"We'll be back"

Rustic cabins, cold (cheap) beer and home style meals, in the heart of world class fishing territory. The restaurant serves some of the biggest, cheapest and best meals on the peninsula. If you've worked up an appetite after a long day of fishing, you won't be hungry when you leave. The staff is very friendly. The chef loves his job. He walks around talking to diners to make sure they liked their meal. The cabins are clean and have everything you need for a perfect fishing base camp. Two thumbs up.

Their breakfast was amazing. The burrito and Spanish 3 egg scramble were delicious! We live local. We will definitely be back again. We're looking into staying at the cabins in the future. Very beautiful area.
"Excellent food & service"
The salmon chowder is delicious! As is the salmon, mashed potatoes, and grilled ham and cheese. The chef went out if his way to make sure we were completely satisfied. The service was wonderful. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Restaurant. A little restaurant with great taste. Recommended for all ages and appetites. Homemade food, local ingredients and Alaskan beers on tap. Ambience is rustic and dress is hiker casual. Tie up your dog outside and rest a bit.

We can't find a better way to end a day of fishing the Russian then to stop in at Gwin's. Good eats (the food is served hot and the beer is served icy cold), friendly staff all in a relaxing atmosphere. The Gwin Burger is delicious but make it a double patty - Sinful! We will unequivocally be back year after year.
"Nice place to spend a night for 2-3 people per cabin"

The cabin we had (#1) was clean, quaint and cozy, even for 3 people...It could sleep 6, but that would be really tight. Minimal room amenities, but this property is primarily focused on people there for the fishing and it provides what is needed.
"Go somewhere else!"

Coming to alaska to snag fish, well don't stay at Qwins! The Chef never washes his hands! (I've seen it it first hand) can't get housekeeping to bring any toiletries! After asking over and over again! I guess they don't understand English! For the same price, you can stay in downtown manhattan at the Waldorf Astoria! Or maybe in one of the luxurious hotels in key west! Trust me! Take your money somewhere else , cause I won't ever stay here ever again!!! Worst top dollar I've ever spent!!!
"Great Food, reasonable prices"

Stopped hear for dinner after a day of floating on the Kenai River. The food and service weary very good. Try the chili cheese fries. They are super and quite reasonable ( about $10.00). Also had the "Fruit of the Forest" pie which was very flavorful. Others in our party enjoyed the salmon chowder which they said was very good. We will definitely return

We stopped in for a quick dinner while staying in the Cooper Landing area. Gwin's is easy to find with plenty of parking off the main road. The atmosphere is rustic and well worn... but after all this place is a legend...and we were in Alaska. When we were at the restaurant the drinks were flowing and the place was hoping with visiting fishermen having a good-ole-time. A bit noisy for my taste...but I guess that's what a lodge is like. The menu had burgers and typical bar grub and the prices were typical for Alaska in the summer...expensive. We had some "Macho Nacho's" ($13 something w/o meat)...they were pretty good and there was plenty to eat, add some drinks and tip and you'll drop $40-50 for 2 for some casual food.
"Great place to get away"

Nice cabin we stayed at- No TV or other distractions to deal with. You can go out and enjoy the wilderness. If you kids are hooked on electrical gadgets-stay away. The restaurant is great also. A person needs to take in the full experience in Gwinns.
