"Nice resort with many amenities"
Nice resort with many amenities like in the title. Staff are all very nice. I stayed in a suite and it was really large with up-to-date facilities. However, the windows were old (hard to open/close) and dirty. Also the bathroom stank the whole time I was there. I asked for extra blankets for the night and I received it right away. However, they had stains and were definitely not new/clean.

"Requires more attention to details....."
The complex is very nice, however, The Britteridge unit where we stayed is in need of normal routine maintenance. The paint outside of the bldg is peeling, the light at the top of narrow stairs leading down to our unit was out (other units appeared to have stairway lit) which was dangerous at night, the a/c in the bedroom was missing its filter insert and was loud and made popping noises all night, did not cool the room very well and combined with the horrible mattress, not very conducive to a good night's sleep. The sliding glass door leading out to the balcony did not lock. We liked the location, the golf course and the beach (which we could only use b/c we went after Labor Day) but it seemed to be hit or miss as to whether chairs and towels would be available on a given day. Our stay was after Labor Day so the rates were significantly reduced. Had we paid the in season rate which is quite pricey for the quality of the accommodations, I would have been very upset and disappointed. Not quite sure what the $25+ tax per day resort fee is for; seems a bit much. Not a bad place; could be much nicer with more attention to detail and upkeep......

"Very Nice Stay with some Recommendations"
The location, Hotel, restaurants, and beach were great. The suite was generally very nice , but needed more attention to details like broken bedroom closet door and AC that did not drain water efficiently. Would still recommend staying. One disappointment was we specifically requested the Arbor village to use the beautiful Arbor Pool, which closed down after Labor Day.

"Spotty wifi and mediocre beach"
We came with another couple and couldn't contact each other by cell phone because of the spotty almost useless wi fi connection. Making dinner reservations was difficult too. The beach was small and the water was full of muck and seaweed. There were only a few kitchen pots, pans and utensils - it was like going camping when it came to cooking.

"Cape Cod with noisy AC"
This is a good place to stay when the prices come down even though the bed in the one bedroom units is a double and the mattress is terrible. The air conditioners and fans are extremely loud and probably need replacement even though they control the heat and humidity. Between the clunking AC and the horrible mattress, sleep was difficult. Maid service is very good daily.

"Not worth the price"
We chose this hotel because the pictures made it look pretty amazing but it seems as if you're paying for everything outside of the room. The bed was very stiff, the bathroom floors were slightly moldy in the corners, and the couches had seen better days. Unfortunately this was our first time staying in Cape Cod so I can't compare this to other places in the area. It did come with amenities like a kitchen, porch, and laundry facilities inside the room. It also offers things on site like a shuttle (beneficial), a couple different indoor and outdoor pools, and some restaurants. Other things you have to pay to do on site like play tennis, basketball, or use the fitness room whereas most of the time these options are free at hotels.

"Trip to the cape"
LOVED the full apartment feel-- especially having private laundry in apt with complimentary laundry soap. So nice when you are traveling and doing outdoor activities or if traveling with kids!!! Location was fine. Very quiet. Grateful for the bike rentals. Enjoyed that. Negatives? Our apartment needed a lot of TLC. It was very worn, stained, old saggy furniture. It reminded me of a dudes college apartment. Staff was wonderful , kind , generous and helpful. However, they could use more training on the area -- ex. Where to eat, recommendations.

"Stay Someplace Else"
We had stayed here years ago and used the private beach daily. The beach is lovely and the beach staffers were nice. Now if you stay in the Villages you are not allowed on the private beach and must pay an additional fifty dollars to use the public beaches nearby off the resort. We could not believe it.The receptionist rudely said "Well if this will ruin your stay here I CAN give you passes to the beach on the resort." We felt really uncomfortable due to her tone of voice. The unit we stayed in had mildew in the bathroom and a spider web in the corner of the floor so it is anybody's guess on when that floor was cleaned? My daughter's blanket had black hairs in it-GROSS! We had to call for them to clean our unit the next day. The view from the Terrace restaurant is lovely but be careful you are not reprimanded for sitting at a table with a drink at two thirty in the afternoon even though ten tables are vacant....Yikes. Thankfully the hostess overheard the other hostess "talk " to us and said not to worry we could sit where we wanted to. Again an uncomfortable moment. We felt very unwelcome. What a shame as the grounds are lovely. We tried the Pub restaurant and were served rock hard bread and pizza that did not taste like pizza. We ate off site afterwards. We are never going back to Ocean Edge.

"still nice after all these years"
we've stayed at this property 10 times in the last 20 years. In the early years it was evident the attention to detail. Still nice and still would recommend, but the attention to detail has slipped. Uncomfortable bed/mattress. Bathroom ceiling had leaking marks, toilet was ill fitting and "clanked" upon sitting. bathroom door was ill fitting and stuck with each use. No regular coffee, just decaf. no extra toilet paper.

