"Traveling with a family of five."
We stayed in the two bedroom suite with our three very young children and LOVED it. It had two luxurious bathrooms...one with a gorgeous stand up huge shower, the other with a tub, a full kitchen with a dishwasher, eating area, living room, and three tvs with full cable. The pool was warm enough for this mama to go swimming along with hubby and kids. They have a sport court that is fenced in and the kids and I ran around in it and played kick ball and burned off their toddler energy. Breakfast and coffee in the morning was just right and a noon check out gave us enough time to swim and pack up all of our gear before heading up north. We loved it so much that we just booked our return stay on the way back home to Chicago. It is located by tons of shops and restaurants as well. From now on this is our hotel to stay in Grand Rapids. It is hard to find a place that can accommodate all of our needs when traveling with a 4, 2, and 7 month old...and they did! 5 Stars!!!

"Hard to find but worth it"
As other reviewers said, it is hard to find the hotel but other than that we loved this hotel. The one bedroom suite was like having a one bedroom apartment. It worked perfectly for our needs. This will be our hotel of choice when staying in Grand Rapids.

"For extended stays you can't beat the space!"
This place is new so it's in great condition. The staff are happy and helpful. The location is a little annoying being behind other businesses, but many hotels in the area are similar. For an extra few bucks having the kitchen (full kitchen mind you) a separate bedroom and some space in the room to stretch out is wonderful.

"This place was great."
This place is a new hotel. The staff was excellent. They always had smiles and great eye contact. My room was huge. It had a gas fire place that really warmed up the room. They had social hour where they offered a free dinner and drinks. That was such an unexpected wonderful touch. The food was really good. The free breakfast in the morning was also surprisingly good. I will definitely go back to this hotel in the future.

We stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn on our wedding night. When we arrived, the doors were locked, with instructions to pick up a phone to alert staff that we were there. We waited over 10 minutes with the phone ringing off the hook before a staff member came to the door to let us in. Other than this, our stay was satisfactory.

A very nice hotel...it was difficult to find in that it is not off of a genuine road and sits back off of the main road and is not visible from it, but it was a very nice hotel and the room was very nice as well. Only drawback was that the bathroom was literally right next to the bed, so anyone getting ready in the morning would prevent anyone else from still sleeping. Loved the firepit, but was disappointed that it was turned off at 11:00 as many people were just coming out to enjoy it after having been out for the evening. Breakfast in the morning was good...a selection of some hot food items as well as fruit, donuts, bagels/bread, etc. I would definitely stay there again, and I would recommend this hotel as a very nice place to stay.

"Great rooms, but no one came to clean"
The hotel is nice and new and our room was beautiful with a suite kitchen and fireplace . However, no one ever came to clean the room. After the first day no one came, we told the front desk and said we needed clean towels and more shampoo. That night, there was a note apologizing with candy but the room still hadn't been cleaned!!! Our baby was sleeping so we had to ask them to drop towels off at the door and empty the trash full of diapers we left in the hall. Three nights, no service. Something went wrong.

"Great Weekend Getaway"
My family and I were able to spend the weekend at some of the Grand Rapids must do's and opted to stay at Residence inn. The staff was attentive and helpful throughout the stay. The rooms were clean and we'll maintained. The only oddity, which seems to be an emerging hotel trend is the lack of rooms withbath tubs. Showering with an 18 month old was not likely to end well so we were relocated to a handicap accessible room.

"Good facilities and comfort"
We liked our stay here and while we did not use the kitchen, it was good to see all the modern appliances. One gripe - the bathroom was not cleaned from before and was smelling. We were just too tired to complain.

"Beautiful place @ great price"
The suite was new, clean and modern. Bed was very comfortable and view out the back was relaxing. Breakfast was something of a scramble, as they kept running out of things. That can be fixed, however. (Actually, it seemed as if some employee didn't show up.). Overall, it is a very nice place to stay in Grand Rapids.

