"Amazing B&B - It's a CASTLE!"
I booked this stay about 5 hours before showing up, and they were so welcoming when we arrived. I wanted something fun for one of my last nights in Ireland. And was this an amazing place! The hotel is a touch hard to find if you're not looking out for signs but once you see the road, it's a piece of cake. Kathleen, the owner and hostess, was amazing. […] Great conversation, friendly, happy, and genuinely out to make sure all have a good stay. The hotel is connected to a 600+ year old castle and it's a fantastic bit of history to enjoy. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The views were wonderful. The hotel offers so much to do and see on just the property alone. From helping milk cows, to sheep, driving range, the list goes on. There are tea and yummy scones downstairs, as well as a honesty bar (a brilliant idea!) so you can relax and enjoy a fire in the evening with a drink of choice. Breakfast was made to order and included a buffet of items fresh from the farm the property has on it. Amazing food! John, the other owner, was so much fun to talk to and a great host. The bed was the most comfortable we'd slept in the entire trip. The shower temperature did tend to change a bit at random but not so drastic to scold or freeze and that's nothing that put me off. I loved every minute I was there and wished I had booked additional time. I can't wait to return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wonderful country retreat"
The deluxe double room was very spacious, quiet, beautifully decorated and flooded with light from three windows facing the fields. Breakfast was yet another treat featuring many home made specials. The entire trip felt like visiting friends in their wonderful country home. Already looking forward to our next visit!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lovely castle in very convenient location"
Had a great one-night stay in this family-run hotel. Proximity to Wexford Town and Kilmore Quay made for excellent dining options. Room was large, clean and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast quality and service was among the best I've ever had. Highly recommended!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"We could not have chosen better for our 1st night"

"A hidden gem"
This is a very beautiful old building which has been beautifully refurbished, displaying elegance and modern comfort. The room was tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. We were warmly welcomed and really enjoyed our stay here. Best of all for me though was the wonderful selection of breakfast options. The array of different fruits and nuts etc. […] was better than I've come across in any hotel or guest house, and all laid out in beautiful Nicholas Mosse pottery bowls. "Stay in a castle!"
Loved the atmosphere of this hotel - a lovely farmhouse building attached to the ruins of a castle. You can climb the castle for lovely views and the farm walk is also worth doing. Lovely room and breakfast. Would highly recommend! The owner, Kathleen, is also very friendly and welcoming.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lovely Historic Location"
The room and breakfast were very good and the ability to be able to look around the Castle and its grounds was very welcome. The owners were friendly and helpful as we arrived later than expected due to delays attributed to the Ferry service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The B&B is in a really lovely area. Kathleen is a wonderful hostess. The breakfast was fit for a king or queen ;-) I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet getaway but if you need to, you had grab a taxi or drive into Wexford Town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Coolest Place To Sleep"
02/17/14 Dawn E Saint Louis, Missouri
At the end of our trip I got to stay here, in a castle. It was on many acres, with animals and lovely gardens. My room while somewhat smaller, it was just me, was clean and had a window with a view of the horses and pasture. We walked the grounds, we fed chickens and cows. Breakfast was great! I would stay here again for certain! We were there in July 2011.
"Best place to stay in Ireland"

Arrived to an extremely warm welcome from two lovely, hospitable hosts! Throughout the course of our stay they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Both the room, the view and the castle were like a scene from Pride and Prejudice. We will definitely be making another visit and would highly recommend it to friends and family.
"Beautiful Setting & Great Accommodations"
10/02/13 Anne M Saint Paul, Minnesota
My husband, 1-year old daughter and I stayed here recently for one night after a last-minute booking. When we arrived, we were greeted by Kathleen, who was both friendly and helpful, asking if there was anything special we needed for our daughter. Our room was spacious, quiet, very clean and overlooked a scenic farm and pasture. In the morning, we took a walk around the stunning gardens and grounds - my daughter especially liked visiting the hens that provided our breakfast eggs. Absolutely everything we ate for breakfast, including the unique egg dishes, homemade scones & jam and stewed rhubarb was delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling in the area!
I have just come back from a one night stay in Killiane Castle. It was a visit that was far too short. It has such a homely atmosphere and the owners are so welcoming. It was so much nicer than staying in one of the large faceless hotels in the town. Wonderful experience, will be back.
"Beautiful location for a friendly & luxurious B&B"

