"If possible Avoid"

We choose this Hotel as we were participated in Exhibition in BITEC. And this one is near to BITEC. As we have early morning flight we reached hotel around 10 AM. They have two different building, we have been guided to the new and small building which is other side of the road. Firstly Lady at Reception speak very little English and also she asked to make payment first, even though we had already paid in India and made advance reservation. Only when she talked to her Boss then only she able to find our reservation in system. The worst thing is that since we reached early we asked her to provide Room if any one is available, she denied that there is no free room. But later on when we told her that we can pay for early checking, then she said yes she can arrange room but surprisingly she want us to pay a full day fare. Which is not possible. So the staff is not supporting. Rooms are very small. And our hotel fare include breakfast, but what we got was fix breakfast 2 bread some fruits and Tea that's all. So overall not worth it for what we paid. Instead of staying near BITEC better to stay in City on Sukhmvit road and from there you can easily get BTS(Train) to Bagna (BITEC station). So overall suggest to avoid this hotel

We only stayed here one night after a 14 hour flight. We had arranged an airport pick up but somehow it didn't eventuate! We managed to find the place in a taxi and checked in quickly and efficiently. The cafe and the room service menu was not operating when we arrived but they brought some tea and coffee sachets to the room so we could have a cuppa. The room was basic but very clean and it had everything you would require for a stay of longer than one night. There was a small, full sized fridge, a washing machine, a microwave and a kettle, as well as 2 hot plates for cooking. The beds were firm but we were very tired from our trip that it really didn't matter. In the morning we tried room service again but we still couldn't order so we ended up eating Christmas chocolates for breakfast! I would stay here again for a short break. There are no convenience stores anywhere nearby so that is a drawback but there is a free shuttle to the metro.
"Great Hotel near BITEC!"

Stayed here for 6 days. What could i say... Great staff! Affordable room rates. Very clean & neat. We got a one bedroom junior suite at 2300+B/night with 2 toilet, 1 queen size bed (extra folding bed is an addtl 500B per night if you may need one), you got a washing machine & dryer, a microwave oven, fridge, electric stove, pots&pans, paltes & utensils, sala set, dining area, work area, two flat screen tv, the works! Internet speed was at 9.80mbps average. airconditioner was at 15celcius max. room service, daily room cleaning, small swim pool & gym at ground level, daily shuttle service to either BITEC or BTS Station every hour on the hour starting at 7am. Though taking the BTS train from Bang Na to the city proper (like Siam Center) would take you an approx 7-8 stops which is around 50B for a one way ticket (quite pricey). Overall, would definitely stay here again especially on business trips during convention season. Hope this helps!
"BANGNA - THAILAND"

My husband and I live in Bangkok for part of the year and we stay at Thomson Residence in Bangna. The staff are amazing from the owner and his family to the front staff, to maid service to the security guards to the driver. I love Thailand, love the Thai people and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Bangkok. It is about 20 mins from airport as well as 20 mins from the city. It is like home away from home!
"Great Place. Value for Money!!"

We were two families with two kids, who rented out a two BHK unit at Thomson Residence. Must say it is agreat place with very well furnished apartments and with all the amenities available. the staff was friendly, albeit only couple of them know proper english but then I guess language is a problem in whole of Thailand. The best thing is they are more than willing to guide you on the places you need to visit while in Bangkok and will arrange for taxis for you. Only disadvantage with Thomsons are that they are far from main city centre and with Bangkok's notorius traffic that could be a big problem. Overall a great place to stay!! -Mrinal
"Great for families with kids - reasonably priced, if a bit far from downtown."
First off, The Thomson Residence is not a hotel, it is a serviced apartment. So you can't compare it to a standard hotel, nor should you expect your stay to be that of a hotel. Serviced apartments are great for families, especially those with young children, or for those needing a home away from home for an extended period of time, or for those people who simply want something more in a hotel. It is exactly as described - an actual residence, that gets serviced daily. You can choose from any size, from a small studio apartment to a massive 4 bedroom. Each apartment has a full kitchen with cooking and eating utensils, a clothes washer, ironing board and iron, microwave, free internet, table and chairs, etc. Basically everything you would expect if you were moving into a fully furnished apartment, except that this apartment gets cleaned every day. As we were on a tight budget, we chose a studio with separate beds and a baby cot. That made for a cozy stay, but overall we were quite comfortable. We had a two-burner stove, normal size clothes washer / combination dryer, a good sized refrigerator, large microwave, some pots and pans, and place settings for two (two small plates, two large plates, two bowls, 4 glasses, plenty of silverware and cooking utensils). They also had a hot water maker and upon request brought us a small rice cooker. The bathrooms in the studio are a bit small, but nicely and stylishly equipped. My only complaint with both the kitchen sink and bathroom sink is that whoever built the place didn't pay much attention to which direction the faucets should turn. So when you thought you were turning the hot water off, you were actually turning it up and vice versa. And the cold water was the opposite. Very confusing. We had a beautiful large screen TV, free wifi internet that was decently fast, and a table with two chairs. Again, ideal for traveling with kids. We were able to buy baby food and other things from the grocery store and eat at home. The biggest plus was the washing machine - it made things so easy. Baby messed up his clothes? No big deal, throw it in the wash. They even included a hanging clothes dryer that we used on the balcony. Service was very good, from the security guards at the gate to the young ladies working the front desk. Always helpful, smiling, and ready to assist. The drawbacks: Thomson Residence is located in the Bangna district of Bangkok, pretty far from downtown. A taxi to downtown would be rather expensive and take you quite a bit of time through traffic. Taxis to On Nut BTS station run about THB 100+ and that's the best option for getting around. However, once the new BTS Skytrain stations open up, you should only be a mere 5 minute taxi ride away from the newer BTS station. It is almost within walking distance to BITEC, the big exhibition center, so for those businessmen out there it would be a very convenient option if attending a trade show at BITEC. The very nice Central Mall is only 5 minutes away by taxi which is good for shopping and other things; they have a Tops grocery store on the bottom floor, a very nice movie theater on the top floor, and tons of restaurants and shopping in between. You are also only about 10-20 minutes away, depending on traffic, to the even larger Seacon Square mall, and only about 20-30 minutes away from the airport. Another drawback is that they are right next door to a very popular outdoor Chinese-themed restaurant. Not a big deal, except this restaurant has a very loud dinner show nightly, that starts around 7pm or so and lasts until 9pm. Luckily we were out most of the time and only getting home at 9pm, but when we were home early it was a bit annoying, although not too bad with all the windows closed. Just something to keep in mind for those who retire to bed early. Also, I assume because they are fairly new and business is a bit slow, the front desk is not staffed at night. Once 8pm rolls around, the only help you have are the security guards. They are very helpful indeed and will let you in, help with bags, flag taxis, etc., but their English skills are limited. Other than that, this is an excellent choice for those looking for a serviced apartment that won't break the bank. Or for those looking for a convenient location near BITEC or the airport and don't mind taking a long BTS or taxi ride into downtown.
