Great location and very friendly staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Be aware that there is an additional 4 euro per person per night breakfast fee (got charged every day even if you do not eat their breakfast every day). Have to explicitly tell the hotel at the very beginning of your stay not to provide breakfast to exclude yourself from the charge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
What made this stay a very good experience are great people you encounter while at the hotel. The final touch, a personal email a day after I've checked out with "thank yous" was something that you don't get often. They do try to take care of guests in every way and do so with a smile - not something that is very common in Europe in my experience and […] even more appreciated because of that. "A simple but satisfying place"
The location of this place is in a very nice area near savigny place. Our room was simple but clean and spacious. There are several flights of stairs and currently some building repairs but that did not deter us. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they stored our luggage for us. Easy to get to from s train savigny stop and a few more blocks […] from zoo station. San Marino restaurant on the plate was very good and reasonable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastisk service, litt slitt hotell"

"sehr gut gelegene Pension.Preiswert"
"Family fun in Berlin"
08/25/14 Helena B Warsaw, Warszawa, Poland
We stayed here in July as a family of 5 in one of the family rooms. The service was wonderful - very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was spotless and spacious and breakfast was perfect - plenty for us and lots for the kids too. I definitely recommend Pension Peters as an affordable, well-located and comfortable family-friendly place to stay in Berlin.

Even before we arrived in Berlin, Pension Peters was available to answer specific travel questions by email. So it was great to have the room ready for us in the morning to freshen up after a red-eye. The quieter, courtyard rooms are apparently smaller. The two of us had a lovely spacious room, up a large stairwell (ask for something ground level if you don't want to climb), but it overlooked the noisy street. Good breakfast. Helpful advice from the staff. Easy walk to the HBH/main train station and Zoobahnhof for local service. Most of our activities were in the eastern part of the city, so we will opt for that sector next visit. Look for this Pension on the Rick Steve's Berlin video and then ask for his discounted rate.
"Good location and value"
08/07/14 lovethesunshine2013 Indianapolis, Indiana
Pension Peters is located near Savigny Platz and Kufuerstendamm less than two blocks from an S-Bahn station and within walking distance of the transportation hub at Zoobahnhof. Berlin has a delightful street cafe atmosphere in the summer, and Savigny Platz is a great location for these cafes. The room was very clean, with very high ceilings and windows to let in the breeze on warm days. The staff was pleasant and helpful, and the breakfast tasty and filling. The building is being renovated to uncover some old murals which should make it quite attractive when completed. There are, however, some drawbacks. There is no elevator, and the high ceilings can make carrying your luggage up to the third or fourth floor quite a chore. Nearby bars were a source of noise well into the night, which would lead to a recommendation od earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Also, the Wi-Fi was spotty, necessitating a descent to the ground floor for decent reception.

This is a really good spot to stay. The staff will do almost any thing to help you. We asked for good local spots to eat. The advice was really good. Help was freely given how to use public transportation and it worked well each time. Nice place with a good local feel. We felt more like guests than customers. Thanks so much Daisy and the other manager. Sorry I cannot remember your name. I am glad to have met you all.

