"Great boutique hotel right on the beach!"
My husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary in Barbados and could not have made a better choice than the Soco hotel. The staff was attentive and genuinely friendly and personable. One night when my husband's relatives came to visit us Christine made a point of coming over and introducing herself and talking with them. The food was incredible as […] well. Always hot and flavorful and a varied menu every day. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent All-Inclusive Hotel"
SoCo is a great experience. Amazingly friendly staff, quiet, beautiful beach. The food and drinks were all great. My only less than perfect experience was the air conditioning in our room. Our room never cooled down as much as I would have liked, so sleeping was not the most comfortable. But, overall we loved our stay and would return.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great staff, good food, so relaxing! We really liked the decor and the room had lots of storage. Good spot to take a dip in the sea, or walk the beach or boardwalk. Many amenities within walking distance. Intimate atmosphere, personalized service. We'd return in a heartbeat!

[…] Good location near the ocean. All rooms looking at the ocean. Good for walkers and runners. Good style rooms....but when you look on details it is poor. For food lovers inappropriate. Main staff are nice but personal service is lax but that's normal in Caribbean. Hotel does not offer fresh juices or coconut water which I think is absurd in the Caribbean. The bar offer is poor quality. But all you can buy near the hotel.
"Great Value for our Money"

Visited this beautiful, cozy hotel in october 2014 and had a great time. The food was excellent, staff were friendly and the hotel was stunning. Only issue we had was the sound from the roads travelling to the rooms and made it very difficult to sleep at night. I wish the soundproofing was better. Location is great. We found the deal on travelzoo and it was a great find. We paid Cuba prices to stay at this beautiful place. I would jump on the opportunity to visit again!
"Great Stay over New Year."

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Soco Hotel for six nights spanning New Years Eve. We were fortunate to have room 408 which is on the top floor (best view) and at the end closest to the beach. The only downside to being on the top floor is that there is no elevator and so hauling luggage up and down the stairs can be an exhausting challenge, however the view makes it all worthwhile. The hotel is All Inclusive and we could not fault the food, even though the menus for lunch and dinner did not change while we were there, although there was a different 'daily special' every day. The drinks were good and obviously plentiful. The gorgeous white sand beach is steps away from the pool deck and there are loungers available for guests. The only drawbacks were the lack of a gym and the road noise early in the morning from local private minibuses honking their horns to attract passengers. It was difficult to stay asleep beyond 7am any morning as the road runs adjacent to the hotel . Michelle and the rest of the staff were superb and very friendly. Highly recommend this hotel if you want to chill out and relax.

Stayed at the Soco on recommendation of Tropical Sky, didn't want to be surrounded by hoards of people and just wanted to relax! We were certainly not disappointed! Absolutely brilliant stay, staff were fantastic and always happy to help. Michelle is worth her weight in gold! The room was brilliant, stayed on the 2nd floor. View was brilliant from the balcony! A lot of other people staying there had tried other hotels and resorts on the island, however they all said the same thing… Soco is by far the best choice and everyone we spoke to had planned on returning. The food was very good, the drinks flowed and it was just perfect to relax, switch off and re charge! What more could you want from a holiday!
"Lovely stay, bad WiFi"

We stayed here back in July, on a travelzoo special deal for the last 4 nights of our holiday. Overall the a la carte menu was excellent, albeit a bit tiresome after the two days the standard was super. Bring a snorkel for the beach outside to swim with puffa fish. Alcohol choice was OK, shame the bar shut early/poor bar service some nights. Noise from road traffic but this wasnt too much of a problem. Overall I would stay again, probably for a similar amount of time, as the island has so many other areas to explore!

"First visit to Barbados - will not be the last."

