"small hotel near bts"
tiny elevator only fit 2 person with luggages. The receptionist doesn't speak english so it's kinda hard to communicate with them. I got early flight so I gotta check out at 6, and no one is at the lobby!!! They gonna charged if we broke hotel equipment but seriously I got a room with broken towel hanger plus there's such stain on my bedsheet plus the […] bathroom tiles feels like it going to break everytime I step on it. It's 5 minutes walking from bts, with tesco lotus express nearby but not many street hawkers there and the hotel located in a quiet alley Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Functional, clean, good value"
The economy rooms are small, bordering on very small so be careful. Functional, clean, but a little cramped. The value for what I paid is excellent and for a short stay of couple of days, its fine. For a little more the standard rooms look a better proposition. Breakfast is included and while only basic, at this price range its a welcome addition.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great location, cosmeticly clean"
Great location that's all I would say and excellent for one night stand, not for longer than that. Rooms are very small no wardrobe or any place to hang shirts etc no vents in the bathrooms which is 3feet from beds, sink is in room and about 2feet from bed, use your suitcase for wardrobe and you will have to walk over it to get to bed. Rooms are appx,8x10x6feet […] hight. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"편리한 위치 저렴한 가격"
에카마이 근처에 숙소를 찾던 중 저렴한 가격에 위치도 훌륭하여 선택. 방은 작지만 청결한 편이었음. 다만 욕실 및 변기는 조금 지저분 했음. 저렴한 가격에 잠깐 묵기에는 추천할만 함.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel was very basic and clean. Hotel was equipped with soap and shampoo dispenser, bar soap, shower cap and safety box. I stayed there for a week and everything went well so far. The wifi worked fine. However the only downside is I could hear the door slam, loud conversation, and the sound of the plates during breakfast time, so if you're a light sleeper its not that advisable. The staffs spoke a little english so i couldnt strike a conversation with them. But overall it was a pleasant stay. Its about 5mins walk from the ekkamai bts station. And heres the directions if anyone of you need it. Once alighted at Ekkamai BTS, go Down the stairs and look up for the exit to sukhumvit 63. Once you exit there will be a restaurant on your left followed by a junction. Cross over [when you see the opportunity or its slightly cleared, just cross it]. Then turn into the street. There will be office, motor taxi, mk restaurant along the way. If you're lost just ask where is the mk restaurant or esso. Walk down till you see dalian restaurant. Turn into the alley you should be able to see it. No worries the alley has security officer. Have fun. :)

We got to Bangkok often but are now a little too old and a little too bored of the hassle at Banglamphu. If you are looking to stay somewhere else other than there or Chinatown I'd recommend this area. It is so nice to just jump on MRT without having deal to deal with the taxi drivers of Banglamphu refusing to use the meter. The room are small but very clean and comfortable. The self service breakfast is fine also.
"Standard room, good location"
04/18/14 Phuong Anh B Hanoi
The hotel is located quite near BTS Ekamai and Ekamai Bus Station and in a rather quiet area. If you go there by skytrain, you can find it by navigating "Jack lives here" pub and it's on the same street side with the Coffee Club and MK Restaurant. It might take you 3-5 minutes walking to the hotel. The staff couldn't speak English so well so they don't try to make friendly conversations with guests. The room is very small, like the smallest room I've ever been to. It's equipped with LCD tv, safety box, aircon, hot shower and basic toiletries. Breakfast is basic with toast with butter and jam, cereal, orange juice, milk, tea and coffee. It can be quite noisy sometimes with the sound of doors slamming. The guests can't help it, I think the doors are supposed to make such noise. It will be good for budget traveling, or one night only to catch a bus the next morning. Can conveniently go to and from Suvanaburmi airport since it's quiet near one of the stops of Airport raillink.
"Cheap and OK for bus station"
03/07/14 GailVSmith Worthing, United Kingdom
This hotel is really backpacker quality. The room was 8 feet square and extremely hot on arrival. Once the cases were put down there was no where to go! However, It was clean and the aircon worked. Reception seemed very nonchalant and disinterested in the guests. Tea and coffee were available and breakfast (in the foyer) was reasonable with cereal and toast. Cheap and OK for one night.

