"Should have stayed at the Atrium Hotel"
We should have stayed at the Atrium Hotel down the street on Petchaburi Road. This was my sixth trip to Bangkok and I should have stayed at a place where I would have felt more comfortable. As they say, "you pay for what you get." Given that my nightly rate at Q was $20 a night versus $60/night at the Atrium; in hindsight I would stay at a hotel that […] has safes in their rooms. Security gives a traveler a piece of mind. My other complaint is that the bathroom is small. No bathtub, just a shower and a small sink countertop with a faucet that was about to fall apart. Plus hot water was a hit or miss depending on the time of day. The bed was situated against two walls and it was elevated by an annoying solid wooden riser that my girlfriend and I would accidentally bang our leg or shin against. As far as the staff goes, they were friendly but a little bit of English would help. Asking for "Coke", "fish sauce", "Sprite", and "towels" was lost in translation. One is better off walking down on Petchaburi road for some good street food or taking a taxi to Thonglor neighborhood for some excellent local cuisine. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice clean and modern rooms, good service, friendly and helpfull staff. Not best location in BKK. Metro is 25 min walk, but taxis readily available in surrounding area. Will stay here again next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"bad experience here"
The receptionist did not speak good English, and he was not trying to help. He and other staff did not seem to know the area around. If you are not familiar with BKK, do not stay here. You need to get some good assistance for directions. The lobby is nice, but the hall ways and rooms are not as nice as the lobby at all.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Bit out of town but good value"
We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst exploring bangkok. Rooms are fine, spacious and the staff just about know enough English to help out. Taxi drivers do not know where it is tho so get the hotel to write some thai instructions on their business card to help you out. Breakfast was extra 100 baht but was fineGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great value. Friendly staff."
Enjoyed Q Hotel so much I extended my stay. Very good value and staff were superb. Lovely clean room. Flat screen tv with good choice of cable channels inc Fox News/AlJazeera and some popular programs in English. Also a French & German channel. Wifi was fast and free internet computer in lobby ( prints 7 bath a page ). Normally stay in Sukhumvit but […] hotels there twice the price and not as good. Rather pay the 60 baht or so each way in meter taxi or walk about 40 mins. If arriving from Int airport get the express train to Makkasan Stn ( next to Phetchburi Mrt Stn exit 1 turn left into Phetchburi Rd ) and it's about 50 baht on meter taxi to hotel or 25 minute walk. There is a Esso service stn almost across the road from Q Hotel with good Tesco Lotus supermarket ( but you have to use footbridge to get to it ) and there is 7/11 5 mins walk from hotel. I would recommend this hotel as it is great value. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Was not bad but the hotel is good for its rateGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We choose it because of its relative proximity with the indian embassy. However, it is remote from the comercial and historic centers, and there is no subway station nearby. Moreover, there is only a few touristic restaurants around which are not fantastic, and some street food. So the location is definitely the weakness of this hotel which is very […] good on all others aspect (clean, comfortable and nice staff). The easiest way to reach the center is taxi, tuktuk or public bus. However, all of them can be very frustrating during rush hours. After a few days, we found THE best way to move around : the public boat on the canal. The nearest pier is only 5 minutes walking from there and allow a fast and cheap journey to the center even during rush hours. But don't drink the water! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"No soap, no shampoo, no hair drier in the room."
The room was clean and front desk staff friendly. However, there was no soap, shampoo or hair drier in the room. The shower cannot be hung anywhere in the bathroom so it's very difficult to take a shower. Since there is a massage parlor inside the hotel, this hotel may not be suitable for family or female travelors. I suspect the rooms had been converted […] from massage parlor rooms. It was ok for 6 hour stay but I would not go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
이정도 가격에 나쁘지 않음. 호텔로 만들어진 건물이 아니고, 마사지 샵을 개조한 것으로 보여짐. 내부는 나쁘지 않고, 저렴하 가격의 값어치는 충분히 하고 있음.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review

Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I've stayed at the Q Hotel on 3 separate occasions now for up to one week at a time and I keep coming back. My wife and I started out in a backpackers near Khao San Road. Compared to that, this place is extremely good and almost the same price. No comparison really. I have found it to be very quiet and the staff are extremely helpful and polite. The only negative is that it's hard to find and most Taxi's have never herd or it, but once you tell them it's opposite RCA they know straight away where to go. Whenever we go to Bangkok we will always stay here, it's just good value and plenty of cheap roadside stalls nearby to buy food, but even the restaurant in the hotel is reasonably priced and the food is good.

