"Great location, small rooms"

"Quiet part of the city"
The hotel was in a very quiet, relaxing area in the city called Jordan. I highly recommend this location if you want to avoid all of the noise of the city, yet still be in a trendy spot. There were nearby restaurants and bars that were very nice, as well as great shopping. It was a bit of a walk to the art museums, but doable (approximately 30 minutes). […] Definitely a nice spot to stroll around! The hotel staff was extremely helpful and personable. They provided a fabulous breakfast and were willing to call to make taxi reservations for the airport. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed. Be advised that all rooms in Amsterdam are smallish, so this is no exception. I'd recommend anyone to stay in this hotel! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quiet hotel in quiet neighbourhood."
Two Night stay. Room was not serviced at all. Tiny rooms yet functional. A bed and a shower. 20 minute walk to Dam Square. Staff were exceptionally friendly. Reasonable value for money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay"
We had a small but nice and clean ensuite room. It's a nice hotel, situated on the Lindengracht in the lovely Jordaan district of Amsterdam. Staff are friendly too and speak great English.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good value for money in central location"
Was staying for a single night only on my own. The staff were really friendly with both checking in & out being very easy. The rooms are small but that is well advertised, ideal for one person, may struggle with space if two of you were staying for any considerable amount of time. I can also see that rooms on the 1st /ground floor may be subject to […] noise from the reception area so try to get one higher up if possible. The area is superb, with the street it is on having plenty of bars and restuarants and with the lively Jordaan area only a few street sounth, and Central station about 2km east.Would reccomend for a short stay as value for money but may get a bit cosy of their for longer than a weekend. The Linden Hotel has recently been stylishly refurbished so everything is very clean and up to date. The staff was very welcoming - even though we were an extremely late arrival, and had to wake someone to get in, he certainly did not make us feel that we were inconveniencing him at all and we appreciated that very much. We opted for the morning breakfast […] in the hotel and were served a basic 'european' breakfast which got us going. It is located in the Jordaan neighbourhood, a very walkable part of the city. The houses are very close together and interesting, which makes the area even more charming. Lots of cafes nearby. The location allowed us to walk to the Anne Frank House and on from there. We would be happy to stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Koselig beliggenhet, hard seng/pute"
"Small, quirky traditonal style hotel in gorgeous quiet but convenient area"
10/14/14 Roger V Milton Keynes, United Kingdom
After struggling to find a reasonably priced hotel in a good area of the city, we were delighted with our choice of the Linden. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel as a convenient, good value base to see this unique city. The hotel has just 25 rooms in an old building but has been modernised inside to a good standard. Space is at a premium and I'd read from reviews that rooms are very small so we paid a little extra for one of the 3 Superior Rooms and again were very happy. The only small criticisms I would level at our room are that the ensuite shower room has a shelf right over the sink which makes face-washing awkward; soap and a a towel rail would also have been welcome. Staff were extremely welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable. Breakfast sounded expensive at 12.50 euros but, booked a day in advance, a discount to 10 euros was given and it would have been difficult to find better value elsewhere. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the ready-made-up plate of croissants, meats, cheeses, egg when supplemented by cereal, fruit etc was enough to sustain us each day until our evening meal. Jordaan District is very pretty, quiet and non-touristy with plenty of bars & restaurants mainly catering to locals. The hotel sits at a point where 3 roads & a canal meet and on Saturday mornings an interesting local mixed market runs the length of one of the streets. Despite this, we experienced little noise, apart from occasional noise from the wooden floors in the corridors as other guests moved around. Location was perfect for our needs as we prefer to explore new cities on foot and we were able to reach Central Station (just 8-10 euros by taxi), Dam Square, Vondelspark and the main museum area inside 20-30 minutes each. The Anne Frank Museum is only 5 minutes walk which was very helpful as the queues were several hours long during the main part of the day so you can save a lot of time by getting there before it opens at 9am (we got there at 8.50 and still waited 1 hour to get in). A good selection of Canal Tours start outside Anne Frank Museum.
"Excellent little boutique hotel!"

