"Ok, won't stay again"
This hotel was ok, but the decor is getting dated. It is not anything like the nice Indigo in San Diego, USA. We were not given clear instructions on breakfast and were to be charged double, but we worked that out. The room size was slightly larger than most Madrid stays. There were nice views from somewhat wrap-around windows. The room was very quiet […] and the windows did not allow to be opened. The lighting controls were odd - a switch out in the room controlled all the bathroom lighting. There is a very nice terrace on top. The bathroom was always a freezing temperature no matter what the rest of the room was set at. The staff was helpful but not especially nice and assumed a little too much when we had one guest come by. I don't feel I would stay again here. There are much bigger rooms and better values in the same area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel centrally located."
Fantastic experience with multilingual staff. We chose this hotel blindly not knowing anything about the layout of Madrid. We were able to walk to many of the historic sites and never needed to use motorized transportation except to and from airport. Set in a bustling area with plenty of food and shopping choices.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room is fine. Location is convenient to metro and shopping. The lighting in the room is ridiculous. Have to use room key so the lights will turn on. Didn't always work.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect for travel or business"
Hotel is brand new - super modern, chic and trendy. Everything was perfect. Location was ideal for sightseeing as well as grabbing a cab on Gran Via and heading off to a meeting. You can walk to any major sight within minutes and enjoy an amazing sunset from the rooftop pool and lounge. Breakfast was busy and often short on certain food items but for […] the price of this hotel, a complaint would not be acceptable. Amazing stay - WILL do it again! "Great hotel - steps away from Gran Via"
Hotel Indigo was clean and modern. We enjoyed 4 nights at the hotel. When the taxi drove us down Calle de Silva, we were a bit skeptical. Hotel is not exactly on the best street but it is literally steps away from Gran Via. When we first checked in, the room given to us smelled of smoke, however, the front desk was able to quickly solve the situation. […] Front desk was extremely courteous and Roberto was very personable. The hotel is new so everything was pretty much what I expected. Husband and I loved the showers - great water pressure. There was a Nespresso machine in the room with complimentary water which was a plus. There was also a safe in the closet for our use. The bed was comfy but the pillows were terrible. Too soft! We did not get to use the rooftop pool but it looked clean. The location of the hotel was nice - literally steps away from Gran Via and a short walk away from Puerta del Sol. I would def stay at this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very hip hotel, good service, ideal location"
This hotel is cool. Loved the murals in the public areas and in our bedroom. We couldn't have got a better location, though glad for an upper floor room as imagine closer to the road would have been noisy. The room was very warm, which was ideal for wintery Madrid, but a little small when both of us have luggage. Service was very good and friendly. […] Even though I was speaking Spanish, when the woman who checked us in and out spoke to my husband in English it was perfect. We ate in the Italian restaurant and the food was excellent and again good service. We also had room service which was very tasty. Would definitely recommend this hotel. "Modern hotel in a good location for main sights"
This is a modern hotel recently refurbished in an excellent location for the main sights. We were in a delux room that was nicely decorated with an excellent bathroom. However, noise from the street below woke us up several times each night (we were on the 4th floor) - Sound-deadening is required for the rooms - this is critical. The buffet breakfast […] was very good (and was included in our rate) but when we asked for a cooked breakfast we were charged extra even though the cooked breakfast was cheaper on the menu than the buffet breakfast. "Grown up family city break"
Excellent hotel that met our expectations. Great location a few steps from the Gran Via albeit in a side street. Typical of high standard set by Indigo. Boutique hotel, very clean, great food and customer service. Helpful staff pulled out the stops in helping us get tickets for The Champions League. Skybar and terrace with dinky pool were designed very […] well. Rooms were typical of size expected in city centre. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Modern central hotel"
During our seven night stay at the Hotel Indigo Madrid, we could not fault this modern boutique hotel,or the staff. The hotel is centrally located and one minutes walk from the metro station. Although meals are available at the hotel, there are also many cafés, bars and restaurants to choose from in the area.Genuine Expedia guest review

