I was with my client visiting the hotel twice for lunch. Food is great. Authentic flavours and great taste. Service and etiquette of personnel are great. Nice ambience and close to Western Express Highway stop of metro & also near NALCO bus stop.
"Descent Food but rude Valet staff"
12/05/14 Sundeep00 mumbai
went for a banquet, the overall food was good except 1-2 items like Dal Makhani, rather it should be called Dal Paani. Other items were good. The worst experience was with the Valet. Firstly there were no one to take your car, you have to search for someone here and there. while returning back I saw that the car was parked on the other side of the road almost in a garbage dump. The Valet person was least interested in getting the car even after saying him that there is a senior citizen and will have difficulty in crossing. Besides the person was very rude in talking. When i insisted strongly he went while murmuring something. On handing over the car he rudely insisted to go furthur ahead and take a U turn ahead, when i could easily take a right turn back. VERY RUDE. I had no interaction with anyone else in the hotel so I can't comment about anyone else, but i really hope the other staff are not like the valet person.
"A decent experience that could be better"

Location, facade and the hotel - very close to the airports, maybe 10 mins if no traffic and 30 with traffic. Peak traffic hours between 6 to 8 pm could be a nightmare though and the timings unpredictable. You cannot really take a stroll outside the hotel because the road is rather busy. The hotel does not have any porch and is separated from the main road only by an extended pavement. Overall the hotel is neat and clean and presents a presentable look (nothing elegant about it though). I think the hotel has 4 floors with rooms and around 64 rooms perhaps (16 to a floor). I feel rooms 1 to 4 and 9 to 11 (12 would be a corner room facing the main road) would have a view of the back rather than the main road and are therefore likely to be less noisy (I was not there in the room between 7:30 am till 10:30 pm so unable to comment if the traffic noise impacts the room or not). Higher floors are likely to be better. Reception - neat workman like reception. Efficient people. Just remember that your room keys are deactivated for security reasons every day. They never told us about it which was a problem. And, if you are trying to call up from the floor level house phone (opposite the lift) for help, there is no sticker or table top to tell you which number to dial. So 9 is for operator and you have to wait a bit to get the dial tone so don't be surprised. Rooms - good sized rooms where the AC thermostat works well. Enough plug points for charging your phone and laptop. Unfortunately, no study table provided to work. No master light adjustment console near the bed. Lights have to be switched off individually. I stayed in room 304 which is a corner room. There was really no view outside other than the parking lot of the cars and a view of the main road. I kept the cover to the window on all the time. Bathroom - Head and hand shower very effective. Shaving mirror provided. Shampoos and soaps are decent. Good shoe mitt provided in the cupboard. Bathroom lighting could be better. Bathroom is designed well to use minimal space (sliding door for the bathing area. No bathtub (it is Mumbai remember) Food and restaurants - they serve a decent breakfast and an excellent buffet dinner (with one glass of wine or beer complimentary). Over the weekend, it is difficult to find a seating place in their buffet restaurant (they also have an ala-carte restaurant on the same 1st floor which I did not use). Their dinner time starters include prawn, fish and chicken in non veg and 3 odd veg items. You could finish your dinner in snacking itself. There is an Indian chaat counter, good spread for food. Food presentation is poor but the taste is good. Service - the hotel has a good service orientation but their processes/Standard operating procedures sometimes create a problem in actual serving. During one of the dinners, we had a long wait for a starter, an appam (rice roti) and finally some fish which was over in the main menu. This wait was between 10 to 25 minutes. Granted it was a Friday evening and they were full. But the issue was their SOPs. When a large gathering left, ALL the staff (virtually) started organizing the tables and there was hardly anyone serving the 6 manned tables. To me this was more of a thinking and planning issue than a serving mindset. One person, a small Gurkha with a crew cut, named Thag, completely stood out in that serving crowd. If you choose to eat there, catch his eye and you may have a much better experience. I had an awesome service experience on Day 2 despite a full house, thanks to him.

