"Great location on Eixample"
Clean and nice hotel in the heart of Eixample, modern building, helpful staff at reception. Very tiny room, modest bathroom (no place to put body wash under the shower). The only minus is the noise you can hear from the corridor and other rooms. Overall a good option.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff were friendly although only one or two members of staff knew about local transport others didn't know which bus goes straight to the main shopping area and beach. Room was clean but I had to ring down every other day to remind them we needed fresh towels and replenishment on toiletries. Overall staff were polite and the location was ideal, only […] a ten-fifteen minute walk to the main shopping area, I would consider using their services again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect in every way"
11/27/13 99tigers New York City, New York
This is an easy review to do because everything & I mean everything was perfect. The room, lobby, service and location, all perfect. Close enough to Las Ramblas but not too close so as to be noisy. The rooftop pool a perfect place to relax with a drink before dinner. I'll be back.
"Location & Rooftop Pool, That's it"
11/12/13 Steven E Port Charlotte
The Hotel is fairly new, to start off there is not one Parking spot to unload luggage. The Staff is friendly & helpful, the rooms are small, ours overlooked the backyards of the working class complete with laundry strung everywhere. The TV is not cable or satelite, but streaming, ours did not work. Theb shower/tub is a death trap, you've got to suction your feet to the tub & not move a muscle for fear of fracturing your skull. The two redeeming qualities were location & rooftop pool, the rates, way too high for what we had
"Average hotel, not much to impress"
11/10/13 SDUinLondon London, United Kingdom
After an awfully confusing booking process when BOOKING.com and the hotel tried to resolve my booking my expectations were not high. I was staying in this hotel for my birthday. It was ok. My room was comfortable but not great and what should have been a good night sleep was disturbed at 8am by cleaners walking into my room. I overheard a member of staff asking people to leave the room early (10am) even though check-out is at 12noon! The hotel did not provide do not disturb signs. The doors use real keys but they also have the credit card type key system for activating the lights etc. Not ideal when you return to your room at night and it is dark! I won't stay again.
"clean and friendly hotel"

we were booked in at Sunotel Central but when we arrived they didn't have any hot water so booked us in 4 blocks away to Sunotel Club Central, whilst a little further away from Las Ramblas than the other hotel we were pleasantly surprised, the room was immaculate and spacious we stayed in 403 our window was overlooking some gardens and backs of apartments but far enough away so not intrusive. The bathroom was a good size with complimentary shampoo and shower gel, the rooftop pool and Jacuzzi were spotless with comfortable seating around the pool with lovely fluffy complementary towels, the views from the top of the hotel were amazing. The room was cleaned every day so lovely to come back to each evening. The reception staff were polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. rooms have aircon and safe at no extra charge, minibar needs paying for and city tax approx. 1euro a night. There are some quirky bars and restaurants around the hotel, 5 minutes walk from Universtat station, 20 minutes walk to Las Ramblas and 40 mins walk to Sagrada Familia ......comfortable shoes recommended! Would definitely stay here again.
"stayed here start of October"

stayed here recently and had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. The hotel is in a good location it is 5 min walk from Passeig de Gracia where you can get on the open bus tour, La Rambala was about a 10/15 min walk. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly, hotel is basic but sure you don't spend that much time in your room as there are so many things to do in Barcelona. Roof top terrace was really nice, rooms were cleaned every day, we had breakfast and it was a standard continental breakfast with something for everyone. I don't think the hotel is 4 star would definitely be a good 3 star
"Depressing Hotel, max a two star"
10/02/13 Tomberra Hong Kong
Depressing Hotel, max a two star - We where early and were not allowed to have an early check in. - We left our luggage behind the reception and got no receipt. When we were to check in in the afternoon they had no knowledge of our luggage. - We checked in and got room 602 a very awkward dark corner room with dirty bedcovers and dirty floor. - We moved to 507 a better lighter room as the window was placed in the middle of the outside wall. The housekeeping forgot to close the window properly twice during our stay! The hotel is supposed to be a new hotel!! We doubt. Who classifies this property as a 4 star hotel? The owners? What is wrong with this hotel? - Not knowledgeable staff. E.g. we asked what the starting meter tariff was for Barcelona taxis and got the answer that "I do not know as I never take a taxi"! - Security: the fire stair doors are open all the time also the one to the street beside the main entrance. The reception were informed and we were meet with a smirk. They had no idea of the backdoor and there is no camera available according to them. Third time this was pointed out, the reception said that that open doorways were not for the "clients". We asked if the possible burgles were "clients"! - The internet keeps jumping off and on with bad or no internet access. -They have an old fashioned room key with the room no. on it. We guess that your suppose to leave the key at the reception when you go out in the city. - The insulation between rooms is not there and it is disturbing when others come and go during the night. -The corridors sounds are also disturbing. The room we had: - The double bed was too small and short. Uncomfortable. - There are not enough with pillows. Low quality pillows. Why not buy good ones at IKEA? - The wall coloring in the room is too dark. Even with the lights on a it is depressing. -Too few power sockets. - TV is a disaster for international travelers as no English news channels and no list of available channels in the room. There are continuously advertisement flashes on ongoing programs. - The are no floor protectors on the chair's legs and moving the chairs makes noisy both when you move it in your room and others in their rooms. - No paper and pen in the room. The bathroom: - The water tap in the bathtub was attached. Warm is cold and cold is warm. - The wash basin was mounted too high. - The water pressure very low. - Few amenities. - Why have ashtrays in the rooms in a non smoking hotel? We asked the reception and the answer given was to throw paper in! We thought you used waste paper baskets for that. - There is no coffee maker in the room. We did not have breakfast but took a look at it and went outside to have a local lower cost breakfast. Any positive points? For us the location was good but so depressing going back to this hotel. However it is far away from the Airport bus terminal. The taxi fare to the airport was EUR 23.80 including the extra fee of 4.20. Starting fee at 4:30 PM was EUR 2.05. We will not be back. Try to find another hotel.");

