"Great hotel, great location"
Hotel was great, the staff was so helpful. Room had everything we needed, including water in the refrigerator, hair dryer and every toiletry that you might need. 2 minute walk from the train station, lots of great restaurants and bars all around the hotel.

It's a nice hotel, and resonable room size for Tokyo (which is to say small by western standards). Hotel staff were pleasant and the hotel is well-maintained. Only down-side was the continental breakfast. The lobby was rather cramped, and that's where one took one's meal. Also, there was a cage of birds in the lobby. I could smell the birds and the fragrance used to mask it--not very appetizing.

"Rooms smaller than expected"
The hotel was good but the rooms were TINY. We read about other reviewers commenting on this but discounted them because we wanted to be all about Tokyo, not sitting in the room. However, we didn't even have a chair to put our suitcase on. The only place to sit in the room was on that bed which was pushed up against the wall. The suitcases were very frustrating to open because they were on the desk or bed. Good location but room size frustrating.

"Surprisingly comfortable"
Many Japanese hotels have small rooms, and this one is no different. But...I was surprised with how comfortable the room was. Unlike most hotels, this one felt more homey. The bedding was more comfortable, and the bathroom amenities were more extravagant. The complimentary breakfast seemed like a rather small selection, so I skipped it. Overall, it was a nice place to relax after a busy day.

"Excellent Hotel At A Great Price"
Decided to try a new hotel on a recent business trip to Tokyo (Akasaka) and stayed at the same place my colleague selected. The staff were excellent to deal with and very professional. The room was noticeably larger than the APA Hotel I stayed at previously so I was able to access the bed from all 3 sides, plenty of space to walk, had a sofa and the bathroom was larger as well. The hotel was clean and very well maintained. WiFi was stable, fast and reliable compared to other hotels I have stayed at. Tried the onsite spa for a much needed massage, excellent facility and staff as well. There is also an onsite public bathing facility (men & women are separate). Lots of places to eat and drink at that are also open until late, other shopping such as convenience stores are also nearby (7 Eleven across the street on the corner). Already planing to stay here again for future hotel needs in Akasaka or Roppongi.

"Wonderful place to stay in great location!"
This was a very nice hotel with the only room we could find in Tokyo big enough for our family of four (my husband and me and two teenaged daughters). Although there wasn't a lot of space for walking around, there were two good size twin beds and a bunk bed - so plenty of room in my opinion. There were lots of amenities, including personal care products in the bathroom (very nice!), coffee and tea and other nice touches such as a fresh yukata (robe) every day and included breakfast. There are also several washing machines and several vending machines on the 3rd floor although we didn't use them. There was a special, homey feel to the hotel and it was in a great location - near lots of great restaurants but not in a crazy tourist area. We'd definitely stay here again. Great value and excellent accommodations! Highly recommeded.

"Great location and priced hotel"
Grear hotel in a great location. I'd probably rate this better for vacation and night life than business. It's in a very happening area with lots of bars and restaurants. The rooms are typical for smaller cheaper Japanese hotels but well appointed. I'd stay here again for the right price.

"Very good centrally located Tokyo hotel"
We had a wonderful stay at centurion hotel grand Akasaka. It's fairly new and centrally located in Tokyo, one block walk to the subway with multiple restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. Room size wasn't big but I think appropriate for Tokyo real estate. Despite being a small room, it was very complete and clean. It had free public bath and spa for men and another separate one for women. All the hotel guests could get breakfast, 630-10am, with a daily menu of fruits, cereal, bread, jam, rice, miso soup, hotdogs, eggs, fish, pickles, potato salad, etc. The lobby had free refreshments for anyone; green tea, Lipton tea, Pepsi, ginger ale, orange soda, hot and iced coffee, and water. The front desk was very helpful and courteous. They try their best to communicate in English. If we would be in Tokyo again, I would definitely consider staying again at this hotel.

"Great place at a great price - recommend the 2bd"
First time to Tokyo didn't know what to expect. Hotel was reasonably priced and was very nice. Would definitely recommend. I stayed in the room with 2 beds and it was MUCH larger than the 1 bed rooms that some other friends had. Metro stop only a couple blocks away and close to many other hot spots -Harajuku, Sinjuku, Tokyo station etc.

"Perfect convenient and quality hotel!"
Large family rooms available that are well equipped and comfortable. The convenience to the train is less than 5 min and easy walk. If taking the limo bus from the airport, Hotel Excel is a very close drop off spot. The breakfast is very sufficient. The staff is willing and able to help with any request. They efficiently shipped luggage from the hotel to another hotel later in our journey with no problems, and we do not speak Japanese. If shipping, have the address printed out to make things easier. Highly recommend! Our room was smoking as that is what was available. I was concerned about a smell as we dont smoke and it is bothersome. I was prepared with air spray, however there was no smell in the room.

