"Small but cool; walkable"
We knew the rooms would be small when we booked, and indeed ours was. It doesn't matter though - they are new, spotless, with a well-designed Euro vibe, and utilitarian chic. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. A word of caution - forget privacy if you need to use the toilet in a "certain way" - the see-thru glass wall and the gapped sliding […] door separating the bathroom from the bedroom offers little. If you are a couple, turn up the sound or just leave the room when needed..... The open rooftop bar is cozy and fun. The neighborhood is cool with several good restaurants. The Crepe Cafe across/down the street is great for breakfast, and Little India down the street is terrific for Indian food. Hip shopping all around. Bottom line - we would stay at the Hotel Beverly again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I really liked this hotel. It is neat, clean, in a great location, with friendly and helpful staff. There is also a treasure trove of local eateries around it. I did have one problem, however, the air conditioning in the place isn't very powerful, so if you are warm natured, like I am, then you might want to consider somewhere else.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No Bathroom Privacy"
My fiancee and I stayed at The Beverley in July for a long weekend to catch a Blue Jays game and tour Toronto. The hotel is in a really great location convenient to the Skydome, the CN Tower, and the many bars and restaurants. The rooms were quite small, but clean and well maintained. The roof-deck bar is a nice place to have a drink to start or end […] the evening. Our biggest complaint about this hotel is the design of the bathroom. There is a floor-to-ceiling, completely clear glass panel looking right in on the toilet meaning you are COMPLETELY on display to whomever else is in your room while doing your business. I am at a loss as to how anyone thought that this was a good decision. It really put a damper on our stay at this hotel as one of us had to leave the room while the other used the toilet so they could have some privacy. If you're traveling alone, this probably isn't an issue for you. But for us, this alone will prevent us from ever staying at this hotel again and we will recommend that others stay away as well. This situation seems like it could be so easily fixed: Just frost the glass or at least put up some kind of curtain. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Happening neighborhood, silly rooms"
This hipster hotel is artsy and funky, in the heart of a really lively neighborhood, great for walking around soaking up the city life. The staff was also very nice and helpful. But the room was so ridiculously tiny, we laughed when we walked in. It's like being in an Ikea showroom display of a hotel room. The bathroom is also disconcerting. Thank […] goodness we've been married a while because there is zero privacy between the room and the bathroom. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice boutique hotel in the heart of Toronto!"
Overall, it was a pretty nice place to stay...small boutique hotel literally in the center of downtown Toronto with helpful staff, nice rooms (very clean though just a little small) and solid service...would definitely stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great customer service"
When checking in our room was right next to the receptionist's desk, which was a bit awkward. We asked if we could change rooms and they said yes. We moved to another room the next day and it was actually bigger.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was tiny and I could hear every noise on the hall.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Friendly hotel at downtown."
I can recommend this hotel to single or couple travelers as the rooms are tiny and cold for children. I enjoyed my stay. The nearby restaurants and bars are friendly. The convention center is in walking distance.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Small room but very nice!"
Went to the Rogers center for a Red Sox game and stayed here and it was close! Great place for two people!Genuine Expedia guest review
Well located on trendy Queen Street West near downtown but don't expect this to be good for business travel. Rooms are very sweet, clean, fresh but minute - elevator slow like from '50's to service way too many rooms crammed into a small renovated urban building. If you like carrying suitcases up and down stairs and have all the time in the world, then […] it is very good value for money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Convenient location, relatively small but clean and well-kept room. Only con is that the bathroom has a glass door, which was a little strange. But otherwise, excellent.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect Hotel Experience"
Came in from L.A. late. Great reception by staff member on duty. I would describe hotel as small Euro boutique hotel. Very well maintained. Great bar/restaurant below the hotel. Super clean. Had zero problems with heat and air. Location is outstanding. Overall great value. Definitely would stay there again. Manager of Hotel is very friendly and eager […] to please his guests. "The sincere people made all the difference!!!"