We were at Soco for a week from 30/11/14. We flew from Birmingham via a Thomson Deamliner which potentially started the holiday brilliantly. When we arrived, Thomson disembarked their cruise guests first, and with that and long queues at immigration and a further unexplained delay with the baggage for the 50 or so staying on Barbados, we were delighted when we finally arrived at SoCo. A single receptionist was already dealing with another couple so we were not shown to our room as quickly as we would have preferred with but after a swift rum punch then check in we arrived in our room #202. As nice as it was (all the rooms are adequate with amazingly comfortable beds), it wasn't the deluxe room we had booked. It was explained it wouldn't be available until 3pm the next day. That was disappointing as we were keen to unpack and settle in, only being there for 7 nights. Undeterred, we got changed, hit the bar and realised how ideal this hotel was for us (although very quiet in the evenings). All the staff are lovely, some simply more engaging than others. The guests, mainly Brits were 40’s + and good company. We enjoyed the food (it would have been very easy to overeat). The menu’s changed every two days and had plenty of choice including loads of fish. We were also happy with the quality of the drinks (red wine quite palatable), alcoholic or not. Yes, it would have been nice to have been served the local Banks beer but the St Vincent brew we had was fairly weak and therefore harmless! We particularly enjoyed Michelle’s rum tasting where she also shared some local Bajan delicacies – a nice touch from her. We normally stay at small hotels but with more facilities than this so we found the boardwalk a blessing for an early morning run. It was great to run each 1 mile stretch (next to an azure blue sea with the occasional turtle in the waves). The beach itself was small but perfectly formed and the coral outcrops created a safe swimming area. There was even enough sea life on the rocks for some enjoyable casual snorkelling. Why only 4 stars? Be prepared for road noise. The swimming pool deck is below road level and very quiet but as soon as you ascend the stairs to the rooms, the noise is constant. It disturbed my sleep, my husband heard nothing!!!! The toiletries provided are not good quality. No shower gel, only soap. If you are particular, take your own. The maids, however to a great job. They never left us short of anything. We had read there was one beach towel per guest per week but this is not the case. We had a fresh one every day. There is a fridge in the room with nothing in it. The supply of soft drinks and beers is plentiful at the bar so a few small bottles in the fridge would be welcome. There are few sockets evident in the rooms and all we found were of US format. We were given a great hint by a previous guest – take a four gang extension with your a continental adapter so we had an IT charging station on the desk! I am hesitant to say much more about this hotel as we don’t want it to get to popular as we are sure to return especially as our dissatisfaction regarding the allocation of our room was resolved swiftly and generously by Tropical Sky and Soco on our return home.
"I can't wait to come back"

The SoCo had just the vibe that we were looking for: low-key, chill and friendly. The small size made it easy to get to know the staff, who were accommodating and attentive. In particular, Michelle was extremely helpful in setting up a customized tour of the island and sharing tips for restaurants and other points if interest. Safety and cleanliness are always important to me and both were not an issue here. The food was also very good. Some caveats: I was on a couples getaway and if I were to bring my kids not sure I would stay here because the pool is small and there are no organized waterspouts activities. But perfect for an adults only stay!
"What a find!"

We have been visiting Barbados for 30 years and seen many changes. The redevelopment of this area of the south coast is very welcome and after seeing the SoCo on our visit to the island last February we decided we would like to stay. Our stay was short, either end of a cruise but we will surely return. I can only reiterate what has been said on these posts. The rooms are good, the views fabulous, the beach perfect and the staff? Words are not enough, what an asset, all of them. Welcoming, friendly, helpful, cheerful, caring and truly with the Barbadian charm. How those three ladies we saw in the kitchen turn out such great, freshly made, local food needs special comment. Management please take note, you are lucky to have these people. You have to remember this is a small hotel and doesn't come with all the organised 'bells and whistles' but what fantastic value for money in a great location.
"Happy week well cared for by friendly staff"

We really enjoyed our week at the SoCo early December this year. What made it so enjoyable was the staff at the hotel. They were friendly, caring and attentive and went out of there way to make our holiday enjoyable. I wanted to say thank you and happy Christmas to them all , many thanks Jody and Mike .
