The hotel is only 5 minutes away from the train station. The sign is VERY small, I walked past it a few times because of that. Only a small gold plaque by the door, on the left side of the street. The room and service were nice, pleasant and helpful staff. There was a small fridge in the room and a grocery store very close so it was convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very comfortable, clean, close to train station"
Wonderful stay! found right away walking distance from train station when we arrived. Very friendly, warm welcome upon arrival. Very clean comfortable room, beds firm and wonderful service all around. Of the three hotels we stayed in on this visit to Italy this was the best! "Great Location and Friendly Staff"
Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teenagers) stayed comfortably in the family suite. We also met our niece and her friend. They stayed in a regular room for two. Both rooms were clean, well-maintained, and quite comfortable. We were welcomed by a friendly staff that was helpful in accommodating our early afternoon arrival. The hotel is very close to the […] train station and within walking distance of all the main sites in Florence. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend B&B Marbo to other travelers. "Nice family run B&B"
It is a very nice family run B&B within 5 minutes walk to the central train station located on a major street which is easy to find. The room and bathroom are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is nice with adequate selections. There are cookies, water, and hot tea available 24 hours outside breakfast room. WiFi is free to guest, however, the signal […] is very weak for rooms located far from check-in area. The only thing I wish they can improve is to start the breakfast time as early as 7am instead of 8am. There were two mornings we need to catch train or tour bus around 8am and would not have breakfast at the hotel. Otherwise, everything is great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great for the price"
We checked other reviews on different sites before booking this hotel and they were pretty positive. The hotel was different than we expected. It's an odd little set up as the hotel takes up just part of an old building on a couple of floors. Feels a bit cramped but the rooms themselves are decent (probably bigger) size compared to other European hotels. […] The beds were really firm but still comfortable. The shower was nice except when there was no hot water during the morning rush. The breakfast was pretty good (standard European fare of deli meat, cheese, bread, & pastries). Really the staff was the best part of the hotel. Betta, who owns the place, goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable and see to any of your touring needs. The other staff was also very kind and helpful. The location is a bit further walk than we expected but still a good location and we walked to everything we wanted to see. "My home in Firenze forever!!"
This is an outstanding place!! It is family operated and we felt welcomed since the first time we got there. Like many hotels in Italy, it is located in a shared building and the elevator is old, but all the problems finished there. Beta (the owner) treated us like a real mamma as we got to the reception. We've never felt so welcomed and we've been […] to 100+ hotels in Europe and America. About the hotel itself... it has a good location (5 mins from SMN station), no issues with the wi-fi, very good breakfast and the room was spacious and modern. So, it was a great deal and I will obviously try to stay there everytime we go back to Firenze. Beta, thank you for everything! Hope to see you again soon! The "pros" of this hotel are proximity to the train station, cleanliness, and the extremely kind and helpful staff. There are however some "cons" to this hotel. Our main concern was that we did not feel safe in the neighborhood and always had to ask people to move away from our doorway to use our keys to get into the building. The entrance hallway and […] stairwell are not lit when you enter and you have to walk through the dark to activate the light switch for the building (or else every floor is pitch black without any window light; the lights also once turned off while we were going down the stairs). The old, one person elevator to get to the hotel on the second floor was not ideal. Also, the short reception hours meant that there would have been no one to help us if an issue happened on the way up. It was also awkward that one can almost see though the glass bathroom doors and there is even a gap on the side of the door so you can actually see the person if you walk over to the corner of the room to try to give the other person some privacy. Finally, we found the mattress a little too stiff to our liking and the air conditioning was a little noisy and blew directly on us all night, which probably contributed to us waking up with a sore throat. There is also not enough space to dry towels (which resulted with staff putting the towels over the shower rails for them to dry) and there is no glass for toothbrushes. Breakfast was also a little stale. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wow for a B&B!"
When I first stepped into the room, my first reaction, is "wow". Room is newly furnished, looks like I'm in a 4 star hotel room. It's way above my expectation. The breakfast is great too, nice cappuccino. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, in particularly this lady called Betta. Location wise, it's just a stone throw away from Firenze SMN station. "Delightful family run, comfortable hotel."
What the hotel lacks in modernity, is made up for in the homely comforts offered. A refreshments room offering tea and biscuits 24/7 is a nice touch. As is the beverages left for you in the fridge on your arrival. The delightful family who run the hotel are so warm and welcoming that you can forgive the neighbourhood. Extremely professional approach […] , providing each guest with those extra comforts which elevate the ratings of this little hotel justifiably. Clean and comfortable rooms and a very decent breakfast also. Not in the most pleasant area but certainly convenient for train or coach arrival. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location with excellent service!"
The location is just across the street from the train station - this was particularly helpful as we had lots of luggages with us. We had a very warm welcome from Betta who instantly made us feel at home in Florence, showing us the way to explore Florence within the time that we were there. We were delighted when we were shown to our room, which looked […] exactly like it was in the photos - spacious and comfortable, set in a modern design. We will definitely like to revisit Florence again as it is such a beautiful place and Marbo B&B is certainly the choice of our stay. Highly recommended! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Thanks to Batta, will definately stay there again!"
It was the best B&B accommodation I had for my recent trip to Italy. What my family really liked was the exceptional friendliness and warm hospitality from the hotel owner, Batta. She went beyond the normal B & B services and offered much valuable advice on sightseeing during our 3 days in Firenze. Her suggestions allowed us to optimise our precious […] time & money on attractions worth spending. We were pleasantly surprised when she offered us complimentary drinks and beverages in the room minibar/fridge. The hotel also provided cookies and beverages at its pantry, which makes it convenient for anyone with a craving for a night snack. It was indeed very kind and thoughtful of the hotel owners. The breakfast, despite its simplicity, was delicious. The pastries, cheese and ham were freshly served by Batta, who also prepared hot beverages such as hot chocolate, cappuccino and more. Besides their excellent service, the convenient location of the hotel deserves special mention. From the train station (S. M.Novella), we reached the hotel by foot (Approx. distance: 200m) Exit from the right side of the station, turn right again and via Alamanni . The building is just in front of the bus stop. The hotel, which is on the 2nd level, can be acessed by a distinctive and antique elevator. Hence, no worries with your luggages! Without a doubt, I'll stay in this hotel again on my next visit to Firenze and look forward to meeting Batta once more. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