Booked the Linden as it was one of the best priced hotels I found after trawling through hundreds, which looked modern and close to the city centre and i was not disappointed! The staff here are so friendly and helpful! On arrival we were told whenever your ready if you want some things pointing out on the map just pop back down and we'll see what your after! The staff are more than happy to point out anything if you've got a list of things to do in mind like we did. Bed was extremely comfy! Rooms are only small but more than enough space and have everything you need! Done extremely well with the space available. Hairdryer provided is great and there's an iron and ironing board available from reception if you need one, there's also a fan in the wardrobe. 5-10 minutes walking (depending how quick you walk) right into the centre! Jordan itself if a beautiful area with plenty of bars etc around. The locals are extremely friendly! Very chatty as we were heading back to the hotel after a quick scout around. There's a little supermarket up the road which we found useful for anything we wanted for the rooms its got a yellow sign called Jumbo cant miss it! Would definitely stay here again was a lovely weekend.
"Linden Hotel - very charming"

The receptionists at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. They had many good tips. The room was very cozy. The hotel for some people may be a bit too small. But it wasn't a problem for us, because the room was very stylish. The whole hotel has modern furnishings. It is well located. The neighborhood has a lot to offer. Mexican Bar/Restaurant 20m, Tappas-Bar 150m, Breakfast-Café 5m.

This hotel is a great hotel. Only a 15 walk from the train station or 10 euros in a taxi. We were greeted by Nina the receptionist who was polite and helpful. She offered advice about where to eat and attractions if we needed it. Very modern hotel and not many rooms which makes it personal. The elevator was small however we didn't have a problem climbing the stairs. Our room was in the loft, small but clean and modern. We had a safe which was easy to use. The bed was comfy, clean and the sheets were changed almost everyday. We had a hairdryer which was powerful, a TV which was small but we were not worried as we don't go on holiday to sit and watch TV. The carpet was clean. The bathroom was small but the shower was a good size. Clean towels were available everyday and also complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash was available. The only issue we had was that the room was very warm at night, however it was very strange tropical weather which apparently is very rare. Our room didn't have air con but had a fan so we were happy enough. Ample plugs in the room and we had tea/coffee making facilities. There is also free Wi-Fi and was quick and easy to log into. There was no outside noise therefore we had a peaceful sleep. Bottles water was available from the hotel at a charge. This made it handy at night. We booked this hotel through booking.com and payed before we left so it was just a matter of checking in and checking out. The price just fantastic and we would defiantly stay here again. Not a far walk from where everything is happening. A street away from Anne-Frank House.
"Great little hotel with an excellent location"

