Clean enough, cheap enough, and close to Shibuya Subway Station. Wifi was good. Dont expect the guys at the counter to help you much with finding places or giving recommendations(and why shld you?) but their were no problems with their service concerning the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location-meets expectations"
Hotel was in a great location in the heart or Shibuya and very close to the train station! Capsules were comfortable and place was clean. Spa pool was a great plus! Just don't come here expecting any service. The staff do not speak a word of English. Don't expect any maps or directions from them, nor should you expect to store any luggage before checking […] in or after checking out- or check in 1 min before checkin time. Keep in mind the train stations all have baggage lockers which is was very helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
First time staying at a capsule hotel -- surprisingly very comfortable -- annoyingly doesn't have a power outlet in the capsule ....Genuine Expedia guest review
Clean enough but the second-hand smoke from jetlagged chainsmokers puffing away all night made it an unpleasant experience. The capsule rooms are nonsmoking but the air flow brought the smoke cloud into the room anyway. The massage chair room was nice, coin laundry convenient. Great location, but I would only stay here again if they banned smoking inside […] completely. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Standard Capsule Hotel- No frills place to sleep"
I stayed here a couple of nights and overall the experience was okay. It has a great location very close to Shibuya Station and other places in the area. The capsule was fine, although the lack of power point in the capsule meant I was not able to charge my phone overnight which was a bit of a hassle. Some advice also there is very little space for […] luggage in your locker so pack lightly. Although it seems to be okay if you have a bigger bag to leave it in the hallway where the capsules are, although this is obviously a less secure option. Not a bad place to stay for a couple of nights. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
If you are looking for a true Japanese experience and want to stay at a cheep place in a great location for a couple of nights, this is the place. It can´t be compared to a "real hotel" but compared to a bunk bed at a youth hostel this is luxury. Clean place with OK service at a great location. You keep your stuff in a locker but there is no real place […] for big bags. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Genuine Expedia guest review

"Mitten in Shibuya, zentrale Lage"
"Unexpected Good experience at a Capsule Hotel"
09/02/14 Dileep S
I was looking for a budget hotel close to the centre of Tokyo and was delighted to have found this capsule hotel in the heart of the action priced at just ¥3,200. This establishment is for men only. It was clean, quiet and safe. Never stayed at a hotel quite like this before, so there was a learning curve. The hotel is located on 10 floors, 7 of these are where the individual capsules are located. Six of the accommodation floors are non smoking. The ground floor serves as a reception area, for checkin and to lock up your shoes, which is the first step to the checkin process!!. Once the shoes have been secured then the key for the locker is exchanged for the luggage/clothes locker which is on the 2nd floor. The floors each have a communal block of toilets and hand basins and are kept very clean. The floor that contains the bathing / shower area in on the 3rd floor. The capsules themselves are comfortable with a light, radio and TV, though all the TV stations were in Japanese. One of the down sides is that there is only one elevator servicing the building and this can be an issue during the rush hours. There is an outside staircase which tends to be used when the rush is on, so it's not too bad in good weather. I would recommend this hotel as a place to rest up during the day as they have a 'Day Rate' so it's very convenient if you are in need of sleeping off a jet lag or hang over :) Don't expect and luxury here, but it's safe, clean and comfortable and great value for money.
"Great location and an excellent facility!"

I decided to stay at this capsule hotel recently. It was my first time in Japan, and my first time at a capsule hotel. The place has about 10 floors, some which are smoking and others are non-smoking. The first floor is the lobby and check in. There are small lockable cubbies for your shoes, as the rest of the hotel is carpeted and no shoes are allowed. On the second floor, there are lockers and washing machines. The lockers are very narrow, and won't fit a suitcase. I was traveling with a regular sized backback, and that fit just fine. They will provide you with towels and a robe + shorts to sleep/wander around the hotel in. On the third floor, there is a sauna and public baths. Personally, I did not use these facilities, but it seems like the regular Japanese public bath setup, with more lockers and towels up here. On the fourth floor, there is a nice lounge area. About 25 massage chairs are in a room, with a couple of TVs on the wall. Thankfully, they were playing the world cup when I was there. The massage chairs are awesome after a long day of exploring, and are NOT coin operated! What a relief. The remaining floors are for capsules. They are stacked two levels high, and have "blinds" that will slide down so you can have privacy when you sleep. The bed is just a mat, and somewhat firm, but I slept great nonetheless. There is a power outlet to charge things, radio, and a small TV as well. The tv has about 11 channels, but I didn't spend more than 30 seconds watching it in my whole 4 day stay. The concierge speaks basic enough English so you can check in and stuff. Unfortunately, I knew absolutely zero Japanese besides 'hello' and 'thank you', but I managed just fine. All of the floors have vending machines for snacks, drinks, and cigarettes. Also, the upper capsule floors have urinals, toilets, sinks, mirrors, and at least 1 private stand-up shower. The capsules are nice enough, and I would totally stay here for my next visit in Tokyo. It is located about 5-10 minutes down the street from Shibuya crossing and subways station. There are tons and tons of restaurants and bars in the surrounding area as well.
"Wouldn't even let us in!"

just a bit of a background on what we actually did before arriving here: that day we had done a lot of traveling, had been in Kyoto, and the plan was to head up to Tokyo, and stay there for the night, after going to Hiroshima, and Nara. so we caught the Shinkansen from Kyoto station quite late, we arrived in Tokyo Central about 11:00pm-12:00am, and after being unable to find anywhere we decided we would head to this capsule in Shibuya, so we arrive in Shibuya, manage to find this capsule hotel, which was such a sigh of relief, as we had been traveling around all day, and as you could imagine were extremely tired, and sore, after lugging around heavy rucksacks. so we walk in, they have room, thats awesome we thought, gave them our passports etc, then they saw my mates tattoo, and refused to let us in, as he had a tattoo, we were literally devastated, as this was our last resort, we had tried tons of places before, and after we got refused access here, it was the final blow, we were even trying love hotels and anything just to get a room, bare in mind we were two straight blokes. at this time we were stuck in Shibuya, train station had closed for the night, so that night we ended up sleeping on the steps of the subway, with a bunch of homeless people. well i say slept was more like a 30 Minuit nap, as the station opened up again at like 3am or so. after that we heading to Shinjuku where we managed to find a manga cafe and slept there for a few hours.
"It's your typical capsule hotel in a terrific location"
11/18/10 wandererer151 Tokyo
If you have never stayed in a capsule hotel before, then you're in for quite an experience. Capsule Land Shibuya was never known for their hospitality, and none of their staff will speak to you in English. BUT, there is still good value for yen here. Pay the extra 500yen to stay on the top floor. There are fewer capsules there...less people, better sleep, easier use of washroom... It is well worth it. There is a nice view from the top as well. The onsen (hot bath) is the only way to clean up, so if you're shy, either get over it or find a standard hotel. The biggest hassle is there is no room for luggage. Pack light. They will not check your luggage behind the desk either, rather, offer you use of coin lockers outside of the hotel. Again, it's a hassle, as these lockers are OUTSIDE the building, meaning you're competing with everyone else in Tokyo to store your bags. Spending a night or two here wont' kill you. It's something I will recommend for anyone who needs to be near Shibuya Station, or if you only have a one night layover. Don't plan your vacation around it. Use it as it was designed for, a clean place to rest, and be ready for your tomorrow.