This was our second stay here, this time with 2 small children. Firstly, the location is beautifully remote and peaceful. If you want to look out of your bedroom window & see farmland, this is an excellent place to be. The rooms are furnished to a high standard, with a tea lounge downstairs, and a guest lounge with a good selection of books. The facilities include a great outside space for walking, and croquet & tennis are available. The children particularly liked feeding the chickens! Breakfast is a wonderful treat, almost anything you could wish for is available and it's ALL delicious. Service is friendly & welcoming, and we'd definitely stay again when we use Rosslare port.

Killiane Castle was a rate find, a last minute booking that turned out to surpass all expectations. Quiet, secluded location, beautifully appointed rooms, charming, friendly host and a great breakfast to boot! Could not recommend more, shame we only got to spend the one night. Plenty to do, even with young children!
"Great B & B!"

We travelled as a family and stayed in the family room. Accompanying us were our 2 small children. They LOVED it! Much to explore. I liked that it was an actual working farm with cows, chickens and lambs. The owners son let us watch him milk the cows which the kids thought was really neat. I also loved that the hotel was built into castle ruins. The owners set up scaffolding that you could climb up and get inside the in tact areas of it. Really great views from the top! Kathleen, the owner made us an absolutely amazing breakfast and set us on our way back to Dublin to catch our flight back home. We hated to go and will be back again. I will recommend this hotel to everyone I know who is traveling to Ireland.
"Magical spot, feel part of the family at this stage!"

I usually never write reviews but our experience at Killiane Castle is always the high point of our yearly trip home to Ireland. My wife, three small children (9,5 and 5) and I have stayed here for several years and the kids actually ask me if we're related to the family. It's an ideal location for young children, open fields, beautiful nature walks, fantastic gardens, vegetable patch, free range eggs, the lot! Kathleen and the family go out of their way to make sure we have everything we need and then some. The kids can participate in watching the cows getting milked, we can organize Bar-B-Qs in the gardens, sit out in the sun on the benches and tables provided, as the kids run around and play on the lawns, take walks through the woods, etc. I can't recommend Killiane Castle enough and the main attraction for us is the family who make us feel so welcome every time. 10 out of 10 for service, value, sleep quality, cleanliness, location and rooms and another 10 out of 10 for genuine warmth so can be so lacking in many of the other places we've stayed throughout Ireland.
"an unexpected delight"
We spent a night here before boarding the ferry at Rosslaire the next morning, the room was spotless and the Kathleen the hostess was very helpfull and very pleasant to talk to. It was no problem for her to cook an superb Irish breakfast early so we could get to the ferry on time and nothing seemed too much trouble, I'd like to stay here again when we have more time to enjoy the surroundings
"For Relaxation but..."
07/27/13 Spoey Vancouver, Canada
My wife and I recently stayed for 2 nights. The hostess/owner, Kathleen, was incredibly helpful/welcoming and made amazing foods which were served for breakfast which was fantastic. No welcomig tea service. The 'castle' is isolated and you need to drive to Wexford (6 km) for decent food. Avoid the local 'The Farmers Market', a waste of traveling eating time. The amenities sound great but the 'castle' is a bit run down. Climbing the tower was downright dangerous especially down. The tennis court is sad, the BBQ somewhat rusty. The rooms were alright but poorly serviced. The used glasses were not even removed and replaced. No lift either for those on the 3rd floor! Good if you want country quietude but at €100/night, we're not sure it is worth it. Also the Internet only works on the main floor where no guest rooms are.
