"Friendly, comfortable, clean"
Away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown core so no party folks to contend with, this lovely B & B is a short walk to Spring Garden Road. With a light self-serve breakfast in the morning and tea in the late afternoon, this is a great maritime experience. I will stay here the next time I'm back in town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful spot in Halifax"
The service, room, and location were all outstanding. The staff were all very friendly and the room was very cozy with a good television and spacious bathroom. The only minor quibble is a lack of free parking on weekdays but if you are resourceful enough you can find nearby streets that you can park on overnight during the week.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice. Very friendly service. Nice room in older but very well-maintained building. Easy walk to downtown and most things to see in the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Satisfactory. The continental breakfast was only adequate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful Place to Stay"
The hotel is homey and cozy. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The location is exceptional, the waterfront is no more than a 10 minute walk as is the Citadel and the Public Gardens. So much to do an see in such a small area. The Continental Breakfast was an added plus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Everything is bad in here"
They still own me 24$!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I stayed here before and it was okay but this time my experience was terrible. The room was fine but the mattress was old and tired. The sheets wouldn't even fit properly on it. With two people, there was a sag in the middle and we both got up in the morning after a terrible time trying to sleep. We had a three night booking but we booked at another […] hotel and moved out after one night. Never again. The owners should be ashamed of themselves. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient, Quiet, Comfortable"
Stayed for one night. Room was clean, quiet and well equipped for my needs. Inn is located in a busy neighborhood with many restaurants and services within walking distance. Parking lot across the street is much cheaper than other reviewers have reported.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Response by Garden South Park Inn I thank you for your visit and the time you took to complete your review. Regards

"A Very Nice Stay"

Our 2-week trip through the Maritimes began with 3 nights at the Garden South Park Inn - my wife, our 19-month old daughter and myself. We also stayed here for our final night of the 2-weeks which became 2 nights courtesy of hurricane Arthur delaying our flight by a day. We were fortunate to be able to stay put in our same room for the additional night. Nicely situated, it met all our expectations without issue - we had a very nice stay. I only give it a Very Good because I save the Excellent status for those experiences that go above and beyond my expectations.

I must admit having arrived from Toronto in the late afternoon and a miserable day, low cloud and rain i was ready to check in for some comfort. The taxi driver had verbal diareah but knew where he was going, just. My shock that evening was to find myself standing in front of a property that looked a cross between the Adams Family residence and a crack house! HOWEVER, in the morning having checked in and gathered my senses, was different. The property is in a specific old design, which had been rubbed down for redecoration. Painters and decorators clambered over the building the following few days. Inside it was cosy, the decor being a 1960's English B&B. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast setting perhaps a little bit old fashioned these days, but fitted the style of the property. Location very good, opposite the university and only a short walk up to the shops.

A pleasant stay for one night, we were on the 3rd floor overlooking a ancient graveyard. The room was clean, large enough for 2 twin beds. The decorations on the wall didn't really match anything, but the all in all it was a nice spot. Breakfast was a self serve with bread, bagels, home made muffins and sweet breads, yogurt, cereals, juice, coffee and tea. Overall a lovely dining room with white china on the walls which gave it a more intimate home feel. We didn't use it, but there was also a computer room on our floor.

But once inside it was a different story. ultra modern, the room was fantastic, the innkeeper was great the breakfast provided was out of this world. would recommend this place in minute. great location, it looked like all the rooms were booked by the amount of people having breakfast in the morning, everyone loved the place. do yourself a favour its great
"Excellent value in Halifax."

We are a mature couple and have been travelling for 13 months. We initially booked this hotel for 7 nights but extended it by 3 nights. We return to Halifax in mid July and have booked another two nights then. That really says it all! This is a lovingly maintained character building close to the hospital and university. It is 2 blocks from the main shopping street and about a 10 minute walk to the waterfront and the Citadel. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars within an easy stroll. The girls at reception (Marie and Tisha) are so warm and friendly and helpful, they are real gems. There is a nice breakfast area and lounge areas. There is strong WiFi throughout the entire building. The bedrooms are large, warm and sunny with an AirCon and loads of space. The bathroom is adequate with tons of hot water at a good pressure. We appreciated the availability of a laundry on site. The included continental breakfast was just fine. The free hot drinks and supper in the evenings were also a nice bonus. I could not imagine anything better; this place has real soul.
"I love CLEAN...."

Cleanliness is top priority for me when I stay in a hotel room and this B&B fit the bill perfectly! Courteous staff a priority...again, a big check mark. I have stayed here in the past and will most definitely stay here again. If you are looking for a clean, friendly, will located place to stay in downtown Halifax, this is your home away from home.

I stayed there once for four days. Since that visit I never change my choice when I go to Halifax. This hotel is situated in the heart of downtown. It is very close to everything in this city. The atmosphere of the hotel is great. Staff - very friendly and helpful to tourists. Rooms and the whole building was very clean. I cannot wait to go there again. I'm coming! :))
"Cute little inn"
01/21/14 Urbangecko Kingston, Canada
Stayed for 2 nights for an interview at the hospital What I liked: STAFF - Very accommodating, and friendly. Let me have my last-minute request of a late check-out. ROOMS - clean, and quaint, not over the top covered with 100s of lace doilies like some BnB places! The en-suite bathroom is functional and clean as well. LOCATION - Great location, central. I was only there for 2 days, but walked to Spring Garden Road, the Citadel and lots of restaurants and shops. What I didn't like: ROOM LOCATION - I stayed in room 201, which is situated right next to the reception. The walls are pretty thin, so although things were pretty quiet after 11pm, just be mindful of this. OVERALL - A cute place that's economical and in a great location. The included breakfast is nothing to rave about, but sufficient. I enjoyed the complimentary afternoon tea/cookies.
"better than home!"

This little gem is a small inn in Halifax that is near to everything. The staff are wonderful. The room have character, each one being different, and the feel is homey. Perfect place to stay for business or pleasure. I look forward to a time when I can stay there and not have anything to do but relax and enjoy the stay.
"Could be so much more"
11/15/13 Duffy Calgary, AB
We stayed for one night in October. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast room was messy after the guests had used it in the morning. The tables were dirty and dishes etc in sink. It got worse when I went looking in the drawers for cutlery. There was no cutlery but there was a great deal of dirt and grim! The kitchen needs a good cleaning - looked like nothing but surface cleaning done for a very long time!
