"Great Location and Clean"
The hotel and staff were wonderful. The A/C worked great, very clean large rooms and a quick 3 minute drive to a 5 star restaurant and an awesome pizza and wine lounge with the most incredible views of Cabo. When we travel to Cabo again next year we will stay at Sunrock for sure! Great price and location! Make sure you rent a car though when you stay […] here as it is about a 10 minute drive to downtown Cabo. It was the perfect setting for our family. Quite but so close to all the activities of downtown Cabo! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient property with views in all rooms!"
Booked two rooms for a family vacation for nine and had plenty of room for everyone! Each room had a gorgeous view of the ocean and had two bathrooms and a kitchen which made it very convenient for everyone traveling. Only thing that could have been better was the firmness of the couches and beds, they were too stiff for my taste, but other than that […] I would book here again. "Great place for family or group."
Had everything we wanted. We had a group of ladies and it was conveniently located close to downtown with out being right downtown. Close to Walmart and beach access. There was construction going and I think the walk down to the beach could be better but all in all we had a great experience. There were some front desk people that spoke English so that […] is a plus. And they were very helpful. We did not use the restaurant, weight room, spa. Security was spot on everywhere we looked so we felt safe. The kitchen was usable. No dish soap and enough of plates cups, utinsels for 4 people. Housekeeping did not come every day so for us that was a plus. We did run out of toilet paper but they brought more asap. We still ran out again. What do you expect with 4 girls in one house. LOL. AC worked great. We did not use the TV at all. Beds were very firm for sleeping. If that's what you prefer then great. Couch was as firm as the beds but we only sat on it not sleeping. Gorgeous views from the balcony and main bedroom. Very spacious for our stay. This is a great place for an extended stay, we were here for only 4 days but longer would be great also. The pool is not deep enough to dive but for relaxing swimming and for kids it's great. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Depends on what you are looking for!"
So much to say. Let me break it down by pros and cons as it pertained to me: PROS: * Very affordable, especially for long term stays! * Spacious (1200+) sqft 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo w/ kitchen. Ideal for larger groups, especially if splitting the cost. * Cool (distant) view of the arch and the bay * Friendly staff PRO or CON (depends on the individual): * […] Outside of downtown * City bus is ONLY $1 USD one-way (this is what I used), but not for the posh that is for sure. Have to walk up to highway and cross it to catch city bus. * 2 beach (like coves) are not very ideal for swimming, especially for kids. One has construction right on it. The other is difficult to find (you have to walk through another resort). * Not a whole lot going on around this place. No action, bars, only a few restaurants). * Pools are only 3'11". Like a wading pool. Good for small kids, not so much for adults. * Super quite. CONS: * Beds and couches are REALLY uncomfortable. * Taxi is a ripoff at $18 USD one-way to town. * Some back windows in kitchen had no blinds, so people can look right into your place, worse if on bottom floor. * No jacuzzi's. Students traveling to Cabo for spring break with a very small budget- We stayed with several friends to split the cost and it ended up being one of the best and least expensive vacations we've been on. The condo had two bedrooms and two full bathrooms along with a kitchen and living room. It was very spacious and accommodated four people comfortably. […] The beds were quite firm which was nice in the heat but the sofas were fairly uncomfortable. The kitchen had a few frying pans and pots and full sets of cutlery, plates, cups, etc. There was a microwave and a two burner hot plate for cooking and a full sized fridge/freezer. They also had a blender which was great for making our own margaritas! The units did not have dish soap, sponges or any condiments (no salt, etc). The view was fantastic! We were on the third floor of building 2 and had an excellent view of the main beach and El Arco de Cabo San Lucas. It was about a 6 minute walk down a fairly steep hill to the reception/tienda building and about 7 minutes more to the small local beach (kind of confusing to find the first time). They do have a courtesy golf cart shuttle you can ride up and down between the condo and reception but we enjoyed the exercise. You can take a bus into town for $1 US each way but they stop running at 11pm. It's $2 to go to Chileno beach (we highly recommend going here!) in the direction of San Jose. Cabs are $20 Overall it was perfect for us! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent with one exception"
The hotel was conveniently located. Very clean and in a very nice area. The view was so amazing. The exception was the beds. I read other reviews that stated the beds were hard but I thought maybe they expected too much. No the beds are literally hard as a rock. I actually have bruises on my sides from them. We bought some mats at the Walmart nearby […] but they didn't help. Go for the foam pads they sell instead. The furniture was not comfortable at all either. That said this hotel is excellent for a large group. Plenty of space, full size fridge and a clothes line outside side to dry all those wet swimsuits. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quite place outside town, but not to far!"
