Very nice B&B in beautiful area of NH would stay there again!

Breakfast was good and everyone staying there seemed to really enjoy themselves. I was very envious of the rooms we saw in the second floor that had wifi, lake views, and comfortable blankets. Our bed was as hard as a rock, the blankets consisted of two firm coverlets, the pillows were hard and on the third floor we didn't have wifi in our rooms. I think had we had a more comfortable bed, my review would look like everyone else's.

The Inn is beautiful and comfortable. Very relaxing with plenty of common space and a wood stove. Our room was overlooking the lake, which we walked around earlier in the day. Breakfast was fantastic German apple pancakes, eggs, sausage and fresh fruit. A very relaxing country setting!
Seemed like the Inn should just be closed. No one was there when we arrived and the inn keepers did not return any phone call so we were concerned they had forgotten we were arriving. After 2 hours, the innkeeper was there but the entire Inn was the same temperature as outdoors - 40 degrees! The Inn keeper was someone with limited social/communication skills and other than taking our money, he said little. Although there were many available rooms, we were given a shabby place on the 3rd floor. We wanted to take showers and change before dinner but the place was ice cold and the heater we turned on was not warming the place very fast. We shivered in our boots and coats then finally left for dinner. If I had been traveling alone I would have been very frightened at staying in this big empty freezing Inn with a strange Inn keeper as the only other person. The beds were hard, as one person in our group said, 'It felt like I was sleeping on a board with a paper sheet over it." Lightbulbs were out and light switches didn't work. When we returned later, the room was only slighter warmer and no heat in bathroom so still too cold to shower. But in the middle of the night, the room ramped up to the 80's - way too hot and even though we turned down the heat, there was no improvement. The hallway was still in the 40's. The ONLY acceptable thing about this stay was the continental breakfast. Although the Innkeeper was still missing, there were wonderful hot muffins and excellent home-made granola. Seriously, I have never had such a bad B&B experience. This guy should shut down the Inn and open a restaurant (but have someone else serve the customers).
My boyfriend and I did a weekend get away right before the holidays. Denis and Angel were wonderful hosts. The Follansbee Inn is an excellent place to stay. Especially if you are looking for peace, quite and relaxation. We would highly recommend them and would stay here again.
We traveled up to visit daily for thanksgiving and stayed in the in with about 10 of us. What a beautiful place to stay! The rooms were so beautifully and tastefully decorated. The breakfast took my breath away best maple walnut bacon and biscuits I have ever had. I strongly recommend the Follansbee Inn you will thoroughly enjoy.
Wonderful welcome and position. Sitting by the lake was so peaceful. The breakfasts are a revelation! You never know what they will dream up next. Bicycles, kayaks and canoes are available free of charge.
Wonderful New England hospitality.
Longtime B&B (though the current owners are a couple years in) in a bucolic lakeside setting. We brought our 15 month old and she was well tolerated as she is quite energetic and social these days. Other guests were very friendly. The entire inn has a very cool antique (and otherwise conversation piece interesting) decor. The rooms were surprisingly quiet, we didn't hear a peep even though the inn itself is quiet historically old. One of the best parts was the breakfast, which was incredible. We are foodies, by the way, so this means something ha. The only nit was the free Wi-FI which was very weak on the 3rd floor. However, I did speak to the owner about it and as fiber optic cable is being laid on their street this week they are anxious to update/upgrade to provide top notch Wi-fi accessibility as soon as they can. We are looking forward to going back sometime soon!
We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and history of Follansbee Inn, not to mention the comfortable bed and first rate breakfast. The "divorce" bicycle was a hoot, and the surroundings were absolutely gorgeous.
Always a warm welcome in this wonderful country inn located right next to beautiful Kesar Lake. Stunning location and Dennis' breakfasts are off the scale superb, hopefully you'll get to enjoy his maple bacon. A perfect place to come and de-stress.
Just a one a night getaway. Lovely location with relaxing aura outside and wonderful warmth space inside.
I wish the host was a little more welcoming and friendly.
Breakfast had a distinctive egg dish that was a little too edgy for me. Nice to have a choice of a conventional egg breakfast.
This was one of our most remote, peaceful, lovely stays ever in New England. The day starts with a canoe ride on Kezar Lake, coffee on the swing, and a delicious and filling gourmet breakfast. Dennis is very accommodating but also gives you your space and privacy. Grace is a very lovely assistant who helps to keep the place spotless! The dog Angel is friendly and quiet, too. You have enough to do right close to the inn that you don't have to leave, but there is plenty to do nearby also if you choose (bike, hike, museums, wineries, brewpubs). We stayed in the Parker room on the 3rd floor for 5 nights and never ran out of things to do.
