Everything about our stay at the Wine Country Inn was excellent. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area, the local wineries, and the wines themselves. Despite having suffered through an earthquake a few hours before we arrived, they handled our visit without missing a beat. The room was private and comfortable. The grounds […] were perfectly tended. The location was ideal as a jumping-off point for other activities in the vicinity. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Terrific staff. Decent accommodations."
Every single person who works at the Wine Country Inn was terrific. Our room, in the main building was nice enough although the "pot-belly" stove and the brick surround in the corner of the room were tacky. Also, we could hear the people in the room above us walking around. Continental breakfast was fine although pretty much the same every morning. […] While a mile or more out of St. Helena, they provide complimentary van service to St. Helena--a very nice touch. If we return, we would likely try one of the cottages. "Everything but a TV"
Loved this place. But since we were there the night of the earthquake and the hotel does not have tv's, we had no way other than ipads to get news. Wish they had TV's. You don't have to watch them, but to us it is relaxing to watch tv. It's really a dealbreaker for us for more than 2 days to not have a tv. Otherwise the hotel is wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Relax in luxury"
The price was quite high, but this is a busy season. No one helped to bring our luggage to our room, even when requested. Our room was down 5 sets of stairs. We first visited 35 years ago - the decor has not changed at all. Nothing has been updated. There is no docking for any cell phone - there is no desk area for work space - the plugs are not near […] anything - the beds are so high that one (1) plastic step stool is provided, for 1 person. There is no "turn-down" evening service. The same breakfast is served every day = make your own waffles. There are screens on some of the windows, but not all, so those windows can not be opened at night, due to bugs. No one came to help with departure luggage assistance. A request for early towel change, was ignored - we were told to reuse all towels like everyone else. I would not give 1 star to this place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
First time at this inn and I was pleasantly surprised. The grounds were beautiful and surrounding areas were vineyards. Although there was a house being built next to the inn, the workers didn't start working til 8. We didn't use any services so I left at 1star. Breakfast was yummy. they served what was in season and afternoon wine and cheese was excellent […] with local small winery serving and showing casing their wines. "perfect Napa wine country location"
Our visit could not have been more pleasurable--minutes from Napa, Yountville, Oakville, Calistoga; delicious breakfasts; van service to area restaurants; helpful and friendly staff; clean, attractive rooms; truly lovely gardens.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"super courteous service"
It is certainly not a modern hotel and there is no TV. These things are a blessing here because it was very peaceful and the grounds were a beautiful garden. It helped that in spring everything was blooming. Quiet, HUGE Jacuzzi tub, comfortable in every respect. Balcony was clean and private, perfect for late balmy nights.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was beautiful. Great views deep in the heart of wine country. A super breakfast .A very comfortable bed and hot tub. The staff was so friendly and inviting. I would say a wonderful place.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Location! Clean! Amazing amenities!"
You will not find a finer place to stay in wine country than here. It is by far the cleanest place I've ever stayed and I only stay at 5 star. At first I was upset because there was carpet in the rooms but it was perfectly clean and served as a the perfect sound barrier. The afternoon complementary tastings (wine & delicious healthy apps) were amazing..the […] food was truly superior; they have a full kitchen staff at all times. I am a clean freak and I can assure you that you will find no cleaner place than this and no better location than this. The best part for us was their "Winery PASSPORT" which truly -- recommended the finest wineries in the valley. We are new club members in over half of their recs. And they were complimentary tastings on their "passport." I promise you will get no better deal than this anywhere. I can assure you that I will never stay anywhere other than this when I return in the fall!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"OK but not Ideal"
We choose this location primarily because our normal go-to hotel (Harvest Inn) wasn't readily available. On paper it sounded similar but our stay wasn't. Part of the issue may have been the room selection. My wife was still smoking at the time, so we selected a room with a patio that was in the main building. There was limited access with flights of […] stairs or a path through the plantings outside. The room was smaller; lacked a refrigerator/microwave; had no TV; and the bath room was small and cramped. The bed was too soft. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and we weren't able to sample the breakfast or evening wine tasting. The location might be fine for others, but we won't be returning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place in the heart of wine country."
