"Relaxful country stay"
Our room was very clean but also very compact. Not enough room for a closet or even a hook to hang your clothes up. There is a TV but it is located in a common area.to share with other guests. If you need a hair dryer - bring your own. The breakfast was very good and there is plenty of outside deck space to sit back, relax. and enjoy the country si […] de. "Wonderful place ... no one in site"
It is a great place inside .. very comfortable and well decorated. Was an odd experience as no one there on check in when we got there at 4:30, wine bar and little gift room were closed all night, luckily saw a worker as we were getting in car to get dinner. They were not able to adjust breakfast for our needing to get out a little earlier to catch […] a flight, but did leave out some granola and juice. Facility is nice, not much for views.. I am sure they are a nice staff but never saw them. Odd. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great respite from Flagstaff 'motel row'"
The Abineau Lodge is situated not far from 'motel row' in Flagstaff but a world away! It is a lodge in every sense, with the best breakfasts anywhere (really- the best pancakes I ever ate!). Rooms are woodsy-motif, with views of Ponderosa Pines. Clean, modern baths with plenty of hot water & soft facial tissues- not those thin & crunchy hotel standard […] tissues. Wine bar inhouse too. Definitely recommend... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"We had hoped for more..."

We were compelled to try the lodge based on its high rating from Rosie Romero of "Rosie on the House" fame - a weekly AZ radio show about all things related to home ownership. First the room, it was quite small but warm, snug and cozy. We stayed on the second floor so had a nice view out the back of the house into the forest. The room was very clean and well-maintained. Wendy, the owner greeted us even though we checked in late. The breakfast the next morning was tasty and made to order though you were given no options. The location of the house, though out of town, was near a RV storage facility and some other unkept properties. You will not see this from the lodge photos. Also the photos show cute table decorations and a sitting area on the ground floor, they have changed the layout of this area. It was just so, so. Nothing memorable. They are closing the B&B in early November to covert it into an event center. It felt like maybe since they are winding down the B&B part of the business they have stopped putting in the effort to make things as nice as the photos indicate.
"What a great place!"

This was our first time staying at Abineau and my boyfriend and I absolutely loved it. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location is a little south of Flagstaff, but it was quiet and beautiful. Our breakfast in the morning was excellent. The staff was warm, friendly and able to answer any questions we had. We will definitely be back again!
"Nice Alternative for Business Travel"

Nice alternative to typical hotel stay for business travel. Relaxing environment just outside the city with wine bar, great breakfasts, and common area for guests to relax, read, watch a little television if you must, or enjoy your glass of wine. Customer service is great!

My daughter and I were on a cross country moving trip with a small dog. Set in a rural area, the Abineua was a perfect respite after a long drive. We enjoyed a bottle of wine on the deck while the hummingbirds buzzed around our heads. It is a bit out of town and we did not want to drive in for dinner so asked for our options. There was one, the local dive bar within walking distance. I wish we had opted to eat there rather than carryout, a cool, little, local tavern, if you know what I mean. We were the only ones for breakfast and it was delicious! If I head that direction again, I would stay again. It was comfortable, quiet and clean. Our only issue was with a guests dog being unleashed which the Wendy addressed.
"Well worth the money"

We stayed here for only one night as a brief escape from the Phoenix heat. It was a great experience. The staff interaction was top notch from making a reservation to checking out. There are no TVs, and that was actually a selling point for me. You can watch TV anywhere, you're tucked into the mountains, enjoy it! It was our first "Happy Saturday" vacation, the last Saturday before the school year begins again (my girlfriend is a teacher), and it will be an annual vacation from here on.
"Weekend r and r"

Very nice place with a friendly staff. Great big breakfast both mornings that was yummy. Great place to get away from the city and relax. Out in the country away from town but close enough to go for dinner and shop
"Definitely regret that we stayed here"

