The location of the hotel couldn't be better - it is literally just around a corner from Piazza del Duomo so all sites are within a few minutes walk. The breakfast was quite good - selection of cold meats and cheese, cereal, yogurts and pastries. It is served in a restaurant few minutes walk from the hotel which some may see as inconvenience but we […] quite enjoyed it. The rooms are decent size, clean and nicely decorated but very dark, if you happen to stay in one of the rooms facing the side lane. On a plus side, these rooms are much more quiet than the rooms facing the main street. Overall, good hotel in a fantastic location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"FANTASTIC location but...."
The location could not have been better. The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. We even had a view of the bell tower from our window. Everything was in walking distance. My only 2 complaints were that breakfast is not on site. It is close but the waiter at the restaurant was a little curt with the hotel guests and menu for the hotel guests […] is VERY limited unlike some of the other Italian hotels we stayed at. Also, we could get the fan to work but not the air conditioning so our room was very stuffy at night. We were only there a short time so we didn't bother to ask them to fix it but there is no one there at the office at night anyway. Kind of disappointing to pay so much money for an overheated room. Otherwise, a beautiful room in a perfect location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Me and my husband stayed at this b&b for 3 nights. Location was just perfect-just a few steps to Duomo. Room was a bit small but it was a very a clean room. If you intend to spend most of your time outside discovering the city then I would definitely recommend this b&b.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was an awesome experience - so central and close to all the sights in Florence. The flat was big enough for 4 people sharing, clean and the sevice was great. Definitely worth the money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Arrived at Florence airport, got bus, off bus and walked to B&B. Google the location and trust it. Easily missed look out for the number 8 and go up the internal stairs. Lovely staff an we had a room facing the opposite side to street so very quiet. Out and turn left for one minute walk to Duemo or turn right for four minute walk to Michael Angelo.........perfect […] for food, coffee, ice cream and more. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"City Centre bargain"

Centrally placed, 100 yards from the Duomo. You can walk from the railway station easily. Entrance off the street is not well signed, making it a bit difficult to find. Like a lot of apartment blocks, the stairs up to the property do not give an accurate impression of what you are going to find at the top! The rooms are clean fresh and provide all basic comforts including a fridge. Beds are comfy, and fresh fruit and Prosecco was a nice touch. The breakfast provided in a nearby restaurant is good. Reception services are not 24hrs. If all goes well with your holiday then this is not a problem. Our friends were locked out of their room and had to wait for someone to come from accross town to let them into their room. If you stay here make sure you take the key AND the swipe card when you leave the room for a day/night out! The reception staff booked museum tickets for us and their was done pleasantly after an initially hostile reply. There was no-one around when we left so we posted our keys in their letterbox. (We later met the receptionist in the restaurant whilst we were having breakfast, and again she was very pleasant) There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. All the big museums are within easy walking distance. I would stay again if I was in Florence as it's good value.

"Location, Location, Location"

My mom and I chose to stay here while visiting Florence. We were here for two nights and the best thing about it is the location. It is located right in the heart of the City Center and it is within walking distance to everything that is a "must see" in Florence. We only met one member of the hotel staff and she was the receptionist that checked us in and also walked us up to the room. Very friendly and helpful. She spoke English well and was accommodating. The hotel doesn't look like a hotel from the outside. In fact we almost walked past it when we arrived. It looks more like an office building from the outside with it's large, wooden door to the entrance. The reception area is on the Mezzanine level which is one floor down from where you enter from the sidewalk. There is an elevator but it is VERY tight. You have to enter it with your body and luggage sideways. At least there is an elevator which cannot be said for every property. There is a good chance you won't fit everything and everyone in on one elevator trip. They offer complimentary breakfast but it is at a restaurant called Konnubio. They give you vouchers to present at the restaurant which is a 7-10 minute walk from the actual hotel. It took us forever to find it because we weren't that adept at using the map and navigating the streets. Hopefully you're not as geographically challenged as we were. The breakfast was an average continental breakfast that you come to expect in Italy. The staff was friendly but the service was sub-par as you'll also come to expect when dining in Italy. It served it's purpose. Not tremendous. Not terrible. And it's included in the price of your hotel stay. The room was very adequate and spacious. Much larger than many places in Italy. We had a room with two twin beds and a television. The bathroom was very large with the shower and toilet areas in two completely different places. Very spacious but a bit impractical when trying to get ready to go out or get ready to go to sleep. The WORST part of the bathroom is that the shower only offers luke warm water. You cannot get any hot water in the shower or in the sinks. Very frustrating for someone who likes scalding showers. This wasn't even hot, let alone scalding. In our room there was also a sitting area with another TV. More than you need but a nice feature. They do offer complimentary WIFI which is much appreciated. It worked well in all parts of the property, including the room which is very nice. Because it is such a great location, expect the property to be noisy. You can hear people in the streets and sometimes on the floor above and below you. We stayed during a holiday weekend so that could be a reason for the excess noise. I'm a light sleeper so I have a "white noise app" on my iPad that drowns out most noise outside of the room. I highly suggest it. Overall this was a wonderful location and a clean and safe property. I would stay here again.
"Great place, but beware of construction."

