"Great first experience at a B&B"
An amazing location in Victoria at the end of a quiet street and overlooking the bay. Our host was delightful and very interesting to talk to. Breakfast was served each morning and was delicious. We will no doubt visit this B&B again on our next visit to Victoria.Genuine Expedia guest review

"What an incredible experience."

We found this gem of a place during the Thanksgiving weekend, and one word to describe it, WOW. Everything was perfect, from the location, bathrobes, down to the breakfast Debra (the hostess) prepared for us. This place has all the amenities that even the Ritz-Calton couldn't compares. You could even use the boat and bikes for free! We will definitely go back.
"Great B&B just outside of Victoria"
we stayed here for our honeymoon, in the honeymoon room. The room was very nice and comfortable. The view of Esquimalt lagoon perfect. We saw many birds, and otters that have a den under the dock. The host was friendly and helpful, he suggested great restaurants and made reservations for us. Victoria is a beautiful little city, the B and B is close enough to town to get in easily. But it is nice being out of town to enjoy the natural setting.

My wife and enjoyed our stay at Birds of a Feather Bed and Breakfast. Our private deck gave us a wonderful view of the water. We enjoyed the sounds of seagulls, geese, and seabirds from the privacy of our own room. The breakfasts were wonderful. It was nice to visit with guests in the morning before heading out to see beautiful Victoria, Butchart Gardens and other points of interest in the area.
"Adequate but over hyped"

The setting is very nice and accommodation is fine and clean. However just be sure you google map location - although it states its ocean front it is located at edge of lagoon and ocean is a bit of a walk away. That said the view is very nice. The location is also in a neighbourhood in Colwood and at least 25 minutes from Victorai (if no traffic) and there are no restaurants etc close by - you will have to drive. If you are looking for a traditional bed and breakfast this will not suffice. The breakfast was poorly done - Kirkland yoghurts and a banana and a bread and cream cheese French toast with fake maple syrup - bring your own breakfast. The products in the room were sample shampoos and one tiny tiny bar of soap and ONE tea bag. The television, while a nice flat screen, only had basic cable so why bother. The summer prices are very high for this level of service.
"Lovely seaside B & B Exquisitely done!"

What a beautiful setting right on the lagoon. We enjoyed a wonderful sunset watching the three white swans near the shore and the dock. Our host Dieter is the perfect type for a B & B. Always glad to see you and filled with wonderful advice, etc. His place is handsomely done and a real joy to stay in. I would definitely recommend this place when staying in Victoria. It is heaven on earth!

I knew I wanted to spend some time on Vancouver Island but hadn't really researched it well. Arrive early at BoF and meet Deiter. A gentleman, knowledgable in the area, efficient, energetic and has a lifestyle I would love to emulate. BoF has everything you need for a vacation getaway, short weekend romantics or longer holidays.Terrific facilities, nice grounds and a lovely view. The best part is that Dieter has the information and the resources to make your stay perfect. I wanted to get a feel for the island and after discussing this with Dieter I realized that I didn't want to spend time driving around to catch the ferry to do some island hopping. He suggested that I rent him out with his super large and safe Zodiac which would save me time ,energy and yet see what the Island has to offer. The most efficient way was to let Dieter show me around and he did just that. We spent a lovely day at Springfield Island Market, eating shopping and enjoying a post hippy culture, talking to local folks and taking it all in whilst Dieter waited patiently and sunbathed. On the way back Dieter showed us where the big boats hang out, the Whales, sealions, Bird life, wild island goats and beautiful Island scenery. I took several real estate papers incase I decide to buy here after this. The property boasts several units that are very well furnished with everything you need. The family suite is especially interesting. The honeymoon suite overlooks the Lagoon and has a lovely view. I especially loved the breakfasts as Dieter makes them himself and presents it to the whole group. It really is a privilege to meet folks from around the world at a dining table and enjoy stories of their travels. Dieter was kind enough to let us use one of his private bedrooms as we had overstayed our trip and he was booked solid. So a second breakfast ensued, lucky for us, and more time to enjoy the company. Dieter was very helpful in directing us to attractions and events ongoing on the Island and in Victoria. An itinerary that Dieter provided for us on our way to Nanaimo really helped as we used it to make the trip more interesting. Let me add that the facilities that BoF provides will go well with large and small groups. In summary Dieter has really gone out of his way to make my trip interesting and memorable. Hs stories and conversations will stay in my memory banks for ever. I wish you well in your new marriage with your beautiful bride, and every success in your very impressive ventures. This B&B turned out to be one of a kind . Regards Hemant and Bhavna Tailor ( Toronto)
"Gem in Colwood"

Birds of a feather provided us with a Victoria experience that was a breath of fresh air. I've lived in Victoria and visited the city many times but never stopped in Colwood or Metchosun. On this visit, once we arrived, we had no desire to go into the city. We had a spectacular view from our room and our deck, a quiet lagoon where we could go out in the canoe or kayak and trails for hiking. Once we did go for a road trip it was a quick and pleasant drive out past Sooke to the Juan de Fuca trailhead. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway to relax and recharge, or for a romantic getaway.
"weekend in Victoria - on the sea coast"

We took the ferry from Vancouver and found the Birds of a Feather bed and breakfast in the suburbs of Victoria on a beautiful inlet on the sea coast (very near Hatley Park castle). The host is most gracious, informative and personable. The morning breakfast was most enjoyable and shared with 6-8 other guests. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone traveling to Victoria or Vancouver Island.
"After a "Full Day""

The beds were wonderful, to be able to make an early morning coffee was a great perk. Dieter went above and beyond to give us a lift and make it "easy" for us to enjoy our evening libations without having to leave the B&B. At the end of the day, two very tired cyclists were very pleased with the accommodations! Of course the setting is perfect. L&J
"Awesome for a group of friends"

A group of nine of us were celebrating a 20 year anniversary of our group. Dieter's B&B provided the perfect opportunity for us to relax in between our outings. Our only hope was that we didn't disturb the other guests as our relaxation involved a lot of laughter (and wine, beer and mojitos). We had wonderful, filling breakfasts every day, that allowed us a late lunch with tapas on the deck in the evening. Dieter took us out on an all day tour in his zodiac and it was another day filled with laughter. A few of us took the time to go on early morning kayaks and watching the sunrise. Definite memories were made.
