"Amazing apartments in central Berlin!!!"
Circus Apartments is a great Hotel/Apt in the Mitte neighborhood of Berlin. They have 21 units each named after the 21 most common German last names. I stayed in the Mustermann which was a spacious one bedroom apartment. It came with a fully equipped kitchen, large living room, balcony, bathroom, and bedroom. Everything was modern and actually seemed […] brand new. The building doesn't have a sign stating it is Circus Apts but when you come across the quaint Kitchen Cafe you'll know you're there. A desk in the cafe serves as the lobby and there will always be someone to greet and offer you a welcome drink when you arrive. My favorite part of staying at Circus Apts is waking up in the morning and being able to go just downstairs to a friendly smile and a cup of coffee. The staff is usually busy setting up a breakfast buffet of fruits, yogurts, and many other things. You can choose to sit inside or if the weather is nice there are a few tables set up on the sidewalk. They even provide blankets on the seats for the chilly mornings before the sun shine makes it's way around the buildings. Transportation is also very close by, I was able to make my way to the busier parts of central berlin within 10-15 minutes with the M1 or M12 tram 2 blocks away, and the Rosenthaler Platz station on the U Bahn is only 3-4 blocks away. There's also plenty of stores and restaurants and bars in the area if you do not wish to go far. All in all I had a great stay and will be back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Integral to happy memories of Berlin"
What a sweet start to our stay at Circus Apartments ! We arrived on my husband's birthday so the Circus Team and their pastry chef helped to organise a freshly baked cake.Their attention to detail was such that the pastry chef checked if I wanted an American style cheese cake or a German one. Since this was our first visit to Berlin, we opted for a genuine Kasekuchen. Wanted to thank the pastry chef in person but didn't get to meet her. Johann arranged for a card & candle too. Prior to arrival , we received a comprehensive list of all the services available at Circus. Everything from renting bikes , segways, guided walks, etc. An airport pick up and an early check in ensured a seamless, stress- free arrival. Another intuitive feature was their Fridge Service. When you're jet lagged and have yet to orientate yourselves in the neighbourhood , it's a real boon not having to forage for essential pantry items. Just email them your choice of milk, juices,,organic eggs, etc and they'll stock up the fridge. The breakfast items were so delish that we replenished supplies twice. My personal fave was the choc muesli. We booked rather late so the smaller apartments were already fully booked. No matter. We didn't mind booking a 6 persons apartment even though there were only 3 of us. We were intrigued enough to see for ourselves if it lived up to all the hype. Im happy to confirm that it's all true. Indeed , Circus Apartments made a real difference to our holiday in Berlin. There's a corner in the living room jazzed up with a mural and an orange rocking chair. We called this the Quirky Corner. Just the spot to thumb through magazines. More serious work could be done at a work desk with a study lamp. The only thing we missed were dressing table mirrors. The only mirrors were in the 2 loos and one in the foyer. What's a girl got to do to get ready without a mirror in her room ? After intensive sightseeing , we would return to our apartment for a cosy dinner. No need to call ahead to reserve tables. No waiting for harried waiters to take your order. I found it therapeutic to take the time to dress the table with little ornaments we bought at a Xmas market. We enjoyed rustling up meals in the fully equipped kitchen. There's a Kaiser supermarket up the road if you need fresh produce. Kaiser's fronts onto a park and playground. In case of inclement weather, you can while away time indoors , playing Wii and board games which are loaned to guests. I had some time to read in peace whilst daddy and daughter battled it out on Wii. Steven , you're a godsend for helping to set it up :-) A special note of appreciation for the staff at the Kitchen Cafe on the ground floor of the apartment. Order a babyccino. It's just hot ,frothy milk dusted with choc but it was such a comfort to walk in from the cold to a mug of babyccino ! Our stay abounded in superlatives : helpful staff , warm hospitality , well-kept apartment with all the mod cons and reliable & free WiFi. Did I mention free late check out and early check in ? Shortly after our return, Steven sent a thank you note. It is this rare blend of graciousness and hospitality that distinguishes Circus Apartments from other places. When the apartment offers such an embarrassment of choices and riches, it's difficult to pick just one or two highlights. Words dont do this place and its staff justice. Well done Circus Team !
"Great place in a great location"

Greeted by friendly staff, a great quality apartment with a stereo, tv kitchen wifi and a free ipad to use... The location is spot on, 10 mins walk up to the GDR stadium if you happen to be there. You can also wonder over to the circus hotel for breakfast - but don't be a late riser otherwise the food that is out will diminish .... I've been to Berlin a couple of times in the last 20 years, the war scars have been erased through gentifrication - but one building on the corner ( blocked on google maps ) is one of the most honest and coolest looking buildings in the whole city.... All in all a great base and devoid of the stuffy feeling of English boutique hotels and damn good value too.

