This hotel is a great place to stay if you don't plan on staying in the hotel for long. It provides the bare minimum required. For the price, not bad. there is no parking. When I arrived, the man behind the desk tried to get me to park in an impossible spot between two cars and, then, a towaway zone. When I asked about parking, he acted as if I was […] crazy and kept saying there was parking (meaning the street). Usually, I would expect a lot. He complained and said it was due to my time of arrival that there weren't as many spots open but, I arrived a little later than 6 pm (check in time). The reservation had some mixups, so we had to wait, but it ended up benefitting us as we got a room with a private bathroom instead of shared. The room was ok. "Cozy small hostel for the relaxed traveler"
Me and my 2 friends had a great stay at OM Montréal. Booking through Expedia, we managed to get a great discount on the room. When booking, we assumed that booking 3 beds in a quadruple room meant that we got the whole room - this turned out to be incorrect when we arrived at the hostel, but the manager was nice enough to accommodate our expectations […] and so we got our own room. The manager is by the way a great guy who is very friendly and helpful - on the first day he even cooked french toast for us. Other than that the included breakfast is continental with coffee/tea, toast, muffins and cereal, but it's out until noon which is nice for those who like to sleep in. The location of the hostel is perfect as it's very close to the cozy Rue St. Denise and Quartier Latin, as well as just a couple of blocks from the nearest metro station (Sherbrooke). This isn't a party hostel by any means, as there are only a few rooms and (at the time of our stay) not many guests present. As such it's suitable for low-key travelers. The only downside to our room was the fact that it had a side door to the dining room which was both thin and unlockable (a table was put in front of it in the dining room) - we never felt unsafe (and the rooms feature safes for valuables), but the noise level in the morning was sometimes annoying. It turns out that the the locksmith had overlooked something in the installation of new locks. That table which held the door shut was placed in your old room and people love the fact that they can now sit in their room and be on the computers without having to go to the main area. "Worst service ever!"
After a long day flying we arrived at the hostel around 8pm, the staff advised us that the room wasn't ready (we made the booking several months earlier!). The owner seemed really uninvolved and had no professionalism at all. We have been waiting for a while our room to be prepared, so we decided to leave and go to search another place (which was quite hard to find in that summer period!)

This hostel is a scam. Me and some friends drove from 6 hours away and had reservations here for the long weekend that we had already paid a deposit on. When we arrived there was no sign to show you were at the location, the door was locked, the owner of the hostel was not answering any phone calls. As we were standing there trying to figure out what to do, two other people walked by and told us that this place was a big scam. Te same thing had happened to them and they were charged for their nights stay on their credit card for never checkin in because the owner was never around to check them in. Same thing happened to us. Absolutely horrible establishment. There is a VERY nice and VERY accommodating hostel 3 blocks down on the corner of Sherbrooke and st Denis. Big black sign says hotel. Very cheap and highly recommended.

We arrived at in Montreal around 2PM after a very long drive. Excited about our trip we decided to check in and drop of our bags to get ready for our first night out. After ringing the door bell for well over 20 minutes our host finally got out of bed to let us in. We were immediately greeted by smug jokes about New Jersey and America in general. When he started to make fun of me, I explained that my friend is from New Jersey but I live in Brooklyn. He then started to tell me about how he owns all this property in the West Village and loves to rip off Americans. Then, in front of my friend from New Jersey, he told me that New York is disgusting because of the cockroaches and Jersey trash that plague New York on the weekends. If this wasn't bad enough of a start, he overcharged us. When we tried to review the numbers he attempted to distract us on purpose. We eventually pointed out that the numbers were wrong and then he said "ooops, you might confuse me with an American by my skills at math." After paying he told us our room wouldn't be cleaned until 5 and to come back. We came back at 5 sharp eager to get ready to meet friends for dinner. All we heard was the sound of a vacuum cleaner and we're approached by two large dogs. He made us wait for an additional hour before he let us into our room. Once we were finally let into our room we immediately noticed that he stuck an American flag in our room as some kind of joke. Out of the three of us I am the only one that was born in the U.S. and we don't at all resemble typical American meatheads. Aside from the condescending attitude the place was filthy especially the bathrooms. His dogs constantly roam the hostel and rotten food is left out 24 hours a day. Many of the food items left out for consumption are topped with about an inch of MOLD. (moldy cheese dip, moldy bread, and the same gallon of burnt coffee left with the heat on throughout the week, ect....) By the end of our week stay the bowl of RANCID MILK in the fridge had the consistency of yogurt. In the end we were overcharged AGAIN (an amount he had agreed to refund) and after a long argument we decided it wasn't worth the frustration and let him have the extra money. I have stayed in many hostels over the past several years and have NEVER had an experience like this!! Even after his many attempts at ruining our stay I had an amazing time in Montreal but I WOULD NOT WISH THIS HOSTEL TO MY WORST ENEMY!

We have travelled across many countries and have slept in all kinds of accommodations, but we have never found something like this. We didn't actually sleep in OM because the owner didn't show up. After having waited for a while, we finally managed to enter (just thanks to somebody who was supposed to work there but had no clues about our reservation and about where the boss was) but the place was just insane! Mattresses all over the floor, dirt everywhere...unacceptable.. The cherry on top: by chance we happened to share the room booked afterwards with two travelers who had escaped from the same exact experience with OM!

