friendly staff, nice view, small but very cozy pool, very close to restaurant area and hotel has very unique local character. no need AC, open window and feel the natural air!Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was excellent is a great location with fantastic views of the city. Be warned and bring flat shoes as Lisbon is extremely hilly. Hotel is on one of the hills just of the main street but the hill is extremely steep but there is a tram outside if case you are unable to make the walk. Staff were excellent and I would recommend to anyone who likes […] to treat them selves.10 out of 10 Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would not recommend to anyone, not even enemies"
We got our room cancelled the very day we were supposed to check in, leaving me and my company totally stranded in the crazy busy high season! No compensation (well, they could spare us a room in mid September but this was mid August). This is so not how two run a business.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Went to Lisbon for a weekend with my wife on our way to Madeira, so glad we did Lisbon is a great city made even better by a first class hotel. The hotel as great views is in a good central location but in a quiet area. Everyone of the staff we had contact with were without doubt a credit to the hotel, so helpful and nothing was too much trouble the hotel management should be proud of them. Thanks to everyone for a great weekend when we return to lisbon it will be at Torel Palace.

We spent three nights here last week and had a marvelous time. The staff is absolutely top notch. They, and the owner Barbara are very concerned about guest needs. The hotel is difficult to find (and many taxi drivers don't know location) but I'd suggest having the hotel send you directions to give your taxi driver and it will work well. The staff recommended great restaruants and made reservations, one at a place that was booked but took us because they called. Yes, it is a hike back up the hill after dinner but I strongly disagree that the neighborhood is "sketchy"...Portugal is full of graffiti and that does not equate to a "bad" neighborhood. We felt perfectly safe walking home at 10pm. One evening when we did not wish to climb the hill the staff found a wonderful place not too far from the hotel, which we highly recommend.

What a wonderful experience three nights at Torel Palace was! Though tucked away and VERY difficult to find, once there it is truly a gem. The staff are exceptional at delivering customer service and the location, food and facilities are wonderful. The views from the terrace are beautiful, and the location is great - a long staircase down into the heart of the city - which means a long climb back up or waiting for the funicular, but all part of the charm. Can't say enough good things about this place. They really made us feel that they were very happy to have us stay with them - unfortunately, a rare thing in the hospitality industry,

My spouse and I spent 3 nights recently at this lovely property in the Amelia Suite. I was greatly impressed by the attention to detail - a personal welcoming note in the room sealed elegantly with wax, and the customer service - the staff and proprietors made us feel a part of the family. I loved the location - perched just above the city and it's restaurants and attractions and in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. Lisbon has fabulous eateries, but it was a delight for us to return to the inn after a day of sightseeing, and sip wine while eating the most delicious grilled cheese and ham sandwiches, watching the sun set over the beautiful city. The room was awesome - great bed, fast wifi, amazing shower, and spectacular views. Even though we left the hotel to go on a high-end cruise, I spent the entire time dreaming of returning to Torel Palace. It is truly a special place.

This is an absolute gem of a place with period charm and a lovely terrace and pool area with magnificent views over the city. But even better than the historical ambience are the staff who are exemplary and genuinely friendly. You feel as if you are a house guest not just another customer passing through. Everything has that personal touch, even breakfast which is served to you directly at your table. And their advice on restaurants and places to visit is spot on. We stayed six nights and would return without hesitation in the future. Our sincere thanks to Barbara and the team for making it a memorable time and for giving us such a good base from which to explore the wonderful city of Lisbon.

It is a very pleasant and beautiful boutique hotel. The staff is very engaging. De location is perfect. The rooms are very comfortable, chique and clean. We loved the secret garden. Bed was very good. Breakfast was excellent. The view is beautiful. Near the centre, but such a quiet place. Almost like a fairytale. We loved it and we will come back again as soon as possible.

Very pleasant quality boutique hotel with privacy, very engaging and helpful staff and excellent location. Arrived late evening and left morning thereafter. Ergo, if you can, do please stay and allow yourself time at this hotel. A tranquil haven in the middle of Lisbon and with a wonderful terrace for breakfast and pool below. Appears to attract a quality clientele. Whilst this was a business trip, will definitely book again for both business and private stays.
"Marvellous - hope to be back again soon!"

Central, silent, beautiful view, pool to relaxe between sightseeing tours, wonderful rooms, stylish and functional - we loved it! The trip to Lisboa had been a birthday present for my boyfriends 40 birthday - and he is still talking about it! (Only positive things). 100% recommendation!!!

"Outstanding relaxed personal service"

I stayed at Torel Palace for a few days with my daughter . The hotel itself as others have said feels more like a large private house . The most outstanding aspect for us was the wonderful young staff. They really made our stay in Lisbon / their recommendations for dinner were spot on . They happily chatted though the options and even made two alternative reservations for us to choose from when their first recommendation was fully booked. In fact the one time we relied on our own trip adviser research we were bitterly disappointed ! Can't wait to go back with my husband .
