We stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn on our wedding night. When we arrived, the doors were locked, with instructions to pick up a phone to alert staff that we were there. We waited over 10 minutes with the phone ringing off the hook before a staff member came to the door to let us in. Other than this, our stay was satisfactory.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I stayed at the hotel and it was located near everything and it was perfect. Not only was the staff extremely helpful, but friendly as well. The room was spectacular.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great rooms, but no one came to clean"
The hotel is nice and new and our room was beautiful with a suite kitchen and fireplace . However, no one ever came to clean the room. After the first day no one came, we told the front desk and said we needed clean towels and more shampoo. That night, there was a note apologizing with candy but the room still hadn't been cleaned!!! Our baby was sleeping […] so we had to ask them to drop towels off at the door and empty the trash full of diapers we left in the hall. Three nights, no service. Something went wrong. Response by Residence Inn by Marriott Grand Rapids Airport Thank you for your feedback. We were aware of the situation at the time and have retrained the housekeeper from the first day to make sure that all suites are serviced. We do encourage our guests who need their suite cleaned by a certain time to notify the front desk so we may schedule a time for cleaning to avoid the situation where guests are unable to accept service. We certainly would love to host your family again and we will work with you to make sure everything is perfect!
"Great Weekend Getaway"
My family and I were able to spend the weekend at some of the Grand Rapids must do's and opted to stay at Residence inn. The staff was attentive and helpful throughout the stay. The rooms were clean and we'll maintained. The only oddity, which seems to be an emerging hotel trend is the lack of rooms withbath tubs. Showering with an 18 month old was […] not likely to end well so we were relocated to a handicap accessible room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good facilities and comfort"
We liked our stay here and while we did not use the kitchen, it was good to see all the modern appliances. One gripe - the bathroom was not cleaned from before and was smelling. We were just too tired to complain.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Residence Inn by Marriott Grand Rapids Airport Thank you for the five-star review and your kind comments! I’ve informed the General Manager of your comments in regards to the cleanliness of the bathroom and we will certainly look into the issue to ensure this does not happen again. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you again!
"Beautiful place @ great price"
The suite was new, clean and modern. Bed was very comfortable and view out the back was relaxing. Breakfast was something of a scramble, as they kept running out of things. That can be fixed, however. (Actually, it seemed as if some employee didn't show up.). Overall, it is a very nice place to stay in Grand Rapids.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Just barely OK"

Not very impressed with this Residence Inn. Two door locks in room did not work, including one to outside, so the room was unsafe to leave valuables (or family!) in and we had to wait until a cobbled together fix was made. Room had lots of food crumbs in pull out bed. Amenities were OK, but staff was not able to fully address problems. It would have been fine as far as bed and furnishings went, but it was obvious they were not able to keep up with the rush when we were there. Finally, this is not their problem, but I would avoid the Quaker Steak restaurant in front of the hotel. Drinks were reasonable, but the food was pretty bad.

Everything about it is great. Desk staff very professional but still personable. Rooms are excellent with plenty of space. Can't wait 'til we have to go to Grand Rapids area again and will definitely stay here again!
"Very Comfortable, But Hidden"

New Residence Inn design is more chic with some very good, some not so good features. Hotel is clean & comfortable. Staff is mostly friendly & helpful. Google Maps has location wrong (it will take you to south side of 28th street near Steak & Shake). Hotel is behind Lazy Boy store on north side of 28th. However, hotel sign is much smaller than others along the road. Making matters worse, there is another (very small) set of Marriott Courtyard & Residence Inn signs on south side of 28th street, just west of I-96 (near entrance of Target). Oddly, neither hotel has a property at that site! Anyway, standard Residence Inn equip & features make this a very good hotel for longer stays. There is also plenty of shopping & dining near by- driving distance, not walking.
"Look No Further and Stay Here"

I just got back from a four night stay at this Residence Inn property. The property is technically located in Kentwood, MI, just outside of Grand Rapids. It has easy access to the highway so getting to downtown GR is really easy. It takes about 10 minutes. The hotel was completed in December of 2013 and is honestly the nicest Residence Inn I've ever stayed in. The staff is great and the rooms are too. Each room feels like a modern apartment with high end finishes. I would recommend this to anyone staying in Grand Rapids, no matter which part of town you will be spending your time in. Near the hotel is a grocery store, tons of restaurants, and shopping. The only negative I would say is the breakfast. I thought it was pretty weak (although free) and the coffee left a lot to be desired. But really, who cares. The hotel is great and I would recommend to anyone.
"Better than an apartment, perfect for family"

This, like all other Residence Inns we have visited, is a perfect place to stay when you are traveling with family. Comes equipped with two separate bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom. Full kitchen including all appliances, dishes and flatware is also in the room. Breakfast is offered, but we didn't partake. The menu showed several offerings, though. There is even a BBQ grill available, if you want to grill your own meals. This hotel is just off a major street with several restaurants and grocery stores, but set back from the road. No noise, and a nice wooded setting. 8 minute drive from GRR airport. We stayed only one night, but the family didn't want to leave!
"So nice to stay at a new hotel!"

I travel often for business, and stayed here in July for twelve nights. When I stay that long I like to have a kitchen! I really appreciated the newness of the hotel, and it was actually pretty quiet for most of my stay. The best part was being able to watch the TIgers on TV...I stayed at a different hotel earlier in the year and they didn't show the games! I hope to book another stay at this Residence Inn when I return to G.R.
"Phenomenal, new hotel! Helpful, friendly staff!"

This is a great place to stay in Grand Rapids. It is a new, clean property that is well kept and inviting! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! The rooms offer many of the amenities of home, and are generally spacious. The site features a nice pool, spa, fitness center, and laundry facilities. And, a very cool outdoor space with fire pit. The daily breakfast provides a variety of options and they mix it up to keep things fresh. A great property for business or pleasure!
"New great hotel"

This hotel is hard to find, it's behind Wyndham Hotel and LZ Boy shop. It's new and very nice. Great lobby. I was in a studio suite which was smaller than some of the other Residence Inn's I have been in but it's nicely furnished. I liked the decor and large desk. There is a indoor pool and gym. They have a evening dinner, light with salad, steam vegetables, massed potatoes, bread and chicken adn desert. It was nice. There is an outside fire pit with chairs that was lovely but it is summer so I am not sure they turn it on. They have a shuttle to the airport which starts at 5am. Their breakfast doesn't start until 6am but we had so leave at 5:45 to catch our flight.
"Excellent, new, clean, convenient "
Highly recommend this property. Opened Dec 2013. New, friendly staff. Convenient to airport and highest access to downtown. Fitness room spacious enough with outdoor view. Evening social hour and breakfast offers respectable food choices. Price comparable to other properties in area. Sits back off the main road and is quiet.
"Wow! Best Residence Inn I've Been To!!!"

Fly out of GRR airport fairly often. Decided to try the new Marriott Residence Inn. It has an airport shuttle. A beautiful lobby, rooms with kitchens. A great workout room and pool area. A full basketball court and an outdoor seating area with a big gas firepit. A nice bar area where you can get a glass of wine and then sit outside by the fire and converse with other guest. If this isn't enough they also serve a dinner on Monday- Thursday at 6p and breakfast each morning at 6a. This has become my regular place to stay and leave my car during business trips flying out of Grand Rapids. Love this place!!!
