Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The best part about this was the adjoined bathroom in our room (3 people), and the decor was cute. Apart from that, the staff couldn't advise us on any attractions. We simply asked for a recommendation for dinner, and they said to go to the main street and look. We passed the front desk a few times and weren't even acknowledged by the staff as they giggled over something on the computer (made me wonder if anyone can just go up into the rooms). And the morning of our checkout, the staff knocked on our door prior to check out time hurrying us to leave because they had to clean. Obviously you have to clean, but I paid to stay until the agreed time. So I did. Right to the last minute. Not hospitable. Apart from that, free breakfast and wifi.
"Magic place in Warsaw"

Fantastic place in the middle of the city. Full of colours and very frendly owners. Highly recommended. You have a breakfast for free, can use thebspacious cosy living room and enjoy yourself. Good value for money.

I visited this hostel in November 2013, during my student exchange. I really liked it because it was colorful, rooms and toilets were big and clean. Living room was so good for chilling with other students, and kitchen had everything that we needed. Hostel was pretty close to centrum, only 3 stations with metro. The think I didn't like about hostel was grumpy lady who worked when we came. Other lady who works there is very helpful and friendly. But, overall, I liked the hostel pretty much! If you're going to visit it, listen to grumpy lady and don't smoke in rooms, because you're going to pay penalty. ;)

Love this hostel and highly recommend everyone to try it. I spent just 2 nights there but for impression it was enough. The most cozy, colourful hostel where you feel as you are at home. The staff is friendly, rooms are comfortable with pretty good wifi and fluffy bads. The breakfast was tasty and enough for everyone. One thing i remember is that upstairs was a book for impressions and i found there my friend's note, i was so happy, was assured that even world is small. You will have a good adventure there ^^
"Exceptionally beautiful, peaceful hostel"

El Hostel is definitely one of the most beautifully decorated hostels I've seen so far (and I've seen plenty). The hostel is an aesthetic experience and everything's immaculate. It's a bit out of the center but I wouldn't say it's too far. The neighborhood is peaceful and the intriguing fact is that the Warsaw Ghetto destroyed by the Nazis used to locate in this area. I didn't encounter much social life in the hostel but I only spent there 24 hours or so. I think this place has lots of potential. The biggest minus is for the staff which seem to be absent from the reception desk most of the time.
"The most friendly hostel in Warsaw"

El Hostel is the most best hostel, I've ever stayed in. Very friendly staff, very clean and really beautiful, colorful rooms. Located in a peaceful (and quiet) place, in a walking distance to the old town and 3 tram stops to the main railway station. We were told on the reception, where to go in Warsaw, what to see, where to eat and where to drink ;-). The owners of this place travelled around the world, so the know very well, what the needs of travelers are. And they speak English, what is still not self-understanding in Poland Rooms are nice, big enough, most of them with a toilet and shower. Even if not, than there are shared showers and toilets available - also very clean and beautiful (it's not a joke). There is a kitchen, where you can prepare / cook your own food. And a fridge, microwave, etc. On the first floor is a nice place to have a chat with other guests, read a book, or play. Computer and wi-fi available. For free of course. I liked my 4 days stay very much! Keep doing so!!!!

I have trouble understanding some of the reviews beneath. It says on all bookingsites that the reception closes at 9.pm - so why didnt you just tell the manager in advance, that you would be arriving later? I agree - the manager may not be the most serviceminded person in the history of mankind, but he answers all question, and is polite in generel. The commonarea is HUGE! The kitchen is one of the nicest i have ever seen in a hostel! The showers / toilets area is HUGE. 3-4 showers, for each gender! Rooms are big and spacious, especially the dorms. there are even tables, sofas and a mirror in some of them. Its very clean everywhere - a real pleasure. There is no free parking, as otherwise stated on bookingsites, but you can park for free in the back of the building, so its really not a problem. Regarding to location - YES, its NOT the most central location, but it takes on 15 min to walk to the citycentre, or take 2 tramstops. The breakfast i basic, but fine, if you think about the price you pay. I will highly recommend EL Hostel. If you think this review helped you, hit the button beneath :)
"Beautiful hostel, very comfy beds, free breakfast!"