Room was old, smelly, grungy. Complex was massive outside of the mansion - easy to get lost and tons of people - not intimate. For the price, the room quality was poor. I made my toddler wear shoes at all times and didn't let her touch anything before I disenfected. Bummer!

"Perfect place to stay in Cape Cod"
Brewster is the perfect place to stay to visit Cape Cod. It is small, quite, and has good restaurants, yet it is close to many area attractions. We've stayed at both the mansion and villages at ocean's edge. Overall, we are very pleased and will likely stay there again. However, two warnings bout the villages. 1) Expedia and Ocean's edge websites make it sound like you have access to ocean's edge's private beach when you stay at the villages. That is not accurate. You have to take a shuttle or buy a car sticker for the public beach if you stay at the villages. 2) the beds at the villages, at least in our room, are terrible. They are warn out and needed replaced years ago.

If your not at the mansion side you have no access to the resorts beach. They have a shuttle that takes guest to the local beach n picks you up after 4hrs. I wouldn't drive over bc the parking is limited n you need a beach state pass or sticker to park. You can pick one up at reception. make reservation for tterrace restaurant.

"The Villages at Ocean Edge"
The complex has a bike bath entrance right on the premises for easy access. They also provided a shuttle to a local beach, the Mansion at Ocean Edge, where we had a beautiful dinner overlooking the ocean, as well as shuttle service on the complex. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The pool was a bit crowded with families which was fine…I would definitely recommend for family get aways as the accommodations are great and they are like condos to host from two to several people depending on the size you choose. It is a bit pricey however for the quality of the vacation I would do it again. Highly recommend!

"Disappointing Stay at the Villages"
I was looking forward to this stay as a seemingly well-kept resort. However, upon arriving, the disappointments kept piling up. First, the sofa bed was the worst I've ever felt. Practically nothing there but coils digging into your back. Then we found out that the pool was located A MILE from our villa, and that it closed at 8pm! So much for using the jacuzzi after dinner. Also, the villages were a couple miles from the beach-- certainly not at "ocean's edge," as they are marketed. The housecleaners did not seem to pay much attention to detail, because when we arrived, there was a dirty towel from the previous guest hung up in our bathroom, and when we put in a request for an extra pillow, it was never delivered. The quality of the room was also pretty disappointing. The mattress felt like it was from the early 90's, as did every other item of furniture in the room. In the kitchen, there were no dish towels, paper towels, coffee filters, or any of the basic necessities you are normally provided. The one positive for our stay were that our room was located right next to a pond, so it was quiet and had a decent view. However, that's pretty much the only good thing I have to say about our visit to the Villages at Ocean's Edge. For $330 a night, go stay in a beautiful bed and breakfast on the Cape instead.

Ocean Edge has beautiful grounds and several pools for the choosing. It was nice to be able to rent kayaks and bicycles right on the property. We didn't eat at affiliated restaurants because the menus seemed limited to us. Drinks at the pool were $12.00. The accommodations were nice-the bed was fairly comfortable, the couch a bit old. The wall ac was LOUD, but worked well. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.

"Great for golf and pool but lacking Cap Cod feel"
If you like a gated, golf community with fantastic looking pools this is your place. We were looking for something with more of a Cap Cod, seaside feel so a bit disappointed but our fault as we waited to book in the area and this was only real option left. No water views here but drive to beaches not far. Rooms a bit dated but spacious. We liked the kitchen. Nearby area attractive with much to offer.

"Great Hotel but has drawbacks"
Resort was very clean ,well kept and had lots of amenities. The front desk staff was great but our room was never cleaned, no new towels left or any other necessities that we ran low on. This is after I had spoken to the cleaning staff outside our room and requested that it be cleaned! I had to contact the front desk to get housekeeping to delivery anything. Somehow there was poor communication and oversight between the front desk and the housekeeping staff. Also, I can't see paying $25 a day in resort fees (plus taxes). You have to pay for golf, bikes etc. and you can't even use the beach where the Mansion is. There is a shuttle to local beaches which comes infrequently. So plan on staying at the beach once you get there. If you like to walk, run ,bike and stay in a quiet atmosphere this resort is for you. It is away from the rest of the hustle and bustle of the cape on RT28. Also,I hope you don't want Dunkin Donuts coffee. There are only a few within a 5 mile radius. When I got to the closest one there were 40 people waiting in line. There are a few other small restaurants with good food but they were all mobed!

"Perfect family vacation"
We love Ocean's Edge. This is our second stay at the resort (first one in the summer) and it was great from start to finish. The check in process was seamless. Our room was ready when they said it would be. We got upgraded to the mansion and the room was very spacious and clean. The beach is peaceful, the Arbor Pool was perfect for the kids (and with a toddler pool, perfect for our little one.) The staff is friendly, the food is good. The only negative is that the fitness center has some AC issues. Perhaps because its located next to the indoor pool - but it gets very humid in there. Not a deal breaker, just a small issue.