This place offers a quiet stay, cold air conditioning, private beaches below without sales people, and an amazing price! I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. If you're a pampered "all inclusive" traveler with really high expectations, look else where. Like down town. There are plenty of "ritzy" resorts willing to take your money, by the truck loads! […] But if you're the simple traveler, with low needs and an eye for a good deal that involves a little bit of the local culture and local way of living, then give Sunrock a try, you wont be disappointed. "Great views, awesome staff."
This condo / hotel was an incredible value. The large size accommodated my wife and I as well as two other adults and two kids comfortably. The views were spectacular and we watched whales from the balcony. The staff was extremely friendly. This property is about a $16 cab ride to downtown Cabo San Lucas or you take the bus which runs every ten minutes […] or so for about $1. Santa Maria Bay and Chileno Bay are a ten minute car ride up the road for great snorkeling / swimming. You can get to Chileno Bay easily by bus. The condo was a great value but...The living room furniture was low end and less than comfortable. The master bathroom had an occasional odor for the drain. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"clean, quiet, great view from the balcony."
We arrived very worn out from travelling and at first the 34 steps were daunting, but we easily adjusted, We really liked being able to make breakfast every morning and enjoy our coffee or tea, the beds were a bit firm, The air was really not needed but since there were no screens on the windows it was sort of a necessity, one morning a bird came in […] to our kitchen, looked around and went back outside!! that was fun, we also had a golden gecko on the ceiling one evening, that was fun too!!! "Great place to stay with a great view."
This was the only part of our trip where everything went well. The apartments are large and airy, the view is terrific, and the service was very good. You have to ask for room service but they are quick to respond.Genuine Expedia guest review
We spent two nights here and I found the place to be deacent. Clean and had a nice view. The furniture was uncomfortable but I didnt think the beds were to bad. The people above us must have been in a drunken brawl half the night so it was quite noisy. But other than that I would say the location is good if you have a car. You need to bring your own […] cleaning supplys and plan for extra time checking in and out as the security guard has to take inventory of everything in the condo. For the price I would stay again. "Sunrock, a hidden gem"
Be sure to have the directions to this hotel on hand before you head out! It was difficult to find the hotel after dark. The signs are not well exposed. The hotel itself is nice and spacious. We had a 2 bd/2bathroom. The staff were friendly and spoke English, those who spoke very little English were nice and friendly as well. The complex had 24/7 security […] on-site. The room came with a balcony which overlooked Lands End. The location of the hotel was about 10-15 mins to downtown Cabos and about 15-20 mins to San Jose del Cabos, and 30-35 mins to SJD airport. It's a very convenient location if you have a car on your travel. The hotel has free Wi-Fi and free parking. Don't expect your rooms to be serviced every day. The hotel does provide service every other day for short stays, but they would accommodate your needs if you call in. There is also an onsite laundry room with in the complex itself. While this hotel does have a pool, it was poorly maintained. There was a lot of junk in the water (leaves and such). But with all the beautiful beaches around, who would want to waste their time in the pool? I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to getaway and discover Cabos on their own. It's definitely another option than staying at an all-inclusive resort. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good price, no comfort"
These are two bedroom condos with plenty of space and closet space, too. However, they are very uncomfortable. The beds are like sleeping on a slab of cement and the pillows lumpy. The sofa and chairs in the living room are very stiff and uncomfortable, too. Utensils are sparse in the kitchen and there was no dish soap to clean anything properly. We […] did not get any maid service the entire 4 nights we were there, even though the info inside the room stated that we would receive it every other day. We did not use the pool because it did not appear clean and there was a dead mouse inside it the first morning. The view is beautiful and the place is about 2 miles from downtown Cabo San Lucas, so you'll need a car, taxi or take a bus to get around. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Spacious and view is great"
