"Superbly done and very helpful"

These full size apartments are well located and have been done to a very high standard. Everything you could possibly want is included, with the kitchen in particular fully stocked for self catering. I slept better than I have in some years as the bed was so comfortable. It is close (walking distance) to a very reasonably priced restaurant district (Food is one of the best reasons to visit Montreal) and there is a supermarket nearby. Only a few miles to the Jean Talon food market, where you can get anything and everything you might think of. The apartment was spotless and everything worked. Reasonably priced, and certainly a better option than a hotel which would have cost more. Our host, Mio (apologies if I have mis-spelt) was friendly, and eager to help - a joy to deal with. Everything was executed very professionally. We will be going back again.

(Écrivez-moi si vous avez des questions) I spent 6 nights, May 6 to 10, 2013 in apartment 4042. I loved everything about this place : It's a few seconds walk from Parc Lafontaine, a 3 min. drive to downtown, shopping on Mt-Royal street was the best ! The apartment has everything you need (cook, sleep, shower, rest, tv necessities). Bed is comfortable, when windows are closed, you hardly hear street noise. I also felt safe. Owners live on the ground floor. Feel free to write if you have any questions.

The apartment was perfect and comfortable. By far the best place we've stayed away from home. The owner was incredibly helpful and friendly. Its located on a relatively quiet street centrally located between all the cool spots in Montreal. We had a 10-15 drive to every place we wanted to see. Bixi bikes to rent were close as well as a bus stop. My wife LOVED the heated floors in the kitchen and bathroom. Just awesome. You will not be disappointed.

I stayed twice at Loft J Cartier on the top floor and on the street floor. It is very convenient as I am coming for work in Montreal and my wife and son could enjoy the area. The apartments were different but very comfortable. The sofa bed is not that great but it would be the only minus. You have a free parking so you can use the BIXIE to visit the city. The Tunisian couscous restaurant is the best in Montreal, order it, pay (only cash) you can have delivery if you want ans enjoy a great dinner in the comfortable apartment. I also want to say that the landlady is one of the nicest person I ever met

We stayed a week. The apartment was well laid out for our family - we even had dinner guests one night. Very clean, recently renovated, very well furnished with everything we needed. Great location for getting around - quiet street very near but not in the midst of the action. Landlady delightful. Parking and air conditioning a true plus. landlady even arranged laundry service for us at a great price. We'll be back!

What a wonderful apartment! It had everything we needed, and then some. And it was so comfortable and imaginatively decorated! The building has five apartments for rent. There are two small one-bedroom apartments on the ground floor, and three larger one-bedroom apartments on the second and third floors (second and third floor walk-up apartments are very common in this part of the Plateau). The apartments are spotless and fully furnished with bed linens, towels, dishes and every appliance you could possibly need. There is even a little parking lot in back of the building, which is a big deal in a crowded city. My husband and I stayed in the second-floor apartment with a friend. We took the bedroom, and our friend slept on the pullout couch in the living room. The room could be left open to the dining room or completely closed off with movable windows and a door for privacy. It was as if there were two bedrooms. The neighborhood is interesting and trendy, and very residential. There is a supermarket, a convenience store and a park within two blocks, and restaurants and neighborhood stores a little further out. Unfortunately, the closest Metro stop is about a mile away, a bit of a walk if your hands are full. But overall, I highly recommend these apartments and plan to stay again on our next trip to Montreal. Note: Bring your own soap, shampoo, and coffee. They are not provided.

This place is neat, well decorated, quiet and comfortable. Eveerything you need is provided and the area is close to shopping and parks. As seniors, the only drawback was the very steep steps from the street to the door and then the steeper ones inside the building to the apartment. Once inside, there are many more steps throughout the apartment. Anyone with small children or mobility problems woudl find this difficult. Other than this, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly return on our next trip to Montreal.

We stayed for four nights in the apartment on the lower floor. It is very comfortable and well decorated - particularly the bathroom...beautiful! Our hosts were very helpful when we had questions and the apartment had everything we needed. It is also in a great spot. We were able to walk to the metro station (there are a couple to choose from depending on the direction you are heading in) and the main streets in the Plateau area with great restaurants and cafes were also a short walk away. The lovely Parc La Fontaine is just around the corner and was beautiful for a relaxing stroll. We had a wonderful time in Montreal :)
"Great place to stay, and great location."

I've stayed seven times, for one to two weeks each stay. The comments below apply to apartments #1 and #2, as I'm not familiar with the newer apartments. The apartments are well-designed and comfortable, very clean on arrival, and easy to keep clean. The photos and videos on the Loft Jacques-Cartier website are accurate, though the videos give a better impression of the room layouts, decor, and furniture. Annoyingly, I sleep better there than at home. Loft Jacques-Cartier is located on a tree-lined street in a walking neighborhood, one block northeast of beautiful Parc Lafontaine. Within two blocks is a small convenience store, a bank, a self-service laundry, some small restaurants, several bus stops, and a public bike station (BIXI). About four blocks away is Avenue du Mont Royal, loaded with restaurants and shops, and an all-night grocery store. The proprietors, Mio and Normand, are friendly and helpful, yet never intrusive. In all seven visits, I've encountered only one problem -- on the first visit -- involving intermittent Wi-Fi connectivity, which may have been the fault of my laptop. Nonetheless, the next day Normand appeared with tools in hand, and quickly provided a wired Ethernet connection! I'm looking forward to my next visit.
