We have lived three years in Thailand so know the country well and this hotel is simply the best place we have been.
During the stay we had a slight electricity cut in the neighborhood and the staff did their best to reduce the inconvenience like lighting our room and common areas with dozens of candles which gave the place a very romantic atmosphere. They offered to move us to another hotel but we decided to stay as we really liked it so much. They then upgraded us to the beautiful room by the pool area which was more exposed to the night breeze and therefore more comfortable without electricity. We were alone in the resort and had it for ourselves too enjoy for example a midnight swim in the infinity pool under the stars and the crashing surf below. The breakfast were of very good quality with one of the best coffees and croissants I had in Thailand. The 180 degrees view from a hill overlooking the sea is simply stunning! Location is good as not far from the main beaches of Phuket. We would definitely recommend this place for couples on a honeymoon and wanting to be pampered like never before.

We stayed here for 5 nights as a mini holiday on our way back to Australia from a trip to the UK. It was complete perfection. The service was impeccable, Catherine and Ma who were our beautiful hostess and housekeeper couldn't have made us feel more welcome. They assisted us with everything possible - even organising a boat trip to the islands for us and giving us fantastic tourism advice. Our room was cleaned every day to the best standards, the food was exquisite and all the staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The location of the hotel was wonderful- just close enough to enjoy the wonders of Surin but far enough away to allow for some peace and relaxation. Perfect place for couples who want to get away from it all but also be able to enjoy the excitement of Phuket as well. We couldn't have asked for more at our stay at Baan Phu Prana Boutique Villa. Thank you Catherine and Ma! We will be back soon we hope!

Without a doubt coming back here!
This is an absolutely stunning boutique property. The place is nicely designed and adorned with a beautiful collection of paintings and art pieces. Rooms are tastefully furnished, well-kept, and super clean. But the best part of the villa is the rooftop pool and common area. Wow! The design and views were made for pictures! Over three days, we fell into complete relaxation as we lounged by the pool and enjoyed the peace of the area. We had lunch at the villa on the first day and decided to stick to it everyday. Kudos to the chef, Ning. She cooked us some of the best Thai flavors we've had. The manager, Mar, was lovely as well and helped us numerous times a day with a big friendly smile. Seriously, the entire villa staff - including the owner Catherine - will make every effort to cater to you and make your stay great.
The villa only has 5-6 rooms and about half were occupied while we were there. Most times, we felt like we were the only ones in the villa. As for location, the villa is an 8 minute car ride or 15 minute walk to the beach. Not far at all, but the villa is on a very steep hill that makes the walk up a HUGE workout. We did it once and didn't try again. The staff will drive you up and down whenever they can, or they'll call you a taxi that costs about 200 baht each way. Bit pricey for such a short ride, but we actually didn't venture out much. The villa had everything we needed - food, drinks, massages - at very reasonable prices.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend this villa to visitors looking to unwind and relax in peace. The villa is also great for large groups if you want to rent out all six rooms. We'll be back!
Perfectly located in Surin, beautiful homely experience and super friendly staff. This place feels like you're in your own private villa. The rooms are huge with balconies and huge bathrooms, the pool is incredible, and the staff are always happy to whizz you around in the car if you dont want to walk. Such a friendly atmosphere, such a luxury place and really reasonably priced! Will 100% be back. Thanks Catherine and team :-)
I wish I'd had more than one night to spend at this fantastic hotel - it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed at (and I spend over 100 nights a year in hotels). It is immaculately clean, the staff makes you feel like family, the food was 5* quality. The pictures do not do it justice.
While the villa in not on the beach, and is perched high up on a very, very steep hill, it is a perfect spot for a weekend of tranquility. Better yet - if you are a group of friends and can book all the rooms, you will have an incredible experience here.
The owner is an amazing woman. Her genuine care for guests was evidenced, among other things, in her concern about my late departure. While the villa was fully booked for that day, and I could not have a late check-out, she was offering me to stay in a neighboring villa as long as I needed, rather than going to a hotel by the airport that I had booked for the 8 hours before my flight.
If I am ever back in Phuket - this is the place I want to stay at!
