Loved it. Quite a find. Clean, quiet. Respectful fellow travellers. Very good value and accessible to downtown on subway. Last minute booking and was pleasantly thrilled.

It was perfect for what I needed; a comfy bed, a shower and a cheap price. They had really slow internet, but that doesn't really matter.

Clean, great downtown location; however, bed not that comfy, not many towels or blankets and no face cloths.

This is a budget hotel that was spotlessly clean and freshly decorated. Simple Ikea furniture with a fridge and micro. Close to subway and shops. Would stay there again.

Would appreciate more than 2 towels for 2 people, also more than one pillow per person. It would also be beneficial to provide info on subway and bus transportation stops nearby the guest House.(for people coming from out of town) Thank you for a nice stay.

Felt good there and the price was very reasonable. It's a guesthouse, not a hotel - no reception, bar, or restaurant, but there are many restaurants around. It has a nice atmosphere and it covored all my needs for a fraction of the price of other hotels during the convention I came for

"Toronto Treat"
04/30/15 Martin B Isle of Wight, United Kingdom
I stayed at Keppner Guesthouse for 1 week and it was brilliant. Room: Clean, comfortable, little fridge, microwave, and a nice bathroom with a sit down shower (I will be getting one of these when I'm older) Location: In Downtown so about a 20 min subway ride to CN Tower, Sherbourne station just 5 min walk away. Also it's on a side road off Bloor so no noise from the road. Price: I think for Toronto it was reasonably priced Staff: Gary was great, always helpful and even booked a trip to Niagara Falls with his help. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

"Be Aware of what you are buying into. Good for low budget travellers."
10/20/14 Chrisbeeoxford Oxford, United Kingdom
What does on get for $87 a night taxes included? Well, my room was compact. The shower was large enough but the toilet was hard to sit on without knees on one's nose. The electricity arrived by and went round the room by uncovered cabling. The furniture must have come from end of line stock at knock-down prices: my clothes hanging and shelving area was a wire-framed covered in green man-made fibre with a zip arrangement. One shelf only. The work table was irrelevant as the plug for the computer was too far away to allow charging during use. The mattress was single spring and I used the spare bed covering as an extra under-sheet padding to make it more comfortable. The room is cleaned only every second or third day. The small carpet by the work table had ingrained dirt perhaps from use of the microwave. If cooking was done in the room there is only the bathroom basin for washing things. I survived 6 days only because it was somewhere cheap to use as a base. Assistance is only available if one asks for it. The approach is minimum cost in staffing. It is in a quiet street but well away from restaurants and not as close to the metro stations as claimed by some. You get what you pay for.

"Awful"

We've been travelling around quite some times but this breaks it all. Normally, referring to a Trip ratio of 4/5, according to previous experiences, we would expect a great place to stay. This is awful. Rooms are small, probably not complying with fire protection regulation. Air-conditioning is provided without remote control, you have to pay 10$ for parking but there is no place to park your car except by blocking another guest, coffee cups are there but nothing to make coffee nor tea, nowhere to put your luggage, etc...

"An Alternative"

Clean, could have a change of towels and linen. Was close to the subway, nice walk to downtown. Quiet neighborhood, could have used a coffee maker in the room. Am a bit upset that this was advertised in the B&B area and it isn't. Asking for information about the area was non existent. Liked the Tub/ shower combo, relaxing after a long walk.

This isn't the lap of luxury - but if that's what you want in Toronto, be prepared to pay. The up side: excellent location (close to metro stations, bus stops and even a long-ish walk into downtown); parking for $10/night; clean accommodation with en suite bathroom and pretty good wi fi; good value by Toronto standards; good selection of nearby restaurants and a convenience store; on site laundry with dryer The down side: a very noisy bed which was quite firm (I liked that bit!) and lumpy pillows (I didn't like this bit at all). The host is polite but not warm and it isn't easy to find staff members if you need assistance. Some noise from the corridor and other rooms was also noticeable.

"Good budget option"

We stayed in the ensuite bedroom for 5 nights and found it to be pretty good value considering the location. It was close to a subway station and the neighbourhood was nice and safe. The wifi was a bit slow but fine for surfing the internet. The shower could do with an update but it served its purpose. The bed was hard but we were so exhausted after touring Toronto everyday that it didnt matter much. The room could do with some new pillows though, the ones it had were too flat for my liking, but again thats not a big deal. Also I agree with one reviewer who said that the bed could use an additional blanket, we were there in May so it was okay but it could be a little cold at other times of the year. We found it to be pretty quiet at night, there was no traffic noise and we didnt hear any other guests until the last night, when we heard snoring from next door. I was sorry that I didn't book directly with the guesthouse through their website, I booked on bedandbreakfastworld and they charged us a 15% fee which according to the man who runs the guesthouse isn't passed on to the guesthouse but kept by the website. I would stay here again when in Toronto but next time I would book directly with the Guesthouse.

"Excellent value for money deal"
04/04/14 RiaLaenen Leuven, Belgium
The room had everything I needed (tv, wifi, private bathroom, good bed, fridge, microwave, small desk) and was very clean. It felt like being home away from home. My room was on the ground floor, so yes sometimes I could hear some noise from people coming in or leaving, but it was ok. The location is very convenient: close to everything (metro station is really only 2 min walk) and the street is very quiet. I liked the old houses in the street, next to the tall office buildings. The room was an excellent value for money deal during my conference stay in Toronto. So much cheaper than the conference hotel! If I could give one suggestion: it would be nice to have some cutlery in the room for when you heat something in the microwave and to have an extra blanket for the really cold winter nights. But I'm sure I could have borrowed these things if I would have asked for them.

"Amazing affordable place in Toronto!"
01/02/14 Dantosz Jacksonville, Florida
Great location, just a short walk from the subway. Very clean, beds were a little stiff, but not terrible. I was there during one of the worst cold snaps, and the rooms stayed warm. Never ran out of hot water! Did not feel unsafe at all. Diners and bars were in walking distance. Not a 5 star hotel, but totally worth the money and I have few complaints. Got woken up a few times by neighbors, but mostly just coming in the door, didn't last but a few minutes

"Ok but bathroom not so clean"
09/23/13 nolanbolan Toronto, Canada
So the guest house is really two old homes a block apart. Each has a number of little rooms. The bed was firm...there was a tv although fuzzy reception...the sheets and towels were clean. The shower curtain was covered in mold/mildew and the shower and bathroom while they looked clean smelled of urine...so kinda gross. That was really the biggest issue I had...It was a very warm Fall night and there was no AC...not sure if there is in the summer...but it was a looooong hot night...not sure it was worth $100 with tax n parking...and no breaky.

"Bien placé, parfait pour quelques nuits"
05/26/15 Pauline D Paris, France
