"Beautiful setting!!"
A very pleasant stay in a peaceful place. The room was spacious and nicely appointed. The restaurant served tasty meals and was particularly responsive to food sensitivities and restrictions. Staff, super friendly and helpful. Good value for money.

"Solitude getaway"
Awesome getaway in the mountains. Solitude that is not far from the stores in lake Louise . It is a perfect little cabin, we had #2 cabin with a loft, full kitchen, main bedroom. There is a creek off the patio and even though it's winter, it's so beautiful to take a walk down the path, and we went to Johnsons Canyon that's only a 20 minute drive. We have been here before and will definitely be back!!!

"Cozy Beautiful Hotel in the Mountains"
My fiancée and I stayed here for Valentines Day weekend. This hotel is top notch! The room was spotless, the staff were very friendly, the check-in was a breeze and the food in the Baker Creek Bistro was incredible. There are no TV's or radios here so the hotel was very quiet; great for a technology free weekend which is what we did. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and we will definitely stay here again!

"Off the beaten path"
The lodge was fine but you have to be prepared for no tv, no phone, regular interruptions to Internet service and in winter no restaurant on Mondays or Tuesdays. If you do not self cater it means driving for your meals to Lake Louise if you do not have or prepare for a full kitchen. Staff at front desk not that knowledgeable but otherwise pleasant accommodation.

"A hidden gem"
The one little issue we had was an exsisting leak in our room on the floor when we got there. When we notifyed front desk she didn't seem very friendly nor apologetic about this. Although it didn't alter our stay I just thought she'd say more than "ok, I will get someone to look at it". Thats all. But the place is beautiful

"Beautiful secluded mountain retreat"
We stayed here for our anniversary and were very impressed. The staff were warm and helpful, the room was well appointed and awesome. At first we thought the lack of tv, cell signal and sketchy wifi would be a bad thing but it ended up being just what we needed. The only downfall was that the restaurant was closed during our stay. I've read a few reviews complaining about the single ply tp, here is my advice: fold it once and it's double ply, fold it twice and its triple, fold it three times and it's the rare quad ply usually only found at the residences of royalty and tech billionaires. If you want fancy go up the hill to the Chateau, pay triple what your food is worth and hang out with the hoard of bus tours. If you want a laid back, private, cozy vacation stay here, we loved it.

"Perfect for relaxing and recharging"
Great location for totally unplugging and relaxing. We were able to get wifi from time to time but it wasn't reliable. Our room was in one of the lodges and was perfect. A big jacuzzi tub, fireplace and balcony that overlooked the creek were all great for this time of year. We had dinner at the cafe (yummy) and a very nice chat with Nigel the chef who gave great advice for things to do. Would go back to this hotel anytime- we drove by it a couple years ago during the winter and it looked absolutely magical and I've been thinking about it since- it was wonderful.

Everything was lovely. My only gripe is that we were held up with no phone reception to call ahead; we arrived at a few minutes past 10pm and they wouldn't serve us dinner. They didn't even offer to make us a sandwich.

"Nice Location"
This is a nice place but I wouldn't stay again. The room was very spacious and clean and really nice but the atmosphere was stuffy and not comfortable at all. The staff was very prim and proper and rather unfriendly and even though the room was nice and location was nice, we wouldn't stay here again.

The lodge by the creek is simply breathtaking. We enjoyed sitting by the balcony listening to the flowing river and taking in the beautiful scenery of nature. The suite is super cosy and spacious with rustic touches, very comfortable. Highly recommended.

"Cosy Cabins"
We loved our stay at Baker's Creek. The staff were all happy to have a chat and fill us in on the local wildlife. Our 9 and 7 year olds loved borrowing the snowshoes and board games. Around the resort are plenty of places to explore, search for wildlife and play in the snow.

"Meget lækkert sted"
Dejlig lejlighed fuld udstyret med køkken og jacuzzi - hvis man ønsker det sidste. Hyggeligt indrettet, rent og pænt. Skal man sige noget, så er stedet for pæne gangarealer revet i cirkler, hvilket ikke helt passede til naturen, og så går toget lige bag nogle af hytterne og kan høres i resten af området.