Stayed here in business and would recommend it. Fab roof terrace with a small pool. Italian restaurant not too bad. Staff extremely friendly and helpfulGenuine Expedia guest review
"New boutique hotel"
Great location just off the Gran Via, and near tons of shopping, walking distance to Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, and the palace. New hotel, still in great shape. Rooftop pool is more for show, as it is tiny and freezing cold. Good value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Couldn't really ask for me"
Can't really fault this place. Only 2 minor points... I had an inner facing room so there was just a view of the wall - not that I cared about that. And the pool didn't really get sun until about 1pm, again - this isn't anything that really bothered me. Would defiantly stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Indigo Gran Via - any time again"
We enjoyed our stay at the Indigo in Madrid very much. Just a few steps off Gran Via, this hotel is ideally located to visit all main tourist sites (Plaza del Sol, Plaza Major, Palacio Real, Chueca, Parque Retiro, Plaza de la Cibeles, Paseo del Prado). It is new and fresh with a modern look. The staff at reception did the impossible to get us a last […] minute restaurant table for New Years Eve! The only negative aspect of our stay was that the standard room we occupied had no window (only to a dark central atrium) - which didn't matter that much as we stayed at the room only for a good nights sleep. Great and very varied breakfast! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Underbart hotell, rekommenderas starkt!!!!"

"Very good hotel in the heart of Madrid"
01/25/15 JohanM1983 Berlin, Germany
We have stayed at the Indigo for a weekend getaway and have little to complain. The location is superb (very close to the Gran Via), the service was professional and nice, the room had a very good price/value ratio and was rather new and well equipped. The Nespresso made a nice touch. Unfortunately, our bathroom door didn't shut properly and we would have enjoyed some hangers for our coats in the (rather large) hallway. We had the breakfast and found it to be very good. Lots of options, nice service. Makes a good start into the day. As it was very cold we couldn't enjoy the otherwise great rooftop with pool and bar but I guess it's lovely in the summer. In total, we'd return for sure and stay here again.

Location: Half a block from Gran Via. Very close from 2-3 metro stations Rooms: The bedroom is great!! The design, decoration, comfort. A lot of things were provided, as coffee, water for free, iron board, iron, as well as toilette accessories. Bathroom: Great toilette! And very funky lightning :) Service: The people was very friendly and helpful. Value: Al little more expensive than others, but it is a good value for money if you are looking for something trendy and different. Cleanliness: Super clean! Sleep Quality: Great sleep quality! The bar in the terrace is the best. I went in winter so I couldn't use the swimming pool but if you go there in summer you will enjoy of a great swim with a great view. The neighborhood does not say anything of what you are going to find when you come into the hotel. A very nice surprise.
"New, Modern, Urban - Great Central Location"
01/11/15 Lenore S Austin, Texas
My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Indigo-Gran Via for 2 nights during our post-Christmas trip to Spain. Transportation from the airport was fairly straightforward. We took the metro from Barajas Airport, transferred once, and then walked 15-20 minutes from the Plaza Espana. Gran Via is a main thoroughfare and is shopping hub of Madrid (think Michigan Ave. in Chicago). All the major points of interest (Puerta del sol, Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real, Retiro Park) are within walking distance from the hotel so we only used the Metro when arriving at the hotel from the airport and when departing to get to the Atocha train station for our trip to Barcelona. The only caution about the Gran Via is that it can get VERY CROWDED and that Madrillenos really enjoy strolling leisurely in big groups. If you're not such a leisurely stroller/window shopper/ sidewalk blocker, good news is that you can always turn left when exiting the hotel and be on your way through the side streets and away from the crowds. The hotel is new and modern. Yes, as mentioned in other posts, the rooms are cozy and dark with views of the buildings next door. This didn't bother us though as we were only in our room to sleep anyways! Bed and pillows were plush and super comfortable. Rain shower was terrific. While the room wasn't very spacious, we appreciated its clean, modern finishings. We did usually encounter long waits for the 2 tiny lifts. While we generally like staying on higher floors, turns out being placed on the 3rd floor was better for us in this hotel as we always took the stairs. Nearby - Try the Corte Ingles Gourmet Experience (top floor of the department store-like a more refined food court) and Valor - a café for Churros con Chocolate. The Corte Ingles also has a supermarket in the basement if you want to stock your room with big bottles of water or wine. There's also a Dia supermarket by the Pl. Santo Domingo metro stop, away from the Gran Via.