We could live here! It did not feel like a hotel at all - and appears to have been built as residences that they are renting out. Huge living room, dining room and kitchen, master bedroom and bath, and 2nd bedroom and bath. Air conditioners in each room worked great and we had to turn them off. The BEST was the view however, from the living room and […] the master bedroom and even from the 2nd bedroom had a wide open view over the courtyard with the pool looking out at the ocean and the arch of Cabo. Sunsets were fabulous. Loved the place and loved the price. Will definitely look to stay here again when we're back in Cabo. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"AMPLIO Y SILENCIOSO"

"Sunrock - Rocks in May"
05/29/14 2DALOU Arizona
We had a good view and convenient to Costco & OxxO around the corner. Was a bit blah for decor, but had a pool outside our room. Big King bed & 2 queen beds, I agree they were too hard, but we were able to sleep and get out in the morning so that wasn't a big concern. As you go into the rooms they mark EVERYTHING down (towels, decor, utencils, etc.) There was a crack on one of the lights in our room, but they figured that had happened before - so they did not charge us. So, make sure everything is accounted for. Security, I thought was great, as they watched everything and if you forgot a light on outside they would call you to turn it off during daylight hours. They did not have towels to clean the dishes and yet we asked for a blow dryer and they brought it up to the room. Not a lot of traffic in our area so slept pretty good. I would go there again as it was so close to Costco. It was a pain to get out of the outside lane and then to the middle lane, but that wasn't too bad.
"Somewhat lacking but has potential"

We stayed here for 2 weeks in March. After reading the other reviews I have to agree with them all. While it was a good price, there were several things that they can most definitely improve on. Especially the beds and the living room furniture. The most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in..oh wait..I didn't sleep. We finally went to Walmart to get a foamy and to supplement some of the limited utensils available for cooking. The hotplate didn't work half the time. The pilot light on the hot water tank went out twice. The toilets plugged three times. Yes, we know the rules about not putting toilet paper down. The view from our balcony was okay, but it would have been nice to have a couple cheap lawn chairs out there, so we didn't have to drag out the kitchen chairs. There are 2 nice beaches that you can hike down to, although the one is full of garbage. I hope whoever is building down there, gets that cleaned up.The hike down is okay, but the hike back up, especially if you are staying in building #1 or 2, could be tough. They do have a golf cart that they will give you a ride back up. We found the pool quite chilly. We did get our laundry done there and it was very reasonable. They have a little store there with just the basics and a little cafe. We did feel a bit isolated here, as the cabs were quite expensive to take into town. We were even charged $17 just to go to Walmart! It is only 3.28 k's, so we started walking there. I will say that the staff was great. even though they didn't speak very much English. I improved on my Spanish speaking skills! They were helpful and friendly. I won't say it is a bad place, we just won't stay here again. It might be just fine for others.
"Nice view, but noisy"
01/07/14 Jorge C San Diego, California
Great view and relatively inexpensive, but had some problems on our short stay. What bothered us most was the noise from the ATV's which were run day and night by the Maintenance/Security staff. Looked more like joy riding! We were there on a windy day; the grounds have no landscaping yet, just sand, so it was very dusty at times.
"Vacation in Cabo"
12/05/13 Larry C Merlin, Oregon
There is a good mix of good and 'could use some improvement' with this property. Bottom line is it was a great value for my dollar. The accommodations are somewhat spare, but definitely adequate - just not fancy, but if you are looking for a great value, you will not be disappointed. You might want to ask the management if they have yet provided foam matts for the beds. They were the hardest I've ever slept on! We found we had to augment the kitchen supplies with a couple trips to Wal Mart, but we settled in quite well for our 8 days. The view is spectacular! Every room has a balcony and faces the Arch. It's not on the beach, but a 10 minute walk down the hill brings you to a very private sandy beach cove with good snorkeling. The responsive service from the staff is some of the best I've ever seen. All are friendly, professional and eager to help. If you like quiet, this place is 5-star quiet. Security staff seemed to be constantly on patrol - night and day. We had no concern about our vehicle or belongings. The location is further down the beach from the main part of town, so a vehicle is a must. With a vehicle, however, it is definitely centrally located to Costco, Wal Mart, downtown, and some of the nice beaches further toward San Jose del Cabo.