Everything was top notch. Staff very pleasant and accomodating. Breakfast was awesome. Wines were excellant. Scenery was breathtaking!Genuine Expedia guest review
This place really let me down. I booked the Wine Country Inn based off it being advertised as a 'Romantic Getaway', and as being a quiet couples retreat. Unfortunately the room next to us was a family with a small child. We heard constant crying, and parents yelling at their child from our room. It was also odd during the evening wine tasting & appetizers […] in the lobby, to have a small child watch a bunch of adults sip wine. In my opinion the Hotel should have a no children policy. There isn't even T.V's in the rooms to keep them occupied. This was NOT the romantic getaway my wife and I were looking for. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean but dated. One small window over looking parking lot. Not at all a feeling of being in wine country. Very over priced for the quality.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent wine country Inn"
other than a bed that was way too soft, we really enjoyed our stay and the way this staff operates this inn. A terrific setting surrounded by Vineyards just a few minutes from St. Helena get you immersed in the spirit of Napa wine country. "An AMAZING Jewel in Napa Valley"
From the minute you check in to your check out this B&B offers everything you could ever want for a romantic stay in the beautiful wine country. The rooms are charming and very comfortable with unique decor that makes you feel like your at your own home. The breakfast each morning is to die for!! Do not confuse this with the typical "continental breakfast" […] touted at most hotels. This is a full on gormet meal with hot items, fresh fruit and vegtables from their own garden. From the staff always being there for your every need, knowing you by name, and the location in the heart of wine country, we will not stay anywhere else when we visit! "Perfect...except for WiFi problem"
Absolutely loved this hotel...except for the WiFi issue. We were first told that the WiFi would not work in our room, so we had to use it in the common area....but even there it was sporadic. "Poor value for money..."
The property is the star here- the rooms and the grounds are very nice. But for me, it is an extremely expensive B&B, and really needs to do more to provide value for money. Breakfasts provided could be great - but instead were just OK. Again, for the rates charged, it would have been nice to have glasses vs plastic cupsfor juice, and something better […] than make them yourself waffles. No real mini bar in rooms, and you get soft drinks by coming nto the main building and taking from an honor bar. Lovely crockery and cups, but nothing to cook anything on, and no room service to order off. No lunches or dinners are served - probably understandably, given the number of great local restaurants. But to have NO capability to offer any food, even light snacks, when the nearest town is a drive away, seems to me to be missing much needed service, especially if, like us, you flew a long distance, and are a bit jetlagged. The rooms do not have safes, or very much security, and the hotel reception is unmanned between 10pm- 7 am... A little unnerving if you are a solo woman traveller, although I am sure its not a crime hotspot. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We had a great time from the moment we arrived until we left. Great staff.Beautiful gardens overlooking the vineyard filled with hummingbirds, quail and gorgeous butterflies. "Charming, welcoming and homely"
One of the most charming and homely places I’ve ever stayed. The staff are all incredibly warm and helpful. We had one of the smallest rooms but it was still spacious and comfortable. The wine tasting from 4.30pm til 6pm was great and the accompanying appetisers were delicious. Chef Ryan is a talented guy and the breakfast was also fabulous, with dishes […] such as Denver casserole and homemade zucchini muffins. There is a “designated driver service” which provides a free shuttle to nearby restaurants in the evening. Highly recommended. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Mycket trevlig frukost. Liten pool men fin. Jättebra med shuttle/taxi service på kvällen när vi skulle ut och äta, ingen behövde köra. Great property with an excellent location! Cannot beat it! Our room (#15) was rather small and could use a dresser in the bed room and more space in the bathroom for storing travel items. Other than that we had a great time and enjoyed the shuttle in the evening to go to different resturants (our driver Janelle, was great and always on time in picking us up and dropping us off, not to mention she had a "can do" attitude!). The morning breakfasts were great with lots of choices. The pool area was very clean and refreshing, especially after a long day of traveling to the different wineries in the heat (mid-90's). This was our first time and will not be our last! Thank you for having us and we look forward to coming back again soon!

