"Buzzing location, unique style."

When we arrived in the evening, the area was buzzing. You go in and it's like a jungle/ pirate ship/ kids den. So pretty cool. We were on the 4th floor and it's like a maze, but still very quirky with graffiti all the way through and holes in the wall. Our room was a decent size and the bed was comfortable. The toilet is alone in a boxed room and the shower/sink are outside on the balcony which are both very odd. It was a little loud until 12ish as the location is slap bang in the middle of everything. The walls are a big let down as you can hear any little tiptoe/ bang/ shuffle etc. in either room next to you. This place is great for travellers. Could do with so noise reduction improvements but a decent stay.
"Suited The Purpose, Met Expectations"

I wouldn't tag Suk 11 with a 'hostel' label as it's not quite the budget accommodation you'd expect in that class. I visited Bangkok for the annual Bangkok Hat Ultimate tournament, booked a single room with an en-suite bathroom and was very happy. It's off the road in Sukhumvit 11, which is a lively part of Bangkok, near the MRT and thus minutes from the shopping centres and attractions. It suited my reason for being there perfectly. It's in a little U-shaped side street packed with interesting eateries and a bar/restaurant with a nicely fleshed out craft beer menu a few doors down. The room itself was much bigger than I expected, possibly because they put me alone in a twin room. The bed was solid (not hollow and creaky like a few other accommodations I've stayed at in Bangkok) and the bedding was fresh and clean. There were towels, soap and toilet paper where you'd expect it, the aircon was cold and the shower was hot with decent water pressure. I think my room was on a busy road, but I was oblivious to any noise there may or may not have been due to a) being a heavy sleeper on a good day, and b) being dead tired due to the sporting tournament and associated parties. Suk 11's hallways are like a labarinth, dark wood decor floor to ceiling, but that ads to its quirky charm. The staff were efficient, although not extremely talkative, I assume their English is not that great, but they were helpful. The breakfast is basic - fruit, bread with peanutbutter and/or jam and coffee, but at least there is breakfast. WiFi is free, but I think it's only in the lobby - I always get a local SIM with Mobile Internet on arrival in Bangkok, so it doesn't really bother me. I enjoyed my stay and will consider it again next year.
"good hostel, not cheap, out of town a little"
02/15/14 LukeandAmyAdventure Jaipur, India
this hostel is to the east of bangkok nearer the airport. ALWAYS MAKE SURE TAXI DRIVERS PUT THE METER ON OR THEY WILL CHARGE YOU DOUBLE. rooms were clean, aircon was good. You can get cheaper but you pay for how quirky this place is.. decor is really funky and there are lots of places to explore. This place is very very popular, so may need to book in advance. staff are not the most helpful, one guy working there was though, the girls look like a wet weekend in blackpool.. air con in our room broke they moved us no worries. restaurant is ok.. but expensive.. eat the street food is safe and costs a fraction of the price.
"Unfriendly staff, poor rooms. Not recommended"

Likes: The central location is Sukhumvit, close to Skytrain and Terminal 21 The list with dislikes is endless., most important are: = Unfriendly staff = Lack of Cleanliness = Poor isolated so very noisy in BKK center = Lack of privacy in bathroom because of thin walls to the corridor = old and noisy A.C. = WIFI, and other basic facilities are payed = Etc. Etc. Not recommend at all.
"Convenient, basic hostel w/ tasty restaurant"
02/09/14 Alex G Boston, Massachusetts
Suk 11 is very close to the above-ground train and water shuttle stops, so it's easy to get around the city from here. There's a basic free breakfast, which is OK, but the in-house restaurant is surprisingly good for lunch and dinner. The lobby and hallways are charmingly decorated (though we wondered if the hanging wood, dead leaves, and nets are a fire hazard) - the rooms are fine - basic, not cramped, but few amenities. The WiFi works well in the lobby, but wasn't available in-room. Safes for valuables were unavailable, though. Also, our towels were a bit mildewy. And some of the staff were a bit cold. Overall, an OK spot to stay if you're looking for something cheap and centrally-located for a couple nights in Bangkok.

We booked a private room at Suk 11 after a blogger, Nomadic Matt, highly recommended it. I am so happy we listened to his advice! The hostel is so unique. People from all over the world congregate in the lobby, the decor is ridiculously awesome, and the attached restaurant is delicious. There are 4-5 amazing looking restaurants next door-- French, Mexican, and a couple upscale looking bars. Our room was clean, the bed was an average ridiculously firm Thai mattress, and the bathroom was decent. Another plus is it is located half a block from the Nana skytrain stop. After getting scammed by several taxis we started taking the BTS everywhere. The only down side was having to lug a 50 pound bag up three flights of steps.

I stayed at the hostel with my sister and it was pretty much like a hotel room with clean rooms and hot water showers. It has an excellent location literally 5min walk to the BTS and terminal 11 shopping centre. Had TV room and laundry and a little restaurant outside if you want dinner Would definitely come back again when I come back to Bangkok
"Friendly, Clean and Easy to Navigate"

I am a solo backpacker and as a first stop from airport, this a great place to regroup and gather yourself. Cheap and tasty breakfast from friendly staff and air conditioning in ensuite basic. For those looking to get to Khao San Rd, its a cheap 90 bht if you get a meter. Will be here again!
"Good location, but got bedbugs"
01/23/14 esasalminen Helsinki, Finland
I stayed for a week in Suk11, and slowly began noticing itchy bite marks here and there. Thought first about mosquitoes or other bugs, but was supicious because some of the bites were in locations normaly covered by jeans, etc. Unfortunately towards the end of my stay I actually saw a bedbug, late at night, crawling away in my bed. I have had bedbugs before, many years ago, and do know what they look like. Killed the bugger (with a nasty blood stain), and the cleaning lady next morning confirmed that indeed, bedbug it was. Hotel staff were very apologetic, gave me another room and steamed my luggage so that I wouldn’t carry the bugs onwards. Otherwise the hotel is comfy, cheap and very nicely located. Di not get more bites in the second room, so probably not all rooms have bugs. I may have been just unlucky, but would probably not stay here again.
Good location 3mins from sky train. Walking distance to main 'hot spots'. Popular bp's hostel (£17pn) for basic twin with hot shower. Has a cool/quirky vibe, gr8 place to meet people. Weak wifi (only able to use near reception area). Pay extra for brkfst. They're not the best helpful/friendliest staff but doesn't put me off staying here again.
