Generally the hotel is ok... Nothing special...but you will find similar hotel condition in all Costa Rica. If you like to stay in the hotel and enjoy the poll, bar and relax this is not a good place

The hotel has in great shape. They employed lots of staff to keep things tidy. A bit rustic, the beds were definitely not posturepedics. Be cautious of the room you request, our first was quite small with only a double. They were very helpful in switching us to a double queen which was much larger. I suggest rooms 10-15 for the best size. Bathrooms were very functional. grounds were very pretty; great detail made in keeping things beautiful. Bar/restaurant had very good food- great hamburgers! but note that their prices were higher than most every restaurant we ate at. Free breakfast was good. Location was excellent, short walk to park and beach and local shops. I would stay there again vs. everything else we saw.

The room was very small for two people. The shower fell off and the safe wasn't working. But it's five minutes walk to the beach and to the Manuel Antonio national park.

We stayed for two nights. Booked as it was a reasonable price for Manuel Antonio in high season. Was very pleasantly surprised. Very nice little hotel only about 150 meters from the beach and 300 from the park entrance. Staff was supper friendly! The only complaints are the poor water pressure in the shower but that is true of all hotels I have stayed at in CR, and the bed is a tad hard. Would highly recommend the Hotel Villabosque.

"The bar closes too early!"
04/14/15 fiftytripper Peterborough, United Kingdom
Nicely situated in walking distance to the National Park, with access to some wonderful beaches and a host of wildlife. We saw sloths, howler monkeys, numerous birds and some amazing insects. Beware if you take fruit onto the beach as the cheeky monkeys come down to pinch it and anything else they can get their hands on! There are many trails to try with good lookout points. The beach on the sea front is a public one, but it did not get overcrowded and here you can do various water activities. The hotel is comfortably furnished, with big beds, tv, hair dryers etc. Breakfast was the usual rice and beans with scrambled eggs and plantain. The only down point, was the bar which closed at 9.30 without warning, so you could get more drinks in. Lots of the bars on the sea front, also closed down early , as did the stalls selling souvenirs. A good stopover place, but I wouldn't spend a week there.

"Great location, great property"
03/30/15 Brandy H Orlando, Florida
We stayed here for 2 nights when visiting Manuel Antonio. I chose this location because of the proximity to the national park- I wanted to see monkeys- and boy did I! The first morning there we saw them right outside the hotel. Lots of them! The national park is right there, as is the beach, and lots of restaurants and shops. We parked our car and didn't drive the whole time we were there. The last day we were there, we checked out and wanted to hang out later. We put our bags in our car and parked it right at the front desk where someone eat he our things while we enjoyed our stay. Very nice people and nice property.

"Great staff, relaxed and comfortable spot"
03/14/15 Alice B
My husband and I stayed there for 4 days in February. I had my passport stolen on the day we arrived and was feeling upset and stressed. The staff were kind and helpful, letting me use the phone to call the Embassy, and giving good suggestions. The hotel was truly beautiful, close to the beach and also to Manual Antonio Park. There were lovely spots to hang out throughout the hotel, on the veranda where there were chairs outside each room, near the pool, in the front foyer, and in the open restaurant. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The pool was warm and nice for swimming. The breakfast's delicious, with eggs made to order. The room was comfortable. My only suggestion was putting a fan in the small bathroom. Thanks to all the staff for their kindness and helpfulness. We would definitely return to this pretty, relaxed spot if we return to this area. Highly recommend it!! Having the squirrel monkeys hanging about the bar was also a real treat!! A & G

"NICE PLACE, NICEPOSITION"
02/25/15 colin_bishop1941 Budapest
This is a pleasantly designed Spanish hotel a 100 or so yards/metres from the beach and set within a smallish hotel community just outside the Manuel Antonio National Park gates. It has a swimming pool, ample car parking and a dining area mostly outdoors. The rooms are not large but very clean. The room had draw and shelving space as well as a table and chairs and TV. The bathroom is smallish and has a outdated shower facility which is somewhat difficult to operate. There was seating and table facilities on the covered veranda attached to the room which were most welcome at all times of the day given the heat. The reception was reasonably efficient and staff were helpful and smiley.. The breakfast is self service with hot food readily available and of good quality. We also ate there one of the evenings and the food choice, quality and [preparation was good but too pricey. There are some restaurants on the beach front more reasonably priced. You had a variety of amusing and entertaining 'friends' within the hotel complex - some exquisite birds and the squirrel monkeys. This is a nice and relaxed place. Would come again

"Great Hotel with an unbeatable service!"
02/08/15 Tim B
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights .. and we hope to do it again! The hotel is kept in a very nice Spanish style with very cozy comfortable clean and tidy rooms. Everything (Bed, shower, cleaning, Wi-Fi, etc) was just 100% in order! The breakfast is very good and the restaurant is really outstanding so we ended up eating there almost every night. While sitting on the restaurants porch having an amazing Pina Colada in the late afternoon you felt like being in the jungle.. All kind of birds (incl. Toucans) were flying around you + the squirrel monkeys came and made a show! With only 3 minutes’ walk to the Manual Antonio National Park or to the beach the location is just perfect. It is very quiet during the night so you get a good night sleep. The staff was very helpful in suggesting tours around the area. The guides they found were very good so you can just leave it up to the staff to arrange your tours! The service and staff is really worth 6 stars!! You really felt you were the only customer in the whole hotel…. and that´s service! If you want service/comfort/convenience/good food/location this is the place to stay in Manuel Antonio! PURA VIDA!

"Walking distance to Manuel Antonia national park"

Perfect location. However the restaurant is overpriced for evenings, so go out nearly, lots of choice but we liked Cafe del Mar which is on the beach to the left. Wifi in rooms. Toilet paper to go in bins :(

"Location, Location, Location..."

This hotel is all about location. 2 minutes from Manuel Antonio National Park and the beach. Right smack in the middle. The room was small but we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. It was clean and cozy. Internet worked at all times. Staff friendly and good was good. We had several visitors (capuchin monkeys) while on the balcony watching the rain fall. We loved the place and highly recommend staying there.

"Location & Staff set the Hotel Villabosque apart!"
12/30/14 Barry G Cape Coral, Florida
Manager Arnold is so accommodating that he himself will help with anything a guest needs. His staff, Jorge, Oscar, and the rest of the family are very nice. The rooms are very well kept, pool is centrally located and the bar/restaurant is wonderful, as well as a great place to people watch as the Manuel Antonio Park opens everyday. We were referred to the Villabosque by a local friend, and we know why now. This hidden gem is worworth the wait, IF you can get a reservation! Thanks for taking such good care of us!

"Good location, rooms a bit small"
12/27/14 404Traveller Edmonton, Canada
The hotel is located about 300 meters from Manual Antonio National Park and about 500 meters from the beach. The hotel has breakfast included and the restaurant food is very tasty. The beds are comfortable but the rooms are fairly small, there is only about a foot between the beds and the walls and maybe 2-3 feet between beds. It is ok if you are not in the room much but gets tight when all four of us are in there trying to get ready. All in all we had a great stay and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice centrally located hotel.
