We loved our stay here at the Boathouse. The customer service was top notch and the rooms were beautiful. Our room was very spacious with a king bed, separate seating area and very nice bathroom. All the decor is modern and coastal and they left a whoopie pie on our bed, YUM! The breakfast isn't elaborate but more than adequate for our needs and better than the average continental breakfast. My husband was excited to have salmon ( his favorite) as an option, fresh fruit, muffins, eggs and juice. I was impressed by how busy the bar and restaurant were- even in winter.
"The good, the bad, and the little things"

Stayed at the Boathouse for a couple of nights for a change of scenery. The good: Location. Hotel is located on a marina within walking distance of all Kennebunkport has to offer. Staff is fantastic-friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, right down to the doorman. Bedding is very good and very warm! We actually turned off the heat in the room to be more comfortable. Hotel was clean with the exception of sand on the rug (couldn't be helped because of the weather) and David's KPT (to be discussed under restaurants). Our room was right near the top of the stairs and as soon as we heard the noise from the bar and restaurant we thought "oh, great, no sleep this weekend!". I've never been more wrong. The soundproofing was amazing-once the glass door closed you could not hear a thing. There was occasional noise through the floor (our room was situated right above) but only when someone was extremely loud and was easily covered by the TV. Heater was very quiet. Room size wasn't huge, but more than adequate and the bathroom very well appointed. The good-by "gift bag" consisted of two bottles of water and the most incredibly delicious brownie-type cookie. The bad: Our room location (210) was directly over the front entrance of the hotel and faced the parking lot. When the restaurant and bar closed down there was considerable noise from people departing, especially those that were, well, let's just say "somewhat well lubed". On the upside the noise is short-lived (maybe 15 minutes) and everything shut down around 11, so it wasn't very late. The little things: OK, so this is nit-picking, but here goes. Robes that were supplied were wrinkled. Bed sheet was not tucked in properly when room was cleaned. Towels that we hung up were not "tidied". L'Occitane products were fine, but shampoo and conditioner were of poor quality and the body wash smelled like chocolate mint chip ice cream gone bad. Overall it was a great weekend and I would highly recommend the hotel with the caveat that there may be some noise at closing time. Better sound-proof glass in the windows would help. Off-season rates are particularly attractive.
"Fabulous Mid-Winter Getaway"
02/13/14 Patricia W Stoneham, Massachusetts
We had an enjoyable one night mid-winter (2/10/14) stay at "The Boathouse" in Kennebunkport. Having stayed at one of the other KRC properties for our 40th wedding anniversary in September ("Hidden Pond") we were looking forward to a stay at another of their properties. From the reserved parking spot upon arrival to the offer of welcoming glasses of wine (which we decline), to the nice breakfast the next morning before our drive home and the travel bag of water and snack for the ride upon departure, you get the feeling that you are a little bit special. The room (#202) was clean and nice (though a bit small) and everything in it was of an upscale quality. The room overlooks the river with boats tied up and from the balcony sliders you get a peek of the bridge entering Dock Square. Even though the view past the river is mostly buildings and shops, the sunset and sunrise were peacefully spectacular (painting quality). We were the only guests of the hotel on that Monday night but the bar was full of (presumably) local clientele enjoying drinks and appetizers. The restaurant an bar are on the first floor. Although not necessary on our visit, the perk of hotel guests being allowed to make dinner reservations while the general public cannot, would be a huge plus during 'peak' season. The general manager that evening, Jeff, was a gracious host. Our meals were exceptional. After a quiet evening in the room we were unexpectedly greeted in the morning to a beautiful breakfast spread of quiche, smoked salmon, prosciutto, breakfast breaks, fresh fruit, juice and coffee in the bar/lounge dining area. Since we were the only overnight guests we felt very special that such a nice spread was offered. We would love to return in the summer and enjoy drinks on the balcony while watching bumper to bumper traffic trying to find a parking spot near Dock Square. Thanks for a wonderful getaway....we will be back.
"Exception... Run Don't Walk"

The Boathouse Hotel in Kennebunkport, Maine is an exceptional property that offers attentive and compassionate service; updated rooms that provide a contemporary ambiance; views to die for; and a restaurant that yearns to please (from happy hour specials to a comprehensive menu that will please every palate). In order to secure our room/date we made several contacts with the inn. EVERY contact included a compassionate reservationist who sought to listen and to please. Upon arriving, we were greeted with champagne, directed to our personal parking space, and then to our "room with a view" (that touched our imaginations and hearts). Next we went to dinner at the hotel. At dinner we were attended to by both our waitress, and their front of house director, Laura Ray. Both strove to please and provided service that exceeded our expectations.Breakfast, while continental, included smoked salmon, cereals, fruits, great coffee and was, for our tastes, just wonderful! "Run don't walk" to The Boathouse... You won't be dissapointed! Gratefully, MLF and RF

My husband and I stayed this past weekend. This was our third visit and can't wait to return. The rooms are comfortable, clean and have lovely views. Very relaxing and it so convenient that David's KPT is downstairs for drinks and dining. Also, love the reserved parking space, the welcoming reception and constant smiles of staff making sure we were completely satisfied. We will be back soon! The Boathouse is one of our favorite places to stay! Thanks to the staff for helping to make our stay so enjoyable!
"Kennebunkport Christmas Prelude"