We just returned from a 3 night stay with our 3 month old daughter and have nothing but praise for the Circus Apartments. The entire building is immaculately clean and the staff are friendly and helpful and always on hand to make the stay as smooth as possible. We loved the room service and had breakfast delivered to our room each morning and made use of the well equipped, free laundry in the basement. The location is just of the beaten track so is quiet and safe but no more than a 3 minute walk away from the shops and restaurants on the Main Street. The next street along has a range of cafes, ice cream parlour and some excellent restaurants which we used each day. I would have no hesitation recommending the Circus Apartments and will certainly return if we visit Berlin again.

We have stayed four nights in the Hermann apartment. Very spacious, clean and well equipped. Everything just works so well - the cafe is great for breakfast or for chilling during the day, or a quiet drink in the evening. And it is within very easy reach of Alexanderplatz and Unter den Linden - 15-20 mins level walk through some nice streets. The immediate area is very quiet but the other side of Torstrasse gets busier as you get nearer the Hackescher Markt. Some good restaurants in the locality and for under 35 chain smokers the Bar Odessa is a must. The staff are friendly and very efficient. Not cheap but definitely to be recommended for those who want to do Berlin on their own terms and not on a shoestring,

Yep - us too! We loved the place and it really added to our overall enjoyment of our sightseeing trip. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly and the digs were large, bright and very stylish and comfortable. Great!

As with many here, i would highly recommend this place. From the offered flat white up on arrival to when we checked out, the service was always with a smile and immediate. We booked a one bedroom apartment and having that additional space was great. The kitchen had everything you need. There are a lot of great cafes/restaurants/bars within 15 mins walk of the apartment and an easy 5 mins walk to the subway stop. There is a washing machine and dryer in the basement which is free to use. All in all, really enjoyed our stay and we ended up pottering around the apartment in the mornings, taking our time to have breakfast and just relaxing.

Had a very comfortable stay here. Spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable. Very friendly staff who are happy to help. Made use of the free walking tour offered by the hotel which was very good, the guide was extremely knowledgeable. Will stay here again when next in Berlin.
"Ideal vacation stay"

My family and I recently spent 10 nights in the "Hermann" apartment at The Circus. It was ideal in every way. The apartment is spotlessly clean, spacious, comfortably furnished, and very well equipped. The location, on a quiet street just off Rosenthaler Platz and within comfortable walking distance of the Hackescher Markt and Museum Island, is superb. The friendly young concierges in the hip cafe downstairs are all fluent in English and incredibly obliging. We particularly appreciated the "ask me anything" helpfulness of Steven, who always came through for us. There are many nice little service touches - too many to list here - that reflect the owners' unique philosophy which is described in their lovely and informative magazine as well as on their website. The nightly rate might seem a little high but, in our case, was easily recouped from savings on restaurant meals for the 5 of us. Overall: One of the best rental stays we've had in our worldwide travels.
"Highly recommended without any hesitation"

We stayed five night at our beautiful circus apartment at Berlin and I highly recommend this (apartments) hotel. 1. The location is great, just a few minutes walk from an underground station and a Tram station. A 2 minutes walk from a close by supermarket (Kisers). The neighborhood itself is very nice with nice Cafe shops. 2. Our apartment was very clean, very well maintained, the kitchen in our apartment was fully equipped including a dish-washer (although we only used it once) and there was even an ipad with an app for Berlin and a few local playlists which was nice listening to. We travelled with a one tear old and the staff prepared a bed and a chair for her. 3. The staff (speaks English..) was very helpful giving us good suggestions of where to visit and how to reach these places easily (and even reminded and offered to break bills into coins for the public transportation ticket machines). 4. There's a nice cafe called 'The kitchen' which can be useful and we tasted the cakes that I can say the were very good. Small/Big tip: If you plan to make a booking through a third-party website, I recommend contacting the hotel by mail/phone first to get a price for a direct booking The place is well maintained and it seems that the hotel staff and management care that people will have a good stay and this reflects in the various aspects and small details. I would recommend this place to my friends and I would come back on my next visit.
"A little bolt hole in a wonderful city. "

It's quite a treat to have your own apartment in a city as great as Berlin. The location is perfect, staff is absolutely amazing, and the apartments are very well furnished. However, I do agree with other reviewers that A/C would be very helpful. Keeping the windows open at night is not really an option as all units are facing the court yard, where, understandably, other people are enjoying time outside on their balcony thus resulting in a sometimes very "happy" and loud environment. But still, I highly recommend this place and will make it my stay of preference when in Berlin.