After all the great reviews we were so happy to be staying at a B&B for our weekend getaway than a 2 star hotel for the same price. Even though what we were doing was in Flagstaff, we thought it would be nice to be out of town and to sit on the deck in the woods. We didn't get to the B&B until after 6:30pm so there was no one there when we went in. The wine bar, which was supposed to be open until 8pm, wasn't open and there was no one around. Later found out the owners were out of town so we couldn't bring our own alcohol and we couldn't have a glass of wine on the patio like we had hoped. And it's too far out of the way to head back into town for a drink or two. We didn't want to call someone and have them come open the bar just for us so we made tea and watched the coming monsoon storm on the patio. The rooms are small but cozy. The bed was too soft, even for me and the pillows (you get one) are small and flat. Had to use the decorator pillow underneath. Picked a few hairs out of the sheets and the sheets were so old that it was hard to tell if there were clean or not. However, they were very soft. Bad time to forget my pillow that I usually take on road trips - even to hotels. Our bathroom was gross. There were hairs all over and I had to rinse out the bathtub several times before I could take a bath. You get one set of towels per person. So if you want to shower at night and morning, save your towel and hope it dries before you need it again. If you go I'd suggest you ask for another set if you think you'll bathe twice. The place could use some freshening up. The deck in the back just had some plastic and mesh chairs. I commented that it would be so nice to have some comfy outdoor couches and cocktail tables out there for relaxing. It would also be the perfect place for a hammock for two under a gazebo. We did enjoy rocking on the rocking chairs and sipping tea and coffee on the front porch under the arching back of the very friendly kitty who must live there. It feels like you're in someone's house so when someone got up around 5:30am and slammed the doors, it felt like being at home. You can hear people walking down the hallway so it's not the most quiet and private place. The tv in the rec room could use some videos, the games could be updated but it was nice to have snacks available since it's so far out of the way from any food. It would have been nice to have been greeted with a snack when we arrived like at other B&Bs that we've stayed at but that's just a suggestion. Breakfast was an egg casserole, hash browns, a small slice of watermelon, a warm tortilla (?) and some pre-made, pre-cooked rubber-like sausage patties. Again, the worst of any other B&B that we've stayed at. Since I make a better breakfast while out camping, it certainly didn't help the overall impression of our stay. We didn't end up talking to anyone and the only staff we saw was a woman who served us breakfast. She also checked us out when we were finished. We definitely wouldn't stay here again but perhaps it would have been different if we didn't feel like we were left to ourselves. The location and the quiet were wonderful but that's not enough to make it feel worth our while or our money.
"Favorite place in Flagstaff"
07/20/14 AZcanyonhiker Phoenix, Arizona
Now that we've stayed here, I'm not staying anyplace in the Flagstaff area. We have friends in the Mountainaire vicinity just up the hill so it's very convenient for us. It's only a 10-minute drive south of Flagstaff to get out of the city and relax on a deck adjacent to the forest. A small but class act. Small in this case is good - intimate, like visiting someone's home. Breakfast was excellent.

Pretty, cosy, class, quiet Just what special people are looking for In the middle of no where but close to city , nice wood chalet With a friendly cat waiting for you at the entrance . It worth for sure the price around 100$ a Night Thanks to all who take care
"Cozy lodge in the woods"
07/09/14 Ratheesh P Las Vegas, Nevada
During our travels we prefer to stay in quaint family owned B&B's rather than the corporate hotel chains which look and feel the same everywhere. We are glad that we opted for Abineau Lodge in Flagstaff. It's a cozy place in the woods but not too far from Flagstaff town center (6 miles). Rooms are small but comfortable. Breakfast was good and different on each day. The cork screw bar at the lodge has an excellent collection of wines and ales. The common recreation room has TV, refrigerator, coffee machine and other facilities which are not provided in the room. The owner and her son who live next door was very helpful and responded to our late night help call when our restroom door got locked and refused to open. The best part of the stay is the beautiful walks in the woods around the lodge where you can easily spot wild Elks and Deer. It was also very close to Oak creek Canyon (30 mins) and Sedona (50 mins). Highly recommended.
