"Good value for money"
Very good value for money with a great location. Not a luxurious one at all, but having all of the necessities.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ok for one night only"
I only wish Id read the reviews prior to making my booking. To be fair the place looks pretty modern and clean although it is more a hostel than hotel. The rooms are tiny, bed was comfortable but a little small for me (Im 5'11") and my feet were hanging over the end. The noise from the street makes it hard to sleep and the area is not suitable for families, […] not that a family would fit in the rooms. Overall ok for a single person to stay one night in the centre of the la ramblas Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good hotel when not needing any luxury"
Overall we were really satisfied with this hotel. It was really close to the central parts, room big enough, breakfast ok, clean, hotel staff nice. If no need of any luxury and special commodities and just need an hotel for spending the night and having a quick breakfast in the morning this is just fine enough. I´ll for sure would go back again. Rooftop […] and an outside small lounge area.

The location is great: 5 minutes walking from the Rambla and from the central market. Not so nice walking during the night time since there are lot of men starring at you (it's like the Arabian zone). The room was really nice, always clean. The only thing was that it was pretty loud and you could hear all the people from around, which was kind of annoying especially in the morning. The staff was PHENOMENAL. Everybody was so nice and helpful. I would recommend the hotel even though it was pretty expensive :)

Not a hotel for those with five star expectations, but perfect for people who just need somewhere to sleep and shower in comfort. The room was spotlessly clean, the hot water endless, the staff friendly and helpful. The wifi is efficient, the breakfast adequate, the roof terrace charming. The area is historic, multi ethnic, vibrant and entertaining, with lots of bars and restaurants within strolling distance, and Las Ramblas only a five minute walk away. I would certainly go back.

I do not suggest this hotel at all!! We made a reservation through Booking, and when we got there we were told by the receptionist that our booking was canceled due to the late arrival time (note: we specifically wrote on the reservation details that we would arrive at around 01.00AM, and we could read that information on their papers)!! Though we were not happy with the location (not safe and really ugly!), it was really late and we needed a place to stay just for that night, so we asked if we could stay. Immediately, we hear somebody shouting from upstairs in an unknown language (apparently was the manager). The reception guy looked scared and told us that we couldn’t stay there - although they had rooms available - because they were afraid that we would tell booking about this (they were not allowed to sell us the room, without giving the commission to booking). In the meantime, the guy from upstairs continue shouting and scaring us, and we were not sure if it would be safer to stay there only for that night (locking the door of the room), or just leaving the hostel to that terrifying street (just 2 girls). We were really scared and didn’t know what to do at 02.00AM (in a high season when there were not a lot of hotels available). Finally the guy convinced the rude manager to let us stay just for one night, charged as an over expensive price for the night, and he rushed us to a tiny small room (that didn’t even had a room number in the door, it was a staff room or something like this). The room was disgusting, and they could barely fit the bed in it! As soon as the sun raised, we left the hotel and found another. I can’t find one reason for anybody to stay at this hotel, the location is horrible and scary, the hostel is disgusting and really small, and it wasn’t even cheap, so there is really NOTHING good about this!! We end up booking Generator hostel, which is really nice!!

Stayed at Raval Rooms with a friend. We wanted to go to Barcelona on short notice so we booked the first reasonably cheap hotel we could find and ended up there. We did not know it was a hostel until we arrived. Rooms are okay and the cleaning was acceptable. Careless staff who barely bothered to say hi. Vending machine with beer in the hallway. Wifi only functioned in the lobby and on the terrace. It's not the sort of hotel that you want to spend more time than necessary at, but we were barely there since we were out most of the time. Location is good and very central with many bars just around the corner at Carrer Carme. The area might be sketchy during nighttime and I must confess I was a bit worried to leave valuables at the hotel, but nothing happened and we never felt threatened. Barcelona is amazing but I won't stay at Raval Rooms again. It wasn't terrible, but it's not the sort of hotel you want to stay at again. It's perfect if you're young and don't care about comfort or class, but you can get SO much better accommodation for only a few euros more per night and it might actually be worth it.
"It does the job "
The room was ok for us because we only needed a bed and a shower which did the job as we wasn't in the majority of the time, so I'd say this is a good choice of hotel if your just planning on staying there to see the sights. It was very central too, 5 minute walk from las ramblas. However, we were disappointed with the breakfast, we expected the breakfast to be to a better standard for the amount we paid each but we just went out for beeakfast, which helped us enjoy our time in Barcelona more. The only thing that was very disappointing was the room size, it was very cramped and stuffy, but lucikily we wasn't in the room much. We had to push the beds together, we thought we had double bed but was mistaken for two single beds, this wasn't a big problem though. All in all I think that this hostel is good enough if your only planning on going to Barcelona to see the sights and won't be in the hotel much.

