The Rossroe was MUCH farther away driving distance from Galway than I expected (1.5 hrs). It was set in a beautiful and peaceful area on a peninsula. The pictures the hotel shows do not do it justice - was much nicer in person. Host and Hostess were lovely. Breakfast was delicious and you have a number of choices on menu included. Very clean. If you […] are looking for plush and luxurious, this is not the place. If you want a getaway with amazing views and quiet walks - you will love it. Great value also. "Perfect spot to get away from it all"
Just spent one night here, but wished it could have been longer. Friendly and helpful hosts, wonderful breakfast with an abundance of healthy and inventive choices and takes on traditional fare. The room was beautiful and very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Wonderful B&B in wonderful location"
This B&B is off beaten track in an amazing rural location overlooking the sea. Such a beautiful area Mary and Slyvain were friendly hosts, the bedrooms and bathroom were spotless, modern and a good size. Breakfast was great quality and lots to choose from. We were really happy with our choice of B&B in this area and want to return again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Good sized delightful room and en suite, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Arrived to tea and scones, which was a nice touch. Wide choice of breakfast options with fresh fruit salad and cereals. Situated close to all the beautiful scenery Galway has to offer.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Away from the world!"
If it's your pleasure to stay far from towns and cities, but yet in a gorgeous location, and with the highest standard in B&B hospitality, you should go 4.5km down a little narrow and winding road near Cashel in Connemara and find Rossroe Lodge. It's a GREEN TOURISM B&B, in a lovely modern house, overlooking Cashel Bay. No car sounds, nothing but birdsong, […] the odd cow lowing, maybe a donkey, just peace and beauty and quiet - the perfect neighbourhood. AND, the food is super! Easy parking for your car, helpful maps for your walks, assistance for any other information you want - Mary and Sylvain are naturally good hosts and will cook dinner or arrange packed lunches if you want. Take a few days to walk or bike and I guarantee you'll want to return Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Molto attenti all'ambiente.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Wonderful B&B in fantastic location."

I stayed with my parents at Rossroe Lodge for two nights. Although it is in a rural location I found it easily with help from Google Maps / Street View. The views and surrounding area are certainly worth driving out of the way to. Mary and Sylvain are friendly hosts and they have put a lot of effort to provide their guests with a absolutely first rate B&B. The rooms are modern, amazingly clean and very comfortable. The bathroom is spotless. Wireless internet was adequate. We had a lot of choice for breakfast and the full Irish would be very hard to beat. My parents said this is the best B&B they have ever stayed at. I would love to go back some day.
"Tranquil beauty in Connemara"
08/19/14 Bear B Claremont, California
After being welcomed by Mary with tea and a scrumptious cake, we took a long walk down the road along the bay. What beautiful, unspoiled scenery! Took zillions of pictures. Our stay was in early July and we had spectacular weather. We were impressed with Mary and Sylvain's commitment to sustainable living practices and have shared what we saw at Rossroe Lodge with many like minded friends here at home. Slept well and enjoyed a delicious breakfast! This is what a B and B should be; lovely people opening their home to travelers who can connect over delicious food, while learning about the local sites. Will recommend Rossroe Lodge to everyone, and will book again if we ever are lucky enough to go back to Ireland.
"Great place in Connemara"

Rossroe Lodge B&B has 4 ensuite rooms. It is located quitly on the Peninsula south of Cashel with beautiful sights on the bay and the mountains. Rossroe is easy to reach and a perfect starting point for day trips and walks. Rooms are simply good. Beds are comfortable and the bathroom has a very large shower. Thanks to the location of the B&B, no worries about noise. This is a place for food lovers. Next to the traditional fruits, cornflakes, yoghurts and so on, one can choose between several dishes for breakfast, e.g.: Irish, fish or even sweet treats. The food is delicious. There is the possibility to have dinner. Hosts are very friendly and will help you with whatever you need. A lot of touristic information is provided in the rooms, but the majority can be found in the common living room. For walks in Connemara, the book by Paul Phelan is a must-have. The hosts will point you out to good place to have dinner. We stayed 3 nights. This was the perfect starting point to discover Connemara.

We only stayed 1 night with our 8-year old son, because we were on a tight travelling schedule through all of Ireland, but we would have loved to stay longer. Beautiful location, surrounded by nature, breathtaking views of the lake, all peace and quiet. Our hosts were friendly and modest, welcomed us with tea and cake, we had the triple room upstairs. I thought it might be a bit small, looking at the pictures, but it was perfect, very private. I would definitely choose this room again. We slept with both windows open and a pleasant cold breeze entered our room. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was good. I would have loved the possibility to have breakfast outside on their wooden terrace with those beautiful lakeviews and fresh air, but I suppose some guests might find it chilly. Next time we will definitely try Silvain´s menu. Lovely place!
"In another world"
07/31/14 happyout Dublin, Ireland
Rossroe Lodge is a small B&B but its welcome, accommodation, food, and peaceful scenic location are of the highest quality. It is totally 'away from it all', a couple of miles (or about 4-5km) down a tiny, winding, cul-de-sac road overlooking Cashel Bay in Connemara. Complete quiet, absolutely beautiful view, no parking problems. It's run by a young Hiberno-French couple who really care about good food and the environment. They'll give you walking and cycling routes, packed lunches, will cook you dinner (pre-book that) and look after you so well that you'll want to stay longer and definitely want to return. Breakfast was delicious, so good that it broke the ice and everyone in the room wanted to chat and compare plans for the day. What a civilised way to live!

We stayed in Rossroe Lodge with 3,5 year old son - he loved the trampoline:) Fabulous setting, easy to find (we still use maps:), Mary and Sylvain great hosts. Very nice evening meal and breakfast. We enjoyed our short stay and would recommend the B&B to everyone! Thank you / Merci beaucoup! Agnieszka, Graham and Christopher, UK
"Beautiful view of the water"
06/23/14 Johanna B Huntington, Massachusetts
My husband and I stayed for 2 nights. The room was adequate but not spectacular. Food was very good. Our room had a large window looking at the back of the yard. The owners young daughter would ride her bike in our view. The room needed blinds for privacy. Nice people. French spoken by everyone but us.

My wife and I stayed here with my elderly parents and could not have wished for a better place. We knew it was in a remote spot but it is very easy to drive to and once there there was no need to look for somewhere to eat. Sylvain an Mary were excellent hosts and the evening meal was restaurant standard. Breakfast was good. Could have easily stayed longer but on a schedule. Highly recommend this wonderful place.

This establishment deserves all the accolades it gets. It's isolated, but within driving distance of many other places. The hosts, Mary and Sylvain, are charming, helpful and attentive, and Sylvain is a wonderful cook - breakfast and dinner are experiences in themselves. The ocean view is beautiful, the lodge is new, comfortable and very eco-friendly, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Staying here is an experience not to be missed if you enjoy a quiet rural environment with welcoming hosts and great food.

It's remote and lovely, run by an Irish woman and her French husband who cooked us a delicious gourmet breakfast. It's right by the bay with many nice walks around, and a short drive away from the spooky round stone bog. It's an ecologically friendly place to boot!
