"Highly recommend 5* b&b in our opinion."
Excellent stay in a gorgeous room with a lovely en-suite. The staff were very welcoming and very happy to accommodate in anyway possible. Breakfast was very nice with a good variety. Approx 8min walk to local pub with a quiz night on fridays and pub food served from 6pm-9pm. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway, highly rated.

"Wonderful accommodation in a wonderful location"
Capple Bank Farm is in a lovely setting surrounded by rolling countryside and the owners own immaculate gardens. We received a very friendly welcome from the owners with tea and cake in the drawing room on arrival. We stayed in the barn which was a beautifully renovated room with modern facilities and was spotlessly clean. We ate at two local restaurants in the evenings, The Wensleydale Heifer, which was within walking distance, and The Forester's Arms which was a 5 minute drive away. The food was fantastic in both places as was the service and the very friendly staff. We stayed B&B at the farm and the breakfasts prepared for us both mornings were delicious. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay here and will look forward to returning at a future date.

"Great for Leisure not so great for business user"
First of all don't follow Sat Nav to arrive, it will take you far away. If you have to follow, follow The Old Vicarage, Main St, West Witton, Leyburn, Yorkshire DL8 4LX and take next left. Breakfast was good, even was given tea in the evenings. The owner was very helpful. She even wrote down and explained me how to get to the site where I had to go on day 1. Views around are just awesome. Overall very relaxed stay. Only things that I find a bit negative was, no wifi in the rooms but I've been told that its due the weaker service available in the area and closest eating area was around 4 miles away in Leyburn.

"Un agradable alojamiento para unas vacaciones"
Un alojamiento muy agradable en un emplazamiento tranquilo a las afueras West Witton. Muy recomendable para un viaje de relax. Se necesita coche para llegar y desplazarse por la zona.

"A beautiful place to stay"
07/19/15 Bobbieee Nottingham, United Kingdom
We arrived at Capple Bank Farm slightly earlier than check in, however this was no problem; we were shown to our room (The upper barn room) which was lovely, beautifully spacious and en-suite. We were then taken down for tea and cake in the communal lounge. The breakfast was bliss; continental and full english was provided, filter coffee/tea on demand. The 4 dogs are well trained and no bother. The cleanliness of the room was good, no issues there (the odd cobweb never hurt anyone). The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable, slept like a baby. There was a kettle within the room as well as milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, chamomile tea etc therefore available, whenever we wanted it. The shower was good, no temperature fluctuation. The scenery and location was breath-taking. However wouldn't recommend it for people without a car/method of transport, as the whole location is very remote. Couldn't have asked for better hosts, Julian and Marfa were lovely, would happily stay again.

This is the loveliest of BB's. A gorgeous location and charming hosts. Huge bedrooms, a substantial breakfast and a lovely drawing room to relax in. I cannot recommend this BB enough. If you like quality AND quirky and hosts who do their utmost to make your stay as comfortable as possible then do not hesitate to visit. You will not be disappointed.

"Tranquility and lovely people"
05/09/15 Northumberland_Jules Northumberland,
As the previous reviews( with the exception of one) and more! We have had 2 wonderful days at Capplebank with the hosts Marfa and Julian who I have to say are the loveliest people you could wish to meet...nothing is a trouble. Not forgetting the very friendly spaniels which greet you on every possible occasion yet so well behaved you don't know they are there at times..The bed we had was so comfortable getting up was an effort...but up you must to go for breakfast... Which is delicious and sets you up for the day! beautifly cooked and their own eggs to boot!....Homemade marmalade....leave room for it on toast! This is a fantastic BnB where you feel welcome from the first instance. We will return but next time, work permitting, will be for a longer than 2 days Thank you Marfa and Julian for a wonderful stay.

Very warm and welcoming hosts who provided us with a very comfortable stay. Excellent breakfasts with a large menu choice in their beautiful dining room. Clean and well laid out bedroom with characterful bathroom. You have the use of a private sitting room for guests which is spacious and comfortable. Very tranquil with beautiful surroundings. Wonderful restaurants/pubs in the vicinity.

"Not for everyone... Standards may have fallen"

Well Il begin with our arrival, it was freezing cold and we were left outside for while but to be honest it seemed they were not organized more than anything so we were shown to the room and credit it where its due the barn room is beautiful.. Bed amazing!!! Bathroom lovely but not great on cleanliness... Fine if you don't mind the odd hair or dead flies.. The next morning we went to breakfast and the lady of the house was very insistent on checking our room the excuse being to change our cups even though we said no thank you..but she came back two minutes later and in the middle of breakfast had a big go at us (after seeing electronic cigarette in room ) she said arms open wide there was no smoking what so ever anywhere on her property... We were so put off we left most of our food .... At no part of our visit were we told any smoking was band until that point. My birthday was some what spoilt. about an hour later they came to our room walked in no knocking again to change cups which made me feel violated as in bed. overall id say we were extremely unwelcome. if you are over 50 and very conservative this is a lovely retreat ... Under and id advise you avoid like the plague!!! Judging by the comments before now it could be she is tired and stressed as we expected such warm people and environment. Beautiful location... I liked the dogs.

"B&B with luxury feel"
10/29/14 Cameron W Yorkshire, United Kingdom
We booked this for a two night honeymoon break and absolutely loved the place. The property has been extensively renovated and brought right up to date but retained the feel of a high class country home. The owners are a lovely couple, very engaging and give us such a warm welcome; we were greeted with champagne and congratulations on arrival which we considered to be a very thoughtful gesture. Make no mistake about it, this is the owners' home but you do not feel like you are invading their space or they yours. It's a big house with plenty of room. Our bedroom was fabulous, being situated on the top floor of the converted barn with a huge bed. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the property. The furnishings are high standard, not the run of the mill stuff you'd normally find in a B&B. Breakfast was fabulous. The location is well away from the main road through the village so is blissfully quiet. The views across the Dale are stunning. Overall, this booking exceeded our expectations on every count.

"A perfect weekend break"

We think this rates as probably one of the best B and Bs we have ever stayed in. It is conveniently close to West Witton (convenient for the Heifer!) but in a peaceful location, up the hillside, overlooking fields and dales. The peace and quiet was just what we needed. The farmhouse is beautiful, clean and spacious. Full of character. Our room was large, comfortable, clean and had everything we needed, including a fabulous ensuite shower and bathroom. Our host, Mafra, was charming and produces delicious breakfasts. We were happy to go back there after long walks in the dales. Saturday evening, we walked down to the Heifer in the moonlight. We thought it was the perfect weekend break for us city folk.

"Perfect retreat"

We spent five relaxing nights at this first class b&b. Stunning location set in outstanding dales scenery. Five star accommodation ensured our absolute comfort. The bed was huge and so comfortable, it was only the thought of a good breakfast that dragged us from it. There are plenty of excellent places to eat in the vicinity which had come highly recommended by our hosts. Hope we will soon have another opportunity to experience this perfect retreat. Other nice touches, fresh milk for teas and coffees in our room and a beautiful posy of sweet peas from the garden to welcome us.