Absolutely loved our stay at the Wine Country Inn. Set amongst the vineyards of napa valley the location and view are outstanding. Loved the little town of St Helena - great restaurants and boutique shopping. Would thoroughly recommend. Very homely. Good quality breakfasts that can be enjoyed on the outdoors terrace overlooking the vineyards. Lots of great local vineyards to visit - would recommend Lava vineyards for a unique and entertaining experience

We were just at the Wine a Country Inn for the 8th time. It is our favorite spot for beautiful surroundings, wonderful people and an overall 5-Star experience. The staff is friendly and 'guest oriented' and the Inn is exquisite. Such a peaceful place, well maintained and totally worth your time. We have never been disappointed at the Wine Country Inn.
"Romance and peace in Napa"

Peace and quiet everywhere! The sprawling inn is off the main road and its property overlooks a vineyard. The grounds are full of multi-colored and varied types of plants, flowers, bushes and trees. They even have hummingbirds! The large outdoor pool and jacuzzi bask in the afternoon sun and are very private. Breakfast is delicious and you can make your own Belgian waffles! The rooms are all romantic and serene ( NO tvs, car or airplane noise, but a sound machine is there anyway). Afternoon apps and wine tasting are a special treat. The van service for dinner is what we love the best!

It was excellent to stay at The Wine Country Inn! As the second time, we knew how to enjoy the time in Napa and at Wine Country Inn, so we could have wonderful food & wine experiences. As someone may mention already, this is not a luxury/modern hotel, therefore the persons who want to stay at the large hotel chains like atmosphere, I would not recommend. The persons who love nature, wine, people and simple facilities, please choose "The Wine Country Inn" !! My husband and I fully enjoyed! We will come back again!!! (^^)

I stayed here with my boyfriend and we had the most amazing experience. The entire staff was so nice and the accommodations (from pre-dinner wine and cheese to the free shuttle service to dinner) were better than we could ever expect. Aside from the phenomenal service, the room we stayed in was cozy and romantic (including a fireplace), but also spacious as well. Above everything else though, I would have to say my favorite part of my stay here was the location and setting--close to the vineyards and the town of St. Helena, but quietly tucked away amazing views and pool area. The only downfall of this hotel was the cost--as we would've definitely stayed longer had it been less expensive. That said, it was two best days of our week-long California trip and we will definitely be back.

We stayed at the Wine Country Inn on the recommendation of our wine loving friends and we were so happy to have stayed there! The service was so friendly and accommodating. Our room was just perfect! We had a view of the winery behind the Inn and the mountains. We decided to take the wine tour from the Inn, but we're told it was sold out for the day we needed. We were placed on a wait list, but the helpful person at the front desk was also going to email another tour person to see if they could accommodate us. As it turned out, we were able to take the Inn tour. It was just so much fun! They took us to smaller wineries that we probably would never have gone to on our own. They were all so beautiful and we had a blast! We met some very nice people at the Inn. The breakfast was very nice, but the appetizers in the afternoon were so delicious! And the wine tasting was good as well. We cannot wait to go back!

We frequent the Wine Country Inn every year for our anniversary in August. The weather is warm and you can enjoy the pool after wine tasting. The Inn has a fabulous breakfast every morning and you can bring back to your room or eat in the dining room. Every evening you can enjoy wine tasting in the dining room as well. The staff if very accommodating and friendly. The shuttle to the restaurants at night is a huge plus. The Wine Excursion during the day is fantastic. The one down side is the construction that is going on by the pool. No one notified us that it was going on or that it was so close to the pool and made sitting at the pool not so relaxing.
09/10/14 SVJanner Sun Valley, Idaho
Charming Inn, attentive staff, excellent food and they made you feel as if you were truely a houseguest not a customer! Great location and yes there is construction next to the pool, but it is almost enclosed and ready for interior work - plus you go to Napa for the wine, not sitting at the pool all day! Many thanks to the staff who when my husband left his briefcase in the lobby saw to it that it was safe in the office and then Fed-Exed it back to us. Looking forward to coming back next fall.

Great stay during our honeymoon:) the inn is wonderful with a great being at home feel ... The only negatives to mention are that the pool is located just side by side a new construction house which makes sitting by the pool unpleasant . And the inn is quite pricey but I must admit worth it .... All in all great stay they really pay attention to detail before and during your stay .