Whilst this is definitely a budget hotel, we had a great stay with no complaints. The room was a good size ,quiet, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, including free wi-fi. The electricity is turned on with the room key, so the air conditioning takes a little while to cool the room down, but we didn't find this a problem despite it being the middle of August. Breakfast was basic but plentiful. The staff were friendly, spoke good English and went out of their way to help us order a 2am taxi when we were leaving. The area is busy and diverse, but not scary or threatening. It is located only a 5 minute walk from La Rambla and there are a number of good bars and restaurants even closer. We found it an excellent base for our short stay.

We were meant to stay at this hotel but as the flight from Vueling was rerouted via Valencia due to the severe weather, we couldn't even inform the hotel as we were stuck in the plane since 2am in the morning. After a horrendous trip by bus from Valencia to Barcelona the reception guy just stared at us and explained the room was gone. Actually the whole booking and how would he know we are telling the truth about the flight?! He did not even intend to help us and treated us like some very unpleasant coincidence... After complaining in written to the management I didn't get a response but the credit card booking. No reimbursement or excuse at all!!! I can only stress out to avoid this hotel!!!! Plus the area is crap!

I have booked this "hotel" thru Booking.com impressed by the beautiful pictures of their rooms. Unfortunately this was a huge lie. Although I immediately gave up of the room and the attendant told me he would not charge me for the reservation if I would not sleep over there I was debited my credit card in the amount of € 426.96 for 6 nights. They told booking.com first that it was "noshow" (Another lie) and later that they offered me a better room, which I refused (more lies). I am a 67 year old woman travelling solo and crossed the town with my luggage to find another place to stay. First lesson: NEVER believe in Booking. Com. They are not a reliable agent and please NEVER choose Raval Rooms for your stay in Barcelona. Also the area is very scary as mentioned by van 070. Hope this helps naive people like myself.

We paid 270€ for 3 nights in a suite. Horrible room on the roof (!!!), basically not even part of the actual house, no elevator (the one they have is not recommendable at all. They allow you to use it but it is slow and there is a sign that it is only for luggage). The room was dirty, hot, unfriendly and worn out. We changed the room after 1 night. Not on the roof anymore - a bit better than the first room on the roof but still not worth the money at all. It was impossible to take a shower - it was either ice cold or boiling hot. Never, never, never again!!!!!!! Wifi didn't work well in our rooms, no wifi at all in the shed on the roof. We left after two nights. At least they let us go and gave us a "discount" - we "only" paid 195€ for 2 nights and got 80€ back as we didn't stay for the third night. The staff didn't care much but was generally friendly. When I wanted to talk to the manager, he apparently pretended not to be there for a while. We had to wait for over an hour and when I came back to the reception for the third time the girl at the front desk talked to him in a language I did not understand while he was sitting in a back room. He then talked to me and was pretty friendly. But still, we feel very betrayed because of the high price for the room. The location was close to the Rambla but in a bad neighborhood. We were advised not to leave the big streets at night. The breakfast room is tiny. They have a little patio. We read some reviews before but were optimistic - but it is just as bad as the other people said. However, we met two men who only paid 40€/night - might be worth a thought if you do not care much about where you sleep. All in all: Never again. There are endless better, cheaper, and nicer hotels, B&Bs or even hostels to find in Barcelona. I would never book Raval Rooms again.
"Absolutely not what we expected!"

Thank god we only stayed one night in this place. Raval Rooms should definitely not be listed under the "Hotel" category, but rather under "Hostel". It's located in the middle of the mid-east quarter, surrounded by strange shops, no elevator till the first floor, then strange reception and last but not least an elevator which does about 0.000001 miles/h... Rooms very, very small, dirty, very unpersonal breakfast room. Other than that, you get a discount at the parking garage which is located a few meters before the hotel. And since we were down-graded (which they didn't tell us when we checked in), we received €15 back at check-out. Never again!
