"A good place to stay on a budget"
The room was comfortable & clean. The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions we had about getting around or places we were looking for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right by a train station for access anywhere"
I rated the neighborhood mid-range since there were lots of small, fast food places and barbers and not-so-reputable looking establishments. But if moms are out walking their children, can't be that bad. The Wandsworth Rd train station is a stone's throw away, and that will get you anywhere you need - other train stations to reach all of England or […] train/tube stations to get around greater London. Room was clean, but most European hotel windows don't keep out noise very well. Hotel is on a well-travelled road, so this light sleeper heard everything going by. Staff was polite and very helpful. I did thin the price was too high per night, but I think even rat holes are expensive in the London area. Overall a good place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Good and the Bad"
We stayed in a twin room with a foot of space between the twin beds which both touched the walls on their other sides. The hotel is undergoing renovations but our room had not yet been renovated. Mc Donald's is RIGHT next door!! On the plus side it was clean and the staff was very helpful. It is right on the bus line and the busses run every five to […] six minutes. I found our stay to be better than anticipated. I was visiting London with my son and we needed a place to stay. Knowing we wouldn't be spending much time in the room, we basically needed a place to sleep; and that is what we got. Staff was very nice and helpful and the room was clean. Location was not bad, 5 minute bus ride to the Victoria Line into […] central London. I would stay there again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Average Guest House"
Difficult to access sites from this location. Shower did not drain. Room was tiny. Front desk employees were typical of hostel staff. No AC, usually would not be required.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel. Front desk was very nice and helpful. Small simple rooms but worth the price. Great stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Adequate low cost lodging"
Adequate low cost no frills basic lodging. No complaints, no whoopees. I would stay here again if on a tight budget.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value for the price"
On the plus side, while the room is small, it is very efficient. Was pleased to see a tea kettle, tea bags, and some packets of cookies right in my room. The sleeping area and bathroom were spotless. Towels were newer and absorbent. Chelsea Guest House is very close to the 77 and 87 bus lines and there's an overground station about a 10 minute walk […] away. The reception desk staff are very good at providing directions and will call a mini cab for you if you need it. Was nice to have a window that opened for fresh air. The price is also very affordable, especially for London. On the negative side, the carpet could use a deep cleaning, not just a vacuum. I stayed in a basement room and heard a lot of noise every morning, between other guests and staff. You can hear every time someone goes up and down the steps or closes a door. Even people's voices were loud in the halls. Would like to have found someplace close to get a healthy meal. McDonald's isn't really exciting to vegetarians. I was also disappointed that I had to wait outside for over 10 minutes for someone to meet me at the main building, where the reception desk is, when I arrived to check in. Overall, good value for the price and convenient location, with only minor flaws. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good for overnight only"
Not too many amenities to speak for. There's not even a phone in the room. The receptionist gave good assistance on how to get around and to the sight seeing spot. The hotel is not attractive enough to spend more time other than an overnight stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to central London"
The staff is the best I have seen. The room was clean and updated. I would stay there again Easy bus routes to downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfectly OK hotel in sketchy area"
Finding the hotel was fairly easy which was nice. It is a bit outside the center of London and at times felt a little unsafe. We were able to get to a bus stop and Under/Overground stations fairly easily and did not spend much time in our room. The room itself was fairly small, and sparsely furnished. We had our own very small bathroom with a shower […] that did not drain until after we were out. We appreciated the cleanliness of the room, and the positive, kind attitude of the staff. Show up expecting a hostel feel, rather than a luxury hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel for its rating"
Extremely satisfied ! Highly recomended!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Basic in the extreme"
Thin mattress, curtains falling down, no soft furnishings, bathroom door wedged open with waste paper bin to help defuse the smell. Not much sleep at all. If you can afford something better then advise you do!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cheap and cheerful"
Very basic accomodation as I went for a standard room. If you're visiting London and just a need a cheap room to sleep then this is fine, if you intend to stay here for long parts of the day go elsewhere! It was adequate for what I needed but in future I would probably pay a little bit more for somewhere less poky.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Minimalist, but let down by faulty window"
Surprisingly clean room - and very minimalist. Two beds, one bedside table, and that's it for furniture! Unfortunately had to wait as no one at reception when we arrived to check in. Window didn't close properly, so morning noise from next door carwash woke us in the morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good cheap hotel"
The building is old and so was the room we were staying in but it was clean. Staff we're lovely and accommodated every need we had.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok for the price"
This hotel is absolutely bare minimum. It is fine if you just want a place to sleep. They definitely aren't the extra amenities type though. The $3 per bag holding fee is a bit ridiculous after spending multiple nights there. Overall it is satisfactory as long as you are not picky.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel at a great price"
Hard to find such a nice place, close to London at that price!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only good thing about this hotel was it's proximity to central London and the ease of getting there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Little Budget Hotel"
Stayed 5 nights over Wimbledon's 2nd week. On a good bus route(s). Staff helpful making good reccomendations about where to go, how to get there and anything else we needed. Room basic (bed just a bit soft) without tea making facilities but didn't really expect that for the price. Very reasonable, would stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Loved our London stay. Loved the number 77 and 87 buses that leave from just outside the hotel. Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. Room clean and service good. Only major downside, rock hard bed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed here to go to calling festival at Clapham Common and it was ideally located for this. The room was ok but was dirty in places and could have done with tea/coffee making facilities. Very nice building though and friendly helpful staff. Reasonably priced for London but like I said would've liked more for the priceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"small but convenient"