We stayed for 5 days and found the hotel to be very comfortable. Great breakfast everyday, snacks for business people Monday through Wednesday evenings Hotel is family friendly on the weekends. One negative: dirty carpeting in the elevator and in the hallways. However, overall we would recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for five nights while visiting family in the area. Hotel is very business friendly during the week: great breakfast every day and snacks Monday thru Wednesday evenings. Weekend was definitely for families. Only negative was the carpets were very dirty in elevator and part of hallway. Otherwise hotel gets five stars.

Nice new hotel. Pool area has both whirlpool and swimming pool. Our room was a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom suite and was beautiful, and very accommodating for our 2 active children. There are a lot of shops and restaurants in the area. It's tucked back up a hill from the main road, so it was quiet (although, there seems to be land next-door for more construction), but we saw wild turkeys from our guest room windows, which faced the wooded area.

We liked the accommodations at this location. having stayed here twice. The first time we had a separate bedroom, the second, just a suite. Either way, it's a large comfortable suite. Everything is quite new and clean. The building is set back off 28th St., so it's quiet, but hard to find the first time. The staff was fine, the breakfast pretty good. I don't really recommend the eggs, since they tasted like they are from a mix, and the cereal choices did not include a granola. Fruit was limited. Overall, a good place to stay for the quality and location.

This was our second stay at the Residence Inn Grand Rapids Airport. We came back because we had such a good experience on our previous visit. We had the 2 bed / 2 bath room which I have previously posted pictures of. We had room 309 on the third floor this time and it was a back corner room. The room looks out onto trees with wildlife, and behind that is a houseing addition which can just barely see and I only knew about due to a barking dog one morning. We had no issues with our room, everything was perfect and housekeeping was great as well. If you are traveling with kids, or teenagers, this layout is a must. You have a kitchen, full size fridge, stove, dishwasher, sink, all the dishes you need, full size kitchen table. Three tvs with direct tv. The master room with the king size bed has a glassed in shower, and the other bedroom with the queen bed has a bath tub. There is a also a pull out bed in the couch which we did not use. Breakfast offered make your own waffles and next to that oatmeal is offered. There are toppings for the waffles and oatmeal. They offered eggs everyday, along with Canadian bacon for 3 nights days we were there. On the fourth day they offered sausage. They also had a main item, such as sausage egg muffins, eggs florentine with spinach. There were potato wedges most days I believe. Waffles, toast, yogurt, milk and juice. They use real plates and silverware. They offered paper plates for those that wanted them on one day we were there. The coffee was weak, I would love if they offered a darker roast. That is coming from someone that does not prefer a dark roast. The last thing I'm going to address has more to do with the Marriott chain as a whole and their new 'In the Mix' evening meal/snack offering. Last year when we stayed at this location they had what was called an 'evening social'. (Last year, we stayed three nights and each night in the main breakfast area there were many great offerings that you could make a meal from if you chose too. In fact one meal that offered spaghetti, salad, and tirimisu was so good it's one of the reasons I booked this hotel again. ) They have since changed to 'In the Mix'. On Monday and Tuesday they offer a light meal from 6-7:30. They market it as a change to mix and mingle with other guests. I saw no one mixing and mingling. People were having a light meal, and going back to their rooms. Which is normal. The person preparing this and working the area does a great job and is very friendly. They have stopped serving the nightly meal in the breakfast area and instead use the main long table in the dining area where people would usually sit to eat. So that if there are many people waiting, a line backs up. Monday there were tortillas with chicken and toppings , along with a slaw to go on top. Coke from a 2 liter and water, along with a punch were offered. The next night we were offered grilled brats and salad along with the same drinks.. Wednesday chips and pretzels and ice cream sundaes were offered. The first time, there was a bartender in the bar area at all times when the evening meal was offered. He was fixing drinks. Now there is a sign that says to get the desk manager for assistance. So, compared to my first visit the quality and presentation has declined and it feels like Marriott is just trying to cut costs. Granted, it's not something they have to offer at all, but they had something great before and I looked at it as an added amenity to the price of my room that made me book with Marriott over say the Drury, which has a nightly meal Sun-Sat. We will continue to say at Residence Inns for the quality of their rooms in terms of size and number of bathrooms. This location is only a couple of years old which is why I chose it again.

