"Fabulous Bed and Breakfast"
For the moment I got to the Baert Baron Mansion I felt the love that the owners, Vic and Anna, had for their home , guests and each other. I was in a wedding and much to my dismay my necklace broke, no problem, Anna fixed it for me! The party trolley, with the entire wedding party showed up at the door stop unannounced and they quickly welcomed everyone […] and allowed us to take pictures on the beautiful grounds and porch!! We will definitely be going back!! A real gem of a bed and breakfast!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Baert Baron Mansion was a historic fantasy."
Best hotel experience I've ever had. Very clean. Unique Victorian décor was done extremely well and was fun to be there. Although historic, the bathroom facilities was up-to-date. Breakfast served was homemade and abundant. I would recommend Baert Baron Mansion B&B without hesitation.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stayed at the Baert Baron Mansion during the Holland Tulip Festival in May 2014. Our stay at this Bed and Breakfast was the crowing glory of our trip. Not only conveniently located (a very short and easy commute into Holland), but a wonderful respite following a long day of driving in from Milwaukee. The couple running the Mansion is knowledgeable, […] fun and extremely cordial - and the proof is in the details. A small vase of fresh roses in the room to greet you, bottled water for our day-trips, Kruerig coffee and tea available at any hour, the most comfortable bed, a generous Southern-style breakfast served at the table (not a buffet), a bag of homemade cookies and chocolate delights inside our room, 9PM desserts, and (because we very early-morning departure plans) a to-go bag with breakfast goodies. Our stay ended on Mother's Day and Anna even surprised me with a loving and unsuspected gift. A beautiful, God-loving couple that truly showed their devotion to each other, God and their home. It was a blessing to stay with this couple. Highly recommended. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful bed & breakfast"
This bed & breakfast was absolutely beautiful! It had been restored to its original splendor by the owners, Anna & Vic. They made us feel at home the moment we walked in the door, greeting us with a hug. They have wonderful attention to detail with nuts & candies in our room and dessert at the end of the evening. Breakfast in the morning was served […] on lovely antique dinnerware and was delicious! Vic also worked very hard at keeping the sidewalk shoveled as there was quite a bit of snow falling. Anna & Vic truly went out of their way to make our visit special. We will certainly stay there again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Enchanting B & B"
The owners of this lovely B & B, Vic and Anna are gracious, kind, and very accommodating. The mansion includes gorgeous historic details and antiques while including modern comforts and conveniences. It felt like being honored guests in someone's home but still having our privacy. Desserts were left in our room each night and beach chairs and towels […] were provided for our day-trip to Grand Haven. Breakfast was delicious and filling. They have immaculate gardens, a storybook front porch, and a sitting area with a fire-pit in the yard. We could have spent a lot more time here. Even though Zeeland is off the beaten path, it was well worth it to stay here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A fabulous B&B"
We were greeted by Vic and Anna, a wonderful couple. The work they have done in restoring the building is absolutely amazing. They made us feel totally welcome and even gave us a great suggestion for dinner. We were offered dessert upon our return, which we declined as we were totally stuffed from dinner. Breakfast the next morning was so good, and […] there was so much food it was incredible, that we once again left a table totally sated. I would highly recommend the Baron Mansion. We will be returning in the future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place, if you are the religious type..."