"A work in progress"
11/30/13 SrGalahad CALGARY, AB
Needed a short term stay and thought we'd try Sunrock. Knowing the area it seemed to fit our needs. Price was good and what we got was probabbly "value" but the failures and discrepancies still detracted from the overall rating. Lots of space and gorgeous views of Cabo, the Arch and the Bay. Unit was clean and bright. Most of the amenities were as advertised and worked - including the wifi which is still a novelty in some Mexican hotels and resorts. A couple of good restaurants (Sunset da MonaLisa, Villa Serena) within a short walk and several within a short cab ride. The stairs could be a problem for some, especially when tired after a long hot day but that's a personal decision. However... This is more of a long-term-stay facility - the furnishings are sparse and generally apartment vs hotel comfort and quality. I wont complain about the firm bed as I like it that way. Big, airy windows but lacking screens (although there are very few annoying bugs in Cabo in December so don't sweat it). Nice balcony but NO patio chairs or table, even the $14 Walmart kind - for a couple of days moving the dining chairs out suffices but classless and uncomfortable. Toaster was DOA, smoke detector battery needed replacement in one room (warning beeps were annoying) - front desk advised but no action forthcoming (manana?) As commented by others there were no dish towels, paper towels or cleanser for kitchen, so don't spill your coffee! A 'welcome kit' ofdish soap, towels, paper towels, a small amount of salt, pepper, sugar and a couple of packets of coffee wouldn't hurt the bottom line and would be a huge improvement for the short-term visitor. The above are available in the nice deli/tienda in the office building (hrs 8-8) but thats little help at midnight or 6am of your first day Seems they are trying to rebrand this property and it has potential,, both for short term and long stays -- IF they refine the amenities and service. Good for a budget family stay or a long winter 'home' but the 1-5 day guest needs a bit more to make it a good choice - quiet, clean, large, airy with a VIEW - now to make it comfy... Cabo needs this sort of alternative so I hope they can get their act together and if so we'll be back.
"Big Space, No Comfort"
10/29/13 tdmgal Chino, California
These are two bedroom condos with wonderful views of El Arco. However, the furnishings leave much to be desired. We spent four very uncomfortable nights here last weekend. We were supposed to have maid service "every other day", but never had a maid come by. There were plenty of towels to get through four days, but we still should have had the service as advertised. The beds are like sleeping on a slab of cement, the pillows lumpy, the sofa and chairs in the living room very hard, too. The kitchen was very sparsely set up. Just a two burner electric hotplate and small portable oven, microwave and decent fridge. No saucepans, no bowls, and very few utensils. No dish washing liquid/sponges, etc., so I'm not sure how they expect guests to clean dishes/silverware they do use. Lots of closet space, but only 5 hangers. There was a safe in one bedroom, which we must have in every room we rent. We did not use the pool because it did not look clean and there was a dead mouse in it the second morning there. Staff was very nice, but I don't think we'll be staying there again.

An excellent staff especially the front desk person "Ofelia". She speaks great english and made sure that our stay was very enjoyable. The rooms very clean and spacious. We had a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit and a kitchenette, the refrigerator was very good sized. I wish that the television had a better selection of channels. There was a lot of children's programming. I would of liked to have Fox News. There was CNN available but, it was from london. The beds were a little firm for my taste but, we still slept well. Our next trip will definitely include a stay here again.

This hotel is located less than 10 Minutes east from Downtown Cabo San Lucas just off the Transpeninsular Highway. We saw the hotel on the internet and liked its location and great prices. All of the rooms are 2 bedroom Condo Suites with a separate bathroom for each bedroom. A well equipped mini kitchen is in each room as well. The refrigerator is large enough to hold anything we wanted to keep in it. The kitchen also included a toaster, microwave, blender, 2 burner electric cooktop and enough pots pans flatware and plates. The rooms have a capacity for 4 people. The TV and free wifi internet worked very well. All of the staff was very friendly and attentive tor our needs. We have enjoyed for our experience from the moment we met the front desk person, whenever we called the font desk she answered promptly and courteously and was able to fulfill our requests promptly. We are also impressed with the view that just about every room shares. The pool areas are well maintained and security seems very good. In fact, the security personnel frequently offered to help carry items to our rooms. There are 14 buildings. I think that each building has 8 rooms and I think there is one pool for every 2 buildings. I will definitely stay here again.
