"Best place I've ever stayed in NY."
Beautiful building, perfect location and absolutely stunning views. Staff was super friendly as well. We even had a movie shooting in the hotel (fair amount of celebrity sightings) but it didn't effect the services offered by the hotel. Amazing free breakfast.., yes, an actual hot breakfast with fresh cooked eggs and countless other options, buffet […] style. We just loved this place and will absolutely stay there again next time we're in town. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clerical: Not so great. Hotel: Amazing."
The hotel itself was amazing. Rooms were in great condition, amenities plentiful, breakfast was wonderful and had a great view, fitness room had a very large sprawling floor-to-ceiling view of the city, etc. A++ on all counts. Had a few clerical issues with the actual hotel though. Firstly, their website/this page/all other info states every room has […] a bathtub in it. I booked the hotel for that reason, and even stated that preference in the comments just in case. My room did not have a bath, but the front desk was very accommodating and fixed this within 10 minutes. Second, my card was charged the full amount of the room a secondary time once I had checked out and left (after already paying through hotels.com), but it took very little time after the fact to ask the hotel to look into the charge, and reverse it when they found it was in error. All things considered, I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Our family spent five nights in this hotel. We had three separate rooms, and each one was lovely. The staff could not have been more polite, friendly, or professional. We were able to walk to Broadway shows, museums, and very good restaurants. We were also able to walk about two blocks to get on the TCM classic movies tour, which was a lot of fun. My sister had very bad memories of her previous visit to NYC, and now, she can hardly wait to return. We will definitely stay at this hotel again because we want her to love NYC as much as we do.
"Great new Start"

After years of Holiday Inns near Manhattan, we were glad do try the new Marriot on 54th street. WOW! Very Modern, very customer oriented, nice bistro to relax and Location/Location/Location. This newly opened hotel is really trying to make a good first impression and they sure did during our visit in February. This may be our new "base of operations" as we visit our kids & the grandkids on 57th street.
"Definitely would stay here again"
My husband and I booked a room on the 17th floor at the Courtyard inn. The Courtyard floors are on the lower half of the hotel, up to floor 19. We planned to attend a Valentines day comedy show at Caroline's on Broadway which turned out to be about 4 blocks away. Upon check in the hotel staff greeted us after a short wait. The lady who checked us in was very warm and pleasant and gave us a good first impression of the hotel. The decor was modern and a little cold and the lighting was dim. The friendly staff counteracted the feeling you get from the atmosphere. The room was very nice with a nice view of the city. Being on the higher floor allowed us to just lay in the bed and look at the skyline. The bathroom was a little dirty with what looked like makeup on the light switch, nothing too drastic. There was a nice stand up shower with clear glass doors and bath and body works amenities. The bed was very comfortable and everything smelled very new. There's on street parking metered parking for 6 hrs. On Fri night you can park free (right in front if available)because the meter doesn't start until 8am. Overall this was a very nice comfortable and convenient hotel. We definitely would stay here again.

Stayed at this location for 4 nights in February. Yes, the room was a little small, but who wants to stay in their hotel room in NYC? Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and helpful. Rooms were very pleasing to the eye and loved having the Keurig coffee maker. Good location and it was easy to get a cab. Will definitely stay here again.
"Teeny, tiny rooms -- but pretty!"

Brand new hotel. Attractive rooms with pretty orange accents but TINY! The space between the end of the bed and the TV console was extremely tight. There were two narrow seats/benches on either side of the TV which would be very uncomfortable for sitting in to read. Other than the bed, the only other place to sit was the desk chair. I assume that this room size is standard, given that at check in we told the clerk we were celebrating a special birthday and requested a larger room. After teasing me about my age, he said he had a nice room selected for us. Another unfortunate feature was the bathroom door configuration. These side by side doors have a gap between them allowing someone using the bathroom or exiting the shower to be seen from the hallway. Keurig coffee maker in room was very nice feature though. I would not stay here again. Bigger rooms with similar luxury are numerous in the area.

Booked this hotel 10 days after it opened for 2/21 check-in. The rates at that time were very reasonable. The hotel opened Dec / 2013 and everything is still new. The room had 2 double beds and it was small, even for New York. 1 bed touched the window and the other bed touched the wall, about 20" between. It had everything we needed. Great Keurig singe coffee maker with a variety of k-cups. The bathroom was excellent with a rain shower head, great lighting, tile walls. There is a small frige and safe in the room. The elevators worked very fast, no waiting for 4 days. Our room ended in a 14 and the view was nothing. The 4th floor lounge was absolutely wonderful. What a fantastic place to relax, have a Starbucks coffee, watch a large screen TV or use the computers to print boarding passes. The BEST thing at this hotel is the employees. I had interaction with 1 or more employees every day and each one was delightful. I made the comment about how helpful everyone was and the employee said they were trying to change the general idea that all New Yorkers are unfriendly. Well they certainly are doing a great job. I have traveled many times to NY in 20 years and this hotel was awesome.
Could not ask for a better located property. About four blocks away from Times Square and Central park respectively. Subway two blocks away. Very courteous staff eager to help, particularly in the lobby. As in any brand new property, everything is very neat and organized. Hopefully it will stay that way. Planning a second stay soon. Loved the orange in the bathrooms and the spacious cafeteria/lounge on the second floor. Room care was a bit disappointing. Left without shampoo once. Had to request things like cream. Glasses were not replaced. Nothing major but those little things that annoy any guest.
"Above the rest!"

I frequently visit NYC and have stayed in many hotels. This one is by FAR my favorite. The view from our room of Central Park & the city lights was spectacular! I couldn't believe the size either! Most rooms in the city are quite small, but this felt like a studio apt. The small kitchen certainly helped. The decor was beautiful, modern yet comfortable. The staff was so incredibly friendly & helpful. I actually felt like I'd been friends with them for months. Marriott has gone above and beyond with this skyline beauty. And the location is perfect. Close to Broadway, Times Square, Central Park & Rockefeller Center. Perfect!

Loved this location! Booked 2 rooms on Marriott points. We walked to our broadway show, Central Park, Times Square, Hell's Kitchen, and Rockefeller Center. New modern rooms, very cool. I saw another reviewer with hilarious comment about fabric softener for sheets! Yes they were a bit stiff, but I took that as they were new and clean. Staff was great, they checked our bags for free for the day so we could sightsee after checkout. Very attentive. AND we saw props for Sharknado2 that was being filmed in front of hotel. Would come back again.
"Fantastic location, staff make this place amazing!"

I just returned home from three fast and fun-filled days in NYC and can't wait to go to sleep but first I MUST give this hotel a fabulous review! My son and I loved everything about this place. First, the location is the best -- walking distance to all the attractions yet off the beaten path enough that you get a quiet, wonderful night's sleep. Second, the 4th floor lounge is fabulous. It has amazing views, a Starbucks, tons of comfy seating with individual TVs and computers, free wifi, etc. It's a great place to hang out for coffee or a drink away from your room. Finally, and best of all, the outstanding staff! We have stayed at $700 a night resorts and not been treated as well as we were here. The front desk people and everyone else we came into contact with went out of their way to make sure we were having a nice stay. I loved our room, comfy new bed, temperature-control shower and the view, but most of all I appreciated how kind and helpful everyone was, and not in a fake way either. In a way that said they are determined to make this hotel stand out and above the rest. And it does! Stay here. It's the best hotel I've ever stayed in in NYC, and we've tried a bunch.