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while visiting Florence. We found the staff to be very helpful And the location is fabulous. It is only a five minute walk from the Brunelleschi Dome and about a 10 minute walk from the train station. The rooms are clean and very spacious with relatively modern amenities (except for the hairdryer according to my wife). Now for the bad news, there is one side of the building that faces another building under renovation. I noticed scaffolding on the outside of our window when we originally were checking in. We inquired about this construction and were informed by the receptionist that they would not be starting until eight or 8:30 AM. The next morning at about 6:50 AM we began to hear machinery and loud voices. We of course complained that morning to a different receptionist about the situation (Obviously she's been through this before as I've noticed two other posts with the same complaint of construction) and she was very sympathetic. She was able to move us into a different room where the construction noise was not an issue. That was an easy fix for us but I'm sure during the busy season or the weekends there is probably no additional rooms to change to or from.
"Great B&B on top location near the Duomo."
We booked a double room but instead were offered a great appartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and one sitting room. The beds are very good with firm matrasses and good cushens. Beautiful spacious, clean rooms and bathrooms. Friendly staff that welcomed us with a complementrary bottle Chianti. Breakfast is served at another location and is very fine and plentifull....frankly a very un-italian continental breakfast. Great start of the day i.g. before climbing the more then 450 steps to the top of the Duomo. Great B&B we can recomend!

We were very surprised when we saw our 'room'. We got the appartement Castellina, which has a livingroom/kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, huge closetspace.....and we were only 2 people :-D. Staff is very friendly and is willing to give advice on places to see and things to do. Breakfast at Konnubio was a buffet with a lot of choices. Only negative thing was the buildingsite next door. Every morning the roofers started working at 7 o'clock.
"Great location, clean, comfortable but a bit noisy! "

We stayed here for 4 nights in sept for our visit to Florence. The hotel is in a fab central location, the rooms nicely decorated with big comfy bed and nice bathroom and all the staff really friendly. My only minor complaints were... We requested a quiet room which admittedly at night was quiet however there was a building site outside our window, we could literally touch the scaffolding it was that close and we were woken at 7am every morning by the workmen shouting and banging around and also any chance of an afternoon nap was ruined as well. I understand the this is completely out of the hotels control however it did impact on our stay and also when requesting a quiet room, to open your window and find a building site less than 2 feet away is not ideal really. Also our room was just off from the reception so you're subjected to noise of people sitting around outside your bedroom door waiting to check in/out. Most mornings we woke to an odd smell, like a sewage smell in the bathroom which seemed to be coming from the shower - maybe could do with some drain cleaner?? Lastly, the restaurant where you get breakfast, Konnubio which is a 5 min walk away offers buffet breakfast which was good, except this is the only buffet breakfast I've ever known which doesn't have a toaster, baskets and baskets of bread, rolls and pastries etc but no toaster?? Why? We ate here one evening for my husbands bday as the food was excellent, not great wine but the food and service was really good. All in all we would recommend this b&b and would stay here again, just don't forget your ear plugs!

we stayed here for our trip in florence, rooms are nice and central but we had problems with an annoying noise that dont let us sleep, with a strange smell which did not allow to open the window to admire the cathedral and breakfast. They sent in a bar konnubio two blocks away, and when we arrived the girl in the bar told us that it was too late for the breakfast granted and we had to settle for a coffee and a croissant ... nice place but the next time i would like to find the right silence the proper cleaning and also the real breakfast

Florence was the the second town we visited on our last trip. We arrived with train from Rome and figured out the B&B is 10 minutes walk from the train station, very easy to walk to and located only a short walk from Duomo. The room was upgraded (or changed) to a duplex apartment with separate kitchen and living room plus a small bedroom upstairs on the 4th floor. Thankfully the small vintage lift was working. The view was very lovely straight to Duomo, beautiful scenery during sunset. After staying in Rome on a modern designed room, this room was modest but feels old and a bit dusty. Big plus were the Jacuzzi, a good wifi and a bottle of wine to welcome us! Breakfast was provided in a near by cafe, but we got distracted by McDonalds so didn't take it. In summary it was a quite nice stay in a very best location (everything was max 10 minutes away with bike!) . We stayed only for a night but didn't take that long to fell in love with Florence :)
"Magical stay in Florence"

Booked this place on a real bargin deal so our expectations were not too high. Therefore we were over the moon with what we discovered. We took the Terravision shuttle from Pisa Airport to the train station in Florence which is super cheap and convenient and we walked from the station to the b&b, found it no problem a 10 minute walk away. The location immediatly blew us away, seconds from the amazing Duomo and in a lovely building. Our greeting was warm and welcoming with super knowledgable staff providing map and recommending things to see during our stay. We stayed in the Leonardo room, right opposite the reception desk and it was beautiful. we were greeted with a bottle of prosseco on the bed, a basket of fruit and plenty of coffee making facilities. I love the fact that each room is different and based on a famous figure of the area. The room was very large and spacious. spotless and clean with a big comfortable bed and plenty of wardrobe space. The fridge is a welcome addition also. Bathroom again very nice, great shower! We didnt bother with the TV but the wifi connection was spot on. Overall it was the perfect room to come back too after a long days sightseeing. Loved the big doors opening out onto the street below too. Location is the best feature of this accomodation. Within 10 mins walking distance of pretty much all the major sights yet nice and quiet in the evening. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby also. Overall we felt very at home as this beautiful place and we actually got engaged while there which makes it all the more special for us. Will be returning next year for sure. oh, forgot to mention breakfast, served at a cafe a couple of streets down was very good. coffee was great and a great selection of cereals, yoghurts, meats, pastries etc not to mention the cheesecake which was definitley a first for me at breakfast time. Was perfect to set us up for the day. lovely place too! Also, if you are looking for a jam packed day whilst in the area i highly recommend the Walkabout 'taste of tuscany' tour. check out reviews of them on here, best day of our trip by far!
