Location is nice and quite. The apartment we stayed is very comfortable and clean. The best thing is free parking.
The owner, Mia, she's very friendly and helpful. Definitely Wil stay there again for my next visit

The large apartment was finished nicely and the bed was comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and it was great having a parking place! Right by a large, lovely park too.

Great location near Parc La Fontaine for daily walks or run. Convenience store on the corner to pick up a few things if like to prepare your own meals. Very nice decor throughout the loft.

Travelers from out of state really rely on reviews when choosing lodging, so thanks to TripAdvisor we settled upon Loft Jacques-Cartier, and they did not fail to disappoint! Very easy to get to and the location is perfect. Every morning we went for a run down the beautiful and scenic Rue Duluth to Parc Mont-Royal and back, stopping for croissants and fresh juice, while the teenagers went to the Parc La Fontaine, which is right across the street from the lofts. It's also close to the Bixi, markets, restaurants, and banks.
We walked more than once to Boulangerie Les Co'Pains d'Abord for croissants and baked goods, which I would highly recommend, as well as the restaurant Le Chien Fumant, also highly recommended. You won't be disappointed by either.
Besides the convenient location, the lofts themselves were absolutely beautiful - a traveler's dream. After a day of driving it was VERY refreshing to park and open the door to a clean, cool, wonderfully decorated and roomy apartment. With 2 adults and 2 teenagers, we found we had more than enough room and space for all of us to live for the 5 days we were there. Everything you need is in the loft - coffee maker, silverware, bowls, dishwasher, etc.
The futon ended up being two small for our two teenagers so Miu generously worked to find proper sleeping accommodations - first by giving us an air mattress, and when that didn't work out, she actually offered the first floor apartment to us for them to sleep in for the rest of the trip, free of charge! We paid the cleaning fee, and they were able to have a good night's sleep for the rest of the trip. Very generous and hospitable.
Fabulous decor, fun and funky, we had a little balcony that overlooked the back apartment area which we found charming and fun - you are really in the heart of Montreal, and you can see children playing on the sidewalks, neighbors grilling, cats wandering about. You really feel like you're in a family neighborhood in France. This is a great spot for people watching and to get a feel for the vibrant pulse of the city.
We plan on going back to Montreal and when we do we will definitely stay at Loft Jacques-Cartier again!
This place certainly did not disappoint. Although very snowy when we got there (and it seemed to be hard to find), it wasn't at all! Located a short bus ride away from the nearest metro station, it was close to everything - at a stunningly reasonable price. The apartment has a steep spiral suitcase on the outside (if you're staying on the top floor, as we were) and then another set of steps once you get in the main door. Once in the apartment, it is truly spectacular. Designed to the highest spec, super clean and modern with underfloor heating, a big, comfortable bed, all mod cons, and a short trip to the local convenience store - it was the perfect base for a stay in Montreal. Thanks to Mio for her help - this is a must if you're planning a stay in Montreal.
I stayed there with my husband and our 18th month old daughter for 6 nights and enjoyed everything about it. The apartment in sparkly clean and well situated in trendy Plateau Mont-Royal. Mio is very kind and was very helpful with us. We had to shorten the length of our stay and she kindly accepted and refund us. Just beware if the stairs are an issue cause there are some inside the apt. Otherwise, it's a perfect place to stay! Thank you Mio and Normand!
These full size apartments are well located and have been done to a very high standard. Everything you could possibly want is included, with the kitchen in particular fully stocked for self catering. I slept better than I have in some years as the bed was so comfortable.
It is close (walking distance) to a very reasonably priced restaurant district (Food is one of the best reasons to visit Montreal) and there is a supermarket nearby. Only a few miles to the Jean Talon food market, where you can get anything and everything you might think of.
The apartment was spotless and everything worked. Reasonably priced, and certainly a better option than a hotel which would have cost more.
Our host, Mio (apologies if I have mis-spelt) was friendly, and eager to help - a joy to deal with. Everything was executed very professionally. We will be going back again.
very clean, very calm, the owner is very nice and the area (plateau mont royal) is really a good place to stay if you want to discover the charm of the city room are confortable the furnitures are nice.
don t hesitate to stay there

I spent 6 nights, May 6 to 10, 2013 in apartment 4042. I loved everything about this place : It's a few seconds walk from Parc Lafontaine, a 3 min. drive to downtown, shopping on Mt-Royal street was the best ! The apartment has everything you need (cook, sleep, shower, rest, tv necessities). Bed is comfortable, when windows are closed, you hardly hear street noise. I also felt safe. Owners live on the ground floor. Feel free to write if you have any questions.
The apartment was perfect and comfortable. By far the best place we've stayed away from home. The owner was incredibly helpful and friendly. Its located on a relatively quiet street centrally located between all the cool spots in Montreal. We had a 10-15 drive to every place we wanted to see. Bixi bikes to rent were close as well as a bus stop. My wife LOVED the heated floors in the kitchen and bathroom. Just awesome. You will not be disappointed.
I stayed twice at Loft J Cartier on the top floor and on the street floor. It is very convenient as I am coming for work in Montreal and my wife and son could enjoy the area.
The apartments were different but very comfortable.
The sofa bed is not that great but it would be the only minus.
You have a free parking so you can use the BIXIE to visit the city.
The Tunisian couscous restaurant is the best in Montreal, order it, pay (only cash) you can have delivery if you want ans enjoy a great dinner in the comfortable apartment.
I also want to say that the landlady is one of the nicest person I ever met
We stayed a week. The apartment was well laid out for our family - we even had dinner guests one night. Very clean, recently renovated, very well furnished with everything we needed. Great location for getting around - quiet street very near but not in the midst of the action. Landlady delightful. Parking and air conditioning a true plus. landlady even arranged laundry service for us at a great price. We'll be back!
What a wonderful apartment! It had everything we needed, and then some. And it was so comfortable and imaginatively decorated! The building has five apartments for rent. There are two small one-bedroom apartments on the ground floor, and three larger one-bedroom apartments on the second and third floors (second and third floor walk-up apartments are very common in this part of the Plateau). The apartments are spotless and fully furnished with bed linens, towels, dishes and every appliance you could possibly need. There is even a little parking lot in back of the building, which is a big deal in a crowded city. My husband and I stayed in the second-floor apartment with a friend. We took the bedroom, and our friend slept on the pullout couch in the living room. The room could be left open to the dining room or completely closed off with movable windows and a door for privacy. It was as if there were two bedrooms.
The neighborhood is interesting and trendy, and very residential. There is a supermarket, a convenience store and a park within two blocks, and restaurants and neighborhood stores a little further out. Unfortunately, the closest Metro stop is about a mile away, a bit of a walk if your hands are full. But overall, I highly recommend these apartments and plan to stay again on our next trip to Montreal.