On the 1st of may I had a trip with my family and we stayed at Marbo Florence. The B&B has a great location, being close to the train station and the historical city center. I was pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the hotel staff which were very helpful, providing us with city maps and with information about the places we wanted to visit. It was a good trip and we were very pleased.

Once we arrive the place, the owner straight away welcome us with amazing attitude and her sense of humor. She even give us tips on where to go and find amazing food around Florence as me n the girls only gonna be there for a night. Room was clean n spacious for 4 persons, basic toiletteries even provide. They provide continental breakfast at their tea room during the morning, simple enough to keep us til lunch time. During breakfast u'll c the host was there chatting up with u. Location of this place was strategically locate which was just around 200m walk from the train station. We really enjoy our stay there n will defi goin back there again in the future if we visit Florence again.
"A good B&B with a very helpful owner"

A very convenient B&B located right next to the train station. The room was basic but comfortable. The owner was helpful allowed us to checkin early at 9:30 to allow us to chance before we headed out to city. She also helped us choose the places to visit and generally very knowledgeable about the place. The only negative was having to carry our luggage up/down a very narrow flight of stairs.
"Great host and room - not the best location"
07/23/14 Mr_Rich_D Skipton, United Kingdom
As everyone else has written, Beta is brilliant - she makes the place great. The family room (2+2) was large, comfy beds and very quiet. Free drinks in the fridge in the room and the kitchen was just outside from which we could get hot drinks and biscuits whenever we wanted. The entrance to the B&B is tricky and feels slightly unsavoury as there were people hanging about the street and on the entrance steps. Its about 1km from the centre but you can miss out some busy roads by using the underground shopping street. Wifi was tricky as we were some distance from reception but it was not that important to us. Breakfast was basic but there was plenty of it, no-one left hungry. We only stopped one night and would definitely have been happy to stay longer. And the lift is great, felt like you were in a 1950s film when riding in it !!
"Amazing host, great accommodations"

