"This company treated us right!!!"
The AC in the Camino del Prado apartment was needing service so we were upgraded to an apartment at Apartamente del Palacio Real - same company. We were treated beautifully. The apartment had everything we needed and if anything wasn't perfect, the representatives of the company replaced or fixed immediately. The apartment was spotless and while it […] didn't have street facing windows, it was still charming. My husband and I saved a huge amount of money on food and were able to enjoy picking up fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and cheeses in the mercado just around the corner. There were many, many places to get tapas and/or a glass of wine or cerveza. The noise level was just fine and we got good rest. There were fiestas very near and we participated when we wanted and slept when we needed. The lift was wonderful, the laundry available for free, the AC strong. Neighborhood was very, very safe. We often walked as late as 2 a.m. or more. It was also near the La Latina metro for longer trips and we just walked everywhere for shorter distances. Beautiful stay! Great company! Cannot recommend it highly enough!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
About a 7 minute walk from the Sol metro station, and within walking distance to the Museo del Prado. This is a studio apartment that you're renting out, complete with AC, washer, kitchen, dining table, and sofa. Small, but decent bathroom. No soaps/shampoo so you will have to bring your own, but we were very comfortable staying here for the 2 nights. […] It can get noisy at night, but nightlife in Madrid is pretty normal. Would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The place was amazing and having your own kitchen to cook in was amazing and saved a ton of money. But the room was not cleaned that well since the last person was there. But one call to the manager and it was very well cleaned the next day.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Matig appartementje. Klein en luidruchtige buurt"
matig. Klein appartement, luidruchtige buurt.
RECOMIENDO LA ESTANCIA Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent room and location...a little lively in the early hours."

Firstly this in an apartment not a hotel, you are renting the accommodation but there are no hotel facilities such as reception or baggage store. We rented the duplex apartment which you enter from a front door at street level, on arrival an agent is waiting for you outside with your key. You walk straight in to the lounge/ kitchen/ diner which has excellent facilities (fridge freezer/microwave/kettle/electric hob/large flat screen TV/ sofa bed). A spiral staircase leads down to the basement where there is a double bed and double Jacuzzi bath. There is also a separate bathroom with shower. The AC is upstairs but was very good so no problem keeping you cool in the night. The apartment is located in the 'barrio' area which is a maze of narrow lanes. You can pretty much walk anywhere on the tourist trail within 15-20 minutes. Lavapies Metro Station is 5 minutes down the hill. The locals can seem a bit intimidating at first, there is definitely some drug dealing going on down near the station, but nobody bothers or hassles you and after a few nights you don't even notice them. Overall I really liked the place, especially opening the front door and walking straight onto the narrow streets of the barrio. There is a mini-market directly opposite and a Carrefour supermarket down near the station. The only downside was the bar over the road which can get very noisy and boisterous late at night, and the bin men who seem to come every night at about 4am. Earplugs are a must if you are a light sleeper, or just get drunk like the locals and sleep right through it all. You need to be out of the room by 11:00 and you must leave it clean and tidy or you will incur a cleaning fee, If you have a late flight you can drop your bags at Atocha Renefe Station which has a Consignes. A large locker for the day is about 5 Euros and the bus goes from here directly to the Airport for another 5 Euros. I would definitely rent this apartment again.
"The Apartments are nice studios but the neigborhood is bad!"

I stayed here on my vacation recently Nov. 26th -Dec. 2nd 2012 and the apartments are nice but the neighborhood is bad. There are people in the streets all day and all night, fighting screaming and cussing. I wrote a review about it to booking.com but the review did not turn up at the site. My first night was met by a crazy grandmother who had a melt down because she smelled marijuana from the street-Bad neighborhood. The next occupants were a elderly mother and father with grown kids who actually harrassed me for two nights before thy were kicked out by the management. I went to the management twice the first time they asked me if I wanted to move but I had planned my vacation near that area and I said no as long as the problem people were leaving. My mistake because it did not change. I asked to be compensated for my inconvenience and the lady told me emphatically that I would not be getting any money back and that I should have moved-inconvenient to me but boy was she right. The company has several apartment buildings in Madrid in much better neighborhoods- unbeknownst to me. Stay at these other apartments not at the one on Calle Olivar. This neigborhood is questionable even for a well traveled american as I am. You will not get sleep you will not feel safe and there is no security and so your issues are resolved from afar. The price is right because the neighborhood is bad. The positve things about these apartments is that they are inexpensive and the studios are nice. The managemet did kick out the people who harrased me for two days but they will not compensate you for any inconvenience. The apartments were close to many major attractions. I spent most of my time away from the apartment to avoid the occupants and local residents. I came back from my vacation exhausted and disappointed in the experience with my stay and the management's concern for the occupants. I recommend other places to stay.
