"Great location in Florence with lots of room"
This apartment was more or less as advertised. Great location. Quiet. Lots of room. A few minor downsides: TV didn't work, got a few bug bites but may be due to the fact that we left the window open, two floors with a significant staircase. Nice shower but towels pretty mediocre. Overall, if you don't need the frills of a fancy hotel this is good value […] for the space. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location but it's not a hotel"
There is no reception or front desk. It is very independent, but if you don't mind that, it is a great place. I wanted to stay in a bigger place because I was traveling with my elderly mother and 15 year old nephew. A triple room at a hotel was more expensive than an apartment. I decided to stay at Relais Martinez Florence. When I first got there I […] was concerned because it's an apartment building and no sign with the name, but in a couple of minutes the person in charge was there and he was very nice. Cleaning service is every 3 days but it is fully equipped. Microwave, stove, oven (of course we were on vacation so we didn't use it). No breakfast included, but the location is fantastic. It is literally 2 blocks from the Duomo. There is a pharmacy, and a market across the street and at least 4 restaurants in the block, plus several cafes. It's a quiet safe building and if you don't need the attention a hotel provides this is a great alternative. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic Duomo Vies"
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel right next to the Duomo. Our room was on two floors, both with views of the Duomo from the bedroom and living room area. The landlord was very accommodating, however we had to call him upon our arrival to meet us at the apartment, which was difficult considering we had no cell phone with us in Europe. The rooms […] were airconditioned, which was great due to the heat outside and we were also able to complete our laundry without spending a fortune at a landromat. I highly recommend this hotel to others travelling with young families. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Loistava sijainti ilman palveluja"
"Disappointing experience - adequate apartment"
05/28/14 gloryb2god Washington DC, District of Columbia
I hate giving negative reviews unless something is truly terrible but I have to be honest and fair for the TA forum. This apartment has some good and some bad. The good: nice location 5-10 minute walk from the duomo. Very very clean! Almost like we were the first people to stay there. Wonderful shower! Great communication with the owners. We had some issues that were mostly addressed right away. The snack bar across the street was very nice for breakfast - and very plesant people work there. The bad: some of the fixtures look nice but seem very cheap and flimsy when you get up close -like toys. I turned on the kitchen sink and the faucet fell over. I opened a cabinet to look for silverware and the hinge was loose and falling off. the bed is not especially comfortable and the towels are weird - like linen bread basket liners or cloth napkins. the wifi didn't work and when we found the box it wasn't plugged in. The apartment is too hot for us - 25degrees celcius/ 75 degrees F at the end of may. I have tried to lower the thermostat but it won't adjust. I googled the maker and read the owners manual and turned off the heat but still it will not cool. The owner has apologized and said he will have a technician look at it but that doesn't help us while we are here. All of that may seem nitpicky and I would have overlooked most of it except for the thermostat but for one big problem. I feel like this apartment was a bit of a bait and switch. The relais Martinez website shows lovely pictures with the duomo right outside the bedroom window and gives the address of via servi for the apartment. When we were arriving to Florence I received an email from the owner telling me to go to another address on via Della pergola. I thought it was a mistake since I chose the apartment with the view of the duomo from the window and because of the location. I was advised that they have apartments in multiple locations. Mine is at street level and has a view of a tabac. It is very noisy and we can't leave the windows open while we sleep to relieve the heat because we are at ground level. The apartment itself is fine. A couple of issues need to be worked on. But I really don't appreciate being given pictures of a lovely large and airy apartment with a beautiful view and ending up with a completely different apartment In a different location that is not as nice. If you are going to include this apartment in your rental listings you need to be forthright about its location and amenities. Your website makes it look like you have one apartment building with a couple different rooms with beautiful views. I'm not saying don't book with relais Martinez. I'm saying read everything very carefully. Ask questions about the location you are being placed in. I've gone over my booking information and the address listed is not the address I was placed in. Maybe it is partially my fault for assuming this was the address of the apartment I was choosing. Maybe. I want you to be more careful so you are not disappointed.
"Nice apartment in a great location."

When we first arrived by taxi I thought we had the wrong place because it's an apartment building, no doorman, no lobby, and locked doors. Carlos arrived about 2 minutes after we did and it was a nice surprise. We walked in the building and it is just that, a very nice apartment building! It was like if we were living in Florence. Carlos was great, he explained everything. The apartment is large, a full kitchen with a full size refrigerator, a microwave and stove, a large sofa bed (a little uncomfortable, but not bad) and a small dinning set. There is a small loft where you can relax. On the other side of the entrance there is a large bedroom with a queen size bed and a nice built-in. The bathroom is large and very modern. There is a remote control for the AC/Heater and we kept the room nice and warm. The elevator is small and when you come in at night the hall lights are off so you have to walk to the end of the hall to turn them on. Room service is every 3 days and we were there only 3 days, but we didn't mind. There are several restaurants, cafes, and an ice cream store in the same block, and a nice supermarket across the street. It is literally 2 blocks from the Duomo and you can actually walk to most of the sights and to the train station. The only negative is if you have an afternoon train like we did, there is no place to leave your luggage after you check out, so we waited for a couple of hours at the train station. Carlos suggested we could check our luggage in at the train station but we just opted to wait for the train. This is a nice apartment in a great location.
"Wonderful service, view, and location! Thank you!"
The service from Carlos was very good. The room had an amazing view and cooking facilities. The room kept very warm with minimal heating required. Large apartment for the price and prime location. Thank you Carlos for an excellent service. Oh My only dilemma is the bed which we found very uncomfortable. If there was an excellent bed then I would say this apartment would be perfect. Having said that, my partner and I both have bad backs are are use to quality bedding at home so I'm not judging harshly. Many thanks and highly recommended!

The apartment in Via dei Servi is close to ALL the major sites, literally 2 minutes from the Duomo, yet very quiet and peaceful. It is impeccably outfitted, the wifi works like a charm, and everything you need is there. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. Everything about the place is positive!

我们蜜月来到这里，一共住了3天，这里条件很不错，就在圣百花教堂后边步行5min，附近有超市很方便，房间整洁干净，十分安静，很好的位置，老板人也很好。下次还会再来！ We at honeymoon in florence，live there 3 days，It‘s nice room and very near from Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore，about 5 min on feet，the super maket side of street，the room very clean and quite。I will choose next time。

Wow! Simply awesome accommodation in the absolute heart of Florence. I can't say enough about this property. We arrived in Florence a little later than expected, but our agent was very helpful and didn't mind. He asked us to just let him know 10mins before we arrived and he'd be there. Sure enough, I let him know at the Florence station that we had arrived, and by the time we got to the apartment, he was there as well. The apartment is on a small street in an old building, adding to the charm. The interior of the apartment is hardly old - it was very spacious, well lit, nicely decorated and had EVERY amenity we could have asked for: washer, cooking range, fridge, utensils, fully equipped bathroom and more. We felt at home and safe. There is a small convenience store across the street where we were able to get all our cooking supplies and had breakfast at home a few times. Our 2 kids had enough space to run around the place and we didn't feel cramped as we would have in a hotel room. The location is incredible. You're maybe a 30 second walk from the Duomo and that means you're a 5 minute walk to everything else. We walked everywhere and never felt tired or out of range from the apartment. There are literally a gazillion places to eat around the property, starting with a restaurant right outside the building entrance and a small, beautiful bakery in the next building I couldn't recommend this place more to anyone, especially those traveling with children. You'll feel at ease, able to relax after a long day outside for a fraction of the cost you'd pay for a traditional hotel in the heart of Florence. Absolute no brainer!