"villages"
this is a golf resort, we had never been to cape cod so were unaware what to book. we chose this because it had the apartment feel, and with two little kids, we needed more than just a small hotel room for a few days so they had room to move around. the grounds were great, had several pools, a pond for some activities, nice playground for the kids as well as a few restaurants between the villages grounds & the mansion grounds. there is a private beach for the resort but only if you stay on the mansion side, which at $400 a night in the villages is a little annoying that you don't have access to it. the room was great, but keep your shoes on, i told them while we were there that just walking around the room after a shower were making our feet black as if you were walking around in the dirt outside. the location is good but you have to drive to everything to get around cape cod, which seems like a theme common to all of the area, not just this resort.

"Excellent staff, friendly and helpful.Clean rooms."
Stayed for two nights in a one bedroom condo which was clean and well-equipped. During our stay on Saturday evening mistakenly pushed a wrong button on the TV remote and lost connection. Called maintenance and they quickly responded and restored the lost connection, excellent service for a Saturday night. Prior to arrival called Pro shop to determine if we could get a tee time. Pro shop explained that the three-day member guest tournament was being conducted and the first tee time available was at 4 PM on Saturday. I appreciated the honesty. The small kitchenette in the condo was well-equipped and very helpful, particularly the refrigerator. 4 cup coffee maker worked well and coffee package was provided.

Our stay was fine. Charged extra to use wifi and amenities. We were told at check in that had use of 5 different pools but when we went to one of them were told we had to be members. ?? We had a wonderful stay at The Villages at Ocean Edge. The villa was super comfortable and quiet. The location was extremely close to everything. The only issue we had was with the Bay Pines Har-Tru Courts. Reservations were made weeks in advance. We stopped by the day before our court reservation, to confirm and check out the facility and somehow the one hour reservation was changed to a 1/2 hour due to a member needing the time slot? We were never told of this. They ended up cancelling our time. Thank goodness we visited ahead of time or we would have shown up the next morning and been disappointed. We ended up playing the next two days at the Fletcher Plexipave Courts. The Fletcher employees were extremely helpful and the courts were well maintained.

We stayed at the Arbor which was a little dated. The room was in need of some painting. I was disappointed that we were not able to use the beach at the Mansion. I mistakenly thought that was the beach we had access to. We paid $25.00 a day fee (not sure for what). We did not use the pool and beach shuttle was only twice a day to a beach nearby. "Not for handicapped?"
if one is handicaped this is not an ideal place. The shower is a tub-shower with nothing to grab onto in order to get into or out of the shower. This made it dangerous for us. The toilet was low and again nothing to grab onto to get up off of the toilet seat. Since the vast majority of summer employees were foreign students they didn't necessarily understand what you were ordering. For example, if you ordered eggs over easy, yes you did get eggs but certainly not over easy. In addition they didn't seem to understand that one needed dinnerware and napkins in order to eat. They brought the food but you had to ask for the rest. Having said this, this would be a great place for young families. There are plenty of activities with lots to do.

"Fell in love!"
We can not say enough good things about this resort! My husband and I booked the villages online for our 'winging it' honeymoon, not exactly sure what to expect. Upon arrival the grounds were beautiful, and looked more like cute timeshares than your typical hotel. We checked in, and Kimberly and Shannon at the front desk were unbelievable! Upon hearing us talk of our honeymoon, they took it upon themselves to offer us a free upgrade to the resort's mansion grounds. The room was beyond clean and comfortable, and had a private balcony, big plus for us. The terrace restaurant had a fabulous view at sunset, although it was a bit pricey for small plate appetizers. To be expected I guess. Long story short, our trip was off to a wonderful start thanks to the resort and staff! We will be returning and also raving to family and friends.

We stayed in the Arbor village which is further back from the road by the golf pro shop and the pool with the bar and snack bar. And the restaurant and tavern on the coarse. We loved that aspect. These are not hotel rooms but efficiency apartments with bedroom living room full kitchen and private balcony. Even has waher dryer and dishwasher. Everything was spotless when we arrived and maid service daily. The pools and hot tubs were really nice. You have to drive to get to the mansion part and unless you stay in the mansion area itself, you cannot use their private beach. But resort offers a few free shuttles every day to bring you back and forth to the nearby public beach. That was fine and since the cost was much higher to stay there we didn't really want to stay at that part. Highly recommend for the price you get so much

"Dirty Mushy Beds"
We stayed in the Britterage Village townhouse. We chose this because the website claimed it was the newest/ updated rooms. It had a full kitchen, washer dryer, balcony, and was close to bike rentals and pool. The bed was a smaller than a queen- I think it was a full. It was very uncomfortable. The beddding was actually wet and had a blood stain. We decided to try the pull out sofa, because we were grossed out by the master bed. Once we opened the sofa bed we noticed coarse hairs and crumbs. We did not sleep well during our stay and were very disappointed by the cleanliness. The toilet practically fell off the wall when we sat on it. For around 300/night we expected at least a clean bed and sturdy toilet.
