"Worth the short commute"
Tiny room, hard bed, small bathroom. Since I only needed it for sleeping, it was great. The walls are thin, so you will hear people in the hall. Location is excellent with bus stops just out the door heading into Whitehall or Notting Hill. Clapham is much cheaper and better pubs than London.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A good place to stay on a budget"
The room was comfortable & clean. The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions we had about getting around or places we were looking for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right by a train station for access anywhere"
I rated the neighborhood mid-range since there were lots of small, fast food places and barbers and not-so-reputable looking establishments. But if moms are out walking their children, can't be that bad. The Wandsworth Rd train station is a stone's throw away, and that will get you anywhere you need - other train stations to reach all of England or […] train/tube stations to get around greater London. Room was clean, but most European hotel windows don't keep out noise very well. Hotel is on a well-travelled road, so this light sleeper heard everything going by. Staff was polite and very helpful. I did thin the price was too high per night, but I think even rat holes are expensive in the London area. Overall a good place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Good and the Bad"
We stayed in a twin room with a foot of space between the twin beds which both touched the walls on their other sides. The hotel is undergoing renovations but our room had not yet been renovated. Mc Donald's is RIGHT next door!! On the plus side it was clean and the staff was very helpful. It is right on the bus line and the busses run every five to […] six minutes. I found our stay to be better than anticipated. I was visiting London with my son and we needed a place to stay. Knowing we wouldn't be spending much time in the room, we basically needed a place to sleep; and that is what we got. Staff was very nice and helpful and the room was clean. Location was not bad, 5 minute bus ride to the Victoria Line into […] central London. I would stay there again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Average Guest House"
Difficult to access sites from this location. Shower did not drain. Room was tiny. Front desk employees were typical of hostel staff. No AC, usually would not be required.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel. Front desk was very nice and helpful. Small simple rooms but worth the price. Great stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Adequate low cost no frills basic lodging. No complaints, no whoopees. I would stay here again if on a tight budget.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value for the price"
On the plus side, while the room is small, it is very efficient. Was pleased to see a tea kettle, tea bags, and some packets of cookies right in my room. The sleeping area and bathroom were spotless. Towels were newer and absorbent. Chelsea Guest House is very close to the 77 and 87 bus lines and there's an overground station about a 10 minute walk […] away. The reception desk staff are very good at providing directions and will call a mini cab for you if you need it. Was nice to have a window that opened for fresh air. The price is also very affordable, especially for London. On the negative side, the carpet could use a deep cleaning, not just a vacuum. I stayed in a basement room and heard a lot of noise every morning, between other guests and staff. You can hear every time someone goes up and down the steps or closes a door. Even people's voices were loud in the halls. Would like to have found someplace close to get a healthy meal. McDonald's isn't really exciting to vegetarians. I was also disappointed that I had to wait outside for over 10 minutes for someone to meet me at the main building, where the reception desk is, when I arrived to check in. Overall, good value for the price and convenient location, with only minor flaws. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good for overnight only"
Not too many amenities to speak for. There's not even a phone in the room. The receptionist gave good assistance on how to get around and to the sight seeing spot. The hotel is not attractive enough to spend more time other than an overnight stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to central London"
The staff is the best I have seen. The room was clean and updated. I would stay there again Easy bus routes to downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfectly OK hotel in sketchy area"
Finding the hotel was fairly easy which was nice. It is a bit outside the center of London and at times felt a little unsafe. We were able to get to a bus stop and Under/Overground stations fairly easily and did not spend much time in our room. The room itself was fairly small, and sparsely furnished. We had our own very small bathroom with a shower […] that did not drain until after we were out. We appreciated the cleanliness of the room, and the positive, kind attitude of the staff. Show up expecting a hostel feel, rather than a luxury hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Dissapointing but staff wonderful."
Staff where wonderful but I wouldn't recommend taking children as you can hear next door also outside traffic was very noisy. Carpet was stained and toilet filthy. Taxi firm thats recommended I wouldn't use ever again, the night driver was extremely rude and insulting and scared my 13 year old daughter with shouting because we didnt know where he parked […] as it was an unmarked taxi. "Good location, problems with shower"
This hotel was conveniently located close to Paddington. We didn't spend too much time in the room, but the time we did spend there was relatively comfortable. Our only complaints were with regards to the bathroom (keep in mind that we appeared to have been assigned a disabled access room, and therefore our comments may not have been applicable to other […] rooms). The shower did not seem to drain properly leaked all over the floor and even out into the carpet in the room. Additionally, there was no hot water at all when we attempted to use the shower. We didn't try the shower until shortly before check-out, so we did not try to change our room, but it was a rather unpleasant end to what had otherwise been a pretty good stay. No lifts and had to lug the luggage up 4 narrow flights, room has no table, toiletries, complimentary tea/coffee or kettle, small attic dormer window 6feet above floor and opens a 2inch gap, all in all very claustrophobic. "Simple stay, no luxury."
There was no tea-coffee-kettle, unable to provide breakfast. Ł5 voucher would have been given to one of the nearest cafe shop. Window faced to McDonald's backyard (air con and smell). With all this it was a bit expensive for this (Ł45).Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good but no hooks"
Good place, a little bit far from the center but you have a direct bus next to the hotel to go to the center of London. It was well explained by the reception No hooks in the bathroom to hang the clothes/towels, not very practical... small room but enough for only sleep... very nice people at the receptionGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"What to say?"