I have stayed in Sai Palace a couple of times in the last few years. I must say that it is a good hotel. I have stayed here on several occasions with family and with business associates. One of our business colleagues's agent had referred us to Sai Palace in 2012 when I was visiting Techtextil Exhibiton in Goregao Mumbai and since then we have been happy customers of this hotel. I really like their reception and waiting area. Especially the Glass door lifts. Looks very fancy. The rooms are very spic and span and upto date with all the amenities one can imagine. The AC is very effective. The room has a Flat tv, comfortable beds, electronic Safe, Mini bar, The Sheets, linen, upholstery towels etc used are very clean. room size is ok for 2 Pax. Really like the bay window sitting area. Bathroom is spic and span and is well equipped. Clean sink, Shaving mirror, Hair dryer, separate bathing cubicle, a digital weighing scale. The restaurant is on the 1st floor. Food is very good.We ordered room service several times & the taste and portions were good. Breakfast spread was quite wholesome with many indian and international dishes. The taste was good & I personally liked the south Indian dishes best. Idli vada was very good. The quality of jucies, drinks coffee was very good. We also had dinner once with our business guest in the restaurant and we were very happy with the service and the food. Overall very happy with the service, quality of food and the property. definitely worth the price.
"A family meal to remember on Diwali nite...."
10/27/14 Nikhilesh240574 Mumbai (Bombay), India
Every year on Diwali nite, the In-laws invite us for a dinner and this year fish was on the mind and hence this place was suggested based on recomendation from some relatives. The location is next to the Holy Family church at Mahakali Andheri and very convinient to reach. The ambience was very nice and the decor was quite nice. Within the restaurant they have 2 mezanine sitting arrangemnet like a machaan which u normally dont se in a family restaurant. With the reco for good fish food we ordered surmai tawa fry and as suggested by the attendant a dish called chicken rajasthani. The fish was fresh and hence the flavour of spices coated on the slices was amazing. The chicken was also good. We continued the starters with main course where we ordered prawns gassi with neer dosa. the dosa was so thin and soft that it just melted in our mouths along with the gravy of the prawns curry. To make it a complete meal we ordered fresh kulfi and had a mix of chikoo, mango , black currrant and normal milk flavor which was yum and ultimately we our tummies were full upto their brim and we could have nothing more. The meal was worth its money and we had a good time. The decor was nice and for a large family like our a quad shaped table serving 10 was the best way to spend the nite toghether...surely a revisit is on the cards...trsut me ..do visit and enjoy the sea food...
"It Was Excellent in the Past. But Now..."

Stayed there 3 years back at it was wonderful.. Current reality... Basic room utility things, toiletries are missing and is provided only if you ask for. Beds and pillows were old and lost their stiffness.. I checked-in at 9pm and found there were 3-4 men inside that room making it ready. Even the morning breakfast buffet had very limited food items to offer. Overall, I need to think twice for my next visit.

Our whole group of about 20 landed here on a sunday evening for a-la-carte dinner. The first glimpse of the place was quite captivating. They had taken booking for us though it was a sunday. Restaurant section seemed spacious and decor very good. We had a variety of starters and main course dishes, both Veg. and Non veg. as well as drinks. I must say all the dishes were excellent. Service could do with some improvement though. They also have a buffet section with fixed time schedule. Charges seemed ok.
"Insufficient infrastructure, no coffee machine, dangerous?"

Quick business stay close to the airport. Asked for quiet room, obtained one in the back, towards the garden. During the night was really quiet, away from the traffic, great. But then, the doors are so thin and hanging there in the hinges, that you could clearly hear (and wake up) on every single other door of the floor opening and closing as if it is your own. Mental note, come here with earplugs. Going to sleep, wanted it dark. Also you cannot completely turn off the TV screen. So I pressed the "Master Switch" over the bedside table, see a spark and everything goes dark. Blew the fuse, also the Aircon went off. Luckily travel with a small torchlight, could find the phone, call reception and have somebody come. He replugged the fuse, said not to touch the "Master switch" ( why is it there in the first place??), and then we had to turn off every single light separately looking for the right switch. One of them was broken, so had to pull the plug, same for the TV. Let's say I started to be concerned about the quality of the installation and potential other hazards... Breakfast: small buffet, mediocre quality, some stuff swimming on the "fresh milk", but the worst: no coffee machine!! And poor service: 11 tables in the dining area, staff of 7, 3 of which come to ask me if I want coffee, but nobody brings it?! At the get hot water, coffee powder. Not sure how this hotel got high ratings from anybody....but I am not going to push my luck returning.
"Conveniently located, good business hotel"
08/25/14 RG-of-India Gurgaon, India
I've stayed a few times at this hotel, the last being in July. This is located at a busy Andheri (E) crossing with close proximity to business quarters, metro and both the airports. The service at Sai Palace is good and the staff is quite attentive to your needs. The food is quite decent as well. Overall, a good (budget) business hotel, recommended for business travelers with work in the Andheri area.