"A Difficult Resort to Rate...Read On to See Why"
07/28/15 trainchasercalgary calgary
This is a difficult resort for us to give an overall rating...as there are several positives and several negatives about our stay. Baker Creek is located between Banff and Lake Louis on Highway 1A...beautiful scenery along the highway, with several stops for viewing and hiking. The eastern edge of the property is adjacent to Baker Creek...along the creek's edge there are several chairs, tables and fire pits for guests to enjoy. The southern edge of the property is adjacent/near the CP Rail main line...with the sound of trains evident throughout the day and night. Baker Creek is close to many tourist attractions that are within easy driving distance and time. Being somewhat remote from the hustle and bustle of tourist attractions, Baker Creek is an ideal retreat after a full day of touring. Upon our arrival there was a mix-up with our reservations. Instead of addressing the mix-up right away, three staff members spent time arguing why the manager had not made a note on file of our room preference. We were given a room in the chalet nearest to Baker Creek. The rooms in this chalet are rustic, appropriate for the setting. Our room was dark...not a lot of natural light and indoor lighting is in need of upgrading. Our room had a balcony, and we kept the balcony doors open all night as there was no other way of getting fresh air in the room...there are no windows that can be opened. Don't count on having a full set of dishes and cutlery in your room...and it may be an adventure for you to obtain 'missing' items from front desk staff. Before we checked out, we went for a short walk around the property...when we returned to our room the bedding and towels were already stripped from our room...all before 09:00 hours and our check-out. There is an excellent bistro on site. The bistro has a limited menu. The food is excellent. Overall, our chalet room is best rated at a low 3, our initial reception at a 2, sleep quality at a 3, location at a 4 and the grounds around the resort and creek side for guest use a 5. Ergo, our overall rating of 3. That being said, we will return to Baker Creek for another try...but instead of a chalet room we will arrange for a stay in a cabin.

"Nice outside, cabins need update"
07/28/15 Wanderingbod South of England
This was our most expensive accommodation while on a month long holiday in the Rockies. I am afraid it did not live up to the price. While the outside is very nice the cabins are dark and dated, with poor kitchens and limited room to prepare meals. The cabins were of an acceptable standard of cleanliness, but not exceptional. Staff were helpful and friendly.

"Romantic cabin in the mountains"
07/27/15 gwynnetx Austin
We loved our Trappers' Cabin (#34); my husband wanted to move in! This cabin is a bit pricey, but well worth it if you are looking for a romantic get away. I appreciated the attention to detail throughout the cabin in terms of the decoration. The faucets are all upgraded, the light switch covers are custom, and even the pulls on the bedside lamps are unique. The owners have obviously spent some money in this cabin, and it shows. Because of the spotty internet (free wifi offered, but it's touch and go) and lack of tv and phone in the room, what else is there to do but light the wood-burning fire and take advantage of the jacuzzi tub? There is a porch with grill in case you would like to BBQ and several fire pits on the property. (There was a burn ban in place while we were there, so no one was allowed to use the fire pits, although you could BBQ.) We also enjoyed the on-site restaurant. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. A few tips and info: 1) Baker Creek Mt. Resort is not located in or very near Banff, although it's not a terrible drive to make. It's also about 10-15 minutes away from Lake Louise. I only mention this so that you can plan accordingly if you are wanting to prepare your own meals. If you are in Banff or LL, shop before you leave as "running to the store" is going to be more of a trip rather than a few minutes errand. (There is a small store up the road at a neighboring resort that has the basics, plus sandwiches and desserts, in case you don't want to spend the $$ to eat out.) 2) There is a small shelf stereo in the cabin as well as an iPhone/iPod dock/alarm clock. Bring CD's for the stereo (Marvin Gaye's Greatest is pre-loaded) and be aware that the iPhone/iPod clock doesn't have the right connector for an iPhone 5 or above. It would work with a 4, however. 3) The cabin has a microwave, a toaster oven, a coffee maker, and a small refrigerator. 4) This cabin does not face any water, so if you are wanting a water view, book cabins 2-5.

