Perfectly fine, comfy and clean
We chose this hotel for its proximity to Yosemite, only to realize it was quite a drive from the hotel to the valley floor. It was a fine stay and my only complaints would be that the sheets were polyester which creates a sort of sticky feeling when you're trying to sleep and the fact that there were literally no restaurants anywhere near the hotel for us to eat dinner at when we arrived around 7:30. We ended up eating stuff from our cooler that we had brought and that was fine but we would have preferred dinner out.

Honest review of Yosemite Gold Country Lodge
Our stay at the Yosemite Gold Country lodge was a good experience overall. It was booked last minute for our trip to Yosemite. The hotel staff member was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. It was a good home base for our trip to Yosemite (about hour and 20 minutes from attractions in Yosemite Valley such as Half Dome). The cabin room was clean, recently remodeled. There is a BBQ grill for those that want to cook their own meal/meat. Outside the cabin, the aesthetics weren't too pleasing to the eye, but we were indoors most of the time, so it did not matter too much. Overall, I would recommend this place to people wanting a cozy home base for trips to Yosemite who don't want to camp

Great family/small village feel
It is a surprise. We booked this hotel not expecting too much. It is indeed a bit of a drive to the Yosemite park. It is not really a town. However, the hotel stuff are fun and friendly. They did BBQ for guests every night, we gather and chatted with other guests. There is a great old fashion family feel to it. We enjoyed a lot.

Quiet room, responsive management
Our room was a new standalone cabin, so it was relatively clean and very private, but we had to drive/walk through a rather run down RV park with a mean sounding barking dog, on a chain, to get to the room. When we arrived the refrigerator and microwave didn't work due to a faulty set of outlets, but there were plenty of alternate outlets so all we had to do was move the appliances across the room. No big deal. The motel owner got an electrician out the same day to diagnose the problem, but it couldn't be fixed while we were there. The floors were really dirty when we arrived, but again as soon as we reported it, the issue was taken care of. The free breakfast was pretty lean on choices, especially if you are looking for anything low sugar. Also note, the property descriptions say it is 19 miles from the Yosemite Oak Flats entrance, but be aware many of these 19 miles are on two lane twisty roads, so it took about an hour to get to/from Yosemite Valley. Plan to eat elsewhere before getting back to the room as Coulterville's few restaurants/merchants have either unpredictable hours or close by late afternoon.