My husband and I stayed at Linden Hotel in mid-August in Rm. 28 for three nights. We had a great experience and would definitely consider staying here again. Room 28: This is a renovated room with cool orange accents throughout and a street view. It had a comfy, full size bed perfect for a couple. We heard that rooms can be tiny in this hotel, but our room was quite comfortable. We had plenty of space for our luggage with space to walk around. Could I do a cartwheel in the room? No. Could I walk around the room without bumping into my husband? Yes, and that's good enough for me! We really enjoyed our room. It was on the second floor, so the stairs weren't an issue for us. We had read that this hotel has thin walls and noise could be an issue. During our stay we could hear other guests closing their room doors, but didn't have any issues with talking or TV noise from other rooms. Hooray for good neighbors! Location: Perfect. Seriously, I can't say enough good things about how awesome the location is!. Located along a beautiful canal, it's very close to restaurants and shopping, but just tucked far away enough to allow for peaceful nighttime walks along the canal. The neighborhood itself is full of vintage shops, cafes, and artsy boutiques. It's very family friendly. I only saw a couple of "coffee shops" in the area. So the coffee shops are there if you are interested in paying a visit, but they are also easily avoidable if "coffee" isn't your thing :) This hotel is located in the Jordaan neighborhood and is pretty much walking distance to everything in the city. The Ann Frank Huis is about a 10 min. walk from the hotel. Dam Square is a 15 min. walk. Rijk/ Van Gogh museum are a bit further, about 30 min. walk, so we opted to use the city bus for that trip. Centraal Station is about a 15-20 min. walk. With everything so close, we only used the city bus twice and walked everywhere else. Not paying for a hop on/ hop off bus= more beer money! Staff Service: We couldn't be more pleased with the front desk staff at Linden hotel. They had great recommendations for site seeing, restaurants, and were very helpful in booking our airport transportation. They were always very friendly and happy to help. The only odd thing we experienced, and it's really no big deal, is that when our room was cleaned, one day one our bath towels wasn't replaced and on another day, a wet hand towel was left on my suitcase (and neither my husband or I put it there). I don't think it was intentional and I assume that the cleaning staff simply forgot to grab/ replace the towel before they left. Again, no big deal and it certainly didn't affect our stay, but I did find it a bit odd. Things to consider: We loved Linden and would absolutely stay here again. However, depending on your interests and needs, there may be a few things to consider. 1. No elevator. This is very common in Amsterdam boutique hotels, so taking the stairs is a must. Our room was on the 2nd floor, so we had no issues. However, if you are on a high floor or have trouble climbing stairs, this may pose an issue for some. 2. No AC. This is also pretty common among small hotels in Amsterdam and didn't pose a problem for us. We visited in August during an unusually cool week. We found that opening the window and using the fan (located in the closet) kept us pretty comfortable at night and in the morning. 3. Wifi is a little spotty. We were located on the 2nd floor of the hotel and had issues with the wifi signal dropping periodically. Luckily, we had data coverage on our phones and hopped onto the 3G network whenever the wifi failed. This wasn't a big deal to us, especially since we were only in our room while sleeping and while getting ready in the morning. Overall, this hotel is great and absolutely worth checking out. Next time we are in Amsterdam, we will definitely consider staying again! 3.

It's a smaller hotel, but that's what makes it so perfect. The staff is kind and the environment is calm and very personable. Everything about how we were handled from when we initially entered was great. Not robotic or mechanical standard service, they are willing to work with you and make sure you have a good time in Amsterdam. Will definitely visit again.

This was a great find. Clean, very comfortable hotel, within walking distance to everything in Amsterdam. Excellent beds and amenities. Friendly, knowledgeable hotel staff. Good restaurants and bars not far away.
"Friendly, very clean and great location"

This must be one of the most friendliest hotels I've visited ever....All the staff are so so genuine and nice and go that extra mile to advise you especially Eko. Our room was on the small size but it is a town house so no worries. You are in Amsterdam and narrow houses are what you expect. It was a very very clean hotel room...the carpet needs updating but again a minor issue. Washing on a morning was challenging with a ledge hanging over the basin but hey so what...another minor inconvenience. The hotel is in a brilliant location and a 12 € taxi ride got us there from the railway station but you can walk it comfortably. It is well worth staying here and good value - friendly, great location and lovely bars and restaraunts around. Anne Frank House less than 10 minutes walk away - we've been before so didn't have to join the hour or so queues we saw so book that in advance. Great market outside but go beyond the clothes and food there is some interesting antique stalls near the church. Thanks for a lovely stay we'd definitely come back to the Linden.
"Best Hotel In Amsterdam"
06/22/14 Vicky L Madrid, Spain
Such a welcoming friendly atmosphere at this hotel. The staff are the friendliest and the most helpful of any hotel I have ever stayed at. Eko (?) was always on hand for great advice and tips about Amsterdam and the hotels surroundings. Always greeted with a smile. The area is very quiet although there is a lot of small bars and cafes. I read some comments that it took 40 minutes to walk to the centre? Me and my fiancé were both limping (sprained ankle and twisted knee) it took us 15 minutes to walk to Dam Square or Damrak Straat. 5 minutes to Anne House. The room was small but they made good use of the space. Very clean and comfortable. Everything was designed and finished to a high standard. WIFI worked great to. Very reasonable price for the location. This hotel really made our trip special. Thank you to Linden Hotel. I hope we will be back and will definitely recommend to friends. I accidently clicked on swimming pool and don't know how to change it but the hotel doesn't have a pool.