I've stayed at Villa Baan Phu Prana on two occasions with my girlfriend and on both occasions had a fantastic time. The Villa is beautifully designed and well kept. It is perched high up on the hillside and has fantastic views of Surin and beyond, which can be experienced from both the pool area on top of the Villa and from the balconies.
The service was fantastic on both occasions. Catherine, who owns the Villa, is a lovely lady and always keen to help out with advice of where to eat and drink, which is invaluable in tourist areas such as Surin. The new beach club that Catherine has opened on Surin Beach is also a fantastic addition and enables guests to chose between staying by the pool, with the fantastic views, or lying on the beach.
Villa Baan Phu Prana might not be to everybody's taste but if you like boutique hotels and good service (rather than being stuck in large hotels) then it's a great place to stay. We will certainly be back for another visit.
We had a wonderful time at the Villa. We were made to feel immediately at home and Catherine was very open, friendly and always available to give good advice about places to go and see in the surrounding area. Our room was lovely and the bed particularly comfortable! The whole place is beautiful and the infinity pool is a good size for those who like to swim as well. We mostly ate out in the evenings but the one night we stayed in the chef made us the most fantastic dinner. The staff were kind and always extremely courteous. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to friends.
The villa Baan Phu Prana with it's manager Khun. Catherine, is one of the most beautiful and best looked after villa I've seen in Thailand. The villa invites you to stay in the very great location at Surin beach in a very private accommodation where you enjoy full 5 star service. Our room was great with a comfortable big bed, balcony with sea-view (I believe all rooms have sea-view) and very large en-suite bathroom. At top floor you can enjoy the swimming-pool with 180 degree stunning views over Surin and nearby areas. The manager also run the nice Pearl of Surin beach club from which the staff will bring you food if you want to dine on-site. Very great to to have the possibility to enjoy a full day at the property with swimming, massage, food and drinks. For us the location was perfect but for some the steep way up to the villa could be hard. However the cute staff on-site always made sure to arrange transportation as we needed. Also the view when you finally get up makes the walk well worth it every day of the week. Not far from the beach and other restaurants at Surin beach. Will definitely be back over New Year.
We stayed here in baan phu prana during our honeymoon in phuket in their junior suite room. We arrived at the airport midnight and picked up by ms. ma and greeted us courteously. When we first arrived to the villa i was surprised about the road going up to the hill because it was steep but it didn't bother me at all since im not afraid of heights. My husband booked the junior suite and i thought it was really perfect; quiet, cozy and amazing! The room was big and neat. The infinity pool was great also and the set up was perfect- very thai. Towels were everywhere and I loved it! Staff were accommodating and very helpful too esp Ms. Ma. We didn't book anything before we got there but thru the villa's manager Ms. Ma, requesting tours and transportation was a breeze and we did not have a problem at all. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay and will recommend this to friends (with the caution of heights to elders though) ;)
We were very pleased and impressed with this boutique hotel. The villa itself is interesting and beautiful, with wonderful views and the staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone, from adapting our meals to arranging taxis. We were made to feel very welcome by Catherine and all her staff. Our room was on the lower floor. It was clean and spacious with everything we needed. We had a coffee maker and full sized fridge, full sized TV and an area to sit comfortably. The air conditioning was great and worked well. Being on the lower floor our outdoor sitting area was not large with restricted views but the sunbathing and relaxing areas up on the roof terrace next to the infinity pool were spacious and luxurious with the most amazing views. The Villa is not far from the beach and the beach front bars and restaurants but the walk down the hill to the main road is very steep. We did walk it on a number of occasions, as did others but it was quite a challenge and we did not attempt to walk back up! Initially we chose to go down into Surin Beach to eat but the food at the Villa is truly wonderful! The Chef is fantastic! Also we found that just one course was more than adequate, having ordered a starter and main the first time we ate there. Each dish was an amazing meal in itself and very good value. Villa Baan Phu Prana is an amazing place to stay and we would not hesitate to return there. Incidentally they were opening a Beach Bar down on Surin Beach on the 19th December, two weeks after our stay there and if the attention to detail, service and quality is the same there as it is at the Villa (and I am sure it will be) then that will be a place well worth visiting!
