"Brilliant base for exploring Lisbon"
Everything about this hostel is pretty standard, and you get everything you would expect. Its clean, the rooms are a little cramped but generally comfortable, and there is room for private storage. The greatest thing about this place, though, is its location. Located smack bang in the centre of the Rua Augusta, in downtown district of Baixa, it is the […] perfect place to explore Baixa, Alfama and the Barrio Alto, which are all within easy walking distance. Its also only a five minute walk to Cais do Sodre station where you can get to Belem or Cascais/Estrodil quickly and cheaply. Simply an excellent location to base yourself for a Lisbon excursion. Plus its very, very affordable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A very noisy place"
"“Good location, average/ very poor hotel.”"
I stayed here in April 2014. It's a 02 minute walking to Praça da Figueira and Rossio, close to the bus station, so the location is really great. The room and bathroom was incredibly small, even for a European hotel. The free WiFi was not working at any point in the room nor the kitchen, only at reception ( that is not exactly a reception). Free breakfast […] is not so good, they are not polite as they inform only one tost and one cofe or tea each guest. The rooms does not have keys nor lockers to leave your luggages. Front desk staff were not friendly, they don´t know how to explain the places where you want to visit, don´t have any suggesting of sights to see and how to get to them. The rooms are very noisy as the main street is Av. Augusta, so, late at night you can hear people talking and laughing while sleeping. I don't think I would stay at this hotel again, but it was alright for the price we paid Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Hostel is very good location. It's on the 1st floor and ntrance is through the souvenir shop.We stayed there in February so it's wasn't hot as it might be in summertime but windows are very old and it can be a bit cold because there is 1-2 cm of space around window frame.Bathrooms are nice and clean but they could put some extra towels on the floor. After you shower the whole floor is wet. Room doors are originaly wooden doors with glass in the middle and they just covered the glass part with dark sticker so you can hear everything that's happening. We stayed in private room with Rua Augusta view which is nice. It's not too loud on the street. The thing that I really don't like is that receptionist is sleeping on the couch at the reception desk which is just in front of private rooms. So if you want to go to bathroom you have to be carefull not to wake her up. WIFI didn't work for 2 days
"Low price, good location"

If you are looking for low price (paid 45 euros/night for a double room) and good location, it is a good place to book a room, conditions are poor and not very clean, but they are seem to be doing their best. I used earplugs during the night because I had expected some noise from other rooms or outside the building, and staying for only 2 nights, not sleeping too much in there anyway helped, I was out visiting most of the time. Breakfast is not enough, (you might need to buy extra food from the bakeries across the street), but they serve you with a smile and they prepare the food in front of you in a small kitchen. The free wi-fi did work and I used it with no problems.
"Terrible hostel experience"

Booked at this hostel for 2 nights, only stayed for one. Super cramped, hot, noisy, and unfriendly. Stayed in the 6 bed dorm. I have never seen three bunk beds packed so tightly together. You have to choose between having the window open to the noise of the street (which for me meant a potpourri of hammering, drunken yelling, and a certain street musician whose entire song catalog was comprised of Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze), or closing the window and basically turning the room into a slow cooker. Even with the window closed, there was still the noise from reception. They didn't seem to have much regard for the idea that some people might occasionally want to sleep - they showed someone to their bed at about 12:30am, and flipped the light of the room on to do so, all the whole talking with outside voices. I certainly don't mind people coming and going at all hours (it is a hostel after all), but this was a little much. At most hostels, the folks at reception are super keen to tell you what to check out in their city. At this one, they didn't even tell us where the bathroom was. Speaking of the bathroom, the shower in it leaked water all over the floor. And the hallway. And actually the dorm room across the hall. Other than that, great stay.
"Great location, functional accommodation!"

I stayed for a two night stay in the City Center Hostel in Lisbon. This hostel offers both private (which I stayed in with a friend) and shared dormitory rooms. The price of the hostel is cheap considering its central location on the main strip in Lisbon, near train stations, shopping centres, restaurants, bars and restaurants! It was around 50euro per night for a private room and 22euro per person staying in a dorm. The hostel is more suited to younger travellers as it is very basic! Particularly in the shared rooms with no lockers to keep suitcases (you just keep in a storage room) and space in the shared rooms look limited. The facilities are basic but functional, perfect for travellers who want clean facilities with just a place to rest at night. The hostel is a floor in a block of apartments and you have to enter via a gift shop, the staff seemed friendly enough, the only thing is from time to time then tend to disappear. The hostel price also includes free breakfast (basic but free!) and free storage for your luggage after checkout!
"Great location and value for money"

The hostel is in a great location and you can get around all the best places in and around Lisbon so easily. The room I stayed at with a friend was a double room and worked out great value to share (55 Euros a night for the two of us). The room was modern, clean and there were two bathrooms very near. Location is good as even though Rua Augusta is busy in the day, it is quiet in the night when all the restaurants / shops are closed. Hostel is in a good location if you want to go to Bairro Alto (lots of small independent bars) which is only a 10 minute walk, or to Cais do sodre train station where you can get the train to places like Estoril or Cascais. This is a great place to stay if you are happy to be busy during the day and your main priority is looking for somewhere to stay for the night and in a central location where you can get to lots of different places. It's the first time I've stayed in a hostel, but was happy with the standard and value for money, especially since it was right in the centrre of Lisbon. Hostel is easy to get to on the Metro (get off at Baxia Chiado or Rossio), especially if you are travelling into Lisbon on a service coach to Campo Grande. The Hostel also lets you keep your bags in storage if you need to free of charge.
"Great location, sketchy situation"
04/20/14 DLaurenceSmith Madrid, Spain
The hostel is located in a great location right on one of the main downtown streets of Lisbon. It is also one of the cheapest options you can find. With that being said, there is only a few single bathrooms for the guests to use, so they are occupied and you have to wait to use them nearly every morning, the doors to the rooms do not lock, and there are no lockers so the staff stores your valuables in their storage room. If any of these are things that you are not comfortable with I do not recommend this place, but if you are easy going and this does not deter you, this is a good place to stay. The low price, friendly staff, and a free breakfast made for you in this great location makes it worthwhile to stay. Just know there are no bells and whistles that come along with this destination.
"the best located hostel"
02/03/14 Katrien S
Ideal location for a hostel, in the main shopping street. It's close to each touristic spot in the city center. Friendly personnel! The 2 shared bathrooms are modern and clean. The room was clean, with a large wardrobe. But the mattress was a bit thin and there was a little bit too much light and noise to fall asleep right away.
"Amazing location in the very center of Lisbon"
11/19/13 Hana B Bratislava, Slovakia
We ve booked this hostel 4 days at this hostel but we stayed one extra night. Hostel is smallmodern and stylish and really clean. Staff is really nice and always helpful. We had really beautiful room with balcony oriented to Rua Agusta- the most beautiful street in Lisbon. I dont think we could be more in centre then we were there. So city the name city center hostel is accurate. Breakfast was okey for the price, but coffee was really tasty. ! I recommend this place.

"Prima plek, matig verblijf"
10/18/14 Wietske49 Lissabon, Portugal