I'm dismayed of what has transpired between my friends and this host. As soon as we walked into the hostel he looked annoyed because we woke him up. Well I'm sorry; but isn't this his job? He then immediately starts mocking us for living in New Jersey. Then he mentioned about how he used to live in Tri-state area and how he left because he was sick of "Jersey Trash" and cockroaches. To mock us even further he hung up the American flag in our room. Please try to be kind to future costumers, you are running a business! We paid him our hard earned money so that is he can insult us. Why? We decided to deal with it, and stay since cancelation policy is 72 hours in advance. Service in the hostel was very poor. Bathrooms were not thoroughly cleaned, and small bathroom had mosquitoes. Breakfast area had bunch of condiments that should have been refrigerated, yet were left out in open. This a health hazard. There was big bowl of milk that started to coagulate probably gone rancid. None of us dared to eat anything from the pantry other than bananas. He also attempted to play head games. One of my friends that stayed with us separately was having an issue since our rooms weren't ready by 6 o'clock. Hence why he "offered" my friend to stay for 2 extra nights for free. Then he changed his mind the last day of our stay charged us for those two extra days. This was preposterous thankfully we didn't allow this "host" to ruin our vacation, and our perception of the beautiful city of Montreal. Where is the customer service? Where are the chops ?

Situated on Sherbrooke and close to St. Denise street, the OM Montréal is actually very well located and you can go pretty much everywhere from there in no time. However, my first impression of the hostel wasn't very pleasant. The reception desk looks rather untidy and the bowl with crisps on it look very unappetizing. The couches in the entrance area are quite dingy and look rather worn. A lot of hairs can be found all over the place from the dogs that are kept inside the hostel. The service of the hostel was generally unsatisfactory because they charged me more than I was supposed to pay for the room. The reason was that the receptionist got confused with the different types of rooms they have. I noticed the mistake before signing the receipt but then still signed it because the receptionist reassured me to adapt the price when I'd check out. When I wanted to check outthough nobody was around. So I knocked on the door of the room, where the receptionist used to stay in but nobody answered. I left very unsatisfied. Furthermore, during check in, when handing the receptionist my Visa credit card he disappeared with it, which is, at least in Europe, considered a no-go. People here usually don't allow other persons to leave the room with their card. For these reasons and the subsequent one's I wouldn't choose OM Montréal a second time: 1. The hotel was quite dingy, especially the bathrooms and the kitchen. 2. The butter and other things for breakfast that are usually refrigirated are kept outside 24/7.

J'ai séjourné dans cet hotel fin septembre. Et je souhaite prévenir les personnes tentées de s'y rendre que c'est une catastrophe. Le propriétaire n'est jamais présent, ni même pour nous accueillir pourtant à l'heure convenue. Notre chambre n'était pas prête alors que l'hotel était quasiment vide. Il s'est contenté de changer les draps, n'a pas vidé la poubelle et autour du lavabo il y avait encore des accessoires des derniers occupant, ainsi que leurs peignoirs dans la penderie. Le ménage n'a jamais été fait, la cuisine est inutilisable, la salle de bain n'a pas vu d'éponge depuis longtemps et les WC je n'en parle pas, il n'y avait même pas assez de papier toilette, sans parler des fourmis au sol. Les fruits du petit déjeuner étaient envahit par les moucherons, de toute façon vue l'état de crasse nous n'avons pas tenté de manger quelque chose. Le propriétaire possède deux gros chiens qui se promènent seuls dans l'hotel, il n'hésite pas à gonfler la note en plus des taxes. Pour le parking il vous propose de vous garer devant l'hotel dans la rue, mais il faut bouger sa voiture deux heures dans l'AM car le stationnement y est alors interdit. Nous avions plus l'impression de séjourner dans un scouat insalubre que dans un hotel. Le Wi-Fi fonctionne très mal. Tous les matins nous étions réveillés par le réveil du gérant programmé sur sa tablette qu'il laissait à l'accueil, en cherchant à l'éteindre nous sommes tombés sur des données de CB d'anciens clients laissées à la vue de tous !!!!!!!!!!!!!

j'ai séjourné dans cette auberge en décembre 2013. (1 nuit) Ce que j'ai apprécié, c'est la tranquillité et la gentillesse du responsable. Nous étions dans une véritable maison, avec une grande salle de bain, de grandes chambres avec beaucoup d'espaces pour les bagages.. Le responsable avait ouvert récemment à ce qu'on a pu comprendre. Je pense toutefois que cette auberge n'est pas adaptée pour accueillir du monde. Nous n'étions que 4 alors il était facile de s'organiser mais je n'imagine pas si toutes les chambres avaient été complètes..! Les chiens sont adorables mais je peux comprendre le désagrément que cela cause pour des personnes allergiques par exemple. Nous n'avons pas trouvé moins cher à Montreal, et cette auberge est très bien située par rapport à la gare routière.

3/10 Débutons par l! Accueil qui est le seul point positif. Mais malgré un arrivée tardif la chambre n!était pas prête. Un client a du être changé à son insu !, Il est entré dans notre chambre à 2 reprises durant la nuit ! Nous avons découvert son pyjama sous l!oreiller le lendemain matin ! il y avait des poils de chiens dans le lit des enfants et on se gratte depuis !, En conclusion plus jamais et je vous épargne l!épisode ou des clients ont presque réussi à défoncer la porte principale de l!hotel....