Celebrated our one year wedding anniversary here. Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Think they were a bit shocked by the fact that we were a gay couple, as they were very "Christian-like." Bibles were in abundance in our room, as were crosses. I respect that they are proud of their religion, but they should also keep respect towards their […] guests by realizing they may not share/support the same beliefs. This was not advertised as a religious based establishment, otherwise I would have likely looked elsewhere. In regards to the house itself, it was beautiful. The room we stayed in was the attic area. Very nice and cozy, but the bathing situation was a bit problematic. The room offered a bath tub with detachable shower hose. It is stationed in a corner with a slanted ceiling that's no more than 3 feet above the tub, making moving in and out difficult. Not really the owner's fault as this was probably the best they could do with the limited space....but still, hindered any chance of getting properly clean in a hurry. Overall, the owners did seem friendly and made sure we had everything we needed (they even provided us beach chairs to borrow when we informed them we were going to the beach by the Holland area.). I personally don't believe I would stay there again simply because of all the religious undertones present all around us while there, but for others who don't mind that, they would likely have a great stay. "Best B&B Experience Ever!"
08/24/14 Bibliophile51 Lafayette, Indiana
I have stayed at B&Bs throughout the U.S. for many years and this has been the best experience I have ever had! My daughter and I were traveling back to Indiana from a trip to Mackinac Island for my 51st birthday. We decided to take it easy on our way home and she found this lovely B&B online. We were amazed! Anna, the inn keeper, was fun and personable. She attended to details beyond our expectations or imagination. Our room was opulent and had amenities I've never experienced in a B&B. Anna thought of everything we might need. She greeted us with gourmet snacks (nuts, homemade cookies, truffles), beverages, and a short tour of the gorgeous historic inn. She gave us directions to the beach if we wanted to see the sunset, and a suggestion and coupon for a local gourmet restaurant. The room had amenities beyond our expectations. The claw foot soaking tub, large open bathroom, chair, huge shower, extra large and soft towels ... it was all beyond luxury! The room has a Bible, table with local magazines, extra chairs, 2 recliners, ample outlets, lights, tables, 2 luggage holders, outlets/chargers for i-phones, -i-pads, etc. Anna had homemade, delicious carrot cake for our dessert on beautiful dishes when we arrived. She also had a fridge stocked with cold beverages and a Keurig to make hot beverages whenever desired. Anna checked to see if we needed anything later in the evening before she retired. Breakfast was delicious too! Anna made sure each guest had everything they needed. The inn is gorgeous with the historic restoration. Anna has a room in the home where she shares her passion for helping women to be rescued from Human Trafficking through selling her jewelry at a discounted price. She is a gifted artist who uses her gifts to help other women find freedom from abuse. Anna truly is honoring her calling to reach out to people! Anna is real and loving! She truly cares for every one of her guests as well as women she does not even know who need God's grace! This was the most amazing experience I have ever had at a B&B! Anna has inspired me to do something!
"Lovely Small Town B&B"