Stayed at El Hostel for 3 nights in July. 6 of us stayed in the 6 bed room, and it was very nicely decorated and the beds EXTREMELY comfortable. Our room also included two sofas and a table which were nice to have drinks at etc, and the communal lounge area was a great space to use, which included a PC to browse the internet and a range of guide books for the area. The used the kitchen to cook dinner one evening and this was useful. The breakfast, available every day from 7am-10am, was not spectacular (cereals, bread and cheese/meats), but for the price you pay was more than acceptable. It would have been useful to have been given more than one key to our room considering we were a group of 6, but this wasn't a huge problem as everyone had the access code to get into the hostel and lounge area. Location not that central, but once you got the hang of the trams it was easy to get into the Old Town and see all of the sites. There's a sizeable convenience store/supermarket just as you get off the tram for the hostel, which we frequented. Would recommend this hostel, was great for a young group of travellers. Despite the recent reviews stating otherwise, we didn't have any problems with the staff, who were fine.
"Don't even bother!!"

Shocking hostel. Check in closes at 9pm so you have to call when you get there. Owner/manager doesn't seem to understand customer service. Very rude, abrupt staff. No travellers whatsoever, just locals looking for jobs in the city. Location is far out of the centre so you need to take buses/metro everywhere. It's a Shame because its a very clean and good sized hostel but the lack of service let's it down. I wouldn't recommend to anyone!

El Hostel was quite a pleasant place to stay. it is quite a distance from the city centre and not too easy to find the first time!.my advice is get the Metro from Central station ( it's just 2 stops)..and walk from there..it is still about 15 or 20 minutes from the metro stop..but easier than by bus (107) I think ?..that does take you a bit closer, but it's knowing where to get off!..and we din't find it that easy to find bus 107 in the city centre! There is not always someone on reception, so ask all the questions you can think of when you see someone!..best really to only stay there if you travel light!..as there is many flights of stairs up to the rooms and ofcourse no lift!.. The first girl we met on reception, however, was very helpful, spoke very good English and helped us as much as possible :) What can I say about our room ??!.'.hilarious' is the only word to describe it!..we walked through the communal kitchen and the lady opened a door ( which looked as if it was going to be a cupboard under the stairs, or cellar!)..only to say 'this is your room!'..a flight of steps with two bunk beds at the bottom of it!..that was it!..no drawers, wardrobe, mirror, ..nothing!..just the bunk beds! tiny!..the pillow was flat as a pancake! ( pretty room though, mosaic tiled steps and brightly coloured walls!) the bathroom was down two flights of stairs ( through the kitchen or lounge!)..so make sure you are wearing your best pyjamas if you are going down there in the morning, past all the other guests!..also make sure you don't need the toilet in the night, that would be fun! There is was also no blind or curtain at the window, street lights shine in all night and daylight as soon as dawn breaks,so this could keep you awake! The lady who serves the breakfast starts bustling and clattering about from 6.30am ( I think she is making porridge ?!)..and guests talking and laughing in the evening until late could keep you awake in this particular room as its right next to the kitchen, but other rooms I hear are far more spacious if you are sharing with 4 or more ? The kitchen, however, was nice, quite big and adequate breakfast for the price paid (cereal, toast, cheese, salami and ham)..you could also use the fridge to store your own milk, juice or make sandwiches etc The lounge was huge and quite nice, but for me, very dark!..only a couple of small lamps..you could use the internet for free, which I thought was good! Little bit of a 'rough' area..wouldn't really recommend it if you are women travelling alone..if you are intending to go out in the evening..but i'm sure for a younger person or man it would be quite a nice place to stay For the price you pay, I think the El Hostel was fair enough ( you couldn't really expect too much more for such a small cost)...and people staying there were friendly :)