As a small b&b near clapham it's a convenient stop off, fairly cheap for London. But the rooms are very small, the double bed practically fills the room. And there is no way you could get two people into the ensuite shower room. The beds were really comfortable though, and they let us check in early which was appreciated. No kettle in the room and no […] breakfast facilities meant we were walking round clapham on a Sunday morning hungry until we found somewhere open by clapham common. Although they did offer a voucher service for breakfast at local restaurants for £5, we never got round to doing that so can't really complain. I wouldn't book this place for a weekend away as tea in the room is a must, (there wasn't even any plastic cups in the bathroom) but it's good for a cheap stopover if you need to be in clapham. "Cheap hotel in Vauxhall"
Good economy hotel, about a mile from Vauxhall. No breakfast, but there is a voucher for local resturant at 5.00. I thought it was quite comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent value. Highly recommended"
I got the last room at the last minute. A single with ensuite. Everything was fine and it exceeded my expectations . "Good room, close location to city transport"
I stayed at the guesthouse for 2 nights for a mini-vacation between layovers. The guesthouse is about an hour from Heathrow, but there is a bus less than a 5 minute walk from the guesthouse that will take you to a large underground station as well as into the city if you would like. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small but comfortable. […] It was in need of some cosmetic repairs (missing grout and a hole in the wall slightly hidden behind the bed). "Nice hotel for solo/couple"
I stayed here for one night in a single en suite room. The room itself wasn't necessarily big, but plenty of room for just me - and even a chair, nightstand and TV. The shower was hot and had great pressure; everything was very clean. I was 100% satisfied with the hotel. They don't have a continental breakfast, but do offer a voucher for the cafe a […] couple minutes walk away. I didn't get the voucher, but did go to the cafe - only OK. The only downfall to the hotel is it's a 20-30 minute walk to the Underground. However, there is a bus a 30 second walk away. I don't recommend it in rush hour (Faster to walk!) but it takes you straight to the Underground station. Overall, great hotel with helpful staff. Would go here again! "Good standard accommodation in handy location"
This was perfect for what we needed. A short bus ride or pleasant walk from Brixton Academy, and very accessible for the tube into central London the next day. The staff were very welcome and accommodating. Be warned though - the walls of the rooms in the top most floor where our rooms were are very thin - we were woken up at 3.30 am by people talking […] in the next room! "Neither a guest house or a hotel"
Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The location was quite convenient. Bed was fine and I liked the opening window. The guest house lacked some basic facilities such as a towel rail and a mirror low enough to see in if you're not 6 feet tall. There was no common room or sitting area and no shared kitchen, even a microwave would have been good. […] Also needs a shared laundry - coin operated would be fine. Although the towels were clean they are an off putting shade of grey so some new ones (or bleach to whiten vthem) are needed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location. Good staff. Poor room."
The Chelsea Guest House was very convienient for the activity I was attending - The Moonwalk - within walking distance of Clapham common. The staff were very helpful. The room was disappointing. There was no facility to make a drink, the curtains were falling down and the shower room was very small. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast voucher -£5 […] gave no choice of cafe - just the savoy and had I just gone to the cafe direct the breakfasts we had would not have cost £5 but the breakfast was good but the cafe was like a greasy spoon cafe. "Good Guest House close to transport"
Good Guest House; no complaints. We had a map specially put together for guests attending a Moonwalk at Clapham Common - very helpful. The room was comfy and clean. "Nice Staff, Basic Hotel...."
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room itself was about as basic as it gets. No toiletries in the shower, the bed had a massive dip in the middle, the view out the window was literally a brick wall. "Good budget stay for a night or 2"
Stopped over for just one night for a concert at brixton o2 academy. Only paid £69 for one night which is pretty reasonable for London. Room was basic, nothing special, could do with a bit of attention. Mould on bathroom ceiling wasn't too appealing, Sky light windows were pretty filthy and an upgrade on the beds and pillows would be good but we were […] only staying a night so wasn't too fussed and generally had no problems. Nothing wrong with it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Having stayed in many central London hotels over the years, we were intent on finding somewhere reasonably inexpensive and geographically not too far from our daughter in Wimbledon. Although I would class it more as a hostel than a hotel we were delighted with this place. Our room was sparsely furnished but was clean, comfortable and pretty spacious […] by London standards. The bathroom was more than adequate with plenty of hot water. The staff were delightful and extremely helpful. Location excellent. 2 mins walk from the overground which links to the underground after 1 stop. Bus stop right opposite for Clapham Junction. 15 mins walk from Clapham Common where there are numerous coffee shops, pubs, restaurants. Will certainly stay again. Excellent for the price! "Next door to McD but nothing else near"
Very clean and sensible stripped-down hotel - no bar, restaurant, phones in room, desk, chair, room service or lounge, but good tea/coffee and TV in the room, clean en suite and therefore good value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed at the Chelsea Guest House 17-20th February the first two nights in room 21 a single in the main hotel, the last night in a deluxe double, room 4 in the annex. Both rooms were warm, clean and comfortable. The single was simply furnished, but good value. This hotel was exactly what I needed! My partner and I were in London for 4 days we spend all four days out and about. The hotel offered a clean room with a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. "Very overpriced. BYO everything."
The management of this hotel need to look at other similarly priced hotels and assess their offering. At very least I expect a drinking vessel. This place didn't supply one. "Good value for quick overnight stay"
I stayed overnight ahead of an early work meeting and although the room was very basic with certainly no frills for the price it is good value for money. Although slightly tired in the communal parts and I wasn't sure about the bright red in the corridor the room was clean and tidy. A little more money could have been spent on the duvets and pillows […] and these were very flat and let the room down a little. Staff were very helpful and I would certainly stay there again. "Small and basic"
Nothing in this room. No amnesties at all!! Not even a top sheet on the bed. The bathroom was small no hook for towel or shelf for toiletries and there is mould in the corner of the shower.