There are many very good things about this hotel. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, the layout is very good. The location is convenient to lots of shops and restaurants as well as the highway. There were a few things that really bothered me, though, mostly housekeeping issues. The floor of our shower was dirty-looking, with dark smudges where you stand. The kitchen cooktop was covered with grease spatters both days of our stay, and we did no cooking. Both elevators needed a good cleaning. A minor complaint, but boy did it irritate me: all the TVs are set to turn on to Fox News, in the rooms and in the lobby. It's an intentional thing (stayed here before) that seems unnecessary. I would probably stay here again because you really do get a lot for your money in an expensive hotel town, but I would really like to see more attention paid to cleanliness.

GR is an expensive town for rooms. Less than $100 gets you a very basic 4 walls and a loo. That said this Inn is tops for the money. Our room was spotless, totally quiet and had small touches that I would never had thought of myself if I were the layout planner. Have stayed at places for twice this rate that were not as detailed. One could easily be comfortable here for an extended stay.

This property received glowing marks from most everyone on TripAdvisor so I felt that I was safe in choosing this hotel for a recent anniversary retreat. The property came highly recommended with a 4.4 rating. I had stayed in a Residence Inn in northern California last year and that property was so AMAZING, I expected much of the same here. First things, first: don't expect to easily find this hotel. We drove (using GPS) up and down 28th street for 45 minutes searching for this place. there is a very LITTLE sign in an unexpected place. The hotel is basically behind an abandoned restaurant and it is a little creepy having to drive through that in order to get to the hotel. Our check in was fine. We had to change our dates, removing the last date and there was no problem with that. The room was nice: a King studio and was well-kept. On our way up to the room we DID notice a lot of peeling pain and wallpaper and a generally worn look to the place. Some general maintenance would surely do this place some good. Everything in the room was good and bed was very comfortable. I went down to the "convenience store" they have behind front counter and bought a Snickers bar. I paid $3 which is very high, but that may be more common than I know. Had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was good but not as diverse with selections as some Residence Inns that I have stayed at. Everything was fresh and tasty. We went out to Grand Rapids for the day. Upon our return, around 5 PM, we realized that housekeeping had not even entered our room. This is not to chastise the housekeeping staff or get anyone in trouble, but how can that happen at a major hotel chain? the floor needed vacuuming, the bed was unmade, dirty glasses were right where we had left them. We had no clean towels/washcloths, no soap or shampoo and no coffee. This really tainted our stay. We made due and had another nice night's sleep. Upon checkout the next morning, I spoke with the manager and she was most apologetic and gracious. She knocked $20 off of the Booking.com rate of $140 (the regular rate is $179!!) which was nice, but I felt that they should have done more. Staying at a nice hotel is not just sleeping but a total experience. Having that lack of service in our room really affected that experience. Overall it is a nice hotel in a weird location in need of renovation but comfortable nonetheless.

Incredible stay - great rooms, pull out sofa was comfortable beyond belief, hot breakfast was second to none. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We travel a lot as a family and this particular motel was excellent. Should also mention we were on the 3rd floor (325) and it was super quiet so we all got a good nights sleep! I am a Marriott rewards member so I utilized the Mobile check-in feature which worked out perfect - no wait, just picked up our room keys at the front desk and off to our room! Excellent experience.

We travelled to Grand Rapids in October of 2014 and reserved 2 rooms here for us and our friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations. Clean rooms... nicely appointed with a fire pit outside. Breakfast was great and staff was friendly. Great experience and we will definitely stay here again when in the area!!!
