Old hotel, furniture, and room, but everyday linen change and room maintenance was good. If one wants to utilizes the kitchen most, this hotel is a good choice. The location is at key point, just a hop from the big Stanley park and just across the road is the English Bay. Big shopping places nearby. Groceries and many type of eateries on the same road. The constant music played on the street can be disturbing sometimes. The room had no AC provision, just a small fan. The complimentary hot chocolate/coffee, and limited free browsing at the reception are plus points. Suitable for some type of trips.
"Good location, but disappointing hotel"
09/29/13 Laura G Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
The location is great, near to English Bay, Davie Street and on Denman Street. Easy to go to Stanley Park, to eat and take a bus to Downtown. But the hotel is so old. The room was big with a small kitchen, but with a lot of old furniture, smelly, dark carpet, not clean enough, bustling noyse, dark room. We couldn't open the curtain because it was on first floor, with a view to the street. The staff is not welcoming. It was an effort to stay more than one night.
"Location was good"

Its location was convinient to access shopping areas and the park. So if you move around the North and south of the city this hotel was good but if you stay at the hotel for a long time. The hotel was old not so good but the space of the room was huge and small kitchen and refrigerator were equiped and it was difficult for us to get in and out of its parking lot in our car. also we payed 10 dollers per night.
Disappointing hotel, rooms not clean, the staff is not welcoming, bustling noisy location, small hotel, more like a cheap motel, does not fit the definition that appears in advertising (3 star), recommends to stop marketing it on the Internet. There is no lobby has a kind of a room with a reception desk, there is a difficulty upon arrival by public transport, and therefore requires the use of taxis or rental car (VP basement parking cost hotel, hotel owned high). Hotel not recommended )
"Best deal in Vancouver Value and Location"
08/24/13 neilm18 Toronto, Canada
I had reserved the room via the internet, trying to fine the best deal since hotels in Vancouver are pretty expensive, I checked out reviews which in general appeared pretty good. We arrived on the 18th of August, just seeing the lobby did not give us too much encouragement. when walking in the door,, there was a heavy smell of recently cooked food.........we checked in by a very courteous desk clerk, given the key to our room, and took the elevator up to the room, no bell boy service at the Hotel, we entered our room, and were amazed at the size of it, two large double beds, a change, storage room off the hall into the bathroom, I checked the beds which had very clean sheets, the mattress was clean and comfortable, once into the room there was a diningroom table with 4 chairs, a fridge, microwave kitchen counter with sink, toaster, coffeemaker, with a suppy of coffee, sugar and cream, Great to wake up, make coffee have toast or sandwhich yogurt etc. We opened the courtains, and looked directly at the building next door, however we were not there to look out of windows, we never heard noises at night. The room was amazing for size, cleanliness, the tv worked fine lots of channels,we never again smelled food either in the lobby or on the floors. One needs to leave the key at the desk when leaving, so we had interaction with several of the staff members who went out of their way to be helpful in a pleasant manner The location? fantastic front door on Denman Street, English bay across the street, we had a beer at a bar down the street watching the sun set, fantastic! Banks, shopping centres within 5 minutes walk Bathroom great, we did go out and buy a bathmat in order not to slip in the bath tub, but then we are "mature persons" Both of us would highly recommend this hotel
"Great location and decent room"

We're a group of friend of 5 staying there during Aug 2nd weekend. The room has 3 beds and kitchen with microwave and refrigerator. We saw AC units but it's not on and we don't need because the weather was perfect. The included wifi connection was great. The location is perfect, walking distanct to almost all major parts of Vancouver and a quick jog right next Stanley Park. Parking was horrible but it's hard to blame them for being in middle of center of city. The staff is very friendly . Overall i recommend this hotel to budget travellers.
"Good location little else"
08/01/13 Josh884 Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Spent the night there to catch the fireworks (probably will never stay here again though) First the good: -The suite is large with two separate bedrooms, a kitchen and a dining area. -You cannot beat the location which is why we stayed here. Seconds from English Bay and right outside is a strip of great little places to eat and shop. Now the bad: -Lots of street noise can be heard inside the streets so you won't get a peaceful nights rest. -Rooms are dirty - ours had dried pee stains on the toilet, mold in the showers and the hotel in general smells -Apathy from front desk - examples: (1) due to a booking error on their end they couldn't find our reservations and were about to tell us we were [--] - [--] out of Luck - until I got angrier with them. Then they finally were willing to look harder and magically find our reservation. Otherwise, we'd probably have been sent home. (2) No air conditioning in suites. I asked if there was air conditioning in the suite and the response from the front desk was - no joking - "go open a window." (3) Parking tunnel (for lack of a better term) is so narrow and tight to get your car into. Also they only have a handful of spots so during a busier time they might send you away to another lot. Be aware of this when staying for Celebration of Light in July, etc. Summary: Good place to stay if you are just wanting a place close to the beach but that's about it. However, due to the street noise chances you get a peaceful sleep are next to none. We were woken up at 4a.m. and at 6a.m. by street cleaners. That is only after being able to go to bed at 1:30a.m. after the drunk screaming idiots finally left (mind you it was fireworks time). Also, stay here if you pretty much are o.k. with being told short of "[--] you" by the front desk if you need something. Finally, if you don't mind stench and human body stains this might be a good place for you. If I have to stay near English Bay again I'll spend a bit more and do the Best Western as at least they have standards.
"a great week"

we spent 8 nights. the rooms were like an apartment still wiyh a full fridge & stove. location excellent near everything store and allkinds or restaurants & bars. the hop on hop off bus stop was across the street Stanley Park was a five minute walk away. if you like waking a 20 minute walk you arrive at the Aquatic Center you walk down and catch a ferry to Grandville Island another fantastic place all around English Bay but that is for another review .but hotel is not a fancy plsce but if you just need a place to sleep and sight see this is great. parking is under ground down a steep ramp

Perfect ubication, people sooooo kind and useful, good price if you compare with any other. And the room is big and clean. Wifi everywhere and coffee for free. I can not ask for anything else. I can't say anything bad
"Good value for money"
07/07/13 Rosemary P London, United Kingdom
Having spent 7 nights in 3 short stints I can attest to the very helpful and friendly staff, the rooms we had were clean and comfortable, the beds very comfortable and clean, plenty of storage which we didn't need, adequate self catering kitchen, fridge/ freezer, bathroom facilities very good, good coffee and coffee machine in rooms, good view on the street side( ear plugs sort the evening noise). Laundry available. Not a lot of space in the rooms but you don't really need too much when staying in such a gorgeous place as English Bay. great supermarket 2 blocks away and superb choice of restaurants on the doorstep, right on the bus route The staff were kind enough to store luggage for us for a week while on a cruise and again overnight when we spent a night in Victoria. That sort of consideration is a huge help when you are travelling. If you are looking for budget self catering accommodation in a great location, this is the place.
