"Great place to stay"
Good room/hotel for the price. Highly recommend staying here, far better than the other hotels I stayed at in Victoria withing this price range. The staff was very friendly and helpful too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and well kept"
The building is a bit older but great effort has been taken to keep the place looking clean and fresh. Very close to several restaurants and Mayfair mall is across the street. friendly staff, Good valueGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overnight in Victoria"
Clean inexpensive hotel. Served its purpose.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Not bad hotel. The beds were hard but the couch was comfortable. For price there are others which are comparable and much nicer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quality of service"
Excellent service and friendly staff. Room was newly renovated with efficency unit. Hotel was close to major artery and 15 minutes or less from downtown. Malls and services within walking distance or short 5 minute drive.Would definitely stay again if visiting Victoria.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location, Comfortable, Reasonable"
Convenient location as we had business at both ends of the city. Surprisingly quiet for being close to the main street. Very welcoming. Could use better or more pillows (though we didn't ask). A selection of restaurants nearby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value for price"
Stayed for one night. Thought it would be a dive but turned out very clean and spacious. Definitely a "no thrills" type of motel, but a great value; I really enjoyed the apartment style setting with a full kitchen an ample closet spaceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Love the apartment style of them. Was a little loud, could hear everything the people around me were doing. No air conditioning in the room and the curtains could have been a little less see through. Other then that, liked itGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is centrally located. Plenty of places to eat. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good place to stay"
This hotel is dated but in good shape, clean and comfortable. There can be a bit of noise from other rooms but not muchGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best deal in the city"
I discovered this little secret during an Expedia search. Although I've lived near Victoria since 2005 I didn't know this place existed because it is hidden away on a side street. The staff were very pleasant and eager to make my stay as comfortable as possible. This is a 4 floor, apartment style hotel with an elevator. The room I had was very bright, […] spacious and clean. Althouth it had a small kitchenette including a microwave, full size fridge and stove, the use of the stove (and utensils) would cost $15.00 extra per day during "off season". The room did not have a coffee pot in it when I arrived, but when I informed the staff, Shelia was very quick to provide one, including filters, a cup, saucer and a spoon. The furniture was not new but very functional and comfortable, especially the queen beds which is the most important of all to me and I'm sure to most, if not all travellers. There was no air conditioner in the room (#401) and had only one, electric baseboard heater in the room but was adaquate in providing more than enough heat for me. The advantage of a side street location was the peace and quiet it provided. Although there is ample parking around the building, the parking stalls are a little too narrow if you are driving a full sized vehicle. The Mayfair Motel will definately be the first place I'll check for availability the next time I need a place to stay again in Victoria. Thanks Shelia and staff for making your facility a home away from home. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Surprisingly pleasant motel, warm and clean with a firm comfortable bed. The bathroom was immaculate. Good TV and wifi. There was also a full kitchen available for an extra charge (fridge can be used without without paying extra). The rates were very reasonable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Mayfair is a fine little motel located a short drive from downtown Victoria, about five minutes. Our room was very clean and comfortable. This is not a high-class facility, but it offers comfort, cleanliness, as above all, quiet! I can highly recommend the Mayfair as excellent value for a place to stay in Victoria.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A 4-Day Weekend--Sept 27-30"

My friend and I often come down to Victoria to take various art classes offered on the island. Sylvia, the proprietor, and her staff have a nice clean room waiting for us after a long, tedious, 8 hour drive. We love that there is a fridge in our suite because we bring edibles from home instead of eating out at costly restaurants. Free parking is provided behind the motel, laundry facilities are available and Sylvia knows Victoria well enough to provide directions to landmarks. As travellers, we feel as though we are getting such great value for our travel dollars. We could not ask for more. Are experiences have been nothing less than wonderful at the Mayfair Motel and we look forward to taking more art classes and staying at the Mayfair Motel again in the summer of 2014!!
"Good for a budget hotel"

This motel is right on the Douglas street and just a 10min drive from the Inner Harbor area. They provide you full size refrigerator and microwave without any additional cost. You can get the hair dryer from the front desk. There is a kitchen available in the room well but you have to pay extra and you can use it (but kitchen is open only in winter). The room was clean but with basic furniture (+ a Sofa). I gave 3 star because there was no A/C in the room (we didn't need A/C as the weather was dull) , the free Wi-Fi wasn't working properly and the towels provided in the bath were not full size towels. If you are looking for a budget hotel just for one or two nights then this is it.

The rooms are well furnished and have almost all the appliances you would enjoy in an apartment. Bring your own dishes and silverware if you want to take advantage of these amenities! The motel is easily reached by bus and right across the street from the Mayfair shopping complex. There is a Starbucks just around the corner.

We stayed for 5 nights. Service was great & friendly. Excellent value and the full fridge was a blessing. Very clean and close to shopping with a Starbucks just next door. If you need to rely on the bus there's a stop near by and we even ended up using the laundry facilities. Looking forward to staying there again next time we come for a visit to Victoria from Kelowna.
"Cleanliness excellent but..... pity about the lack of those little extras!"

Travelling with friends from the US, we arrived on a Sunday in Victoria BC late afternoon, didn't realise it was a major bank holiday on the Monday (Victoria Day!!), so accommodation was all booked up. We drove around eventually coming across this little gem off the main road where we stayed for 2 nights - recently renovated, it was quite a find, not too expensive (~£65 per room per night). Exceptionally clean and roomy with a sitting area with sofa, TV and small table. There was also a kitchen area with large fridge freezer but this was extra cost so we didn't use it. However, my main moans were that even though we didn't want to pay extra for the kitchen, it would have been nice to have had a kettle and a couple of cups to make some coffee/tea in the morning; also there were no little extras like sachets of shampoo, body lotion, shower gel - they only provided 2 tiny bars of soap - and no hairdryer was provided. We've travelled all over the world, staying in many hotels/motels and B&Bs, and this is the first time there's been no hairdryer. I would certainly recommend this motel to anyone who doesn't want to be right in the centre of Victoria (just a short car drive away) but make sure you take those little "extras" with you - and your hairdryer!