Clean and comfortable accommodation, fantastic breakfast, very helpful hosts. Good location in the heart of Berlin west with good transport links to Berlin east and HBH. However the S Bahn was not operating between Savigny Platz and the HBH due to maintenance. Ask for courtyard room, less noisy.
"Wonderful people, but a hotel is for sleeping"
07/14/14 bsktcase89 Seattle, Washington
... which is impossible in these rooms. We had room #4 on ground floor in the inner courtyard, in July with temperatures +30°C. NOISE ALL NIGHT. At least four restaurants back up onto the same courtyard. In the evenings, from opening time until at least 02:00 the next morning, the room is filled with the sounds of working kitchens: clanking and clanging, a bell, the kitchen and waitstaff shouting orders back and forth, the restaurant workers having full-volume conversations over their cigarette breaks in the courtyard sitting area literally steps from the open window. One night we got a special one-hour screaming match between a male and female that sounded like someone getting fired or a couple breaking up. Closing windows was impossible in the heat; even late at night, the room temperature became unbearable within minutes. FLOODLIGHTS. There's a motion-sensor light illuminating the courtyard. Unfortunately, it's mounted directly outside the transom window over room #4's door, and shines directly in the window onto the bed. There's no window covering, only a thin white curtain for privacy. Any time anyone moves in the courtyard, including fellow guests returning to their rooms and the aforementioned restaurant staff taking conversation breaks in the garden any time until 02:00, the bright light shines straight onto the bed and stays on for about 30 seconds. NOISE ALL MORNING. After the restaurant noise finally subsides, don't think about sleeping late to compensate. The garbage and recycling bins for all the several restaurants, and probably the apartments above, are processed continuously between 06:30 and 10:30. This includes crashing sound of glass bottles being dumped from one container to another, which is shockingly loud in a courtyard and never seemed to end, and loud rattling of full and empty cans being wheeled by hand, one-by-one or two-by-two, over cobblestones and up and down a few stairs to the street. Every morning. All morning. PRIVACY QUESTIONABLE. The plain-glass bathroom window gives a view directly into the plain-glass shower from some neighbor's upper-floor apartment, and there's no way to cover it. OK as long as it's light outside and dark inside, but if you shower in the evening you may provide someone a show. PEOPLE DELIGHTFUL. The hoteliers were sweet, just as reported. Daisy welcomed us like family and showed us great insider tips for tourism, transit, and the neighborhood. The location and noise are not their fault and there's nothing they could have done to fix it. NEIGHBORHOOD PLEASANT. Nice restaurants, great access to transit. It broke our hearts to hate our stay, but five nights with no sleep is a terrible experience of Berlin. Never again.
"Good choice in Berlin"
06/25/14 HappyRock2_10 Gladstone, Missouri
Pension Peters is in the western area of Berlin. While the trains are close, the actual stations are a little bit of a walk. There are several really good restaurants nearby (Italian, German, etc.). We chose Pension Peters based on Rick Steves' recommendations in his Germany book. We do not spend a lot of time in our room when we travel, so, this was as good as any. We had a room off the back courtyard. It was smallish with a bathroom in the room (one of my requirements). The bed was as comfortable as any we had in Germany. I loved not having more stairs to get to our room. The courtyard was very nice and we did utilize it occasionally. The TV had cable or internet TV (more than just local channels). We actually found CNN in English on it. The bathroom was in the room (as I said). My biggest complaint would be the shower. As with nearly all of the B&Bs we had in Germany, it was small. Unlike others, it was raised about 8-10", and had a shower curtain to go around it. If you didn't tuck the curtain well, you got water everywhere (I did). I struggled with all showers we had, this one particularly. We appreciated that their breakfast time started at 7:30 (we are early birds and get going on sightseeing early). Breakfasts had great variety and were delicious. Plenty of good coffee. Eggs offered were scrambled; no other options. I never got into the cold cuts for breakfast thing, but they had plenty with variety and always fresh. I loved the bread choices and the delicious jams. The only night noise we had was from rowdy crowds watching Germany's World Cup game. We would stay here again.
"Met our needs"
05/14/14 Aims258 Madison, Wisconsin
My husband and I chose this place after seeing it featured in one of Rick Steves' shows. Accommodations are pretty basic, but that was fine for us since we aren't hanging out in the room and we value affordability. Our bathroom was down the hall from our room, but only for us (not shared) so that was nice. Our room was over some of the bar/restaurants and on the weekend with our windows open we could smell cigarette smoke and hear music. It didn't interfere with our sleep though, as it was cool enough that we could shut the windows for sleeping. Hotel staff were helpful and breakfasts were adequate enough that we could really get by on 2 meals a day with just a snack in between. Location was great - a 10 minute walk to the train station where buses could also be accessed.
"Treated like family and friends"

We arrived early before our room could possibly be ready and were welcomed warmly by Daisy, who locked up our bags, offered us coffee and sat down with us to help,us find our way around Berlin. We loved our room that was large, had character, comfortable beds, space for our family of five (which included three teens), and a large, clean bathroom. We found the place by rick Steve's recommendation and it was even better than expected. Now we feel like we have family in Berlin.
"Treat it as an apartment"
02/10/14 cultureanalyst Vancouver
I have stayed in hotels and rental apartments in Berlin, so I thought I'd try a pension. If you get the room/s facing the Savigny Square and don't mind noise from evening crowds, then this pension is a good stay. Savigny Square is a vibrant neighbourhood - bookstores, restaurants, boutiques, cinemas, S-bahn and U-bahn stations, plus I found a good laundry service - Picobello on Knesebackstrasse 86, north of the square. The pension offers an adequate breakfast, but there are numerous cafes near by also. However, this is not a hotel, so do not expect much service. If you arrive after 6 pm, you will be on your own after getting the key. The furnishing is basic, and though the apartment building boasts a substantial and impressive set of doors, the staircase needs some work in spite of the marble. I mention the doors because they look great from the street but the inside is a bit shabby. There is no elevator, so wandering up these shabby stairs with time-controlled lighting could be off-putting after a long flight. On a limited budget and if you would rather spend the money on trying out the many restaurants in Berlin and visiting the many museums, then why not?