This hotel is quite small but if you find a cheap hotel, good location and friendly staff - this is definitely your considerable one. The reception staff is very helpful and friendly :). This hotel is located in Ekamai, very near the BTS and bus station as well. The only negative point is small room
"no frills accommodation in a good location"
01/01/14 missindy Paphos, Cyprus
I stayed alone in a standard room and the space was just adequate. I actually went back down to reception to check if I had been allocated an economy room by mistake but no, the room was the largest available. OK for one person but 2 might struggle. I arrived very early and for a small charge my room was made available to me. Definitely "no frills" decor, but quite acceptable. I had no issues with noise. As previous reviewers have commented the room did smell, but not from the bathroom. There was a musty smell every time I entered, but it soon disappeared on opening the window. The room and the bathroom were clean as was the bedding and towels. The location is excellent - close to the skytrain with enough local eateries. There is a "beer garden" on the corner with good thai food and live music.
"Avoid like the plague!"

After reading positive reviews on booking sites that averaged a score of 7/10, we chose this place as it was near to Ekkamai station, only 30 minutes drive from the airport and the rooms looked decent for the price. After walking in the door, the vibes given off by the two on the front desk made us look at each other and say, "This isn't a brothel, is it?" After asking the two people at reception, "Do you have a double room?" Our passports were demanded and photocopied and we were ignored while the guy looked at the computer and after a few minutes said, "I can't find your booking!" I explained we didn't have a booking, we were walk-in customers and he tutted and announced they had one room. At this point, I was beginning to get a really bad vibe: the guy (purple nail and toe varnish, hair in a top knot) was being aggressive to the woman - yes she seemed barely competent - but it wasn't pleasant to watch. Another guest then appeared and announced his electricity kept turning off every five minutes. We were shown a room and told it was 900 baht. He pointed out some damp on the ceiling and said not to worry about it. Jokingly, I said, "Perhaps we can have the room for 800 then!" He just said, "No, 900!" The room was fine for us so we agreed to take it and went downstairs to reception. We were then completely ignored - my partner was saying, "I don't like him at all" - he then made a phone call whilst we were standing there thinking, "Well, we've already filled in the form...are you going to give us the key or are we just going to have to stand here and where are our passports you copied?" Finally, he gets off the phone and says, "1000 baht". I pointed out the business cards in the lobby that said "walk-in 900 baht" and that he had told us it was 900 and he was saying, "No, 1000 baht". At this point, the final night of our great 10 days in Thailand and about my 12th or so trip to the country, my weird vibe metre was on 10/10 (OK, I had just spent 5 hours on a bus so was slower than usual and was not relishing the prospect of searching for another hotel). We asked for our passports back and the photocopies they'd made. We got the passports and then the incompetent woman couldn't locate the copy so we started uncovering papers on the desk until we found it ourselves! I got the impression that the owner was away and had left some friend in charge but even so, it seemed the owner was the one who was telephoned and decided to try it on and get 1000 instead of 900. An hour later (hotels were full or too expensive), we checked into Sawadee Sukhumvit and had pleasant service, a clean big room and a nice breakfast for 1200.

I use to always stay in the backpacker area because it was more budget. However, I discovered this little gem in Ekkamai and I'm not looking back. I think for the price of the room, it is great value and in a really good location. It is just close enough to the BTS (3 min walk) but just far enough that you can't hear the trains at night. The room and hotel was really clean and they have an elevator which is nice. The economy rooms are big enough for one person but too squishy if you try to squeeze a couple in there. The standard rooms or the next level up is really spacious. There is a lot of light which is nice and the bathrooms had hot water. The breakfast is pretty simple but there's so much great food in Bangkok, I don't mind eating out again after. There is also a great little street food restaurant place on the corner of the Soi and the BTS station which has really authentic tasting Thai food. Their tom yum was the best. There is also a cinema within 5 min walk and a Big C so it's convenient for a late night movie.
"It is ok at a pinch for the price"
09/22/13 KezzaBrisbane Brisbane, Australia
For the price the hotel is just ok. It is in an excellent location close to the BTS as has been mentioned. the basic breakfast is fine also and a nice offering. The downside is that the rooms are extremely small, and there is no cupboard for clothes,, just a hanging metal bar over the bench. The a/c works well and in fact is too cold at night. The putrid smell coming from the bathroom was enough to make you nauseous. Was never able to track down where the smell originated. It was noisy on my floor with people coming and going all hours of the night. I am not a light sleeper, but I was woken on many occasions. I think this was more a reflection of the lack of soundproofing than anything else. I would spend a few hundred more bhat and look elsewhere.
