This is a beautiful B&B in a beautiful town. We had a very relaxing stay in the well-cared for Baron Mansion. Beautiful furniture and decor, great breakfast each morning, and good conversation. We will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Enchanting B & B"
The owners of this lovely B & B, Vic and Anna are gracious, kind, and very accommodating. The mansion includes gorgeous historic details and antiques while including modern comforts and conveniences. It felt like being honored guests in someone's home but still having our privacy. Desserts were left in our room each night and beach chairs and towels […] were provided for our day-trip to Grand Haven. Breakfast was delicious and filling. They have immaculate gardens, a storybook front porch, and a sitting area with a fire-pit in the yard. We could have spent a lot more time here. Even though Zeeland is off the beaten path, it was well worth it to stay here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A fabulous B&B"
We were greeted by Vic and Anna, a wonderful couple. The work they have done in restoring the building is absolutely amazing. They made us feel totally welcome and even gave us a great suggestion for dinner. We were offered dessert upon our return, which we declined as we were totally stuffed from dinner. Breakfast the next morning was so good, and […] there was so much food it was incredible, that we once again left a table totally sated. I would highly recommend the Baron Mansion. We will be returning in the future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place, if you are the religious type..."
Celebrated our one year wedding anniversary here. Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Think they were a bit shocked by the fact that we were a gay couple, as they were very "Christian-like." Bibles were in abundance in our room, as were crosses. I respect that they are proud of their religion, but they should also keep respect towards their […] guests by realizing they may not share/support the same beliefs. This was not advertised as a religious based establishment, otherwise I would have likely looked elsewhere. In regards to the house itself, it was beautiful. The room we stayed in was the attic area. Very nice and cozy, but the bathing situation was a bit problematic. The room offered a bath tub with detachable shower hose. It is stationed in a corner with a slanted ceiling that's no more than 3 feet above the tub, making moving in and out difficult. Not really the owner's fault as this was probably the best they could do with the limited space....but still, hindered any chance of getting properly clean in a hurry. Overall, the owners did seem friendly and made sure we had everything we needed (they even provided us beach chairs to borrow when we informed them we were going to the beach by the Holland area.). I personally don't believe I would stay there again simply because of all the religious undertones present all around us while there, but for others who don't mind that, they would likely have a great stay. "Beautiful, Well-Maintained B&B"

We love staying at historic homes and the Baert Baron Mansion is a beautifully restored B&B located in a quiet neighborhood in Zeeland, Michigan. Anna (we meet Vic later) greets us at the front door with a smile and a hug. She has sweet treats and beverages ready for us to enjoy at our leisure. Anna gives us a tour of their home. Every room is clean and uniquely decorated with special attention given to details like stenciling, crown moulding, ceiling medallions, and artistically arranged vignettes on bookshelves and dressers. We are staying in the Baron Suite which is located on the main floor immediately to the left as you enter the front door. The mattress height on the raised queen-size bed is higher than normal but a small footstool is provided, if needed. This guest room has four large windows making the room bright and airy. A lovely lead-glass design tops each of the windows. The room has two comfy leather recliners for relaxing or watching TV. A sitting area with a small table and two chairs is perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee. In the spacious bathroom, I appreciate the presence of a bottle of liquid hand soap at the pedestal sink rather than a bar of soap. There is a claw-foot tub and a separate modern shower. The water temperature and pressure are good. In the linen closet there are extra pillows, plenty of towels, and a fan. Since winter still has its frosty grip on Zeeland, we are not able to enjoy the garden or wrap-around porch. Later, Anna knocks on our door and offers us a yummy evening dessert. After a restful night's sleep, we go to the dining room where Anna has prepared a delicious hot breakfast for us. This is a beautiful, well-maintained historic B&B. The owners are warm, friendly, and helpful. Their passion for their home and for their guests comfort is evident in every thing they do. We look forward to returning.

What a wonderful weekend we spent there with another couple. They stayed in the Baron Suite with beautiful antique furniture and a modern bath. We were in the Attic Suite with a very cozy feel of the pine wood and open bath. Vic and Anna were so nice you felt like you were with friends. The breakfasts were delicious and filling. The evening deserts were outstanding. They made dinner reservations for us with directions. The stories about the house were amazing.

How do you describe in a few words an experience of warmth, charm, elegance, thoughtfulness, grace, peace and comfort topped off with some of the best food I've ever had? Vic and Anna are the perfect host and hostess. They made sure our every need was met and they did so with genuine, and I mean genuine, kindness. I feel like I have a home away from home and I can't wait to go back.

Owners, Anna and Vic, were friendly and made you feel more like family than guests!!! Food was delicious and everything was homemade by Anna, the wonderful hostess. House was renovated from the 1800s by the present owners. Each crystal, plate, silverware has it's own story. Furnishings were restored and work was done by the owner, Vic. Porch has plenty of sitting front and side to enjoy and relax. My husband's favorite part was to have his coffee at 730am on the porch and also in the evening there was dessert served (2 choices) and if not there, dessert was placed in the guestrooms. Looking forward to our next visit!!! Thank you Anna & Vic for your hospitality!!! Natassa & Eugene

My wife and I decided on the Baron Mansion for our 10 year anniversary trip and I'm glad we did. The home is immaculately clean and has beautifully restored antique furnishings. You really feel like you are in a stepping back in time. The owner have done a great job preserving and restoring the historical home. Anna provides a delicious gourmet breakfast each morning. Her and Vic are wonderful hosts! They made every effort to make sure we had what we needed. The town of Zeeland is a wonderful, quaint town with a vibrant little downtown area that is worth taking some time to explore (and it's within walking distance from the house). We will definately recommend this B&B to our family and friends.

"Made you feel like family"

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at the Baert Baron Mansion Bed and Breakfast. The home is an immaculate beauty with lovely period furniture and furnishings. We stayed in the two room suite known as the Attic for our anniversary and enjoyed the room immensely. Anna’s cooking was outstanding. Each breakfast was twice as much as you needed, but tasted so good you could not quit eating. Every evening we were offered dessert like cheesecake or carrot cake prior to turning in for the night and what a delight that was. However, the best part of the mansion was the hospitality that the owners Vic and Anna showed to us. They made us feel like part of their family, they even went so far as to give a Father’s Day Balloon to all of the fathers that were staying for Father’s Day Weekend. They were very helpful in suggesting things to do and where to eat in the area and made you feel very welcome in their home. Vic and Anna truly care for their quests and go over and above to make you feel comfortable. We will always remember our twentieth wedding anniversary because of the warmth and caring of Vic and Anna.
"Beautiful Victorian, wonderful hosts, superb value."

The Mansion's website show views of the exquisitely decorated rooms, but until you actually walk into this gorgeous beauty you can not appreciate the work and attention to detail the owners have poured into making this a unique experience from the extensive stenciling to the smallest curiosity. Everywhere we went the elegance of a bygone era was evident, but of course with comforting modern amenities. The bathroom of our downstairs suite had a wonderful claw foot tub, and also a huge walk in European shower. Antique hardware enhances the towel racks, yet the towels are the softest and fluffiest I have ever encountered. It was a cool afternoon when we arrived, but when I explained I was suffering from spring allergies, they closed the door and windows and turned on the A/C just for me. Fresh tulips, brownies and chocolate covered strawberries were on the dresser in our room and we were told after we went out to dinner homemade chocolate and also carrot cake would be served in our room or in if we preferred the living room or out on the wrap around porch. Breakfast the next morning was equally impressive. I can not recommend an experience more, for a little more in price than we have paid for a standard issue motel room.