Hotel next door with Thai massage shop or spa I am not sure .Maybe 10 minutes from MRT or Airport Link and RCA By Taxi, Clean room with very nice bathroom free wifi and fast speed.Front desk staff very nice .Cheap price book by Travel Agency.
"Very good hotel. Great service. Location: "REMEMBER OPPOSITE RCA""
05/20/14 Mit2014 Manchester, United Kingdom
We from UK. We (me and wife) stayed here for 6 nights. Its a great hotel. Great location near the city.. Great service and friendly staff with good english. Rooms are clean and in good condition. Great hotel entrance. Offer laundry service which was cheap and good.. no clothes went missing and clean clothes. Was not noisy outside or inside its was quiet place where you can sleep peacefully. You get 2 free water bottles for free everyday. They also have a personal safe which you can use but not located in your room. But its totally safe to put your belongings. There is local shop to get snacks or drinks just 2mins walk from hotel. Also few places to eat outside hotel just 5mins walk Banks and ATM machine to get cash out just 2mins walk from hotel. Transportation as mentioned in previous reviews by others. Great location! TIPS if you staying here or just general tips: 1) When you arrive to airport or catch a taxi from anywhere in bangkok no one knows where the hotel is and no one can read english on map properly. However if you say the road name New Petchaburi Rd and mention "Opposite RCA" (hence the review title) the driver will know where abouts the hotel is located. 2). If coming back to hotel from anywhere. The taxi driver will say 200bahts to 300bahts. SAY NO! Put the meter on.. You will struggle to get a taxi because of heavy traffic but thats everywhere not just this hotel location. This tip will HELP you SAVE MONEY and TIME. Tell the driver "drop us off on opposite side of the main road, so no need to U-turn for 100bahts and we cross the road". They will be happy to drop you off for 100bahts. If you put the meter on its so cheap but drivers want to make more money from tourist and say its not working so they try to get more money out of you. This tip will help. This helped us. 3) When leaving hotel to go out to places.. ask the hotel receptionist to get you a "meter taxi". Again this will SAVE you MONEY because the driver will put his meter on thinking its not for a tourist. When the driver realises its a tourist hes picking up theres no going back he will have to keep the meter on and you will save money. If you went out of hotel and walked towards the city on the main road then you decided to get a taxi you will be asked to pay more because taxi driver knows you a tourist from a mile. Thats why let the hotel receptionist call for a taxi to save you money. 4). If you going to main tourist sites or any where some taxi drivers or other people cant read english so Tip here is to get the hotel receptionist to TRANSLATE in THAI on paper and you present that to taxi driver or person and they will know where you want to go. 5) REMEMBER OPPOSITE RCA on New Petchaburi Rd. These tips will help you enjoy your holiday. We enjoyed our stay and would go back to same hotel.
"Not as bad as review!!!"
05/11/14 Tuentachom-S Bangkok, Thailand
I got free credits from hotel reservation application so here I am. I got worried reading reviews but turned out not as bad as I thought . The hotel is located away from city but has many choices to get there. First MRT (underground train) Phetburi station, look for exit no.2, another option is Airport rail link Makkasan station then you must walk around 20 minutes or can take to motorcycle taxi (should not over 30B.) or even take a bus to the hotel. The hotel room is good and clean but look like the light system designed for sleeping only. Free coffee in you room with the water boiler but you have to pay 99B. if you wanna have the breakfast here and also must deposit 500B. for the keycard but they will return to you when check out.