The decor was modern and unique (4 stars). When I first got there, I was given a room that smelled like smoke (2 stars). The staff immediately apologized and re-assigned a different room to me (3 stars). At my arrival and departure, the elevator did not work (2 stars), but the staff willingly carried my suitcases! The temperature in the room was either […] too hot or way too cold (sometimes I had to sleep in warm pants and my coat) (2 stars). The hot water in the shower was not actually hot, it was little bit warmer than warm (2 stars). The rooms were tiny, but considering that this hotel was more of an European style, I understood the size and the decor. Hotel did not have any maps of the nearby areas or any general city maps. Despite of the inconveniences and hotel not having a complementary breakfast, they did have coffee, hot tea and green tart apples available 24 hours. I interacted with 4 staff members and each one of them was sincere, polite, smiling and truly willing to help! (3 stars) When I thought about how I would rate this hotel and what made it different from any other 3 star hotel and experience, I immediately thought of the 4 staff members with whom I interacted. I cannot stress how polite they were and expressed a genuine care and willingness to help with various situations -- it is because of those 4 individuals who work at the Beverly Hotel that I am upgrading the star status from 3 to 4 stars. The right people working there made all the difference!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Opened in July 2014. Too many opening issues. Elevator slow and not easily accessible . No lobby and entrance on second floor. 20 rooms all very small. No desk or chairs. Tiny bathroom with shower. Great restaurant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The location of this hotel was excellent."
I loved this hotel. It is within walking distance to great shopping, restaurants, and coffee shops. The convention center, CN Tower, Blue Jays stadium are all within walking distance. Taxis were readily available. The restaurant located in the hotel was excellent as well. A tiny boutique hotel with a luxury feel to it. The rooms are small, but well […] laid out. The staff was very nice and the rooms and hotel were very clean and very comfortable. It would be difficult to share a room with another person for an entire week. The elevator was not in service during my stay. Carrying my bag up a flight of stairs was not a problem for me. I loved it and will definitely stay there each time I am in Toronto. "Great for voyeurs"
Our main issue with this hotel was the bathroom. Although very sleek, modern and appealing, the room featured a window into and no door to the bathroom, so ... no privacy. This may be of interest to others, but I doubt we would have booked this hotel knowing that.Genuine Expedia guest review
Go to the next intersection and pay $10 more to stay at the Hilton. The Beverly has a new rooftop patio one floor above our room with extremely loud music and customers screaming and partying till 3am on a weekday. Only type of coffee they had in stock was decaf - very disappointing after a poor sleep in an extremely hot room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"great for out of town musicians"
Our stay was very enjoyable, overall. Somewhat disappointed with restaurant; small portions, over-priced. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was small, but very modern and clean. "Great location, new hotel"
Room was tiny which I was expecting, but it's a different experience in person! Glass window on bathroom was odd, something to keep in mind if you are staying with someone. Hotel is still new and well maintained. Very very very clean and smelled great. I had to check in at 12am, happy to be greeted by door staff and front desk was also friendly. "Conference in Toronto"
I stayed at the Beverley because it was half the price of the hotel that was hosting the conference. The hotel is in a clean safe area within walking distance of hotels like the Sheraton, Hilton and Shangri-La. The room I had was very small with no table or chairs. TV on ceiling. Kind of like a dorm room. I didn't ask but I am sure there are larger […] rooms. I would not stay here again if I had to work on my laptop and there is no real way to do that in this kind of room. small rooms- don't bring much luggage: modern and very comfortable though: really friendly and helpful staff: the restaurant downstairs does a great brunch: the elevator is so slow- its quicker to walk: the TV is in the ceiling and comes down automatically when you turn it on- appeals to the James Bond nerd in me. "Great location pity about the size."