Kennebunkport Just come back from a fantastic week attending the Christmas Prelude in Kennebunkport, Maine. This was our 13th visit (from England) and just as enjoyable, if not more, than our previous visits. In recent years we have noticed some significant changes, mainly around the Dock Square area of the town. This doesn't make any difference to the warmth and excitement we experience, in fact it just gets better and better. Over the years we have stayed in nine different hotels/inns (some two or three times). Our latest find is The Boathouse Waterfront Hotel. We actually watched it being built on our visit in 2012 and we were fortunate enough to stay there this year for 4 days - and what a fantastic time we had in this new, modern hotel, with rooms overlooking the harbour and some over Dock Square itself. We chose a large room overlooking the square, the view and the very spacious room (including a four poster bed) were truly spectacular and that wasn't all. The food was excellent, with a really good menu. The staff deserve a special mention as they were so helpful, attentive and warm, nothing was too much trouble. Definitely not to be missed, in fact we had more or less decided that this should be our last time in Kennebunkport, but after this last visit - watch this space!!!!!
"Another great stay"

I returned to the Boathouse for another quick trip to town and had the opportunity to stay in a different room. It was just as great. When you arrive, there is a parking spot reserved for you which is extremely convenient and thoughtful for them to do. The rooms are clean, full of amenities such as AppleTV. The cable package also includes a wide range of channels unlike some chains that really only offer the basic or basic plus sports. The showers are large and have great water pressure. They also have Farmasthetics bath products (shampoo, hair rinse and bath wash.) And, even better, you can walk downstairs to David's for a cocktail, dinner or dessert. I'm a big fan of Kennebunkport, and when staying in town solo without children, this is where I want to be.
"A perfect stay for our 33rd Anniversary!"
11/05/13 KathyCritic West Palm Beach, Florida
My Husband & I flew in to Boston from West Palm Beach, FL for our 33rd Anniversary (October 25th) and drove South to Newport and then made our way up through the White Mountains,NH and then on to Maine where we had heard so much about "Kennebunkport" and decided to stay our last night there and we are so happy to have stumbled upon "The Boathouse" (Trip Advisor) And we LOVED everything about it. We arrived and checked in with very nice staff (the restaurant manager actually helped us get our room, but Kate was sweet on the phone) We LOVED our room! It was PERFECT in every way! My husband teases me and tells me I am the "Pickiest" person ever when traveling in wanting the "Best" places to stay. (He's right!) We had called several other Hotels and B&B and the prices were much more affordable at other places however we feel glad we decided to go ahead and spend our last night here. Now we have beautiful memories starting with a gorgeous sunset at dinner which was superb! And our server "Jeremy" was over the top nice and made us feel very welcomed and even directed us to the best spots to photograph, as a photographer I was thrilled to get this information and I did get the best shots ever! The food was scrumptious & the whole dining experience was a special experience. After dinner we relaxed and enjoyed the views of our balcony and enjoyed the comfy robes on a chilly night. What I remember most is how well and thought out every detail was in our room, very tasteful and top notch, not cutting corners in any way, I thought this place will hold up well for many years as I noted every fixture of decor. Also most really important to me as a person of strong senses, I so enjoyed the linens and the smells of them. I kept telling my husband these scents are something I want in my home, and I MUST find out what they are. I SO enjoyed the very special shower wash and shampoo and wonder if the linens are also washed in the same herbal wash? Without a DOUBT my husband & I woke up to the BEST night of sleep EVER! The only thing was... it was so comfy that it was just so hard to get out of bed! We said we wished our own bed was so comfortable and it is pretty nice. We went downstairs to breakfast and we were the only ones there, not a sole in sight, but to our eyes was like Christmas morning to a sparkling shine on sunlight on the bar with a spread of amazing fruits, danish rolls, fresh juices, hot coffee, and the most delicious cranberry nut crumb bread that melted in our hungry mouths and hit the spot perfectly to start off our day. Just at the right time a server appeared and sent us off with a smile of appreciation and gladness we were so grateful for our yummy meal. We have reflected several times on the (over a week ago now) most special anniversary trip ever (actually our first without children in all these years!) We were surly blessed and we hope to be able to come back someday soon and bring our adult children and our 13 year old son, they were impressed with our excitement and our beautiful pictures!
"Amazing!!! Rooms are Beautiful and Great Staff"
10/27/13 marianneas Litchfield, Connecticut
We just got back from a three day trip to Kennebunkport, Maine. We stayed at the Boathouse Hotel and it was beautiful. We had room 201, with two balconies and two water views. The room was gorgeous and the bathroom --- OMG!!!! You could fit 4 people in that shower. The staff was wonderful -- thank you to Stephanie, Kate, Casey, Opan and Fabian. Woopie Pies and Voss water in the room with a Kerig -- nice touch and when you check out they give you a gift bag of pistachios, taffy and 2 mini waters -- wow!!!! Bathroom products in the shower where local and so good -- love the bath wash. They also feature Le Occtaine body lotion and moisterizer and give you mouth wash too. We will definately be back!!! We didn't get to eat at the restaurants but they were packed every night so they must be doing something right. If you are in Kennebunkport and you can get a reservation -- jump on it!!!!
"Very wonderful anniversary trip"
10/21/13 Rachy817 Queensbury, New York
I searched long and wide for a hotel with restaurant that had a great location and romantic environment for our 5th wedding anniversary. After a recommendation from a friend I booked this property and am so glad I did! Everything about this hotel is great- clean and modern environment, great bar and restaurant, and wonderful view from our large room! We wished we had booked this property for the next night instead of the other property we stayed at.