Had to book for a night stay in short notice. And this hotel was closest to Vauxhall. The area seemed a bit dodgy. Staff was nice, helpful and all. Room is certainly not worth 3 stars, rather 1,5! It was cold. Wind was coming from the window, not fully insulated. The tiniest hotel wc I've ever seen. And still could see the dirts inside. The sink had […] separate hot water taps. Would not recommend this hotel for a couple stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good value"
Lovely helpful staff. One bus ride (No. 87) into London. Comfortable beds but noisy pipes when toilet flushed, and a slightly loose room door which knocked when there was a draught. To be fair though, had we mentioned it they'd probably have moved us. Would stay there again. Free wifi in room was an advantage.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Basic in the extreme"
Thin mattress, curtains falling down, no soft furnishings, bathroom door wedged open with waste paper bin to help defuse the smell. Not much sleep at all. If you can afford something better then advise you do!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"New Mattress Needed!"
The Matress Needs Changing! The rest of the room was good. Would have been better if the large soap dispenser on the wall above the basin was removed as the basin was small and the soap dispenser which was empty meant I could not lean or wash over the basin. Great location for buses and tube into central London. Good that we had our own key for late […] night access. I would stay again but would phone in advance to make sure that they had a room with a new firm mattress. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was easily assessable from the underground station, and near to where I needed to be that morning. It is OK if you just need a bed, but it feels very cheap inside. Clean thoughGenuine Expedia guest review
"Cheap and cheerful"
Very basic accomodation as I went for a standard room. If you're visiting London and just a need a cheap room to sleep then this is fine, if you intend to stay here for long parts of the day go elsewhere! It was adequate for what I needed but in future I would probably pay a little bit more for somewhere less poky.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Minimalist, but let down by faulty window"
Surprisingly clean room - and very minimalist. Two beds, one bedside table, and that's it for furniture! Unfortunately had to wait as no one at reception when we arrived to check in. Window didn't close properly, so morning noise from next door carwash woke us in the morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Conveniently placed for the City, friendly and helpful staff, good value for money, a little noisy as I think our room was below the reception but other than that, we were satisfied.Genuine Expedia guest review

pleasant stay in London with my family. The staff of the hotel are very helpful and polite, but the hotel should be renovated.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ok for the price"
This hotel is absolutely bare minimum. It is fine if you just want a place to sleep. They definitely aren't the extra amenities type though. The $3 per bag holding fee is a bit ridiculous after spending multiple nights there. Overall it is satisfactory as long as you are not picky.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel at a great price"

"Great Little Budget Hotel"
Stayed 5 nights over Wimbledon's 2nd week. On a good bus route(s). Staff helpful making good reccomendations about where to go, how to get there and anything else we needed. Room basic (bed just a bit soft) without tea making facilities but didn't really expect that for the price. Very reasonable, would stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Loved our London stay. Loved the number 77 and 87 buses that leave from just outside the hotel. Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. Room clean and service good. Only major downside, rock hard bed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed here to go to calling festival at Clapham Common and it was ideally located for this. The room was ok but was dirty in places and could have done with tea/coffee making facilities. Very nice building though and friendly helpful staff. Reasonably priced for London but like I said would've liked more for the priceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"small but convenient"
As a small b&b near clapham it's a convenient stop off, fairly cheap for London. But the rooms are very small, the double bed practically fills the room. And there is no way you could get two people into the ensuite shower room. The beds were really comfortable though, and they let us check in early which was appreciated. No kettle in the room and no […] breakfast facilities meant we were walking round clapham on a Sunday morning hungry until we found somewhere open by clapham common. Although they did offer a voucher service for breakfast at local restaurants for £5, we never got round to doing that so can't really complain. I wouldn't book this place for a weekend away as tea in the room is a must, (there wasn't even any plastic cups in the bathroom) but it's good for a cheap stopover if you need to be in clapham. "Excellent value. Highly recommended"
I got the last room at the last minute. A single with ensuite. Everything was fine and it exceeded my expectations . "Good room, close location to city transport"
I stayed at the guesthouse for 2 nights for a mini-vacation between layovers. The guesthouse is about an hour from Heathrow, but there is a bus less than a 5 minute walk from the guesthouse that will take you to a large underground station as well as into the city if you would like. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small but comfortable. […] It was in need of some cosmetic repairs (missing grout and a hole in the wall slightly hidden behind the bed). "Nice hotel for solo/couple"
I stayed here for one night in a single en suite room. The room itself wasn't necessarily big, but plenty of room for just me - and even a chair, nightstand and TV. The shower was hot and had great pressure; everything was very clean. I was 100% satisfied with the hotel. They don't have a continental breakfast, but do offer a voucher for the cafe a […] couple minutes walk away. I didn't get the voucher, but did go to the cafe - only OK. The only downfall to the hotel is it's a 20-30 minute walk to the Underground. However, there is a bus a 30 second walk away. I don't recommend it in rush hour (Faster to walk!) but it takes you straight to the Underground station. Overall, great hotel with helpful staff. Would go here again! "Good standard accommodation in handy location"
This was perfect for what we needed. A short bus ride or pleasant walk from Brixton Academy, and very accessible for the tube into central London the next day. The staff were very welcome and accommodating. Be warned though - the walls of the rooms in the top most floor where our rooms were are very thin - we were woken up at 3.30 am by people talking […] in the next room! "Neither a guest house or a hotel"
Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The location was quite convenient. Bed was fine and I liked the opening window. The guest house lacked some basic facilities such as a towel rail and a mirror low enough to see in if you're not 6 feet tall. There was no common room or sitting area and no shared kitchen, even a microwave would have been good. […] Also needs a shared laundry - coin operated would be fine. Although the towels were clean they are an off putting shade of grey so some new ones (or bleach to whiten vthem) are needed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