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Anna and Vic are great hosts who do everything they can to be of service to their guests. When we arrived there was a goody tray in our room with snacks and cold bottled water. The mansion is beautiful with plenty of sitting areas, including a large porch with views of the garden. It is located close to lake Michigan and Vic offered beach chairs and blankets if we didn't have our own. Breakfast was good and we appreciated the evening desserts, particularly the strawberry shortcake. We stayed in the Baron Suite, which had an amazing soaking tub that I used even though we stayed in August. Our only issue is that we are both light sleepers and the room was located right next to the front door. Obviously with a small B&B there was not a lot of late night traffic in and out, but it did keep us up later than we would have liked. Also the upper portion of the windows have no blinds so, again, light sleepers are up with the sun. With that noted, I would still recommended this B&B to anyone looking to stay in the area. A mini fridge was kept stocked in the main area (with room for guests to store leftovers) and hot beverages were available 24/7.
"Gorgeous B&B with Lovely Hosts"

Just got back from a wonderful weekend at Baert Baron Mansion. From the moment we arrived, Anna and Vic were very friendly and helpful. Their attention to detail, from the amenities to the fresh flowers in the room, were a pleasant surprise. The mansion is gorgeous and has been beautifully restored. The neighborhood was very pretty, with a lot of older homes. Bikes were available and we would have loved to pedal around the neighborhood if we'd had more time. The food was great and we thoroughly enjoyed having our evening desserts on the beautiful veranda. Vic was kind enough to start a fire in the fire pit in the backyard, which was a lovely treat. During the day we went to Ottawa beach which was a short drive away. Anna and Vic were kind enough to lend us a beach blanket and umbrella. I highly recommend this b&b and can't wait to return.
"Family Birthday Party"
07/10/14 Rich D Flower Mound, Texas
We had 4 night stay with Anna and Vic, including a catered garden luncheon for 30+ family and friends over July 4 weekend. It was a perfect weekend. As others have indicated, Anna and Vic are gracious hosts with astute attention to detail. The home is immaculately restored, as are the furnishings. Genuine antiques are throughout the home. But the furnishings are also for using, not just looking at. Beds frames are upgraded from antique sizes to Queen. We hosted a family birthday party in the garden. The garden is easily large enough for a 20x30 tent, 8 tables. Vic gathered wireless speakers, video, microphone, etc for our event. Anna (and family/staff) also handled the food for our event and it was wonderfully presented. For our day at Holland Beach and Fireworks, they gathered beach chairs and blankets for the family to use. It is clear Anna and Vic love what they are doing. They like to get to know you and are focused on your needs during your stay. If not renting the entire home as we did, I would suggest opting for either THE BARON SUITE or DR. BAERT SUITE as they are cream of the crop within the home. They each have suite style bathrooms. But all rooms have their unique charm. If in the Holland/Zeeland area, I would definitely recommend a stay at this wonderful B&B
"Great inkeepers and hosts"
06/23/14 Greg P Evanston, Illinois, USA
Ana and Vic are natural, hospitable innkeepers and hosts. They bring a great deal of love and detail of attention to their calling. They work hard to ensure their guests' well-being. They are also natural story tellers. The amount of work and detail that has gone into the house is remarkable. It was a very warm and restful environment for us. Finally, I really liked our mattress. A lot of hotel mattresses make me sore.
What an absolute treasure!! My family and I threw a surprise 90th birthday luncheon for my grandma. The space was so beautiful and rich. The food was delicious and the hospitality was 5 stars. There is and indoor and outdoor seating. A marvelous ace to have a shower or to stay. Thanks so much.

"Beautiful, Well-Maintained B&B"
03/11/14 Denice S DeWitt, Michigan
We love staying at historic homes and the Baert Baron Mansion is a beautifully restored B&B located in a quiet neighborhood in Zeeland, Michigan. Anna (we meet Vic later) greets us at the front door with a smile and a hug. She has sweet treats and beverages ready for us to enjoy at our leisure. Anna gives us a tour of their home. Every room is clean and uniquely decorated with special attention given to details like stenciling, crown moulding, ceiling medallions, and artistically arranged vignettes on bookshelves and dressers. We are staying in the Baron Suite which is located on the main floor immediately to the left as you enter the front door. The mattress height on the raised queen-size bed is higher than normal but a small footstool is provided, if needed. This guest room has four large windows making the room bright and airy. A lovely lead-glass design tops each of the windows. The room has two comfy leather recliners for relaxing or watching TV. A sitting area with a small table and two chairs is perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee. In the spacious bathroom, I appreciate the presence of a bottle of liquid hand soap at the pedestal sink rather than a bar of soap. There is a claw-foot tub and a separate modern shower. The water temperature and pressure are good. In the linen closet there are extra pillows, plenty of towels, and a fan. Since winter still has its frosty grip on Zeeland, we are not able to enjoy the garden or wrap-around porch. Later, Anna knocks on our door and offers us a yummy evening dessert. After a restful night's sleep, we go to the dining room where Anna has prepared a delicious hot breakfast for us. This is a beautiful, well-maintained historic B&B. The owners are warm, friendly, and helpful. Their passion for their home and for their guests comfort is evident in every thing they do. We look forward to returning.

What a wonderful weekend we spent there with another couple. They stayed in the Baron Suite with beautiful antique furniture and a modern bath. We were in the Attic Suite with a very cozy feel of the pine wood and open bath. Vic and Anna were so nice you felt like you were with friends. The breakfasts were delicious and filling. The evening deserts were outstanding. They made dinner reservations for us with directions. The stories about the house were amazing.

How do you describe in a few words an experience of warmth, charm, elegance, thoughtfulness, grace, peace and comfort topped off with some of the best food I've ever had? Vic and Anna are the perfect host and hostess. They made sure our every need was met and they did so with genuine, and I mean genuine, kindness. I feel like I have a home away from home and I can't wait to go back.