We were part of a tour group that stayed here. The first room they gave us was small and looked at the interior of an ugly atrium. We switched rooms because they had given us 1 bed and we were supposed to have 2. They switched us to a much bigger room with an outside window, Beds were pushed together, which was fine with us. Room was quiet, breakfast had eggs, frittatas, and a lot of pastries, fruit, etc. Location was about 5 minutes from the hospital clinic metro. It was along walk to the beginning of the Rambla. Would stay here again.
"Clean but beware certain rooms"
09/24/13 Martin W
This hotel is quite new and is clean and tidy, as you would expect for it's age. The reception staff were helpful and all spoke English to differing degrees, although I'm lucky in that my partner speaks Spanish :) We arrived very early for check in (our check in was 2pm but we arrived from our flight at 10am). The room wasn't ready and they said it might be done by 1.30. We came back at 1.30, asked at 1.50 and the room wasn't ready. Dead on 2 it was ready. I'm not sure somebody was in our room cleaning til 1.59, but it's a minor gripe as check in is at 2 after all. The rooftop pool is a great bonus and offers a nice place to relax. Don't expect to do lengths though, it's just for dipping in and cooling off. The downside of the rooftop pool..... ....from roof to floor there is a 'tunnel', for want of a better word. A space in the middle of the building to provide light to the inner rooms of the hotel. So some rooms look out into this gap, into other windows a few metres opposite. The problem is this: the rooftop pool is supposed to shut at 8pm. Every night of our stay ranging from anywhere between 9pm and 3am, there were groups of people on the roof shouting, singing, drinking and using the jacuzzi. All of the noise from these carries straight down that tunnel. We were 4 floors below and it was anger inducing. The pillow was one of the ones that mould to your head, which I love, so that helped get some sleep. The room was cleaned every day and new towels supplied. We didn't have the breakfast in the hotel as it was around 15Euros per head. The location was fine for us as we don't mind walking but it's about 15 minutes away from the top of la Rambla, 20 mins from la Sagrada Familia and perhaps an hour from Parc Guell. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes near the hotel so you never need to go far if you get thirsty or hungry. On check out we were charged 2Euros a day for 'city tax', so make sure you have a few coins left at the end of your stay!
New-brand hotel. Location is good, a lot of restaurants around. Placa Catalunia is 15 mins walking. Price for the hotel is worth and cheap. Staff is friendly. 25 mins by taxi to the airport. And the best thing is - its 2 organic supermarkets by the hotel! Awesome!
"good location, good price"
09/03/13 BusinesstravellerS52 malaga
The hotel location is excellent and you could walk easily throughout the center. It is a brand new hotel so everything looks good but the quality of the endings in the construction are not really good, so I guess it is a question of time that they will get deteriorated. Our room was in the 6th floor at the end of the corridor (607) and as it was in the opposite side of the main street it was really quite, however the noise of the other guests in the corridor sometimes was little bit annoying. The summing pool was really good although we did not have the opportunity to enjoy it. The reception staff and the cleaning staff were really friendly. However in two occasions they got into the room when we were inside even after the cleaned the room. We commented with the receptionist but they just apologized. Definitely I will be back to the hotel.
