This was the perfect place to stay. I was at a conference on UBC campus, and Alma Beach Suites was only a 15 minute bus ride away. Ambleside Studio was clean and modern, the perfect size for 1 person (or 2 people who really really like each other). I definitely recommend Alma Beach Suites.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice clean apartment - ideally located for where I wanted to be."
This is a good sized studio apartment. Well maintained and furnished. Nice area, close to the beach. Good access to downtown and Granville island. Booking was easy and there's lots of information about restaurants, bars etc in the area, provided.
"Better than a hotel or a B and B"

I stayed in the Ambleside studio apartment during a recent visit to Vancouver to visit my daughter and can't imagine I will be staying anywhere else in future. Lovely big windows facing a quiet residential street, comfortable bed, a couple of comfortable chairs ( couldn't get the floor lamp to work) and a full kitchen you could cook a meal in. Great location.... Buses within a block to get you anywhere you need to go. There is a Whole Foods and a Safeway not far away. Take out Thai from a place right around the corner was great, also had a great meal at Oakwood Canadian Bistro. Best of all you can walk through a park to the waters edge just a couple of blocks away to sit on a bench and look out over the water. Also about a 15 minute walk through a lovely neighbourhood to Kits Pool, a large outdoor heated saltwater pool. A day pass allows you to return and swim again later in the day. Just stamp your hand on the way out. This wouldn't suit someone who requires daily maid service or someone to check you in ( you access your unit with a code on a keypad) or minds sorting and depositing your own garbage in the bins at the back of the property. To my mind this added to the feeling that I was in my own apartment with the privacy to come and go, get up when I pleased and prepare my own meals. I had phone numbers and emails to call if I had a problem, but otherwise only saw a few other residents. Like a luxury B and B without having to make small talk with hosts and other guests at an over-sized breakfast. I will be back!

I initially booked a three bedroom suite but then told it was not available. Manfred offered me a two bedroom suite plus a studio for the same price. I was then offered the Kitsilano penthouse on the top floor as well as the studio, again for the original price of the three bedroom suite so a bargain! The penthouse was excellent. Very spacious which allowed us to spread out and relax. It was great to be able to cook for ourselves instead of eating out every night. The penthouse and studio were very clean and well equipped. Good location in Kitsilano. Well worth staying in and a welcome change from hotel rooms.
"Great location for Vancouver vacation"

My family of four travelled to Vancouver this July. We stayed six days at Alma Beach Manor in the Bayswater 2 bdrm. There was ample space for us to spread out and relax after a day of sightseeing and it was great to be able to cook and have dinner on the back deck. The beds were comfortable and the quiet neighbourhood is full of beautifully landscaped lots. It is a quick 5 minute walk down to the waterfront, very close to Kitsilano beach. Shopping on 4th Avenue was easily accessible and groceries were a short walk in either direction. Our host, Manfred, made us feel very welcome and gave us some great tips on exploring the beach and other areas. The apartment was very clean, well equipped and a perfect home base for our vacation. Very close to a quick bus ride downtown so we didn't need a car during our stay. Overall, a great experience!
"Stunning self catering accommodation!"

We stayed here in August 2014. My daughter lives in Vancouver nearby and we were a large family group visiting for 9 nights. Manfred and Carol the owners were very friendly and inviting. The apartments were amazing! The penthouse suite was truly stunning as we're the other Apartments we saw. Spotlessly clean, really comfortable, real interior design look to them. Kitchen and bathroom facilities excellent. Very central location at Kitsilano Beach district. I could not find a single fault! Highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Vancouver! Much more comfortable and relaxing than a hotel. Walsh Family from Dublin, Ireland.
"live like a local"

Great way of staying in Vancouver living like a local. Perfect location between the Kitsilano beaches and the shops on 4th Avenue. Public transport passing right in front of the house. Nice building with a very nice penthouse - nicely decorated and very well equiped.
"Updated Executive Living!"

I've been staying at Alma Beach Manor for years now. It's a great home away from home when traveling to Vancouver for business - close to downtown with all the amenities. As of this year my favorite suite, English Bay, has been renovated! And WOW! They have done a spectacular job on the apartment. Everything looks fantastic. Executive living at it's finest! See you again Carol and Manfred.

Our group of six came out for a small wedding on the beach at Spanish Banks. We were delighted with our stay at the Alma Manor's Spanish Banks 3 bedroom suite. We had the two Grandmothers share the twin beds, the aunt and niece in one of the queen bedrooms and my husband and I in the bedroom with the ensuite. Lots of comfortable room for all of us and excellent beds and bedding. The weather co-operated and we got to enjoy the patio with our little wedding party, surrounded by flowers in late April! So appreciated the welcoming owners who made us feel happy to be there. This is a perfect place to stay and hope it is available the next time we are blessed to spend more time in Vancouver.
"It felt like home for Christmas"

My sister and I stayed at the beautiful Alma Beach Manor last Christmas. It was wonderful to feel so at home there. Carol and Manfred were more then willing to go above and beyond for us, they even provided a Christmas tree! The accommodation was spacious and beautiful and minutes away from everything we needed. Lots of great places to eat, shop and explore nearby. I would defiantly recommend staying at the Alma Beach Manor the next time you are in Vancouver.

Our family of seven stayed at the Spanish Banks three bedroom suite at the Alma Beach Manor for a week in March. We had initially intended to rent a vehicle and had brought along a GPS and a car seat for our youngest. But the suite is located steps away from multiple BC translink stops, which made public transit (with five kids in tow!) incredibly easy and accessible. We did all of the usual tourist-y stuff you can expect to do in Beautiful Vancouver and translink got us there and back every time. The kids loved the house, which we called our "home'… we certainly felt like that. Everyone enjoyed the short walk down to Kitsilano Beach and play-area, (it was our favourite thing to do when we were not doing anything else) and we visited the HR Macmillan Space Centre and the Vancouver Maritime Museum there. If you read the other reviews here you will see why staying here is a good idea. We based our decision to choose this place on other reviewers experiences and we were NOT disappointed. Manfred and Carol are the nicest owners! and we absolutely LOVED it here.