Over all I enjoyed my stay in The Beverley Hotel. The hotel was clean, fresh and the staff were really great and did anything to assist during the stay. The bed was comfortable. The wifi was good and the rooftop bar was great for a pre/post dinner drink. the location on Queen St West was great for downtown Toronto. Unfortunately the room was quite small […] and didn't have a window, which lead to it being quite warm at night, the a/c did not make much difference either, the room could have also done with a table or shelf to store wallet, keys, phone etc. It was also quite noisy early in the morning and the housekeeping staff came around early enough approx 09.30, glass door to bathroom was interesting! :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small, windowless room"
We were staying in Canada for over two weeks so had large suitcases that we struggled to fit in the room - fortunately there was space to stow them below the bed. The space would be sufficient if only carrying luggage for a few days. There wasnt much privacy between the ensuite and the main room so make sure you're comfortable with your travel companion! […] There was no window to the outside with the only natural light coming from a light 'tube' going to the roof. The only elevator was quite slow so we found ourselves mostly using the stairs. On the plus side the location is excellent - close to landmarks and public transport. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel has a cool rooftop cocktail bar that served nice food. We didn't spend much time in the hotel so its shortcomings didn't detract much from an excellent few days in Toronto. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great little boutique hotel in downtown Toronto. Friendly staff, great location. Tiny room, but incredibly well designed. My only issue with the hotel was that my room was never cleaned for the four days/three nights I was there. It was most likely more bad timing than anything else. Twice I was in the room when the cleaning staff came by, but to my […] knowledge they didn't attempt to return later. Wasn't an issue, but found it a bit odd. "Little hotel with a lot of heart"
Great hotel. Rooms are very small (think NYC small) but if you're just looking for a place to crash in great area of Toronto it's all you need. Very clean and modern rooms but as others have said, the bathroom door is glass so you need to be on more than friendly terms with your roomate. I stayed there with my daughter who is in a wheelchair and it […] was very do-able even though the elevator and room was small. I'm not sure if my daughter's wheelchair is full width, but getting into the elevator was very tight and we only had a small piece of luggage. The staff was very accomodating though and always offered to take our luggage up for us and assist us with the elevator. Her chair had enough width to get around the room but only barely - we did not stay in the wheelchair room though as it was already booked. Even the hallways were narrow so it would be tight getting around in a full size chair I think. If you stay here make sure you go downstairs to the restaurant. We had brunch and it was awesome. We didn't have a reservation for the restaurant and they had a big booking, but they fit us in anyway and treated us like gold. We were there for a Jays game and it's an easy walk to the stadium. "Small, Stylish & Convenient"
I enjoyed my stay at the Beverly! It was adventure made pleasant by professional and helpful staff. The room was tiny but well designed and perfect for one person not spending considerable time in the room. My only concern, which is typical of a big city downtown hotel was that of parking expenses. Overnight was 20.00 in a nearby, very convenient, outdoor […] but well lit lot. The day rate was 20.00 more! Perhaps a little voucher to help out with parking would be thoughtful. "Great place for shopping on Queen St W"
The room was extremely clean. The glass wall separating the bathroom from the rest of the room is an odd choice however. The lack of an exhaust fan in the bathroom is a definite minus in my opinion. We thought the Beverly was a really cool hotel and the location was really great for getting around. For being on a very busy street the room was extremely quiet. "The truth just may set you free"
The customer service issues spoil it all. We had 3 people staying for 5 days, that is 15 hotel nights, and we still couldn't get enough quality service to make a return a guarantee. Upon arrival, with heavy equipment that would need transportation to and from the hotel daily, the elevator was broken. We were informed by one staff that it would be fixed […] the next day, and by another that it would be fixed in three days, neither of which transpired. The wifi internet service was down, and similar indications regarding a pending fix turned out to be false. Another customers was informed the wifi simply doesn't work on Apple devices, within minutes of us being informed it was actually still down! Further, the rooms are tiny, without a work table, and too few electricity sockets (2) for today's energy-hungry traveller. The beds are okay. My room was cold in January, with an inability to resolve the issue from within the room or upon complaint, for over half my stay! My conclusion is that the Beverley is an entrepreneur's implementation of a boutique hotel, but s/he likely burned through too much cash already and now has cash flow issues and so is finding it difficult to spend on bringing creature comforts - elevator, heat, wifi - to standard. The alternative is those items have been suspended from the cost side of the operation indefinitely, in order to improve the bottom line and feed some personal "must have" of the owner. The place looks good, but it definitely disappoints. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very noisy rooms"
The rooms in this hotel could most charitably be described as "compact". And by that I mean that they contain a bed with about two feet of floor space around the perimeter. However, aside from the rooms themselves, my main memory of this hotel is the level of noise all around. Wooden floors in the corridors which means that every slamming door and footstep […] is heard, the reception desk itself being next to the rooms on the first floor, which means that every ringing telephone and every check-in conversation is heard, and - best of all - the bar on the ground floor with a thumping bass which is heard until well after midnight. A shame really as with a bit of sound insulation the hotel could be quite nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Too Small and Poor Thermostat"
Stayed at the Beverly for one night and the two issues were the size of the room, which was absolutely tiny, but more importantly the comfort of the room.