We stayed here for two nights. The location is the best for Madrid ... close to metro, shops & things to see. They are all within walking distance. Room was comfortable & compact. We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel as there so many cafes nearby.

We spent 3 nights in Madrid and this property was centrally located where you could go to most spots on foot - Royal Palace, Plaza de Sol, Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel, etc. We didn't use the breakfast service provided by the hotel but there were some coffee shops and cafeterias nearby on the Main Street serving breakfast as early as 7am so finding places to eat wasn't an issue for us. Our room was pretty small and there wasn't much space for you to stow your bags if you were taking 2 suitcases with you. It was quite hard to get a cab especially in the morning and please get the staff at the front desk to make a booking for you 15 mins ahead of your travel. Special request could be sent to the hotel before your trip, they would try their best to do it for you - like I sent an email to them requesting for room on high floors, they in the end put me on the 8th floor (11th was the highest). I was happy with the arrangement and the service of the staff for this hotel.
"Excellent choice in Madrid"

The hotel is centrally located with easy access to the metro. I only stayed the night at the hotel and My review is for a superior room: The room was spacious, with some pampering amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. Value for money is excellent.

"Great Hotel in the centre of Madrid"
12/19/14 929ScottB929 Peterborough, England, United Kingdom
This hotel is definitely worth a visit. It is ideally located in the centre of town and the rooms are very comfortable and a bit unusual in decor, in keeping with the Indigo brand. The service is friendly and good - they even put up with my appalling attempts at Spanish!! Food in the bar was a little disappointing, but perhaps only in comparison to some of the local restaurants which were very good.
"Perfectly located to see Madrid"
12/18/14 Harold B Newark, Delaware
I stayed in the Hotel Indigo during my 5th anniversary trip to Madrid 06-10 December 2014. Once you get the hang of the Metro, getting from the airport to the hotel is a breeze and there is a station about a half block away. The entrance to the hotel is on a small non-descript city street just off the Gran Via, but once you step through the doors, the exterior ceases to matter. we were immediately greeted by a very friendly, helpful, English-speaking desk staff. We were way early for check-in and they immediately took our bags to storage and offered us several close-by suggestions for food/drinks and sightseeing. When we returned we were immediately given keys to our room and our bags arrived two minutes behind us. The check in could not have gone better. The room was very clean and everything appeared new and the bed was very comfortable compared to a number of hotels we have stayed with. The window treatments were plenty dark and we were able to sleep in as late as we wanted. The only thing missing was a view, our room looked out over the side street above the entrance. But if you're going to Madrid to look at it through a hotel window, you're doing it wrong. We only visited the in-hotel bar one time, but the server was friendly and attentive and she spoke perfect English, much better than my fumbling Spanish. I thoroughly enjoyed the Indigo and if I find myself back in Madrid, I would stay there again without hesitation.
"Great location ,nice little roof top pool!"
12/17/14 Rahul V London
We enjoyed our stay here, location was perfect. And very reasonably priced..around 150Euros per night when we stayed. Nice little roof top pool, perfect hangover cure / chill out after sightseeing. Room was a little on the small side, but more than sufficient. Get a room with the City view, which is bright and airy. Some of the other rooms were a little dark as no windows. Room was contemporary, with a nice bathroom.
