"Just What We Needed"
A perfect little nest and place for a getaway. Not far from the beach and not far from downtown. A wonderful cabin at the beach.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quaint and homey!"
This room was a very nice change from the previous night's experience! The very homey accommodations consisted of a small bedroom and a larger, open living / kitchen area. The central fireplace was very great and added to the quaintness of the lodging. The room was quiet even though it faced the main street. The room needs to be updated - the finishes […] and furnishings are a bit 1970's - but it was very cozy and the kids loved it! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, homey and cozy."
Centrally located in Midtown, short walk to the beach, Haystack Rock, the tide pools at low tide and shopping in downtown Canon Beach. We did antiques at Wheeler, climbed the sand dunes at cape Kiwanda and did Ice cream at Tillimook Bay. The weather was perfect for this time of year, not too breezy, sunny most of the week we stayed.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ok room by the beach"
The location was walking distance to beach and to downtown. The room had a nice fireplace. The bed mattress was comfortable, the log frame was for the cabin look. Had to wash your own dishes, or pay extra, not very nice. I'm on a over night birthday trip, who wants to do chores. For the price it should have been included. The step up to the bathroom […] was dangerous. Yes you had to step down when you came out. Watch out in the middle of the night. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Everything"
This was a perfect, quaint room for two of us at the beautiful Oregon Coast. One block from the beach, 2 or 3 blocks from downtown, close to good coffee and the wonderful glass store just one block away. What could be better!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Efficient, Upscale Cabin Feel With Comforts of Home"

We stayed in the smallest unit for two nights along with our two dogs. It's a charming place beyond what we'd expected, from check-in at the main office three blocks away to arriving at our small, yet spacious-feeling room with very high ceilings. We appreciated the care package for our dogs and quality décor, including a high poster style log bed, fine linens, both wood panel and softly painted walls, a carefully assembled stone fireplace, and nicely framed art work, featuring Haystack Rock. Having a full kitchen for cooking was a plus, and we also appreciated the proximity to the beach and town with shops and a variety of restaurants. The kitchen is set up for strictly two people, which is all we needed, yet we'd have appreciated just a few more items (such as 4 teaspoons) though realize this is petty and won't let it affect my rating. While we generally prefer an ocean view, with good weather and the classy rustic touches, we felt quite comfortable. Rates seemed a bit high even in off season, yet we felt the experience could not be duplicated elsewhere. It's a unique and special place.

Nice accommodations with a kitchenette, fireplace (log provided) and great TV. Had a nice porch with bench in front. Bed was comfy. Close to downtown and other shopping further south. Staff was very helpful and courteous.
"Dog friendly, comfortable room close to restaurants and shops!"
My husband and I stayed a couple nights with our 2 large dogs. They are very dog friendly and there was a dog "care package" waiting in our room when we got there. The room was cozy and was just a short walk to good restaurants and shops. Also only a block or so to the beach!!

Lovely "cabin" experience in the heart of Cannon Beach. Cozy, comfortable and quiet (Room 24). Perfect location for a stroll into town or over to Haystack Rock. Well appointed kitchenette allowed us to prepare all our meals. Definitely give this a try!!

Fabulous location. Pet friendly (welcome basket for dog in room upon arrival). Very clean and comfortable, reminiscent of a log cabin. Parking is essentially nonexistent on site for other than compact car but is avaliable at sister property within a block, an easy walk. The beach is only two blocks away which is perfect for sunset stroll. A problem caused by online booking was satisfactorily resolved within reasonable time after checkout.

This lovely little room was so great! It is right on the main 'drag', which shouldn't discourage...most traffic is on foot! It also was only a block or so from the beautiful beach. So convenient to everything Cannon Beach has to offer: sand, rocks, tide pools, shops, galleries, and restaurants. It's even only a short drive to the nearest state park for hiking and even more views! The room itself was somehow rustic and luxurious, at the same time. It had a kitchenette, and the bed was super-comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here, and expect to again, myself!

I stay at the Hearthstone at least once a year, usually in room 27 or 25. I love the full kitchen, wood burning fireplace, wi-fi, convenient location, and most of all that they're pet friendly and offer a pet welcome basket - it didn't take my dog any time to find the milk-bone tucked inside :) The rooms have always been clean. I was happy to find the Keurig coffee machine on my latest visit. I don't remember having a screen door in the past, but thought this was also a brilliant addition!

My boyfriend and I love coming to Cannon Beach - it's the perfect escape from our downtown Portland life and made for an even better place to celebrate my boyfriends 33 birthday. We have previously stayed with the Cannon Beach Hotel Lodging group at the Cannon Beach Inn and The Courtyard (both fabulous), so we were very excited to stay this past weekend at the Hearthstone Inn. As always the staff was great during check-in! We love renting from the dve library and eating the warm cookies! We stayed in room 26, it was huge, and to our surprise had a HUGE new TV! Right when you walk in the smell of wood reminds you of being in a wood cabin. The staff had left my boyfriend a birthday note with some Moonstruck Chocolate, such a personable touch :) The kitchen was great! I make us breakfast and even brought stuff to bake a birthday cake. The fireplace was out of this world perfect .... loved that is wasn't gas. We look forward to MANY more stays at the Hearthstone Inn!!!
"Rustic and cozy"

We stayed in room 24 which is the largest of these tiny cabin like rooms. It was super cozy and adorable. Our teenage son slept on the pull out sofa bed which he said wasn't terribly comfortable but for two nights he was fine. My husband said the same about our bed. The room has a full kitchen in miniature, useful if you want to cook instead of heading out to eat. Everything in the room is handcrafted, including the big stone fireplace. It is a beautiful, welcoming space and housekeeping does a fabulous job keeping it clean. The girl at the front desk was helpful and friendly. The room is located close to the beach and Haystack Rock is within walking distance as are several shops and rental places. Parking is provided. My only real gripe about it was the lights right outside the room, shone in all night and the blinds did nothing to mute them. If light bugs you take a sleeping mask.
"We enjoyed it.....for the most part."

We loved the cabin feel of the room and the real wood burning fireplace. We also liked the location. It was just a few short blocks to the beach and a short drive to cute shops and restaurants. It is one if four properties that all look like they offer something worth staying for. I wish that my review could end there....however there was one glaring issue with my stay that I will mention in the spirit of constructive criticizm. The first night that we got there after driving several hours and being exhausted because I also worked all day we got to our room and found dog hair on and throughout the entire bed. I was not one tiny bit impressed with the way the issue was handled. The girl at the front desk was nice and apologetic. But since there is only one front desk for all for properties I had to drag my weary body to the other hotel to get new bedding. My son then found a bug on the new blanket they gave us so our first night was rather cold sleeping with only a sheet. The girl at the desk made several comments along the line of how they would "make it right in the morning." Then when I came in the next day to buy extra wood for my fireplace she greeted me with "what is it today?" as though she felt I was just trying to complain which is actually the opposite of true because at the time I never even mentioned the bug that we found. The day we checked out I did see a housekeeper who was very nice and apologetic about the situation which I did appreciate. I was honestly more disappointed in how the issue was handled than the fact that it happened. I Mean, don't get me wrong, the dog hair and the bug were not at all satisfactory but if the situation were handled differently it could have made all the difference. Aside from that we did enjoy our stay and might consider one of their properties again in the future in hopes this was an isolated incident and not the status quo.
