"Great quiet place not too far from the action"
02/22/15 Monica M Shanghai, China
Stayed here one night at the end of a long and noisy time on White Beach. It was a relief to get a away from the noise, but still be close enough to walk to the beach easily. Hotel was featured in a major Philippino Style magazine recently. Staff were lovely all throughout the stay. I accidentally left a large sum of cash behind in the room safe and they were very helpful when I called back in a panic; all the money was returned safely! Rooms are smallish but nicely decorated. The artistic accents throughout the hotel, and the cozy "library" area on the second floor was great. Anyone flying to the Philippines knows you often have to have your boarding pass printed before arriving at the airport, and it was so helpful to have a printer available! The only downside was that we had trouble connecting more than one device to the wifi in the room. However, we never bothered to inquire about remedying this so I'm not sure if such wifi service isn't provided, or if there was a problem with our connection. Would definitely stay here again!
"Nice hotel with lovely staff"

the location was set back from the main street and the beach which had the advantage of keeping it quiet. The staff were very helpful and the service for breakfast was good - even if there wasn't much variety available. It is worth being aware that the hotel is a good 10 minute walk from the centre of the action in Boracay - restaurants, cafes, etc are all closer to the middle of the beach

We just want to start off by saying THANK YOU to H8 and the staff! What an amazing little hotel! From the friendly accomodating and helpful staff to the amazing view at the Top of the H, this hotel is where you should want to stay regardless station preference. Its location sits on a hill about less than a 5 minute walk from the beach away from the hustle and commotion of the beach and traffic. When we arrived 3 hours prior to check in for our 3 night stay we were told the room was not ready, however they held our luggage without hesitation and provided us with a thirst quenching tamarind iced tea (at least it tasted like tamarind) while we took a breather on the couch in the cool air conditioned lobby and soothing lounge music (which always keeps you in the island state of mind) before we headed out to explore the beach while we wait to check into our room. The lobby is welcoming, always with a staff member to open the door & greet you while you wash the sand from your feet from the vessel of water and coconut ladle just outside the entrance. The reception desk leads right into the bistro where complimentary breakfast is served to order. Once we returned to finally check in, we were escorted up the spiral staircase to the second floor past the library (which offers books to read and a computer & printer) where we found our room and bath to be was very roomy, clean, and modern. Complimentary slippers & a Hampstead branded eco bag were waiting for us in the closet as was the safe. Free and fast WiFi was also at our disposal. Our towels were replaced daily even without complying to the note in the bathroom to put your towels the bin if you wish them to be replaced. The view outside our windows were lacking but it was a non issue for the wife & I. The only negative was the hot water in the shower. It was beach water cold, not as warm as the water from the bathroom sink. We notifed the staff of the issue when we left for the day's excursion. When we returned we found it to be the same even after being told it was fixed. But because we were used to taking a somewhat cold shower at the home of our relatives where we were staying with in Cabuyao we didnt drag the issue along. If you arent used to cold showers you may want to. Other than that the hotel is gorgeous and the staff very aware and accomodating. My wife lost her voice on New Years Eve and struggled to speak without a rasp. On the second day of our stay when we returned after a morning swim, we were greeted at the door, as usual, by hotel staff, and without asking, my wife was offered a ginger drink to help soothe her throat. Never at one point did she express or excuse her sore throat to any of the hotel staff but it was such a personalized touch on the hotel staff's part to be aware of it and to offer such. And although my wife didn't take them up on their offer, at that point I couldn't be more happier that we chose to stay at Hampstead while the rest of our family stayed elsewhere! Never have I personally experienced such astonishing service and to find it here in this hidden gem was very rewarding. I hope that anyone that stays in Boracay can book a room at this hotel, because with only 8 rooms excluding the Villa, once this hotel becomes a hot commodity if it isn't already, it will be hard to book your stay there. We hope to be back in Boracay someday and when we do we sure hope H8 can have us again! Thanks for the outstanding accomodation! Sincerely, The Mendoza's South San Francisco, California

We had a very positive experience at Hampstead. We loved the delicious breakfast - I got the Filipino while he got the Western, and both of us had a great time! They served us mango for our fruit and it was always very sweet. THe people here are always smiling, it really adds to the welcoming experience. We received some cookies when we first arrived and they even gave each one of us a gift before we left (speakers that are wrapped up in a nice Christmas present). There was a person in the concierge 24/7 and happy to help. They have a cute coconut husk with a handle to wash your feet before you enter, and the towels, beach mats, and umbrellas were so handy which are located by the door. In your room, you will also find your own flip-flops, umbrella, beach bag, hand-made soap (?), etc. Really cool place, lots of surprises and I love the personal touch! Will definitely book here again when we go back to Boracay :)

The moment my partner and I arrived, we felt welcome. Brilliantly polite staff as most people on the island are. They helped arrange a transfer with Island Star Express 1500.00 Php PP. That eased the stresses of trying to find our hotel ect. The breakfast was good (they even offer to serve it to your room!). They provided a plug adapter for my laptop. The WiFi could be improved as the connection was quite slow. Their selection of books to borrow were good, I found some good reads for breakfast reading. Late night films channels are good in Philippines, which was entertaining after a lively day on the beach. The hotel even have DVDs to borrow. Speaking of beach, the hotel is walking distance to the beach (station 1) and around a 5-10 minute walk to the beginning of station 2. The hotel offers towels and beach mats so not to worry too much about bringing those - if you don't mind using communal (but clean!) towels. It would be nice if they partnered up with a beach resturant to provide exclusive access to beach beds. Not sure if that's asking too much there! Overall a pleasant stay, would recommend to anyone that wants to go to Boracay but away from the main beach strip.

I stayed at the hotel during the off season of August. The hotel was clean and super quiet. The staff was amazing! The food at the bar was great too! Close enough to the busy beach area but super quiet.
"Friendly staff and convenient location"

This place just has 8 rooms inside the hotel, very clean inside with friendly staff. Location is convenient: just a 5 min walk down to White Beach. Wifi worked fine in the reception area on the ground floor but didn't work at all in the room. Rooms are a little small (unless you take the suite option), bed only queen size. Bathroom also fairly small with a shower (no bath). Paid 4400 PHP per night which seemed fairly expensive by Philippine standards, but I guess is reasonable value in Boracay.