We searched a clean, new Hotel with a good Shower, good Bed and good connection to the Airport Link Station to go to Airport next morning. After a long journey in Thailand with Backpack was this the last Hotel and a good choise, specially for this price. Excellent

Before the trip, we read the reviews and got really worried, but the stay was more than pleasant for us. The hotel looks alright from the exterior, very budget hotel looking but it's okay for the price we paid. The place is slightly away from town but a bus will take you straight to Platinum Mall (we learnt how to take a bus from the receptionist) and the MRT station is nearby (a cab there will cost around 50baht). All the receptionist in the hotel speaks English, not excellent but good enough for directions and information. Service is excellent, but be patience with them as their English aren't the best and tourist's accent probably don't help. We saw group of European guests shouting at the receptionist, talking really fast with a thick accent, yet the receptionist smiled and tried his best to assist. The room itself is small but well furnished. There's no safe in the room, we didn't need one anyway. Locked our belongings in our suitcases and everything was in place when we came back so no issue. Cleanliness was alright for us, they cleaned our room daily and replenished the bottled water as well. We had to go to the reception for a hair dryer but we get to keep it for the entire stay. The "Massage, Spa & Entertainment" place is a separate section of the hotel, the rooms seems separated from the part we're staying (there's a door separating the two parts), they even have their own separate entrance. No loud moaning during our stay. The only downside of our stay is probably the fact that almost all taxi drivers doesn't know where the hotel is, so be sure you carry a map with the hotel's name and contact with you, it's provided at the counter, so the taxi drivers can refer to. If all fails, ask the taxi driver to give the hotel a call and you're sorted. Would definitely return and recommend this hotel.
"Only if you want to stay in a "love den""
Booked two nights sight unseen on the strength of previous reviews on this site. As soon as we arrived and I noticed there is an attached spa advertising "massage and entertainment" I began to have my doubts. Basically, this is a hotel where men hire rooms to have sex with prostitutes. Every time I walked down the dank and dingy corridor to our room I could hear women loudly moaning in that over-exaggerated fashion. The matress was wrapped in plastic. You get the idea. Sadly I can't say the room quality made up for the seediness. Perhaps we just got the worst room in the place but the bathroom clearly had not been properly cleaned since the initial fitting. Most of the finishings had grout splashings across them, the joinings were woefully bad (big gaps and cracks) and there were black hand/finger prints all over the place.
"great hotel for a great price"
03/04/14 Cara B Kandy, Sri Lanka
Great relaxing stay here, out of the main town a little, but this makes it quieter and it is close to the metro stops (about 10 main walk) and the bus to town goes down the road the hotel is on. Very friendly staff. Liked it so much, extended our stay and returning when we come back to Bangkok. Would recommend this hotel.
"horrible place, stay away!"
02/27/14 kaliaway HI
I started wondering maybe I should not really put trust on reviews after this experience. I mean it was just horrible. The lobby looked clean around 9 p.m. and it did not seem crowded. Yet, once you go upstairs, the hallway was smelly and old. The room was O.K. It was the receptionist who did not speak English at all. His mannarism was condesending. I told him that I did not need anyone to come to my room to show things and carry my lugggage, btu he did not understand. I said I did not have any change for him, and he said I could break money for small changes for him. The nice thing was that the water and coffee were complimentary. The receptionist did not seem to know the surrounded area. I asked him how to get to a particular big shopping mall close to the hotel, and he had no clue. A taxi came but the driver left without knowing where I was supposed to go. Yes, it was my responsibility to prepare in advance, but when you are in the middle of traveling with lack of sleep, you want some assistance. Overall, I would stay away if I were you.
"Basic but clean"
02/05/14 MrandMrsRVB Newforest
We stayed here for a week - primarily as it was close to our son we were visiting. The hotel is certainly clean and the staff helpful. There is free computer services in the hall and wifi. You also have coffee making, a fridge and free bottled water in the room daily - so that is is great!. The room was dark - painted in browns - and noise was a negative factor as the hotel is on a main road and there was no double glazing (or maybe it needed triple). We always request highest floors to get away from noise but this is only 3 storys (hey and no lift so be aware if heavy luggage or less able). Everything was 'fine' but you would not want to come back to the room to relax particularly and really the entrance although has soft chairs was not what we would want to sit about in...once again basic (however clean and tidy). You are too far away from tube but taxi cabs are plentiful day and night and pass the door and cost approx 35-50 bht (depending on traffic queues) to take you to the nearest 2 tube stations or the main shopping plaza - which is great for food and loads of outlets etc...lovely Mall.......