"Wonderful !"
07/20/15 MikeE372 Fareham, United Kingdom
Staying here was the highlight of our trip, you really feel back to nature. I wouldn't call the resort luxurious as in previous reviews, more rustic but completely adequate. The staff provided us with a small bbq to use on the deck of our 2 bed cabin which was great. The seats down by the river were a lovely place to spend a few hours with a drink in the evening, we were lucky enough to be there during a very hot spell. The other plus is that there are no passing tourists into the resort as we encountered in other places we stayed that were situated by lakes. Staff first class, well done !

We stayed in the Heritage Trapper's Cabin, which was absolutely amazing. The cabin is large yet cosy (especially with the jacuzzi, fire place, and the cool lamps) and the woods outside are breath-taking. Wi-Fi's also available. We had a great stay and hopefully I'll return some day.

"Perfect For Your Event!"
07/15/15 homelesscanadian Geneva, Switzerland
After staying a Baker many times, we decided it was the right place for our wedding. It was perfect, Heather and Baker Creek team were helpful and attentive, taking care of all our needs. We had the ceremony by the Creek, and we used the fire pit for a toast and snacks before moving to the restaurant for our reception. The property was great for kids, who had plenty of space to run around. After everyone left we stayed on for several days to celebrate together. Warning - though was a plus for us, the hotel is on the edge of connectivity - very slow wifi and poor mobile connections.

"Fantastic place to stay, loved every minute!"
07/13/15 Michelle W
I absolutely LOVED staying here and having an entire cabin to ourselves. My friend and I stayed one night on our road trip, and we were so sad to leave afterward. We were exhausted by the time we made it there, and it was so refreshing to stay there with privacy, amenities, and a bubble bath. The rooms were great, the kitchen was supplied with all of the kitchenware. The living room was so cozy and we had our own woodfire and porch. We went during April and it was still quite snowy. We had snowshoes we were allowed to use, and went for a sweet walk. Overall, such a fantastic place, and the prices were great. The service was also so friendly.

"A first class, intimate, luxurious mountain experience you won't find in the big hotels"
07/12/15 OnSaltSpring Salt Spring Island
This is truly a Canadian Rocky Mountain experience - from the moment you step out of the car in into fresh, pine scented air with the sound of the creek rushing down from the mountain meadow to the sight of an evening fire in the log cabin. We first stayed here 25 years ago with our family for winter skiing at Lake Louise 15 minutes down the road and came back with the family this July. Over that time the owners have clearly poured money and love into the resort. You can see it in the details. The river stone pull handles on drawers, mountain memorabilia mounted on the walls (snow shoes, old cross country skis, old photographs), small carved bears climbing trees or peering in windows, the immaculate grounds with pattern raked walk ways and hanging baskets of flowers. And of course comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchenette in our lofted cabin and screened doors and windows to let the smells and sounds in and to keep the bugs out. We ate at the Bistro - more mountain lodge ambiance - first rate breakfasts and dinners at reasonable prices with a small very friendly bar attached. Really, consider this spot rather than one of the big Lake Louise or Banff hotels for an intimate luxurious mountain experience - use it as a base to go and look at those places crammed with people and then come back to your cabin and feel very smug about having discovered this gem.

"Nice mountain resort"
07/12/15 l c Windsor, Canada
Settled between the mountains, on Bow Parkway, by the creek with the same name, this resort is charming. There are cottages and also apartments in the 2 lodges. Our apartment was clean, had rustic furniture plus a jacuzzi and also a small kitchenette with microwave and fridge,The smell of fir tress, the water rushing on the rocks, the amazing blue sky above the mountains, you can enjoy them all from your balcony. You can relax or dine outdoors, by the creek. The train passing by is the only thing I did not enjoy.