We stayed here for three nights in July. Betta is the best host you could ask for. She's a fountain of information and very helpful with maps and little travel tips. The B&B was immaculate. Large, spotless, great beds, she even stocked the fridge with an assortment of Italian drinks. This was by far the best place we stayed in our two week italian trip. Thank you Betta. Six stars!
"Outstanding Host, Great Location & VERY Clean"

The B&B Marbo in Florence Italy is conveniently located to transportation. We were warmly greeted by Betta who made us feel like we were with family! She has great attention to detail and the room was incredibly clean. She offers cookies, cake and a drink anytime the guests want to help themselves. The breakfast was delicious and she always offered a second cup of cappuccino or espresso. Betta recommended restaurants and things to do based on our time. She gave directions. Her sons, Cosimo and Costitino are wonderful as well. We definitely enjoyed our stay with them. The room was very comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful experience in Florence!
"Hospitality at its finest"
06/16/14 Matt H Northborough, Massachusetts
Absolutely could not ask for more out of this B&B. Not only was the room fantastic, Betta was without a doubt the best resource we had during a two week stay in Italy. Within 10 minutes of arriving, we had a detailed map of the city with all major landmarks pointed out. In previous hotels we didn't even get a map, never mind a personal concierge! My wife's birthday was during our trip so in addition to suggesting a great restaurant for us to try, we came back to a complimentary bottle of wine and dessert in our room. The location cannot be beat, barely a 5 minute walk from the main train station. The room itself was extremely clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was perfect, a selection of pastries, meats, breads and juices, as well as freshly made caffeinated options. It's amazing how a personal experience can affect a trip. Betta and her sons provided that for us and we cannot thank them enough. Please give this B&B a look if you're planning to stay in Florence, you will not regret it.
"Home away from home."

Greeted by first name upon arrival made me look around in surprise, we had stayed in 2 other cities and had not got so much as a smile when first walking into the hotel. From that moment on Betta and her family run B & B could not do enough to help us. We were walked to our room and told that we had complimentary drinks in the fridge in our room which they would replenish upon request. Every time we saw Betta and her son we were asked our plans for the day and they would go out of her way to book tickets, help us avoid queues, save us money and ensure we got on the correct buses (even putting the stops on our map and which bus number). The room is modern which is unusual for Florence and very clean. The breakfast was included and fresh each day. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel but even more so I would recommend Betta and her family, they were the heart of Florence for us.
"Florence culural trip"
What a lovely family who run this super B & B. Mama is Betha so warm & friendly greeting everyone at breakfast. Sons Cosimo & Constantino very helpful with directions printing off tickets & general enquiries. Room lovely. Shower hot & powerful better than home! Lots of choice at breakfast proper coffee & croissants. All great. Thanks so much guys. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Mandy & 3 friends.

We struggled to find the hotel after we got off the train in Florence - it is located in a building that is not well signed and that requires you to buzz to get in. It is difficult to hear the person on the other end, as there is a fairly busy bus stop right outside the door! Once inside, you are confronted with the choice of an ancient looking lift which is tiny (2 people and luggage would not fit even if we considered it safe!), or flights of stairs. After finally getting inside, we were given a room on the "first floor", which meant we had to then descend a set of internal steps to get to the room. The room itself was ok, however the biggest concern was the lack of fire alarms in the room (noting a candle was provided in the room!) and the location of the fire escape was not clear or explained to us. Presumably if we needed to escape, it would have been a jump out the window (2 stories down), or back up the stairs to the main exit and then down the external stairs (not great if an emergency did occur obviously)! The breakfast was ok, but nothing spectacular, and the Wifi was intermittent at best. The manager was very helpful and friendly, however, this was not enough to make me want to return.