"Tiny room but great location near train station"
Tiniest room I've ever stayed in, which I suppose is the norm for Tokyo standards. We were given a smoking room which I tried to change to nonsmoking however the hotel was completely booked. Wasn't an issue since the room did not smell of smoke. Despite the shoe box room and lack of storage space for two pieces of luggage (no racks and minimal cabinet space), the room offers modern decor and facilities. Nice big flat screen tv. We had a queen bed and sofabed. Pillows were slightly uncomfortable. Bathroom is like the size of my closet and lacks counter & storage space. Rather than wash cloths, they provide a body cloth which is like a paper towel/cheesecloth combo and very uncomfortable to the skin. The full size shampoo, conditioner and body soap was good quality. Kimono robes were provided and the housekeeping service did a great job. I used the washer/dryer on 3rd floor which is coin operated. Thought it was wierd that there is only a male spa on premises, and that the women's spa is a in a separate building down the street which was inconvenient. Lobby staff very cordial and made sure to always greet us with a welcome smile. Best perk I can say about this hotel is the location to the Akasaka-mitsume train station less than 5 minute walk.

"Great Place to Stay in Tokyo"
This hotel was recommended by a friend who lives in Tokyo. It is a great place to stay as it is only 2 blocks from the Akasaka-mitsuke metro station. From there you can reach most places in Tokyo. The rooms are clean and although small compared to US standards are very comfortable. There is high speed wired internet in the room if you need to videoconference, and WiFi throughout the hotel. Japanese style breakfast is included. The hotel personnel is friendly and helpful. There are many restaurants nearby and it won't be difficult to find a place to eat. If you are flying to/from Narita it can be reached by taking the Skyliner train to Ueno metro station, and from there take the Ginza line to Akasaka-mitsuke. Very convenient. I highly recommend this hotel for its location, comfort and price.

"Very convenient hotel, modern"
Great hotel! This hotel is very conveniently located to the M red line (Akasaka-mitsuke stop) of the tokyo metro which will easily connect you to all of the major neighborhoods and JR (Japan Rail) lines. There are a number of restaurants/bars around the hotel-- some Japanese fast food (ie: TENDON bowls), sushi, soup noodles (Udon, Soba), Chinese. The buffet breakfast is excellent in my opinion (rice, miso soup, fish, veggies, fruit cocktail, juices/coffee). Rooms are very clean, staff very nice!. I would definitely stay here again!

"Had a Great Time!"
The hotel was located in a very lively area with LOTS of restaurants! It was also close to Akasakamitsuke Station, which was extremely convenient. We had lots of fun in Tokyo and we can't wait to visit Japan again! The rooms weren't the biggest, but it was Tokyo. They were, however, very clean and sufficient. Do not try to stuff more than 2 people and 1 large baggage in the room. Bathroom was very clean and had all amenities. The shower cloth was so soft!

"Affordable and great location with helpful staff"
A great hotel for the price when visiting Tokyo. Staff was friendly and helpful, with almost everyone speaking a bit of English. Continental breakfast of rice, miso soup, veggies, and fish, along with cereal and fruit, is not bad. Room was small, which is expected almost everywhere in Tokyo, but comfortable. On the 4th floor the bustle from the street was no problem while sleeping. The only issue was a problem with the air conditioning which was not much of an issue with the mild weather. Most guidebooks fail to mention the amount of interesting sights, restaurants, and things to do in Akasaka. This hotel is a few short blocks from the Akasaka-Mitsuke metro station.

For the amount I paid, this was a great hotel room. We got the family room with 4 beds and had lots of room to sleep. The rest of the living quarters were a bit cramped, but that's just how Tokyo is. The hotel is right next to a ton of restaurants and bars, and just down the road from the number 10 exit of the Akasaka-mitsuke station- very easy to get to. The breakfast was terrible though- only assorted breads and a hot broth, the juice was undrinkable, and there were no butters or meats or eggs. The hotel staff spoke very limited English as well, which made it a bit challenging. However, they worked hard to make sure we got what we needed. Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

"Excellent price for the location"
This hotel was well located off the Ginza metro line, with most major places (Harajuku, Meiji Shrine, Akihabara, Shibuya) within a 20 minute travel radius. The area around the hotel was very, very nice with tons of restaurants, convenience stores, and a post office with an international ATM if you need to take out more money with a non-Japanese credit card. The only problem was that the staff barely spoke any English - 15 words maximum a person which was a first for me and I've traveled in a lot of countries. Checking in was no problem, they can do that in a number of languages, but if you have any problems or extra requests it will be a challenge. But they were friendly and willing to work with us and with the use of google translate we were able to deal with a couple of minor problems.
